Paper Craft Crew 92

Hello Wednesday! How nice to see you again! We are halfway there peeps! Yesterday was another nice day weather wise and a calm day work wise. A pretty good day all around. My friend Danielle needed two mother’s day cards and a birthday card so I came home and made them last night. One of them was the Stippled Blossoms card from the Creation Station blog tour and the other two are throwbacks from a while ago. I’ll post them later in the week. I’m so glad that I keep my stamp sets, never know when I will have to pull one out of the archives!

Wednesday means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS092 Sketch 5-07-2014

I was going through one of my many craft drawers the other day and I came across the fun stamp that I used on today’s card. I got it at Convention last year. It’s an original Shannon West creation! My card base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. On the bottom half is a piece of Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper. I used some of the new Fast Fix Adhesive to adhere some 5/8″ Crochet Trim, pleating it as I went across. The greeting, which I mentioned before, is stamped in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla and backed with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. The flower in the top left is Calypso Coral cut out with the Blossom Party Originals Die. In the middle is a Neutrals Designer Button. The flowers in the lower right are also Calypso Coral punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. Some Basic Jewels Pearls are in the middles and also along the side of the main panel. The neat little bird is from the Nature’s Hello Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip and cut out with the Backyard Basics Stamp Set. A pretty cool layout with a little bit of a vintage feel to it. And there is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. Be sure and stop by the blog to see the other designer’s creations and add your one to the gallery so we can take a peek at yours! I always appreciate your stopping by and I hope that you all have a very nice Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 91 & Pics

I will not lie to you I was tired yesterday! Apparently four hours of sleep isn’t enough for me! I usually am good with four and a half but four just doesn’t work! LOL! I did manage to get a lot accomplished at work and I got to have dinner with my parents now that they are back from London. I’ll admit that I missed them! Mum did bring me back loads of candy and chocolate, I see a diet in my future in a couple of weeks! Did you all like the picture from yesterday of the Catalog cover? You got to see some of the neat new products that they have. I did get to meet some people while I was at the Catalog Premiere. I have two pictures from it that Crystal “Super Stamp Girl” was nice enough to send me. The first one is of her, Sandy and I and the second one is of Laurie, Sandy and I. Yes, I’m a complete geek, that is my Satellite Lane A Cappella t-shirt!

Premiere1 Premiere2

I love when I get to meet the people that I talk to on my blog! Thanks for sending the pictures Crystal!

Speaking of Satellite Lane, I’m off to Manhattan tonight to have some dinner with my friend Kim and then after we are going to head downtown to see them perform at Tammany Hall. Hopefully I’ll get some pictures, it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow. Not the best weather but it will be a good time anyway!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCS091 Sketch 4-30-2014

As soon as I saw the speech bubble I knew that I needed the Word Bubbles Digital Download! The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. I used my E-Cutter and the Word Bubbles Digital Download to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay with the Hello cut out from the inside too. Before I adhered it to the card I put another small piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper behind it and the used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up over it. The arrows are from the Label Card Thinlits, I modified them slightly by removing the tails with my Paper Snips. I cut the three triangles from the same DSP with my Paper Snips and adhered all of the pieces with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Yes, there is no stamping on the card at all! That doesn’t happen very often but the E-Cutter and MDS Digital Downloads make cutting out stuff so much fun sometimes you don’t need to stamp! I really hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch! Go and visit the blog and see what my teammates have done with the sketch and have a try yourself! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to. I hope that you all have a great Wednesday! 🙂

