Paper Players 272

Happy Thanksgiving peeps! It’s supposed to be a nice day in the 60’s here and I’m looking forward to a little dinner with my parents and Taylor. I enjoyed my day yesterday by crafting for a bit in the morning, hanging out with Heather in the middle of the day and crafting some more last night. Heather made some scone cakes while I worked on my little on-line project and it smelled so good! I helped her out a little and played with the kitties. I also caught up on Limitless last night since I missed it on Tuesday. Still loving that show! Are you all set for today?!

One of my cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Joanne for choosing my card as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to their week’s sketch…

Paper Players #272

I see a little tag on there! LOL! The card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Altitude 6×6 Pad from last year. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A strip of My Colors Pale Aqua goes across from the left and is flagged on the right with the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Gifts of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink to color it before adhering it to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The tag is cut from some Recollections Adhesive Cork Sheet that is adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine thought the top and also adhered the tag to the panel with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A drop of Multi-Matte Medium adheres the twine to the card. The snowflake is cut from more Pale Aqua with the Simon Says Stamp Maryanne Snowflake and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Marshmallow and Aquamarine Sequins scattered from top left to bottom right complete the card. I love the swoop of the twine and the sequins, they give the card a little “motion”! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to visit with me! Have a terrific Turkey Day filled with friends, family and love! 🙂

Thursday, another week flying by! It was overcast most of the day yesterday with the occasional peek of sun. I managed to get some projects finished and straightened up a bit more. I spoke to Andrea on FaceTime and also saw Taylor for a bit. Last night after dinner I was speaking on Facebook Messenger to a friend of mine, Gita. I haven’t seen her in a long time but she messaged me the other day to tell me that she was enjoying my pins on Pinterest and we chatted for a bit about crafty things. Today she messaged me to tell me that she had made a card for her parent to celebrate Diwali, the Indian celebration of lights. I asked her to send me pictures of any of her projects and I want to share her card with you today. I think it’s beautiful and it really evokes the feeling of the holiday!

I love the pattern that she choose, it reminds me of a Henna Tattoo and the gems sparkle just like the lights in Diwali. Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us Gita!

Now on to my card for today which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it though I wanted to say a big thank you to Claire for choosing my card from last week as her Headliner! You can see the winners post here and my original post here! now on to this week…

I actually had two cards for this challenge but I can’t show the other one yet, it’s for my friend Isabella, it’s her Birthday today and I’m not sure if she received it yet! Happy Birthday Isabella! Isabella also shares a Birthday with my friend Christina, a very Happy Birthday to her too! My card for the challenge starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames dies to cut out a piece of Real Red and two pieces of Black 110lb. The red is adhered in the center with SNAIL and the frames are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My ornament is cut from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I made several attempts to cut out the ornament and foil it as well as heat emboss it and I wasn’t happy with the results so I went back to the old standby instead and I’m happy with the way it turned out! I hope that you are too and that you enjoyed my simple Christmas card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for sharing in my friends work and visiting today! I wish you all a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

We had a very wet and windy Wednesday! Say that fast a few times! LOL! I did spend a lot of the day indoors. I watched TV and crafted and thought about straightening up… that unfortunately didn’t happen. There is always today for that… or not! I ordered myself four new tires from TireRack.com, thanks Andrea for the suggestion. They should be here today and hopefully I will be able to find somewhere to install them! I did need new tires and I’m glad that I got the flat here instead of in Manhattan! See, there is a bright side to everything! Oh, before I forget I was reading Jennifer McGuire’s blog the other day and she linked to a story that I think all of you should read! The video isn’t really relevant but the article describes what we have all known for a long time! Click HERE to take a look!

