Paper Players 305

Well hello Thursday! One day closer to the weekend! My Wednesday was really good! I got my Notions Order at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, most of it was supplies for upcoming classes and some goodies for me to play with! I got that all checked in a put out. Renee had her all occasions card class and there were people in and out all day. I managed to get my card for today done at the store again! After I left the store I headed straight over to Heather’s and we ran to BJ’s. We both had a few things to pick up, I needed stuff to bring to work and Heather had to get some goodies for tomorrow night. We dropped my stuff off at my house on the way back to her place. She made me dinner when we got back and then we sat outside and binge watched YouTube! Not a bad way to spend an evening at all! Today I have to make sure that I finalize all of my orders for the new Holiday goodies! Can’t wait to get them in!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #305

The base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Forest Floor Bold Pints Background Stamp and Altenew Soft Lilac Ink to stamp a piece of Solar White 110lb. From a piece of Black 110lb and Gold Mirror Card I cut two strips and added a flag to the left sides before adhering them under the stamped panel which is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up I used the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Dies to cut out another piece of Gold Mirror Card and that is adhered to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My flower and leaves are from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Altenew Jet Black, the flower in Buttercream and the leaves in Frayed Leaf Crisp Ink. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. I cut it out with one of the dies from the Spellbinders Hipster 1 Die D-Lites. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I know and you all know how much I love that Gold Mirror Card, it just adds so much and the Altenew Flowers are definitely a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! I appreciate your visit and I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Ahh… Thursday! What a nice day I had yesterday! The weather was perfect, in the low 80’s, the top was definitely down in the car! Renee and I had a fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. We both got a lot accomplished and I feel a little bit more caught up! When I got home I had my dinner and then ran out and got gas in the car. When I got back to my house I had another conference call with my friend Greg. I love talking to him, such a great person! As I retreated to the Stampin’ Gallery my friend Sue called and I was on the phone with her for the rest of the evening. We got all caught up! Today I have my Ink Blended Backgrounds Class at the store! I’m looking forward to that!

The Paper Players have a fun watercolor challenge this week…

Paper Players #304

I have been wanting to use my Finetec Watercolors again, perfect challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock. I heat embossed all of my images and greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. They are all colored in with the Finetec Metallic Watercolors. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive adheres the panel to the card, it’s my favorite adhesive to use, especially when you are mounting a watercolored or heat embossed piece that has a little warping. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Wood Veneer Stars to finish the card. I do love those Fintec Watercolors, they have such great coverage and are perfect for using on dark cardstock! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Player Challenge! Thank you for stopping by the blog today! I wish you all a happy Thursday! 🙂

Wow! I can’t believe that it’s Wednesday already! I had a very nice conference call with my friend Greg in the morning and got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store around 12:00. I had lots of catching up to do so that’s exactly what I spent the day doing! Almost there! After work I had dinner and then Heather came by and got me so we could do a BJ’s run. She dropped me off and as happens most times I headed over to her house for a little early Thirsty Thursday. We chatted and talked with her neighbors upstairs. A nice evening after a rough day. I do have a fun picture to share with you of Daniel and Tristan today. My brother is a very good photographer and sometimes you just capture that moment, one that I think is just absolutely precious…

Daniel & Tristan

OMG! I can’t stand the level of adorable! LOL! I know that I’m biased but that is an amazing picture! He does love his little sister!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS203 DT Sketch 7-20-2016

I got this fun background stamp from Hero the other day and have been dying to use it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Coastal Cabana down for my background. The lower half is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I heat embossed the Hero Arts Wave Pattern Background Stamp in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Evergreen Bough and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to it. I then cut the top at an angle to match the sketch and adhered it to the card. My tag is another piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out using the Sizzix Tags & Word Frames & Stamps Set. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner over a piece of Island Indigo that I flagged both of the ends on. My seahorse, shell and little seahorse are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the seahorse in Mint Julep, Sea Glass and Cup O Joe. The shell is stamped in Soft Brown and Sea Glass and the little Seahorse in Sea Glass. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them all out and added them to the card. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Cup O Joe. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feathers, Sparkling Clear and Espresso Sequins to complete the card. I love that funky background stamp with emboss resist ink blending on it, I think goes quite well with the Seahorse! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! I thank you for taking the time to stop by and see me today! Have a wild Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Players 303

