A very happy hump day to you! It was another frigid day here but that’s the norm now! I did have a nice day, I went to lunch with my friend Robin. We went to Moe’s, I haven’t been there in a while and it was good. I came home and got to talk to one of my favorite people! I had a nice long chat with my friend Michael! He is doing well enjoying the fact that he is not here in NY freezing with the rest if us! He has warmth yes, but I have Target, Michaels and bagels! LOL! All kidding aside, he is missed! I also stopped by Heather’s for a little wine last night. Nothing like some Cupcake Red Velvet and some laughs to finish off the evening! Tonight I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to help prepare for the card class on Friday. Let’s see if I can leave without buying anything! 😛

So we all know that Wednesday means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS133 DT Sketch 2-25-2015

I decided that I would use one of the cards form the This Day Project Life Mini Card Kit again. My card starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, the background is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I embossed with the “Vintage” Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Project Life Card is backed with a piece of Whisper White and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My cloud is one of the dies from the Word Bubbles Framelits and is also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered that in the lower left corner. A piece of the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape covers a piece of Whisper White and goes across the bottom. My greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Coastal Cabana, some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that to the card. A button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack completes the card. I’m really enjoying using the Project Life cards for my cards and I love the monochromatic Coastal Cabana with the white. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have created and enter you card in the gallery. Thank you for your visit today, I always love having you stop by! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

We had a some snow this morning, about 5 inches! And it was that powdery fluffy snow so the roads were a treat on the way to work. Someone spun out in front of me and then sat there for about 5 minutes composing themselves and then our top speed was 5 MPH. I can’t get up the hill at 5  MPH, I need a little momentum! LOL! The convertible is not a fan of the winter, I think that it likes it less than I do! However, around 12:00 the sun came out and it was actually not bone chillingly cold! That will be short lived though as we are supposed to have the coldest day of the year on Friday. I think I will stay in that whole day! When I came home last night there was a little package from England for me from a company called Clearly Besotted. They are small stamp company and I fell in love with one of their sets and had to have it! I’ll post a card in the near future so you can see what I mean. Last night I played around in the Stampin’ Galley and skyped with my buddy Eva. All in all a pretty good day!

It’s Wednesday and you know that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch challenge…

PCCCS132 DT Sketch 2-18-2015

I kept pretty close to the sketch and came up with a very simple yet elegant card! For the base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and covered the entire front with a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack. I adhered a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon behind the paper and then used a fork to tie my bow. A Glue Dot holds the bow in place. My greeting is from the Hello There Host Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Before I removed the label from my cutting platform I used a Gold Gelly Roll Pen to outline the die cut with the Framelit. I adhered a doily from the Artisan Embellishment Kit to the card behind the label which is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Up in the right hand corner are three flowers from the same set. They are stamped in Gold Encore Metallic Ink on Sahara Sand and then heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. A quick punch with the “Vintage” Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a few Basic Jewels Pearls before they are adhered with Glue Dots. Three more pearls along the bottom of the label and the card is complete! I love the DSP, nice and subtle, especially with the gold! I hope that you too like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog and take a look at my teammates projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today, I hope that you all have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Happy Wednesday everyone! It was a little bit nicer around here weather wise yesterday, a tiny bit warmer which was appreciated! Nancy was back from LA and she gave me a video of Sam getting his first Grammy from where she was sitting. So cool to see it from another angle! Yesterday was another quiet night. Taylor came by and I made a few cards. I also made sure that I would have a little time to just sit and relax for a bit. See, I’m making an effort to do that more! Tomorrow I have a bunch of meetings at work, not my favorite way to spend the day. Oh well, soon it will be Friday! 🙂

We all know what Wednesday means… I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS131 DT Sketch 2-11-2015