My card for today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Guess what came yesterday… my Simon Kit! Couldn’t wait to play with that so I didn’t! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I dug in the archives and found some Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper and decided that would make a nice background for my pie! The circle is cut from some Kraft Card Stock with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I stamped the apple, pie and greeting on Solar White 80lb, the apple and pie in Memento Tuxedo Black and the banner with the greeting in Simon Says Stamp Stone and Black Ink. Some coloring in of the apple and pie with my Copics before adding some Ranger Rock Candy Distress Glitter to the top of the pie and Glossy Accents to the filling and apple before cutting them out with my Paper Snips and adhering them and the greeting to the circle with Foam Tape. To balance it out I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Marshmallow and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the images. Doesn’t that apple and pie look good enough to eat with the “sugar” and Glossy Accents?! LOL! I Hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I had fun making the card and I thank you for coming by to check it out! Have an amazing Thursday peeps! 🙂

Wow! It’s Wednesday already! I spent the morning yesterday working on some projects, I’ll be in Manhattan today and staying over at Kim’s tonight coming back tomorrow night so I needed to get some stuff done! Daniel was here yesterday too so he came over and we played for a while and then watched a cartoon. He gets so mad when the ads come on! LOL! After dinner I ran to Michaels with Heather so she could get a picture framed, we stopped at BJ’s and Target on the way home too. Last night Taylor stopped by and we watched Limitless. After that it was time for bed. How is your week going?

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I’m loving the new Stitched Leaves Dies form Lawn Fawn, perfect for this challenge! The card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of Bronze Card Stock down the left side. The panel is a piece of Early Espresso that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Card Die and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next up are the leaves that are cut from Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist and more Bronze with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves Dies. They are adhered to the panel with Glue Dots. A few American Crafts Halloween and Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Bronze Sequins complete the card. Super clean and simple with nice warm colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for taking some time out of your day to see what I’ve been up to! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Yet another nice day again yesterday but the weather men say that that might be it for a while. I hope they’re wrong! LOL! Brian came by yesterday to help me with a big project that I’m working on. I’ll tell you more about it next week! We ran over to Monty’s to grab some pizza for lunch. I spoke to Michael for a bit when we got back and after Brian left I worked on some projects and then went next door and played with Daniel. We had dinner and then back to working on some projects before enjoying my one TV show, Limitless. Let’s hope that this one stays on!

It took me a while to see past the traffic light colors and come up with Christmas! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock that is cut to 4 1/2″ and the front is covered in a piece of Cucumber Crush that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Squares. A piece of Real Red is cut out with the Small Stitched Squares and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL to serve as my background. To create my little “scene” I cut out some Silver Foil Sheet with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Ovals. The gingerbread men are from the Lawn Fawn Oh Snap Photopolymer Stamp Set, the rest of the images are form the Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set. I colored them all in with Copics and then used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. All of them are adhered to the “tray” with SNAIL except the mug, I used Foam Tape for that. For the greeting I cut out some Solar White 80lb with the merry christmas from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees Craft Dies and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My tray is adhered with SNAIL. For little added interest I put some Glossy Accents on the candy canes and coffee in the mug and some Black Glaze Pen over the eyes and mouth on the gingerbread men. Some Enamel Dots from Recollections around the greeting complete the card! I think that Santa will be happy to see that got two of each treat don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge! Thank you very much for coming by today! I wish you a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

It was another beautiful day here yesterday and looks to be the same today. I stayed in for a good part of the day and worked on some projects and FaceTimed with Andrea for a while. Last night I ran over to see Heather and FaceTimed with Jules for a bit with she was on break. She works at Heathrow for their version of the TSA and was having a latte in Costa! I’ll be heading into Manhattan in a bit to work at The Ink Pad again today, so if you are in the area stop by and say hi!

Before I get to this week’s card for the Paper Players card I wanted to thank Lisa for choosing my card for her Cut Above from last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post here and my original post here!

I was inspired by Michael’s bright colors in his work to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool with some Twisted Citron, Hickory Smoke and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the background. My greeting is from an old Paper Pumpkin Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The cool skull is from the Simon Says Stamp Sugar Skulls Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I used my Copics to color him in and then added some Stardust Stickles on some areas for a little sparkle. He’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Essentials By Ellen Iridescent Grey Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. A really bright card for me but I do love that Sugar Skull! That was a pretty nice Tuesday! Work was just as expected and the training was even more fun that I thought it would be (insert sarcasm)! It was an overcast day but didn’t start to drizzle until around 4:00. When I got home I stopped at my house and watched some YouTube videos before heading out to dinner with the family. We went to the George Martin Burger Bar in Massapequa, Erika works there. It’s a new restaurant, it’s only been open for about three weeks. The food was really good and the place is nice. I even have a family picture for you!

