Paper Craft Crew 185

What an absolutely lovely day I had in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Barbara yesterday! The weather was gorgeous, sunny and warm. We had a steady flow of customers including a homeless man that came in to browse. He was a little unkempt but he browsed around and seemed to enjoy his little break in the store. After work I had a little issue, sometimes it’s not easy being me! I went to go and get the subway but I had no money on my MetroCard and when I went to add to it that didn’t work either! Oops! Thankfully it was a nice night for a 50 plus block walk! LOL! I can use the exercise, believe me! I met up with Kim at her apartment and we went to get a little dinner at Baker Street, they have delicious food there. After that it was back to the apartment for a little talk before calling it a night. I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Barbara again today! Fun!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge

PCCCS185 DT Sketch 3-09-2016

Love the simplicity of the sketch! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. It’s then cut out with some  Simon Says Stamp Dies that the name escapes me of at the moment! I used the same dies to cut out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. Before adhering them both to the card with Foam Tape I added a few loops of DMC Metallic Gold Thread. The large star is punched out from more Black 110lb with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents inch Pack. I added some Versa-Mark and then dipped it in Ultra Thick Embossing Powder three times. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Two of the star stamps from the Birthday Balloons Set are stamped in Onyx Black and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Basic Jewel Rhinestones are added for a little more sparkle and shine! I love the sentiment and the mix of the rhinestones and sequins is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wickedly cool Wednesday! 🙂

And it’s Thursday already! Another week just whipping by! Yesterday was another nice day here, a little colder but sunny. I went over to Heather’s for lunch and had some of her homemade chicken soup, it was delicious! We spent a little time chatting while she worked, she works from home, my ideal job! When I left Heather’s I decided that I would stop by my old office to drop off Danielle’s scarf that she left at my house a few weeks ago. It was really nice to see everyone! I do miss Danielle, Nicole, Cindy and Robin. Nancy wasn’t there, she is on vacation with her family so I will have to go back and see her. When I got back home I crafted with Andrea over FaceTime before having dinner with my parents. The rest of the evening was spent doing a little more crafting and getting sucked into watching videos of Adele’s opening night concert in Ireland. She really is just amazing! Today, I’ll be heading over to see my friend Sue and then a quick stop off to see Renee!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch from Claire

Andrea had commented that I haven’t used Stampin’ Up! in a while so I thought that today’s card would be perfect for some of the new stuff from the Occasions Catalog! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Above that is a piece of “Vintage” Brushed Gold Card Stock. My panel down the left is a piece of paper from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, I adhered it to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL. My globe and greeting are from the Going Global Clear Mount Stamp Set. I heat embossed the globe in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Ivory 110lb, the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black also on Ivory. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the globe and the greeting is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I tucked a banner cut from more Brushed Gold under the globe and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins along with a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. I do really love that stamp set and the DSP too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

I do love a day in Manhattan! It was overcast but not too cold. The trains were somewhat on-time, which rarely happens as of late! I spent the morning with Anna and Barbara at The Ink Pad. While I was there Effie from The Ton Stamps stopped in. She is such a nice person! We chatted about crafty stuff and I told her how much I enjoy her little brush lettering videos on Instagram. Around 1:00pm I made my way up to see Isabella. She is another really nice and funny person. I’m pretty lucky with all of the people that I have in my life! We got caught up and she had an appointment so I headed back to Penn around 4:00 and caught the 4:31 home, had some dinner and then chatted with Andrea for a bit before sitting down to make today’s card. This morning I must do some laundry, I’m almost out of clothes! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Ahh, I love it when the spring colors start making a comeback! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango right on the card front. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and I heat embossed the greeting from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Another flower and set of leaves from the set is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Pearls to the middle of all of the flowers to finish off the card. I love the subtleness of the flowers with nice pop of the black tag! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Did you know that Friday is still my favorite day of the week, always will be! I had a fun Thursday! I got to visit with little Daniel for a bit and then Taylor and Keira came by again. I also FaceTimed with Andrea, we do craft better together! LOL! Last night was Thirsty Thursday, more fun at Heather’s as always! This morning I’m off to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte and then to pick up Sandy from the airport. We are going to have lunch and then I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill later on tonight! A nice busy day! Tomorrow is supposed to be wickedly cold so I think that I will be spending some quality time indoors crafting!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #281