I went with a simple, subtle card. Yes, it could be a Valentine but it doesn’t have to be! LOL! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Sahara Sand that covers the entire front. On top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla, I used the “Vintage” Stampin’ Spritzer and my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker to get my spatter. A piece of Sahara Sand 7/8″ Lace Trim is adhered around the back and the panel is then adhered to the card with Fast Fuse. I heat embossed a piece of Vellum with the Something Lacy Background Stamp and some Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder. One of the Labels Collection Framelits cuts it out and some Multi-Purpose glue adheres it to the lace. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Blushing Bride on a piece of Sahara Sand. I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and the Simon Says Stamp You Die to cut out some Blushing Bride. I used the same technique as I did the other day to heat embossed them multiple times with Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder. The heart is adhered with a Glue Dot and the you with some Multi-Purpose Glue to the greeting which is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the way the clear embossing give the die cuts an epoxy look all nice and shiny! I hope that you liked my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have done with the sketch and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by to see me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

A very happy Wednesday to you! I’m having a wonderful time down here in Florida! Maggie and I took a little road trip to Lakeland to visit a scrapbook store called Violet’s! Over 4,100 square feet of crafty goodness! There are big rooms and little rooms filled with paper and embellishments! A whole room with rubber stamps and tons of dies and other essentials! I think that you could go in there quite a few times and still find new things! Here is a picture of the storefront and if you ever find yourself in Lakeland you must go and pay them a visit!

Violets Lakeland

After the store went and had lunch at Steak ‘n Shake, Maggie had never been to one before! She said that it was quite good and loved the burger and milkshake! We came back to the hotel and met her sister-in-law Jackie and headed over to Epcot. Jackie is a Cast Member at Disney and one of the sweetest people! We wandered around through the countries and had some food and drink. A very fun way to spend an evening! Here are the three of us in front of the sphere…

Now on to today’s post! I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog with our sketch challenge for this week…

PCCCS129 DT Sketch 1-28-2015

I looked at the sketch and thought that the circle would make a good place for a heart! The card begins with a base of Real Red Card Stock. My background is a piece of Basic Black, I heat embossed the stamp from Gorgeous Grunge in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the base. A strip of Real Red goes across the middle. I used one of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut out the circles and then heat embossed my greeting from the Countless Sayings 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set, also in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Before I adhered the strip to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I added two pieces of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper punched out with the Banner Punch to the lower left. The heart is cut out from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Die and a few gold sequins sprinkled around complete the card. I really do love that Sketch Heart Die, especially cut from our Gold Glimmer Paper! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! It’s Wednesday already! Wow! The week is just chugging along. Andrew was up at the office again today for another meeting about the Suicide Prevention website. I thought that it would be good for him to come up with the domain name and tag line. He is going to stop by tonight so we can brainstorm for a bit. The rest of the day was the usual and when I got home I went straight into the Stampin’ Galley to work on my projects for when I’m away next week. I’m looking forward to being in the warmer weather for a bit! How many of you are going to Leadership in Orlando? I’m going down a few days early to see my friend Germaine and then my friend Maggie and I are going to go to Disney on Tuesday! Really looking forward to it!

Today, since it’s Wednesday, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS128 Sketch 1-21-2015

I love the newsprint on the lower half of the card so that’s just what I did too! My card base for today is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped my greeting from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black in the upper right corner. The lower part of the card is covered in a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. Across the card is a piece of Basic Gray and a piece of Smoky Slate. I used some Vellum Card Stock and the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with the Project Life Corner Rounder to create my tag. The images are also from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set. The sunburst is heat embossed in Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the butterfly in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some strategically placed SNAIL holds the tag to the card. A Neutrals Designer Button with some Hemptique Black Hemp Cord Twine is threaded through and tied in a bow with some extra long tails. Three matte black sequins are under the tag and complete the card. I forgot how much I love that Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set and the Heptique Twine is so neat because it holds its shape really well! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Ahh… the weathermen, they rarely get things right do they?! It was supposed to snow this morning and then turn to rain around noon. Nope, it snowed all day, thankfully we only got about a inch but boy did it get cold! Tomorrow night it’s supposed to get down to around -10 degrees! I was speaking to my friend Andrea who lives in Colorado and she said that she sent it my way. I said thank but you really don’t have to do things like that! LOL! My office move went smoothly and I had most of it done in about 3 hours. There are still little odds and ends left in my old space but I’ll get to them tomorrow. I picked Andrew up from the Airport last night around 1:00am, his flight was delayed by a little over and hour and they had to wait for a gate for a long time. In fact they didn’t even end up at the Delta terminal! Not too bad considering that if someone sneezes on the tarmac at JFK they close the airport! I was quite happy to have him back but I think that he forgot to bring the warmer weather with him! 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS126 Sketch 12-07-2015

