Paper Players #115 – All 9!

Good Monday morning! I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I was in Manhattan most of the day yesterday visiting a bunch of friends and dropping off an order. I love Manhattan, especially when the weather cools down into the upper 60’s. My friend Kim and I had dinner at this restaurant called Nick’s on 94th and 2nd Ave. The food there is excellent, if you are ever in the area I definitely recommend it!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Anne Marie has given us this Tic-Tac-Toe challenge…

I looked at it for a while and just couldn’t decide which ones I wanted to do, so I did all nine! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Baja Breeze with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The cake is from the Love & Laughter Stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray on So Saffron. I cut it a little longer and wrapped a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom before I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The candle is punched form the Cupcake Builder Punch from Basic Gray and Primrose Petals and adhered with 2-Way Glue. The flags are Basic Gray and Primrose Petals. The trees are from the Merry Minis Stamp Set, stamped in Primrose Petals and Basic Gray, and are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack and adhered to the flags with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons are adhered to the flags with Mini Glue Dots and all have a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. The Congratulations greeting is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and the Merry Christmas is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. The “&” is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is also stamped in Primrose Petals. All of the greetings are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. So let’s see… Christmas, Sparkle/Bling, Ribbon, Buttons, Wedding, Yellow & Gray, Red & Blue, Element repeated in 3’s and Birthday… Check! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks packed Paper Players Challenge card. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Paper Players #114

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a good weekend. Mine was very busy but good. I will be sad to see my cousins go home later today. It is always fun to have them here and hopefully they will be back soon! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a sketch…

I wanted to keep this card nice and simple, I have to start thinking about making my own Christmas cards and this one would be easy to duplicate. The base of the card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flagged pieces are from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and backed it with a piece of Primrose Petals. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and is also stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Collection. I mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do like the simplicity of the card and hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in and have a wonderful day!

Paper Players #113

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Where did the weekend go?! Did you all have a good weekend? I had a nice Sunday, some shopping, some crafting. My aunts also arrived yesterday evening and we all had dinner together. I love having so much of my family around. My other cousins arrive soon, one on Wednesday and two more on Thursday. I’m really looking forward to having everyone all together it’s going to be so much fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Nance has given us a clean and simple banner challenge this week…

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to use the Merry Minis again! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of River Rock, definitely one of my more neglected colors. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the outline of the Decorative Label Punch and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I Punched out a piece of Raspberry Ripple with the Decorative Label Punch and pierced the oval in the center. The Christmas Cheer is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla. I pierced the top and bottom and flagged the ends before adhering it to the Decorative Label and that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The banners are cut from Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. The Gumball Green banners are pierced along the top and they are all adhered to the card with SNAIL. I stamped the ornaments and trees from the Merry Minis Stamp Set in Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple and punched them out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. They too are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ so glad that I got the Merry Minis set, it has proven to be a versatile and fun addition to my cards. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and have a nice day!

Paper Players #112

Good Monday morning all. I’m actually liking Monday this week because my cousin comes from England today! As Kathy mention it’s the first time I have ever said that I liked Monday! It’s been two years since I have seen almost to the day. I can’t wait for 5:00! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players. It’s sketch number 112 and my birthday is the 12th, coincidence?! This week we have a color challenge…

I’m really liking these colors! I have used the Postage Due Stamp Set a lot, it’s one of my favorites, so I needed to come up with a different way to incorporate it and here’s what I did. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used the Large Scallop Edgelits Die on a piece of Basic Black and then used the  Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to emboss it. I left it a little taller and adhered it to the bottom half of the card. I stamped the large image from the Postage Due Stamp Set in Basic Grey on some linen fabric. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and put Sticky Strip along the edge and pulled the fabric around the back and adhered it. Then I another piece of Crumb Cake cut slightly smaller the the back of that and used some SNAIL in the middle and Multipurpose Adhesive around the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying. I did the same process with one of the stamp images using Baja Breeze and adhered it to the main image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. To attach it to the card I used some magnetic tape. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Grey on Very Vanilla. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part is that you can take the main image off the front of the card and it becomes a refrigerator magnet! I also love the way the images look stamped on the linen. I hope that you enjoyed tis week’s Paper Players Challenge Card and that you are inspired to try something different. Thank you so much for visiting and for you comments. Have an amazing day!