How are you all doing today? Midweek is always a good thing and I’m always much better by this point. Work, busy as always. I did have a nice evening. A little computer reformatting, some Friday’s with Andrew, not bad for a Tuesday. Tomorrow promises to be a long day. At some point during the day, I have to run out to MacArthur Airport and set up a television because we’re having an art exhibit there. And then tomorrow tonight is the dinner dance. 8 AM to around 10 PM, F-U-N! My boss Nancy knows of my crafty ways and shared a picture of the Easter table that her and her husband created for their niece and nephew for Easter. Nancy is a very nice person, and I’m not just saying that because she’s my boss, she really is a nice person. She loves those two little kids so much and I think by looking at the picture, you can see just how much she loves them by how much effort her and her husband put in to this project. Have a look for yourself…

photo

Those kids are going to have quite the sugar rush, huh?! LOL! That is A LOT of Peeps! Pretty impressive display though, don’t you think? I thought you would all enjoy that. And Nancy was quite proud of it, as she should be!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS090 Sketch 4-23-2014

My card starts off with a base of Coastal Cabana Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Soft Suede that I punched on the left side with the Chevron Border Punch and I slipped some Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper behind it before I adhered it to the card. My oval, greeting and flower with the stem all come from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set. The oval is stamped in Coastal Cabana and is cut out with the Ovals Collections Framelits (a little piece is hacked off the left side). I stamped the “Oh, Hello” on the oval in Soft Suede and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the flower, I used Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp and cut it out with my Paper Snips. The flagged piece of Pear Pizzazz is stamped with a greeting from the Hip Notes Stamp Set in Soft Suede. The flower on the left is from the Petite Petals Stamp Set, stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch. Finally, my arrow is from the Label Card Thinlits Dies and is cut out from a piece of Pear Pizzazz. I’m loving the funky mix of colors and I like the way that the Afternoon Picnic DSP peeks through the punched chevrons. There you have it, my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! I hope you enjoyed it. Now take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch. Don’t forget to participate so we can see what you do, too! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and I hope you have a happy Hump Day! 🙂

Rainy and windy, that was the best way to describe yesterday. It rained all day, again better than snow. Some of you told me that you had snow yesterday, doesn’t Winter know that it has clearly overstayed it’s welcome?! This past weekend was clearly a tease because it’s 30 degrees here this morning! On a positive note it is Wednesday and that is always better than Monday! Tonight I’m off to Manhattan for a bit with Andrew. We are going to meet my friend Kim and have some dinner and then Andrew has a performance with Satellite Lane. They are going to perform a proposal in Times Square, that should be fun!

Stampin’ Up! had a fun announcement yesterday! They have partnered with Becky Higgins, the creator of the popular Project Life scrapbooking system.

We are so so so excited to let you know we’ve partnered with the amazing Becky Higgins to bring you the real deal—authentic Project Life products, now in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors and designs. If you’ve somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it’s all about, we’ll fill you in: it’s a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all aboutspending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

You’ll be able to order a selection of Project Life products starting May 1! And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you’ll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products.

Can’t wait that long? Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order the limited selection starting April 21. So if you’re a demonstrator make sure to check the demonstrator website that day; if you’re not a demonstrator, sign up and you can order the products early too!

Here are the items you’ll be able to purchase on May 1:

I saw on the Stampin’ Up! Customer Site the other day that that had a video on a watercolor technique  so I tried it on my card today. The base of the card is Smoky Slate Card Stock. My background is a piece Daffodil Delight on top and a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper on the bottom. I used a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon to hide the seam. Adhered to the ribbon is a piece of Crushed Curry that I cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. The main panel is a piece of Watercolor Paper. I used the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and a Stampin’ Spritzer with water. I inked the stamp with Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo and Gumball Green and I spritzed it with water before I stamped it. It does really give a nice watercolor effect to the stamped images. Across the bottom is a strip of Gumball Green that I cut out with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die and adhered it to the watercolor paper. It’s backed with a piece of Island Indigo  and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally the bird is from the Nature’s Hello Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Smoky Slate. I used the Backyard Basics Framelits to cut him out and another Stampin’ Dimensionals holds him in place. I really do like that watercolor technique and will use it again, it was quick and easy. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Now take a quick click over to the blog to see what the other designers have for inspiration and let’s see what you come up with. I hope you all have a great Wednesday, I thank you very much for coming by! 🙂