Fun and simple! I changed a few things around but I stuck pretty closely to it. The card base for today is Basic Black Card Stock. My background is a piece of Very Vanilla and across that bottom is some First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adhered a piece of Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back and slid a “Vintage” Designer Round Ribbon Slide onto it, I still love those things! My panel is also a piece of Very Vanilla and my image is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped on Memento Tuxedo Black. I backed it with some Basic Black and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The “World’s Greatest” and “Hats Off to You!” are also from the same set and are stamped in Lost Lagoon. The “World’s Greatest” Is cut out with my Paper Snips and the other greeting is flagged on the left. Both are adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched out a piece of Lost Lagoon with the 3/4″ Circle Punch to back another hat from the Guy Greeting Set that I cut out with my Paper Snips and popped that up on a Stampin’ Dimensional too! I love the colors and the nice maculae feel to the card, even with the ribbon! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Well guess what?! I didn’t move again yesterday! LOL! I’m really not shocked but I’m the only one left in the old space out of my department. They say possibly tomorrow, if not then next Monday because I’ll be off on Friday!! Oh well! What can ya do?! Andrew came up to the office for the meeting and is going to help me with the design of the web site and print materials that go along with it. That will be fun! Oh, and he was officially added to the committee! He he! I did end up going back to IKEA last night to get my wall unit and Heather came with me. She needed to go and get something to wear tonight so we went to H&M. I found a pair of jeans and a pair of corduroys so I was quite happy about that! Oh and a cool pair of Union Jack socks! LOL! We went to IKEA after that, it’s connected to the mall, and I got my wall unit and the accessories that I wanted to go with it. We stopped by As-Is and Heather found a nice chair for $100 so since we had my dad’s truck so she got it. We stopped by and unloaded my stuff first and then I carried the chair into Heather’s and she put it where she wanted it and loves it. I’ll put my wall unit together on Thursday morning. Still not sure what I’m doing tonight, what are your plans for ringing in the new year?!

Wednesday and you know what that means, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS125 Sketch 12-31-2014

I stayed really true to the sketch this week! For my card base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and the “Vintage” Color Spritzer Tool with my Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers to create my spattered background. A piece of the new Chalkboard Paper* and the new Yellow Citrus ColorBox Chalk Ink Pad* along with the new Big Day Stamp Set** are used to stamp the cake. The slide frame is a piece of Tangelo Twist that I cut out with the On Film Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and the Starburst Framelits with Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Hello Honey are used for my “embellishment”. My greeting on the arrow is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the On Film Framelits to cut it out too and then before I popped it out of the Framelit I used a Liquid Stylus Fine Point Marker to create the outline. More Stampin’ Dimensionals adhered those to the card and complete it nicely! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Show some love by heading over to the blog to see what the other designers have done with the sketch and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you all for your visits and comments this past year! So, believe it or not I got most of my Christmas shopping done yesterday! Woo hoo! I met up with Danielle last night and we went to the mall. It was a little crowded but we just took our time. She got most of the rest of her shopping finished too and even got her self a nice little present! I also stopped in at Hollister and got myself a new pair of jeans and a nice fuzzy lined hoodless sweatshirt. All of the stores were having 50% off or better sales so that made waiting worth it. I just have two presents left to get and I’m done. I have also decided that I will send out Christmas cards, they will just be a little late and I will use the ones that I already have made. Thanks for the comments and input, it always helps! 🙂

Today is Michael’s Birthday!! Join me in wishing him a very happy birthday and a wonderful year ahead!! Happy Birthday Michael!! 🙂