Paper Players #111

Good morning everyone and happy Labor Day! I’m always happy on Labor Day because it’s a holiday and I have no work! LOL! I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend. I am having a good one. I got lots of stuff accomplished and made a bunch of cards too.

Before I get to today’s post I would like to thank LeAnne for choosing my card as Headliner for the Paper Players Challenge 110. I’m so glad that she enjoyed the card, it has some of my favorite colors in it and I love the Wonderfall Stamp Seta and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. You can see the original post here and the Paper Players post here. For this week’s Paper Players Challenge Jaydee has asked us to use leaves or a tree in our project…

Seeing as I had just used the Wonderfall set I decided to go with a favorite of mine that carried over from the 2011 Holiday Catalog, Gently Falling. The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of More Mustard for the background. The Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies cutout is paper-pierced with the Festive Paper -Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool. I used my Color Spritzer tool and an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to spritz the card stock before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It creates the backdrop for the wreath I made with the Gently Falling Stamp Set. I stamped the outline of all of the images in Early Espresso. The fill in colors are Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I cut all of the stamped images out with my Paper Snips and mounted them to the Window Frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso, punched out with the Word Window Punch and mounted to a piece of Riding Hood Red that I punched out with the Modern Label Punch. It too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the final touch I used one of the Brushed Bronze Designer buttons. I tied some Linen Thread through a Brights Designer Button and adhered it to the Bronze button with some Mini Glue Dots and then adhered them to the card with more Mini Glue Dots. It felt good to use one of my older sets and I like the color combination with the pops of red. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Player Challenge card and that you have a great day.Thank you so much for spending some time with me today.

Paper Players #109 – Take 2!

Lets give this another try! Apparently on Sunday I suffered from a bout of Dyslexia! I read the this week’s Paper Players Challenge as Paper Piercing… for the rest of the world it said Paper Piecing! Thank you to Sandy for bringing it to my attention. That’s the thing about blog posts, once they are out there it’s done. Thank you to the Paper Players for removing my card from yesterday, this one we can keep I hope! 🙂

Once again thank you to Jaydee for choosing my card from last week! Now on to this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The wonderful Anne Marie has given us a PAPER PIECING (just off by an R!) CAS challenge…

When I finally read it correctly I thought hmm… I don’t think that I have ever done that, well I have now! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the two layer cake images from the Make A Cake Stamp Set in Basic Black on Patio Party Designer Series Paper and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the images again in Primrose Petals and used the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out And adhered the pieces to the stamped image with 2-Way Glue. I Paper-Pierced (well, I just had to :-)) the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool. Then I cut three strips of Patio Party DSP, flagged the ends and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The stamped image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Pennant Builder Punch to make the banner across the top. Some more Patio Party DSP was inserted halfway and punched out. The Whisper White Bakers Twine needed a little something on the ends so I used some retired Twitterpated Designer Buttons mounted with Mini Glue Dots. The pennants are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Midnight Muse and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. A thin strip of Midnight muse is flagged and mounted behind it. I love the simplicity of the card and if you change the Primrose Petals out for another color you could easily use this for a guy’s birthday too. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card – take 2 and thank you for enduring my Dyslexia from yesterday! Have an amazing day!

Paper Players #109 Oops!

Updated! Apparently I should read a little better!! It’s not piercing, it’s piecing! LOL! I’ll be back tomorrow with the correct card! Ha ha ha! Wow, a little embarrassing but I did have a busy weekend so there you go! 🙂

Good morning, is it Monday all ready?! Boy did that weekend go fast. I’m happy to say that I made it through the Bridal Shower and the 70th Birthday Party unscathed. I also managed to do some major re-arranging in my house to expand my craft area. I was successful for the most part, now I just need to reorganize a little and find someplace for the few straggler items that are still in the living room. So, in the end I had a very productive weekend!