Monday seems just a distant memory now that we are at Wednesday! LOL! We finished moving at work today. That was definitely more fun than any one person should ever have in one day! NOT! Did I mention that my new office has a glass wall? I feel like Im’ in a fish tank! I’m going to see if I can find some fish window clings to put on the glass! Enough whining about work, it was rainy this morning but the sun cam out in the afternoon and it went up into the 60’s! I got to go outside without a jacket! Pure bliss I tell you! Andrew stopped by after work and we did some more business cards. They will be in Boston this weekend for the BOSS event. They were even asked to perform! Wish them luck!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge. This week’s sketch has a tag, we know how I love those…

PCCCS088 4-09-2014

I strayed from the sketch ever so slightly, just with the sentiment. The base of the my card is Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumb Cake Ink. My two strips of Designer Series Paper and the butterfly are from the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper Pack. For my tag I used a piece of Calypso Coral that I stamped with the Positively Chevron Background Stamp in Calypso Coral and punched it out with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. The greeting is from the Chalk Talk stamp set and is stamped in Gumball Green and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it at an angle on to the tag. The flower is from the Petite Petals Stamp Set and is stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch and adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The butterfly is punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot as well. Some Basic Jewels Pearls in the middle of the flower and the butterfly along with a piece Linen Thread through the top of the tag complete the card. It’s been a while since I used the Epic Day This and That DSP. I forgot how much I like the colors and the distressed look of the paper. Take a minute to pop on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery too so we can see how you interpreted the sketch! Thanks so much for stopping by for my mid-week post! I hope you have a very happy Hump Day! 🙂

I’m very happy to report that the weather here yesterday was quite nice, we got into the high 50’s! That feels a lot better than the low teens! After work I stopped by my parents to get Winston and see little Daniel, he’s still just as cute! I stopped home and started a card and then went over to my friends Brian and Kim’s for taco night! Heather was there too. I love taco night, it’s so much fun and the tacos are always delicious! It’s always great to see the little princesses too! I came home and finished my card and had some coffee. I drink about 6-8 cups of coffee a day and most of them after I get home! Sometimes I wish it had the desired effect and kept me up up but I think that I’m immune to it! LOL! What were you all up to?

It’s Wednesday so that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch this week…

PCCCS087 4-02-2014

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly what Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper I wanted to use. The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper along with the large flag. The large stamped image is from the Tea Party Stamp Set and is stamped once in Pear Pizzaz and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits and again in Wisteria Wonder. I cut out the tea cup with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the Pear Pizzaz one with a Stampin’ Dimensional. It’s backed it with a piece of Crushed Curry cut out with the same Framelits and adhered that to the card also with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The small flag at the top is Soft Suede cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits and some Wisteria Wonder is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. In the lower right is a greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. The large flower is from the Petite Petals Stamp Set, stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch. A few Basic Jewels Pearls in the middles of all of the flowers completes the card. I do love the Tea Party Stamp Set and don’t use it enough! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see what you do with the sketch. So we are less than a week into spring and we got some snow last night. Excuse me, Mother Nature, I think you’re a little confused. Spring is supposed to be flowers and warmer weather, not freezing cold and snow. Let’s get it together! I’ll give you until next week to get this whole thing straightened out. Thanks! LOL! At work yesterday I found myself on a 14 foot ladder putting signs up around the office. There really is no limit to what they’ll have me do there. Last night Andrew stopped by and threatened to make a card again. Stay tuned to see what happens! 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog with this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS086 3-26-2014

