Paper Players 155 & Sneak Peek!

Hello my friends and a good afternoon to you! I had this great idea that after I landed this morning I would come home and make a card and get my post done. Well, that didn’t happen! I passed out! Sorry for my lateness. My time at Convention was amazing and I have made so many new friends and I think that was definitely the best part. Of course the new product announcements were pretty cool too! But the people part of the equation made the whole experience one that I will never forget. I’ll be posting some pictures over the next couple of weeks, I hope that you enjoy them. Here is my first one for you. Did you ever meet someone and it feels like you have known them forever, that would be how it was with my new bestie Brian King. He is an incredibly talented, funny and kind person. Now if only he didn’t snore… just kidding!

That’s us in front of Stampin’ Up! Headquarters in Riverton. I’m so happy for his success and look forward to what is in store for next year!

So, I can’t forget to tell you about the specials and new goodies that we have going on at the moment. We have a Designer Series Paper deal for you. If you buy three packs of DSP at regular price you get one pack of equal or lesser value for FREE! You have until July 31st to get this great deal!

There will also be some really awesome new Thinlits available on August 1st. They cut and score a flip card in one easy step and include dies for embellishments too!

LPHeader_thinlits_Demo_7.19.13

How neat is that?! These Thinlits make it super easy to mass produce interactive cards that would be great for invitations, announcements or Christmas cards. I know I can’t wait to get mine! 🙂

Ok, now on to today’s card that is for this week’s Paper Players clean and simple challenge from Jaydee…

Paper Players #155

Continuing on with my sneak peeks of products from the new Holiday Catalog that will be available on August 1st, just a little over a week from now! The base of my card is Costal Cabana Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used some Bushed Silver Card Stock and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to cut out the snowflake. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set* and is heat embossed with Smokey Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I flagged the left side and threaded it through the snowflake. A sliver of Costal Cabana with some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle to finish it off. I’m having so much fun showing you the new goodies and can’t wait for you to get your hands on them! Thank you so much for coming by to see my Paper Players card for this week’s challenge. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Paper Players 154 & Sneak Peek

Happy Monday! Yes, happy Monday because I only have today and tomorrow at work and then I’m off to Salt Lake City! I had a very nice weekend, got some peeps time and crafting time in so it was great! I finished most of my projects yesterday and will be working on the remainder tonight. I feel like a little kid going to Disney! Can’t wait to see everyone! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week we have a color challenge from the lovely Nance…

Paper Players #154

A great combination of colors indeed! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Bermuda Bay with the Measuring Stick Stampin’ Around Builder Wheel in Bermuda Bay. On top of that is a piece of Crushed Curry that I flagged on the bottom. The chevrons were created with the new Chevron Border Punch* from some more Bermuda Bay. I used some Baked Brown Sugar for the tag base and the ampersand and thank you are from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and are cut out with my Paper Snips. The chevrons along the bottom are from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set*, I love when there are non holiday elements in a holiday set!  A thin strip of Bermuda Bay goes across the middle and a piece of 7/8″ Natural Ribbon Trim tied with some Linen Thread finishes off the tag. I know, I’m a little obsessed with tags but the are very trendy and a fun addition to a card. Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Paper Players challenge card from this week’s color challenge from Nance. Don’t forget to check out the blog and see all of the other wonderful creations from the Design Team. I hope you have a quick and productive Monday!

Paper Players 153 & Another Big Sneak Peek!

Is it Monday all ready?! I was having such a nice weekend! The weather was hot but gorgeous here, like summer should be! Lots of convertible time and crafty time, the best kind of weekend! I hope that all of you also had a good weekend. I have been feverishly working on swaps and projects for while I’m away at Convention. I have a ton more to do but I love it!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time around we have a Christmas in July challenge from the fabulous Ann…

Paper Players #153 Christmas In July 7-07-2013

The perfect challenge for me to use some of my new goodies from the 2013 Holiday Catalog! The base of my card today is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. While I was rummaging through my craft supplies the other day I came across the Photo Corner Punch that I had purchased from the Clearance Rack last year. You could easily recreate the look with the new Squares Collection Framelits. I used the punch with some of the new Island Indigo Textured Card Stock for the corners on my card. The stamp in the Middle is the Wonderful Wreath Stamp* and is inked in Bermuda Bay. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to make the little red berries and cut it out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies. It’s backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I flagged on both ends. The greeting is another piece of the Island Indigo Textured Card Stock that I cut out with the new Expressions Thinlits Dies*. I love the blues and red together for Christmas, as you will remember from last year I’m not a huge fan of red and green! And the Thinlits dies will fast become a favorite of mine for sure! Thanks so much for stopping by to see my Paper Players card for this week’s Christmas in July challenge from Ann. Check out the blog to see the other designers work too! I hope you have a good Monday! 🙂

