Pals Paper Arts 160

It’s sunny Saturday here on Long Island! It rained so much yesterday and especially last night that I though I might need to think about a boat instead of a car! They said rain today too but it’s nice and bright and sunny this morning. I have a day of crafting planned to finish all of my outstanding projects, what are you up to?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 160 Colors…

PPA 160

I looked at these colors and immediately thought garden. The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of Whisper White to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and rounded opposite corners. The greeting is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I choose the images from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set. The tulips are stamped in Basic Black and the butterfly in Primrose Petals. I used the Backyard Basics Framelits Dies to cut them out. To color them in I used my Gumball Green and Primrose Petals Stampin’ Write Markers. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals give them a little pop and secure them to the card. Who doesn’t love a stamp set and coordinating Framelits?!?! Thank you for stopping by to see my Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge card. I hope you enjoyed it and that you enjoy your Saturday!

Ahh. Saturday, usually the beginning of my weekend but not this week. I’ll be working this morning at an Over the Edge Charity event. I’m supposed to rappel, I’ll let you know if it happens. If there is no post tomorrow you’ll know it didn’t go well. LOL! Kidding… I hope!! What’s on tap for your weekend?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 159, colors…

PPA 158

Definitely not a color combination that I would have thought of but they do go quite nicely together. I decided to have some fun with the Photopolymer Stamps. The base of my card is Pool Party. I created the background using the Show & Tell 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamps Sets. I created a pattern in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. The circle is Lucky Limeade and embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The image is also from the Show & Tell Sets, the letters from the Designer Typeset Alphabet. I really like how easy the stamps are to line up and the modern trendiness is great too! Thank you for stopping by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for their color challenge. I hope you have a great day and that I will see you tomorrow!

As always the weekend just flew by. It was a good weekend though. My daughter was here with me all weekend and I got some projects finished. Lots of running around too! Busy but good. How about you? Did you do anything crafty this weekend? I’m hoping this week goes nice and smoothly, we’ll see! Before I get to today’s post I wanted to thank Dawn for choosing my card in the last Pals Paper Arts challenge! In some more cool news my Especially for You card for the Control Freaks April Blog Tour is a Clean and Simple Favorite over on SplitCoast Stampers!!

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 157 a sketch from Margaret Moody…

PPA 157

I did a card with a frame last week and I really liked the way it turned out so I decided to incorporate another one in today’s card. The base of my card is Real Red and the background and all of the paper is from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. The frame is created using the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and is also used to cut out the background which is embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the plane, from the Sent with Lover Stamp Set, in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it using Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some fussy cutting and Stampin’ Dimensionals later and the frame is done. The greeting is from the same set and finishes off the card. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Card for the sketch challenge. Thank  you for spending some quality time with me today. I hope your Monday is painless!

Pals Paper Arts 156

Monday… I much prefer sunday to you! How was everyones weekend? Mine was good, car show Saturday, finished the Christening Invites yesterday, had some dinner with Heather and saw the wee ones and the child. All in all not a bad weekend at all. It was quite windy here yesterday too, I really do wish that spring would hurry up and get here. Today, I’m going to try something a little different. Rather than bore you with the step by step walk through of how I make the card I’m just going to highlight bits and give you the supply list at the end. You, of course, can tell me that you don’t enjoy it and I’ll go back to the old way. So here we go!

Today’s card – Pals Paper Arts 156 – Color Challenge. Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist…

PPA 156

The card base is Whisper white and the background is Crumb Cake embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flowers and the butterflies nicely offset the flagged banners at the top. The greeting is from Lacy and Lovely and is stamped in Crumb Cake. Honeycomb, tags and cork, my current obsessions!

Thanks for checking in, have a great day!!