A very happy Friday to you my friends! It was a muggy one here yesterday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was filled with happy people making their cards at the July Card Class featuring Reverse Confetti! We do have so much fun! Andrew and Kayleigh were back! So great to see them both! I had Blaze pizza for lunch and finished it for dinner. Right around 6:00PM it rained and thundered and lightening for about 30 minutes and that actually made the humidity worse. It was a drive home with the AC on kind of evening! I stopped by Heather’s for Thursday Thursday and Stephanie and Brian were there. Around 11:00 Heather had a craving for White Castle so her, Stephanie and I put the top down in the car and went to get some. We drove around like teenagers with the music up nice and high! When I got home around 12:30 I settled in to make a quick card for today. What makes me think that heat embossing and watercoloring is quick I’ll never know! LOL! Today we have the second day of card class and this morning I’m going to visit Taylor, her tonsillectomy went well but she misses her dad!

That “quick” card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #304

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. It’s flicked with some water and then blotted with a paper towel. To give it a little more interest I cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Stackables Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flower is from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Platinum Embossing Powder onto another piece of Watercolor Card. I used Picked Raspberry and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks and a Water Brush to color it in. The Coordinating Die is used to cut it out and it’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner. My greeting is from the same set and is also heat embossed in Platinum. I flagged the right and tucked the left side under the stem. Some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Sparkle & Shine Sequins and a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added and the card is done! I do love that water spotted background and the flower from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Set is just gorgeous! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a fantabulous Friday! 🙂

The weather… it’s very warm but I think that it’s just perfect! There is always a nice breeze by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store due to our close proximity to the water. Some more orders arrived yesterday and they got entered and put out. My friend Robyn from Canada came in a got her very first Big Shot! I told her there is no turning back now! LOL! It was definitely a top down kind of day all day! It always makes any kind of ride in the car better, even the one home from the store! My Parent’s had a burger waiting for me when I got home and it was yummy! After dinner I ran over to see Heather. We just needed a night to ourselves! We did run out to BJ’s to pick up a few things. After a nice long chat I headed home to make my card for today. At the store I have my Heat Embossing 101 Class! You know how I like to heat emboss! They will be pro’s by the time we are finished!

The idea for my card for today popped into my head on the way home from Heather’s. It’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #302

Ahh, it seems like forever since I made a Christmas card! I could almost feel the chill in the air as I crafted last night, or that may have been the air conditioner! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out part of my background from a piece of Black 110lb Card. It cut off the bottom so that’s where I decided that I would heat emboss my sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the greeting with Dot Runner. The skyline is cut from some, yup, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card using the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die. I adhered that to the card with more Dot Runner, using the lower edge to cover the seam between the greeting and the top part of the background. My tree is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Hero Arts Lime Green, Green Hills and Forever Green with the final layer heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and some Foam Tape holds it in place! A nice simple card that reminds me of the tree in Rockefeller Center at Christmas time! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Christmas in July challenge! Thank you for taking a little time to come by and see me today! I wish you a Merry… wait… too early! LOL! I wish you all a wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Paper Players 301 & Special Sneak Peek!!

MMH_Logo_TB

A very happy Friday to you all! The weather here has been just amazing this week! I keep sneaking out of the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to enjoy some sunshine! Renee was off yesterday enjoying a day with her children so I was manning the fort alone! I did have quite a few visitors! My friend Dianne stopped by and another friend that I haven’t seen in a long came by too and we had a nice long chat and g0t all caught up! Customers were in and out all day picking up special orders and discovering new goodies! Oh how I love my job!! When I got home my Parent’s were still out at my Brother’s spending time with Daniel so I had a sandwich for dinner and then headed over to see Heather for a the evening. We ran out and did a few errands and then just sat outside and enjoyed the evening! And here we are at the end of the week before a nice long Holiday weekend! I have off on Sunday and Monday! YAY! I can catch up on some things around the house! LOL! 😛