Paper Players 152

And there goes another weekend, just flying by! I had a great weekend and I hope that you did too! Manhattan, Fire Island, friends and fun… who could ask for more?! It’s Monday and we are back to Paper Players on Monday’s. I will really miss being a Guest Designer on the blog. They really are some of the nicest ladies I have had the pleasure to work with! Enough whining! LOL! On to the post!

Today’s post – Paper Players 152, Tic-Tac-Toe from LeAnne…

Paper Players #152 Tic-Tac-Toe 6-30-2013

I love the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Do we all remember when I was fool enough to do the whole board?!?! Well, this time I choose the middle row down, Blue, Bling & Friendship. The base for my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I cut out some flags form the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper, a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and a piece of Costal Cabana. The greeting consists of a circle that I punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and I used the Label Love Stamp Set and the Artisan Label Punch for the actual greeting. The chevrons going to the right are punched out using the Hexagon Punch, a piece of Costal Cabana 1″ wide is marked off on the back at 1/4″ intervals and punched. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones randomly placed complete the bling! Thank you very much for coming by to see my Paper Players card for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from LeAnne. You should head on over to the blog to see what the clever ladies have for inspiration! I hope that you have a great Monday!

Paper Players #151 :-)

Hello everyone! How is your weekend going so far. I ended up not going into Manhattan yesterday morning so my friend came out on the train. I picked her up at the station and we stopped at Target on the way home. We had some lunch and then chatted for a bit before heading out to the mall. Kim needed some new work clothes so we got those and then we met my friend Anthony for dinner. It was a very nice day and we have the Christening this morning and that should be a good time. Later on I’ll drive Kim home. Fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time around we have a sketch from Nance…

Paper Players #151 Sketch 6-23-2013

I will admit that I had a little trouble with this one at first. It’s very different but it turned out to be a lot of fun in the end! The base of the card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. The background is stamped with the Window Shop Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel in Night of Navy. I thought it was a little strong so I adhered a piece of Vellum over the to soften it a bit. All of the stamped images are from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set and are stamped in Cajun Craze. The lower one is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and pierced around the edge with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The larger one on the left is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and the lower one with the 1 1/4″Circle Punch. Two Regals Candy dots are adhered to them and one to the greeting. A piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and a simple knot is tied on the right. I think the stamp set has some great images and so does that wheel! Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s sketch challenge from Nance. Paper Players #150 :-)

Hello kiddies! How was your Saturday? Mine was great! I ran some errands and had lunch with a few friends. I had the top down in the car all day, it was gorgeous. I went to see my friend Sandy which always a good time. And, I even got some crafting done too! It was definitely a very nice day indeed. I hope your day was just as good. Thank you all for your comments yesterday, I really do appreciate them and I always reply to each one. Oh, and Happy Fathers Day!!!!

Today, being Sunday, means it Paper Players time! This week we have a Clean and Simple sketch using Bling from Anne Marie…

Paper Players #150 Bling 6-16-2013

Now who doesn’t like a little bling?! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Whisper White with the Positively Chevron Background Stamp in Bermuda Bay and adhered it to the card on a tilt. For the frame I used the Squares Collection Framelits Dies to cut the window out and some Subtles Designer Series Paper to fill it in. The image is from the Cycle Celebrations Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and again in Bermuda Bay. I cut the banner out of the Bermuda Bay piece and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Baked Brown Sugar Piece. The greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones on the soda bottle add my bling. I loved the image of the soda bottle so much that it’s what sold me on the set! Thank you for coming by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Clean and Simple “Bring on the Bling” challenge from Anne Marie. Paper Players #149 :-)

Sunday already! That Saturday just flew by. I did get a lot accomplished and I even got to watch my movie! Taylor and I watched The Source Code and it was really good! Lot’s of cool effects and things to think about. It was a nice day here yesterday, a little cloudy at times but we did get some sun. I think they said it’s supposed to get up to 81 degrees today and be a little on the humid side so I will get to finish the rest of my projects today.