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. First, I want to thank Jaydee for choosing my card as her pick of the week for last weeks challenge! You can see the winners here and my original post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us a Clean and Simple Paper Piercing Challenge…

Paper-Piercing… I LOVE Paper-Piercing! The base of my card is Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I added a strip from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack across the bottom. The greeting is from the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut it out. The piece under that is Lucky Limeade and is cut out with the same. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Under that we have some Cherry Cobbler and I pierced the outline of the label onto that. All of the layers are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some bling I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the cut it half and adhered it to the label with the greeting using some 2-Way Glue. Last but certainly not least I used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock that I flagged the ends on and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots. I love the greeting, it’s so true and Paper-Piercing… WEE! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Paper Players #108

A good Monday morning everyone, or at least I’m hoping that it turns out to be. I always try to start the week off as optimistic as possible! Fingers crossed that we all have good weeks from now on. My brother and his fiancé were up from PA this weekend. She had her hair and makeup trial and her second to last dress fitting. It was also her birthday yesterday so we had some red velvet cake, which is my favorite! Happy Birthday Erika!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a color challenge…

I’m loving the colors! I decided that I would try to come up with a different kind of card. I love anything 3D so I did a card that has a framed front and folds flat and still fits inside a standard envelope. Another good part, it uses standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 5 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored at 1/2″, 1″, 4 3/4″ and 5 1/4″ with my Simply Scored. All of the stamped images are from the Papaya Collage Stamp Set. I cut a frame out of a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the frame image in Not Quite Navy and cut a piece out of the card base the same size as the inside of the frame. Another piece of Very Vanilla is stamped a few times with the leaves image in Crumb Cake and mounted to inside. The bird and the butterflies are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with my Paper Snips. The bird is mounted to the leaves with Stampin Dimensionals and the butterflies with SNAIL. Two Basic Jewels Pearls on each one make the bodies. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and backed with a piece of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. The piece of Cherry Cobbler along the right side was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and a thin piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper was added on top. I am really liking this card and it wasn’t to difficult to make. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and that you will be having a great day and fantastic week! Thank you for visiting!

Paper Players #107

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was great but very busy. I did get almost all of my todo list to-done so that’s a very good thing. I’m the host of card class this week and I’m looking forward to it. I’m making beans and rice with all the fixin’s for dinner, one of my daughters favorite meals.

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a back to school sketch challenge from Nance…

It was when I saw this weeks challenge that I wished I had gotten the From Your Teacher Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration! Here I was thinking when will I ever use that?!?! I opted for a class of theme. I asked my daughter when she graduates and she said 2014 so here is my back to school for the class of 2014. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit Dies with some Island Indigo and then used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool along the edge. The paper on the left is from the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper Pack and both items are adhered to the card with SNAIL. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die with the Wonderfall Stamp Set for the two leaves that are stamped in Crumb Cake. I thought the letters across them were perfect for school. The Class of and Back to School are stamped in Island Indigo using the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet and my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I paper-pierced and flagged a piece of Island Indigo for the backdrop for the numbers that are form the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and are also stamped in Island Indigo. I cut them out with my handy Paper Snips and they are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have to say that Island Indigo is definitely my favorite color especially when paired with Crumb Cake. I hope that you liked this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and that you are having a great day! Thanks so much for visiting and your comments are always appreciated.

Paper Players #106 and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone how was your weekend? Mine was good, too fast but good! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Leslie has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge…

I went with the row on the right going down, favorite color, masculine, punches. It took me a little bit to figure out what my favorite color was but after some careful thought I decided Island Indigo was it! The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock, to that I added a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper. In the upper right corner is a rosette also made from Fan Fair Designer Series Paper using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I punched a piece of Island Indigo with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and a piece of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the Itty-Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A piece of Riding Hood Red is punched with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and I placed it behind it before I adhered the rosette to the card. The bicycle image and stamp are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, the bicycle is stamped in Island Indigo and I sponged the edges with Island Indigo before I mounted it to another piece of Fan Fair DSP. The postage stamp is stamped in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and mounted to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The H and B are from the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Riding Hood Red and cut out with my Paper Snips. The “appy” and the “irthday” are from the From My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Riding Hood Red and dissected with my Paper Snips. I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I love the images on the Fan Fair DSP, the cancelled stamp looks like it’s really stamped on the paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and thanks as always for visiting! Have a great day!