And here we go again! I know I say it all the time but the weekend goes way too fast! I did have a very nice day yesterday with Kim. We stopped and did some shopping on the way back to Manhattan. I got some more much needed craft storage (M’s had a great sale yesterday!), now I just need to figure out where I’m going to put it! I got a parking space on the street and we had lunch at the diner. They have such great burgers, cooked just right, large portion and very reasonably priced! After lunch we went downtown and I stopped in at the Ink Pad (just to browse!), after that some coffee at Roasting Plant Coffee. I got home in record time and picked up Taylor, she surfed the internet and I crafted. Not a bad weekend at all!

Today I have my Pals Paper Arts card for their sketch challenge…

PPA 155

The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock, I rounded the right corners on all of the pieces with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. For the background, just a plain piece of Very Vanilla. The strips of paper are from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. The main image/greeting is the Hello, Hello Single Stamp and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and backed with a piece of the same. I think the stamp looks great with some of the flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I punched some out in Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots. It needed one more thing… ahh… some Basic Jewels Pearls in the center of the flowers, that’s just what it needed! I adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Nice, simple but not too simple. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts card for the sketch challenge. I thank you, as always for stopping by and I hope that you have as best Monday you can! 🙂

Yup, it’s Monday again! Ugh! Anyway, enough complaining. Did you all have a good weekend? I had a nice one. I spent some time with the child and got some crafting done. Next weekend I’m going to try and fit in some relaxing, we’ll see how that goes. The weather you ask… LOL… it was a bit chillier than they said it was going to be yesterday but I have high hopes for today. High as in temperature!

Today I have my Pals Paper Arts card for you. This time the fine folks over there have given us a color challenge…

PPA 154

A different color combination, not one that I would have thought of. The base of my card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. The paper I used for the background is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. For the greeting I choose the Vintage Verses Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration. I stamped it on a Very Vanilla Square in Calypso Coral and backed it with a piece of Calypso Coral. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the middle of a piece of Raspberry Ripple and adhered it over the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flower is punched out from a piece of Calypso Coral with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and there is a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle. I stamped the butterflies from the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set, also from Sale-A-Bration, in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla. They are adhered to the card with Mini Glue Dots and I slightly bent the wings up a little. I like the color combination a lot more than I thought I would. The three colors actually go quite well together. I hope you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge card and as always, thank you very much for visiting! I hope you have an interesting Monday!

Pals Paper Arts 153

I say it every Monday but the weekend just flew by! I was in Manhattan yesterday morning, I slept late so I missed breakfast but did have lunch with Kimmie. I took the train in so I got some stuff done on my iPad which was nice. The subway at 34th Street smelled unusually like a bathroom today, always a pleasant way to begin a ride. I hope that you all had a nice weekend, albeit a short one. 🙂

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts sketch. First, thank you to Mary Fish (one of the first blogs I followed!) for choosing my card for her pick! You can see the winners list on Pals site here and my original post here. Now for today’s card we have a sketch from Margaret Moody…

PPA 153

I decided to keep my card very monochrome. The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. I rounded three of the corners with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and did the same to the Whisper White background piece. The Let’s Celebrate and the cake are from the Make a Wish Stamp Set and both are stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The cake is cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and backed with a piece of Rich Razzleberry, also cut out with the Ovals, and pierced around the edge with the Occasion Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The two strips of paper are from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper Pack from Sale-A-Bration. The only thing left to do was adhere the cake to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The simplicity of the card and the monochromatic color makes it good for a a guy or a girl. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts card. Thank you for checking and have yourselves a pleasant day!

Pals Paper Arts 152

Ahh… back to Monday we go! Well that was some weekend her on Long Island. Between the snow and the lack of snow removal getting around has been fun. It’s raining today so hopefully that will get rid of the white stuff. I’m sure it will cause some other issues, like flooding, but what can you do? I had a nice weekend all in all. I got some crafting done and I’m actually almost caught up! I’m sure that won’t last long! But I love it!

Today I have a card that I made for the Pals Paper Arts challenge. This time they have provided a color challenge…

PPA 152

Some Primrose, Pool Party and Red, a good color combo indeed. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped the greeting in Real Red from the Curly Cute Stamp Set right on the base. The strip across the bottom starts off with a piece of Primrose Petals. On top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flowers are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and Real Red. I used the Secret Garden Framelits Dies to cut out the flowers and adhered them to the strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a nice clean card with just enough detail to make it fun. I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Pals Paer Arts color challenge. Thanks for spending some time with me today and I hope to see you back again! Have a great day!