Aww, use a dog or a cat, ok! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and then used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil to apply Wendy Vecchi Metallic Gold Embossing Paste, tapping off the stitched edges. After it dried I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Solar White 80lb with the ends flagged and that’s adhered with Foam Tape. The pawesome is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Pawesome Craft Die and two more times from Solar White 80lb. I adhered them together and to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set. My little dog and crown are from the Mama Elephant Lunar Animals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored them in with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. A little Foam Tape holds him in place and completes the card. I love the stitched edge and the gold embossing paste on the pink! A fun simple birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme Challenge! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a pawesome Friday! 🙂

Yesterday was a long day! The airport in the morning, Scrap-A-Latte for a bit, over to see my friend Sue and then take Heather to the train. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little tired! It also rained here most of the day but it was warm so no complaints. Today I need to get some organizing done and then tonight is thirsty Thursday!

For my card today I have used this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe board for inspiration…

Paper Players #280

I want to thank Hannelle for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I cut a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card to 3 1/4″ wide and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to create the somewhat evening sky looking background. It’s spritzed with some water and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. My bird and branch are form the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set. The outline is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and I used Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Schoolhouse Red, Duckling, Slate and Khaki Ink to fill in the colors. For the eye I used a Sakura Black Gel Pen and Uni White Gel Pen. He is cut out with the coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium And Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set and is also stamped in Onyx Black. A little shower of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins from the top right completes the card. So, I went down the middle row! I love that bird and the easy way that you can add different colors to him! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your Thursday! 🙂

Yesterday was nice and sunny which helped melt some more of the snow! I went to the Dr. in the morning with Brian so Heather could get her shot. After that we went to the Deli and got some lunch and from there Brian dropped us back at Heather’s. She was waiting for the mattress to be delivered and when it came it was way too high with the boxspring so that has to go back. She had missed Lucifer on Monday so we watched that. I ran home to pick something up around 4:00 and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit. From there it was back home for some dinner and a little craftiness.

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

What a nice day I had yesterday! Kim made some very impressive oatmeal for breakfast yesterday morning, it had blueberries and blackberries and all kinds of other goodness in it! The cable guy showed up on time and was there about an hour. He finished and I left the apartment and headed over to see my friend Isabella. It’s always so nice to catch up with her! From there it was off to the Subway and back to Penn Station to head back out to the Island. I had a little lunch when I got home and then later in the evening Danielle stopped by to get some cards from me. I do miss seeing her and the rest of the crew but after she tells me the goings on at the office I certainly don’t miss that! LOL! Danielle left around 7:00 and I headed over to get Heather and we went to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to her house we watched some ID TV, quite addictive! Like I said, I had a very nice day!

I thought that I would mention that if you are looking for any crafting supplies you might want to head over to my friend Sue’s Etsy shop FlowerCraftEmporium! She has a lot of cool stuff for sale!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Before we get to this week I want send some love Claire’s way for selecting me as her headliner for last week’s color challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