Burger Bar Dinner 9-2015

From left to right: Erika, my Dad, Mum, Aunt Janet, Me, Uncle Steve, my Brother and little Daniel who is always ready for a picture! When we got home I stayed outside talking to my Uncle until it started to rain around 9:30. A very nice evening indeed!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her Headliner for last week’s challenge!! You can see my original post here and the winner’s post here. Now on to this week and it’s a sketch…

I used some more goodies from the My Mind’s Eye My Story Collection. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black. On top of that is a piece of paper from the My Story 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered a piece of My Story Washi Tape to some Solar White 110lb and then adhered it across the middle with SNAIL. The main panel is a journaling card from the My Story Collection and it’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. One of the buttons form the My Story Chipboard Buttons has some Hemptique Baker’s Twine tied in a bow though it. It’s already got adhesive on the back so that’s what holds it in place. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Recollections Enamel Dots finish the card. I do love the colors in the My Story collection and the journaling card makes for a different way to add a greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! I thank you for visiting with me today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

TGIW! LOL! We are at the halfway point, didn’t you miss the countdown to Friday?! I didn’t! Ha! The office reared it’s ugly head yesterday and I was super busy but the day did move along quite rapidly. After work I had some quality time with little Daniel, he is such little man now! And fresh! You don’t get kisses anymore! Cheeky little devil! When I got home it was time to change the faucet in the kitchen that my lovely daughter broke while I was away. Thankfully, my dad came over and helped. There is nothing that man can’t do. When that was finished I ran to Michaels to pick up some stuff for card class and tonight I will be off to cut for said class. 🙂

I have been enjoying coloring with my copics and when I saw this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #263

I knew just want I wanted to use! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Hello Honey that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles. The bottom is a piece of Soft Suede also cut with the same die and then again with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. I traced across the slope with a pencil and then stamped the corn stalks from the Lawn Fawn Happy Harvest Photopolymer Stamp Set in Old Olive using generation stamping. The background is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. All of the rest of the images and greeting are from the same set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. They are all cut out with the Lawn Cuts Happy Harvest Dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL. I love the cute images in the stamp set and I’m really enjoying coloring with the copics! Wow! It’s Wednesday! The week is moving way too quickly, I know I never thought that I would say that either! The weather here was nice again although it did get a little humid in the evening. Work was productive which is always good. Little Daniel was at my parent’s again and he came over to my house with me for a little while. He found the Big Shot and needed to know how that worked. The look of amazement on his face was priceless! Maybe he will be crafty when he grows up! The rest of my evening was quiet, I Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and then played with a new fountain pen that I got from Jetpens.com. I have always been a fan of them and have quite a few but you can never have too many pens! LOL!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

Paper Players #259

I wanted another bright card before the Summer comes to an end so I reached for some fun paper! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the Pattered Paper is from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad. The card front is completely covered in a piece. The banner is cut out using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Dies and the circles using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the circles to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Lost Lagoon is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle Die and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon with the right side flagged and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. I do love all of the bright colors and fun designs in that paper pad and that Smile die is still a favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Ahh… the middle of the week. It was nice here again yesterday, I snuck out of work and went and had lunch with Michael, a nice way to break up the day. It was a quiet evening, I had dinner and then watched a little TV and made a card. Today I have to go to one of the other sites for work, that should be fun. Can you feel my enthusiasm?! LOL! Only two more days to go!

The Paper Players has a fun challenge this week, clean and simple beach…

Paper Players #258

I got some new stuff that I thought would be perfect for it! Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered with a piece of Bermuda Bay. My background is a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 Dreamy Paper Pad. I thought a shaker would be fun so I used the Simon Says Stamp Hello Sunshine Frame Die to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I inlaid the sunshine back into the frame and then adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back. Some Foam Tape along the edges seals in my mix of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Spring Mix Sequins. The sun is also from the same die and is cut out from some Daffodil Delight and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. A simple bright fun shaker card that definitely makes me think of the beach! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players beach theme! Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