Well, it’s Wednesday and we know what that means! It’s Paper Craft Crew sketch day and this is what we have for you this week…

PCCCS124 Sketch 12-24-2014

My card is actually quite non-decript and would work for any range of occasions. The base for today’s card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Across the top is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and over the top of that is some Basic Black that I used the Confetti Stars Border Punch on. My banner is a piece of Lost Lagoon cut out with the Banners Framelits and the star is cut out using the Stars Framelits. Behind the star is another piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and tucked in on the right is a piece of Basic Gray that I punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and some Basic Jewels Rhinestones are added in a row of three. I decided that the banner looked a little plain and what better way to jazz it up than with some sequins! I used some from Doodle Bug and they are called Beetle Black. There are some matte and shiny black, shiny light gray and a few different shades of silver. Finally, my greeting is from the Good Greetings Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and tucked under the flag. I’m really loving the grays lately, especially with Lost Lagoon and Black! And there you have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Don’t forget to visit the blog! I hope you enjoyed the card and I thank you for stopping by! Hopefully I will get the rest of my shopping done after work and I hope that you are all finished with yours! Have a great Wednesday and very merry Christmas Eve!! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 123

A little over a week until Christmas and I don’t even have my cards made! I just can’t get into the groove lately! I did come home after work last night and make some cards, just not Holiday ones! My tree still has but five ornaments on it and I haven’t even thought about shopping yet! I really need to get it together! My mind is filled with all sorts of things, just not Holiday things. Maybe I’ll have a rally this weekend… then again maybe not! LOL! How are your Holiday preparations coming? I hope that you are further along than I am!

We are halfway through the week and that means that it’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS123 Sketch 12-17-2014

I have really been into blues lately and purple for some reason too. Today’s card starts off with a base of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. For my panel in the middle I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. My butterfly is a piece of Watercolor Paper that I cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits*. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss Ink to give it some color and adhered it to the card with Glue Dots. My triangles are Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay and are punched out with the Triangle Punch and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I choose one from the And Many More Stamp Set and heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black with the right side flagged. The embellishment is made with another piece of the Designer Series Paper and my Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round Epoxy Embellishment Maker that my friend Eva sent to me. In our current sea of Holiday cards I love the spring like feel of this one and the bold bright colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have to inspire you and enter your project in the gallery! I thank you very much for stopping by and I wish you all a Wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

And it rained and was windy all day just like they said it would be! We got our Nor-Easter but again, at least it wasn’t snow! There was some flooding and a few tree limbs down here and there but not too bad. Work promises to be quite busy for the next few weeks, they do like to leave everything until the last possible second which makes me happy on a level that I am unable to describe! LOL! Last night I got to see little Daniel, his head is healing nicely and just for fun he has added another bruise right in the middle. We need to work on actually looking where we are going next! I got my 23 lb. box of pre-order goodies from Stampin’ Up! yesterday so I immediately had to play as soon as I got home! I did make a card and I will give you a little peek at it but you will have to wait until tomorrow to see the whole thing! Here it is…

Watercolor Butterfly Basics Peek-WM

It uses the new Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set and Butterfly Thinlits. I love the elements in the set and I can see that it will become a favorite! Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the whole card! Now on to toady’s post. It’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS122 Sketch 12-10-2014

This was one of those times that I knew exactly what I was going to use! The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Real Red with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the top and the bottom is a piece of paper from the Flashback Designer Series Paper Pack. I adhered a piece of Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the middle to hide the seam and then adhered the background to the card with SNAIL. My greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits. I adhered two flagged pieces, one Basic Black and the other Lost Lagoon behind it and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The 2 is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. To complete the card I adhered one of the small Silver Basic Metal Buttons with a glue dot. A little bit of an unexpected color combo but I think it works pretty well! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. There is more inspiration for you over on the BLOG so be sure and stop by. Thank you for paying me a visit today and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for your look at the full card made with products from the 2015 Occasions Catalog! Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps! 🙂