I made another Easter card, I figured it would be good to get some use out the stamp set before the holiday has passed! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. The background is a piece of Island Indigo on the left and some Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper on the right. For the panel in the middle, I used a piece of Gumball Green backed with some Smoky Slate to serve as a base for my three eggs from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set stamped in Island Indigo, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango. I cheated a little and used the Extra Large Oval Punch to cut out the eggs. Five banners, punched out with the Banner Punch from Tangerine Tango, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Island Indigo, are adhered underneath the panel which is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little sheep and greeting are also from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and are stamped in Smoky Slate; the sheep is cut out with my Paper Snips and the greeting with the Word Bubbles Framelits. That Watercolor Wonder DSP works pretty well with everything, don’t you think?! So there is my Easter card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take some time to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team members have for you as inspiration and don’t forget to post your card in the gallery so we can see your spin on the sketch! Have I mentioned that it’s still pretty cold here?! I’m hoping that when the first day of Spring arrives that weather just changes! What do you think the chances of that happening are?! I can always hope! LOL! Yesterday is a bit of a blur, work was busy and I came home and worked on some projects and by the time I looked at the time it was 9:30. My neck is feeling a little better, I followed some advice from Grace and it helped immensely! Thanks! 🙂

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS085 3-19-2014

My obsession with tags continues! LOL! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack. My tag is created with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Whisper White. I stamped the images from the Petal Parade Stamp Set in Pistachio Pudding, you can also just see one of the flowers, stamped in Summer Starfruit, peeking out from underneath. My bird is from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Black on Sahara Sand and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits. I used my Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Markers to give him some color. A piece of twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is threaded through the top and left long to give it some “movement”. Tucked under the tag is a piece of Vellum Card Stock that I flagged and the greeting that is form the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set stamped in Basic Black. To finish the card I used one of the In-Color Boutique Details Buttons. So what do you think? I love that little bird and we already covered the tags! LOL! I thank you for coming by to see my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful here on Long Island, it got up to 60 degrees and was sunny, just perfect! We are headed back down to the teens on Thursday but it was nice to get a taste of spring. I got in my car after work, which was not my favorite place yesterday (LOL!) and put the top down and listened to Geeky Girl all the way home. Last night I relaxed, watched some YouTube videos and made a few cards. A nice way to end a wonderful day!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog with the rest of the Design Team for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS084 3-12-2014

A nice simple sketch that leaves a big space for fun on the bottom half! My card starts off with a base of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. The top part of the background is a piece of Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper with some Crisp Cantaloupe 3/8″ Stretch Trim Ribbon along the bottom edge. I stamped my greeting from the Another Great Year Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay on Very Vanilla and that takes up the bottom part of the background. The wish big is from the same set and so is the cupcake. I used the Banners Framelits Dies to cut out the wish big that I stamped in Gumball Green. The cupcake is stamped in Summer Starfruit and is cut out with my Paper Snips and backed with a piece of Raspberry Ripple that I Punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The three dots of Basic Gray, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green are punched out with the Itty Bitty Bits Punch Pack. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Across the top of the banner are some sequins with Basic Jewel Rhinestones in the center. Some more sequins are randomly scattered around the greeting too. A fun eclectic card that would work well for anyone! I’m happy that you came but to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and say hi by entering you card in the gallery. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Happy Hump Day peeps! It’s still chilly here but we’re supposed to go up a few degrees today and continue until we finally hit the 40’s by Friday! Not much to report about from yesterday. It was a quiet day at work and Andrew came over last night and we worked on some design stuff for Satellite Lane. They have a big announcement coming up next week, so stay tuned for that! I’ll be at their show on Friday as well and I’ll be sure to have some pictures for you.

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS083 3-05-2014

I decided to use some much neglected supplies for today’s card, my Epic Day This and That goodies! Today’s card base is Calypso Coral and the background is a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper. The panel in the middle is another piece of the DSP backed by a piece of Basic Gray and the left side is cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits. The two chevrons are from the Chevron Punch Kit-Digital Download and are cut out with my E-Cutter from a piece of Crumb Cake. The sticker in the middle is from the Epic Day This and That Designer Stickers. I backed it with some Whisper White and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The paper clip is one of the Hung Up Cute Clips. Lastly, the greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set; it’s stamped in Basic Gray on Pool Party and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I really am having a lot of fun with the E-Cutter, I think the chevrons are really neat! And it was good to use some stuff that I haven’t used in a while. I appreciate you coming by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take some time to stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