Ahh… the weekend, how I love thee! Happy Saturday! I’m off to Manhattan to see some peeps and have some diner breakfast! Hopefully traffic will light, I can dream can’t I?! What are you all up to this weekend? I will be in Holiday card mode tomorrow, I haven’t started my cards to send out yet, yikes!

Before we get to today’s post Stampin’ Up! had a bunch of announcements the other day. The first one and the one I found the coolest, they have an App! That’s right, go on over to the iTunes App store on your iPhone and download the new Simply Sent App for FREE. You can create cards and send them or post them to Facebook and Twitter. It’s a neat way to take Stampin’ Up! wherever you go! You can find it by clicking here:

The next big announcement is that for a limited time you can buy the Sizzix Texture Boutique directly from Stampin’ Up! This is a great tool for those of you not ready to commit to a Big Shot but still want to be able to emboss. See the flyer below to see the 2 great ways you can get it:

Finally, here is another really cool way to add something extra to your cards and other projects. It’s called Talking Tag. You purchase the Talking Tag Message Tags and adhere them to your project. To make it work you download the App from either the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store and use it to record your message. When the recipient gets the card there is a QR Code for them to scan that will take them to get the app and then it will play back your message or short video to them. What a neat way to marry traditional card making with a little technology! See below for more info.

That was a lot of news for one day! I hope that you will take a look at all of the offers and pick one or all up for yourself! You can order by clicking on one of the catalogs to the right!

Now for today’s post, it’s for Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a nice sketch with panels…

I decided that I wanted to use Pool Party and Primrose Petals, They are my favorite In-Colors. Something a little odd happened, but we’ll get to that at the end. The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and sliced off a piece of the left side. I then adhered it to the card front leaving a little space between the two pieces. A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper goes down on the right side. The panel with the greeting on is stamped with the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Pool Party. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I backed it with a piece of Primrose Petals and used some Stampin’ DImensionals to adhere it to the card. Some more Silver Glimmer Paper is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The image is 2-Step Stamped in Pool Party and Primrose Petals, also from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to each other and the card. Now for the odd thing, if you look at the pinecone it kind of looks like its 3D, like old 3D on a TV. Kind of cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge card. Thank you for checking in with me today. I always appreciate your visits and love reading your comments. Oh, one last thing before I go, if you look in the Talking Tags flyer you will get a sneak peek at a new product from the upcoming Spring Catalog. Can you tell me what it is?!?! Have a great Saturday! 🙂

Wee, it’s the weekend… boo, I still have no power. In all seriousness no power is a small problem compared to what so many other people are going through. My heart goes out to all those that have suffered a loss. We also have this great gas issue to deal with which is definitely not bringing out the best in people. I have none left so I’ll be in for the weekend. I stayed at my friend Louis’ last night so no cold nose this morning. He was nice enough to come and get me! Friends really are the best remedy for almost anything!

Today’s post is for Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a color challenge…

The color combination would be nice for so many things but I immediately thought holiday card. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Riding Hood Red with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background and I tried something a little different, when I ran it through the Big Shot I did it on no tabs to give it a little more subtle look. All of the stamped images are from the Open Sleigh Stamp Set. I stamped the sleigh on a piece of Very Vanilla in Crumb Cake and then again in Riding Hood Red. Using my trusty Paper Snips, I cut out the red sleigh. The Merry Christmas is stamped in Riding Hood Red. I flagged the one end and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the 3 sides. The greeting and the phrase are stamped in Riding Hood Red and I used the Postage Stamp Punch to edge them. I mounted all of the elements to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals including the sleigh. I love the vintage look of the card and the simplicity makes it a great card to duplicate. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts card. Hopefully you are all warm and will have a good day! Thank you for visiting!