Today I have a very special treat for you! I have a sneak peek of the My Monthly Hero Kit for July and it is just awesome! You are going to love it! I can’t stop playing with it! So many cool goodies! As soon as the kit goes on sale July 5th at 1:00pm EST you are going to have to move fast because it’s going to go QUICK! The first card that I made with the kit also happens to be for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

Paper Players #301

To create my card today I took a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock cut to 6″ x 4 3/4″. To it, I added some Hero Arts Cornflower, Soft Lilac and Soft Pink Ink with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending tool creating a nice Ombre background (I was inspired by one of the items in the kit!). On background I stamped a few of the images from the cool Stamp Set in Hero Arts Charcoal Ink. The panel is then trimmed to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and  adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My turtle is also from the stamp set and is stamped in Hero Arts Wet Cement Ink, there are coordinating dies for the stamps but I used my trusty Scissors for this guy! A piece of Vellum has one of the greetings from the set heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. I put a little Foam Tape on the back of the turtle to adhered him to the Vellum and then another layer behind the Vellum to adhere my panel to the card. A piece of twine is tied in a bow around the lower half of the Vellum and some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape is placed behind the greeting to keep everything in place! Just for a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins around the turtle and the card is done! I love that turtle, isn’t he neat?! The shadow images of the fish and turtles against that cool background are so much fun too! See, didn’t I tell you that it was awesome! I hope that you enjoyed your little sneak peek of the July My Monthly Hero Kit and my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! I’ll have more sneak peeks of the Kit through Tuesday, July 5th when it officially launches on the Hero Arts Store! You can see even more sneak peeks over at the Hero Arts Blog so be sure and check that out too! Thank you for coming by today to share in some of my excitement and I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 300!

I am one tired guy! LOL! Super busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Three orders arrived and Renee had some computer issues. My friend Sue came up for a little bit to help, she’s so good to me! It’s her Birthday today!! Happy Birthday Sue!! She said that she may stop by the store later on today! I hope that she does! I have a very special card that I made just for her! We had a couple new customers, that’s my favorite part! Getting to help the customers and share my love of creating! Sounds corny but it’s true! When I got home I had some dinner at my parent’s and then tried to get some things accomplished around the house but instead I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley and crafted for a few hours while chatting with my friend Eva! Felt good to sit in my little room and create! Tonight I have the Intro to Altenew Class, can’t wait to make some cards with my peeps!

Today I’m playing along with the Paper Players for their 300th Challenge! The theme is Celebration, how appropriate…

Paper Players #300

I dusted off an oldie but a goodie to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Basic Gray and heat embossed my fireworks from The Ton’s Pyrotechnics Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Silver Pearl and Gold Tinsel and WOW! Spring Breeze Glitter Embossing Powders. My frame is cut from a piece of Gold Mirror Card using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Acetate and adhered that to the back of the frame with Scor-Tape. A layer of Foam Tape is added and some Gold Chunky Glitter and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Flat Mix is sprinkled in the card. I adhered the window part to the card and then used the Essentials by Ellen Zipper Panel Dies to cut out the word Celebrate from some more Gold Mirror Card. That is adhered to the window with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the card is done! I wish you could see the card in person because the pictures don’t do it justice! The way the fireworks sparkle when you move it back and forth in the light is amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Paper Players 300th Challenge! Thank you, as always, for stopping by. You guys make my days amazing! Have a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

Another stellar day here weather wise! Top down in the Saab to and from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I had a ton of stuff to get done and with a little help from my friends Sue and Brian it all did get finished! I had a Lawn Fawn, Hero Arts and Notions order to check in, price and put out. I also had to cut for class. I never realize just how complicated the class cards are until I go to cut! Brian helped with the mountains and Sue and I did the rest! When I arrived home I had some dinner and finished up my laundry, ran out to get gas and then did a late night run to Target. I think I also snuck a little 20 minute nap in there! Today I need to rearrange some things in the store and finish up prep for class, just a few small things left to do. I also have another Hero order coming today, hopefully! Fingers crossed! I really hope to get to have some time to play with the new goodies that came in!