I do love a Valentine! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of black and white Washi Tape. I used the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Red Felt and Black 110lb. They are then adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with SNAIL. My tag is cut from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Craft Dies. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black and White Baker’s Twine through the top and adhered the tag to the card with Foam Tape. Another heart is cut out with the Hearts Stackables from a piece of My Mind’s Eye Christmas on Market Street Gold Foil Vellum and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. The little red heart is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I die cut a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper along with some Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Dies. They too are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the simplicity of the card and the texture of the red felt adds that little extra something! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players CAS Valentine challenge from Sandy! Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my house and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! Well, that was avery long but fun day in Manhattan! I took the 7:01 train out of Bethpage and got into Penn Station around 8:00, late as usual. I headed over to Isabella’s and spent the morning with her, always a good time. Her brother is staying with her so I got to meet him, very nice guy. Around 1:00 I headed down to meet Kim for lunch. We went to this little place by her office and I had a delicious sandwich with grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce and olive oil. From there I went over to visit with my friend Barbara, the guy at the front desk in her building called up and said that she wasn’t there so I sat in the lobby. Around 4:25 I got a message from her asking if I got stuck somewhere and I said that I had been in the lobby since 3:50. She came down and got me and had a word with the guy at the front desk! We had a nice visit and are going to have lunch in January. After I left there I headed down to The Ink Pad to get ready for my Tags class. One of Michael’s friends from Brasil is in Manhattan and she came to the class. We had a nice time as always. Here is a picture of the happy class working on their tags…

TIP December Tags Class

And here is a picture of Carol and I…

TIP Carol and I

After class Carol waited with me because she was going the same way as I was so we took the Subway together and I made sure that she headed in the right direction back to her hotel. I made the train at Penn by 1 minute only the get home late because the were delays due to an unauthorized vehicle on the track in New Hyde Park. I finally got home around 11:00, had a cup of coffee and went to bed!

Thankfully I had made my card for today’s post on Monday night and it’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Traditional Christmas colors! My card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the front with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. Down the right side is a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. My greeting and trees are from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered the slope to the card with Foam Tape. The trees are heat embossed with more Silver Pearl on Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Paper Snips. The tree trunks are Soft Suede and they and the middle tree are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The other two tress are adhered with Foam Tape and that’s my card done! I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, so subtle yet neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I’ll have the tags that we made in class for you tomorrow! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Players 273 & New Goodies!

Another rainy day means another crafty day! I managed to get a few projects finished in the morning and then I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little bit. When I got back home there were some goodies waiting in the mailbox for me! I love new stamps and I especially love it when they are from a new company! I used some of the new stuff on today’s card and little project! After dinner I went over to see Heather for a bit, she had a procedure done on her back and I wanted to keep her company for a little while. She also needed her wreath fixed so I brought over the hot glue gun and took card of that! Upon arriving back at my house I sat down and played for a while. I have been crafting later and later, the creativity either comes early in the morning or late at night lately. I’ll take creativity whenever I can get it!

My card and project that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #273

Ahh… a Tic-Tac-Toe board from Sandy! You know how I can’t resist trying to cover the entire board, let’s see if I managed to! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background consists of a piece of Night of Navy and a piece of paper from a 6×6 pad that I picked up while I was in London. The pad is called Silent Night and it’s from First Edition by TrimCraft. A piece of Gold 1/8″ Metallic Ribbon is adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the card with some Easy Runner Grand Adhesive. The HAPPY is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Gray and adhered over the ribbon with Foam Tape. My Christmas is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Christmas Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the same die and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The snowflakes are from a new die set from Concord & 9th called Take a Bough. They are cut from American Crafts Glitter Paper and also adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are adhered in the middles of the snowflakes and finish off the card. Now that super cute Christmas Tree is also created with the Take a Bough Dies and is cut from Garden Green. After the branches are all assembled (there is a great video HERE showing you how to do that!) I slid them onto a bamboo skewer that I colored with Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink. My star is cut from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper twice and adhered back to back on the top of the skewer. Around the tree is a strand of the Concord & 9th 3MM Red Sequin Strand, it’s looks just like garland! I LOVE that little tree and the fact that you can also use the dies to make snowflakes is just cool! Get it… snowflakes… cool! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card and tree for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Let’s See Snowflake, yup, Patterned Paper, yup, White, yup, Blue, yup, Sparkle and Shine, yup, Embossing, yup, Ribbon, yes, Tree, check and Die Cuts, definitely! I covered all nine boxes! WEE! Thank you so much for coming by today! I wish you all a satisfying Thursday! 🙂