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for another Paper Players Challenge. This week we have some fun colors from Ann…

Paper Players #149 Colors 6-09-2013

Some of my favorites are included in there! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla with the Beautifully Baroque Stamp in Pool Party. The panel across the top is also stamped in Pool Party using the Amazing Accent Wheel with some Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon across the middle. For the images in the center I used the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and Chalk Talk Framelits and adhered them with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final addition is a Very Vintage Designer Button with some Calypso Coral Bakers Twine tied in a bow. I really love the Beautifully Baroque stamp and how well it goes with the Amazing Accent Wheel. Thanks for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer Card for this week’s color challenge from Ann. Paper Players #148 :-)

So how was your Saturday? It was a very nice day here yesterday, warm and sunny. I went to see Pitbull and Ke$ha last night at Jones Beach Theater. It is one of my favorite places to see a concert. It’s an outdoor amphitheater right on the water, in fact the stage is in the water! Pitbull was awesome, high energy and a great show. I was surprised that Ke$ha was pretty good too! They had a DJ in between and he was great too! All in all a very nice night!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time we have a theme challenge from the superb Jaydee…

Paper Players #148 Theme Summer 6-02-2013

Summer! I pondered about what stamps to use for a while and then I remembered a “Vintage” one that is the perfect image of summer. The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tangerine Tango and before I adhered it to the card I put a little piece of the Gingham Garden Washi Tape in the upper right. The image is the “Vintage” Sail Away Stamp and I stamped it in Pacific Point and backed it with some Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set that will be “Vintage” as of Monday. I used another soon to be “Vintage” product, a Brights Collection Designer Button with a piece of Tangerine Tango in the middle. It sort of reminded me of the sun so it went with the greeting. I think the sail away image with the sketched sail boat and seagulls is perfect for summer, don’t you? Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Summer Theme challenge from Jaydee. Good Sunday to you! How is your weekend going so far? Mine is pretty good despite the rainy and cold weather we had yesterday. I did spend most of the day crafting, I have a lot of projects to do and I would like to get a little bit ahead. I did make some progress so I’ll continue on today. What is going on on by you?

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to play with the Paper Players! This week we have a sketch from the talented LeAnne…

Paper Players #147 Sketch 5-26-2013

A very different sketch from any that I have seen recently so this was fun! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. The paper rectangles are all from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack*. They have some great distressed and fun patterns in there. The greeting is form the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso. I cut out the Birthday and popped it up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the other one that is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. They are backed with a piece of Island Indigo that I cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Not an overly complicated card but the DSP really gives it some oomph! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Guest Designer card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from LeAnne. Be sure to visit the Paper Players blog and see what my fellow creative team mates have come up with and enter yours in the gallery to play along. I hope that you have some crafty time and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set! It’s called Designer Typeset! They work amazingly with our new Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads for great ink coverage. You are going to love them! This is a limited release so make sure you get one before it’s gone!

Stampin’ Up! has a sneak peek for you from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog and the best part is you can get it right now! Paper Players #146 :-)

Ahh, Sunday morning is so much nicer in the Hampton’s! LOL! It is really relaxing out here, very quiet and woodsy. My friend has a lovely little house on a very quiet street. We went to see another friend yesterday and she lives on Bluff Road, you can see and hear the ocean from her house. It is a different world out here and it’s only an hour and a half drive (off season with no traffic!) from where I live. If you are ever in the area it’s definitely a must see place! Here is a picture of the sunset last night…

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players and we have a fun CAS Masculine challenge from Ann…

Paper Players 146 CAS Masculine 5-19-2013

I decided to use one of my favorite sets from the Spring Catalog and some of the new In-Colors. The base of my card is Costal Cabana* Card Stock. I used a piece of adhesive cork sheet in the middle and flagged the bottom. The main panel is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar* using the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set backed with some Baked Brown Sugar* Card Stock. The watch is from the Dapper Dad Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The center dial is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar* and cut out with my Paper Snips. For the greeting I used the From My Heart Stamp Set and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Dapper Dad, I think is one of the best masculine stamp sets we have had and I love the way the watch looks embossed. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s CAS Masculine Challenge from Ann. Don’t forget to visit the Paper Players blog to see what the rest of the amazing design team have come up with. I hope that you have a very nice Sunday! 🙂