My card that I sat down and made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #299

I had no Dapper Denim so I went with Night of Navy! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the DCWV Maps, Text & Ledgers Stack. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card. The little die cuts are from the June My Monthly Hero Kit and are cut from more Night of Navy. I scattered them about the card and adhered them with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Stamp Set that came with the kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Real Red. I flagged the left side and adhered that to the card with more Foam Tape. I’m a sucker for a map background and those die cuts go so perfectly with it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you for your time today! I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

The week straightened itself out yesterday, I knew that it was Wednesday! Back on track! We enjoyed some more nice weather, top down there and back to the store. Renee and I both got orders in this morning and worked on getting them out. I got a smattering of Waffle Flower to try out, I have to say that I like it! Very different! I spoke to Michael and FaceTimed with Andrea. Renee and I had Subway for lunch and for some reason it didn’t agree with me. I have also forgotten to take my allergy pill for the past two days so I have a nice sinus headache. Maybe I’ll remember tomorrow?! I also got my Lawn Fawn cards done for this month’s class! Love getting ahead! When I got home I had a sandwich at my parent’s and then took some Excedrin and waited for the headache to subside. When it finally went away I made my card for today and had a lot of fun doing it! Today I’ll be making some samples while I’m at the store, oh so nice to be crafty at work!

My card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #297

I went across the middle and the diagonal from lower left to upper right snuck in there! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts White Dye Ink. Before adhering it to the card I added a piece of Black & White Stripe Washi Tape down the right side. Next up I cut out a frame with the the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a piece of 48lb Vellum. On to the Vellum circle I heat embossed the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The frame is then adhered to the Vellum and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Once that was done I decided that the card was a little too wide so I cut 1/2″ off of the left side. All of the rest of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. The coffee and beans are stamped in Cup-O-Joe, the mason jar mug is heat embossed in Hero Arts White and the arrows are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out except for the coffee beans, those are cut out with my Scissors. The coffee cup is adhered to the mason jar mug with Dot Runner Adhesive and then it and all of the rest of the elements are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts to cut the greeting out and that too is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins. Can you tell how much I’m enjoying those new Hero Sets?! And I love that White Dye Ink, so subtle! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Thanks so much for visiting me today! I wish you all a very awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Players 296

Yesterday may have been the perfect day weather wise! It was in the 80’s with bright sun!! I drove over to the store with top down in the car and no jacket! Renee had a class and it was fun to chat with the ladies that came in. My friend Maggie had seen that I put up on Instagram that I had the We R Memory Keepers 3D Embossing Folders and asked me to mail that to her so I got that all packaged up and sent that out. We had Subway for lunch and I stopped at Aldi to get more Sweet Cream coffee creamer. I spoke to Michael for a bit and Sue too! Angie stopped by towards the end of the day and we laughed taking about kids! I also got to drive back home with the top down! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was extra sweet and cute! We sat on the front porch and looked at the planes and played catch for a while. Boy do I love that little guy! After dinner I came home and sat down to make my card. I finally got to play with some of the new Lawn Fawn! LOVE all of it!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #296

To start my card I cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the main panel for my card. I spritzed a little water on it and blotted it off with a paper towel and then hit it quickly with my Heat Tool to make sure the ink was set. I stamped some of the bubbles in Versa-Mark and covered them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set them. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts to cut out the part where the window would go. I put the panel on the base of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered the middle circle to it. On the back of the main panel I used Scor-Tape to adhere a piece of Acetate and then cut out a piece of Fun Foam with the Stitched Circles and adhered that to back with E-Z Runner. My images are from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the tail of the Merman, his crown and the school of fish. All of the images are then die cut using the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Lawn Cuts and adhered to the circle with Multi-Matte Medium. A little sprinkling of Chunky Gold Glitter and some Iridescent Flat Sequins is added and the the main panel and that is adhered the card base. My greeting is from the Big Scripty Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the hello and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally the school of fish is adhered with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I really love that ink-blended background and the super cute stamp set is great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Your visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂
