Can You Case It #63

What a great Saturday I had! I met my friend Sue at her house at 7:15am and we headed out to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Show in Allentown, PA. We made really good time and arrived there at 9:30. I had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all of the vendors. We stopped at Impression Obsession and I got a few dies. I picked up some things from some of the other booths too. But, the highlight of the day was getting to meet some of you!! I got meet Gerri K, Virginia and Donna from PA! Of course being the dunce that I am I only remembered to take one picture so here I am with the lovely Donna!!

It really was awesome to meet you all and get to chat with you for a little bit! Thank you so much for coming over to see me!! On the way home from the stamp show we stopped at Wegmans! WOW! Now that is a grocery store like I have never seen before! You could spend days in there! We also stopped at Hobby Lobby and I maintained a large amount of self control! LOL! When we got home we picked up Sue’s hubby and went to the diner for dinner. I also got to Skype with Eva for a bit and spoke to Mr. Trent during the day! Like I said a great Saturday! 🙂

So, a few of you have been asking that I share the cards that I have made for the classes at Scrap-A-Latte. Here are the ones that I made for the January class. The theme was Valentine’s and the stamp company was Lawn Fawn.

All of the images are colored with Prismacolor Premier Pencils and Gamsol. If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by and take a class!

For today’s card I’m over on the Can You Case It blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I actually flipped the sketch around to make my card! My card base is Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White. The first layer is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with a piece of Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. On top of that is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, I used the Tim Holtz Tiles Stencil and some Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste to create that cool tile background. My tag is also cut from Neenah White with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. I used the Simon Says Stamp Artistic Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the coordinating dies and watercolored with Crisp Cantaloupe and Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Ink. The stems are cut from Pistachio Pudding and all of the pieces are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied though the top and a few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins are scattered across the tag. The tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die cut from more Neenah White and adhered with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I love the soft spring colors and the tile background is just so cool! I really do hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge! Pals Paper Arts 245

I’m a little early for a Saturday! That’s because I’m off to Allentown, PA today with my friend Sue to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival. I’m really looking forward to seeing all of the crafty goodness that will be there! I will have a full report tomorrow and hopefully lots of pictures! Yesterday was a pretty quiet day. Little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got there after work and he was his usual mischievous self! Yesterday’s big attraction was the vertical blinds and how much noise he could make with them! Even when he is being a little terror he is still pretty cute! He got a new haircut too, here it is!

When I came home I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley and completely got lost in there! It was 10:30 before I knew it! I have to say that I do enjoy when I can just sit and create and not think about anything else! What are your plans for the weekend?!

Today’s card that I have for you is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I wanted to do some inking, haven’t done that in a while! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. Can you believe that Sale-A-Bration is almost over?!?! If there are any products that you haven’t gotten and still want you have a few more days! I took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Night of Navy Ink to cover most of the paper. I then used a little of the Encore Gold Metallic to fill in where there were some lighter spots. My stars are a die from the Circle Card Thinlits and are cut out from the DSP. A piece of Vellum is wrapped around the top portion of the paper and then some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I used the Simon Says Stamp Whishing Die to cut out some more Brushed Gold twice and adhered them together and then to the Vellum with Multi-Purpose Glue. I tried to take a close up of the gold in with the blue, it’s a little blurry but I wish that you could see it in person, it looks so cool! Hi there! SO nice to see you as always! It’s Thursday! You know that my happiness level always peaks towards the end of the week! LOL! Yesterday was a quiet day, not much happened. After work I came home and had dinner with ‘rents. I spent some time in the Stampin’ Galley working on a few projects. Taylor called me to tell me that she had found a shirt that I had wanted and was going to drop it off to me. She stopped by with her friend Chris and we talked for a bit. I also got to Skype with Andrea, she was all gussied up to go to a committee meeting at her children’s school. The rest of the evening was nice and quiet. I watched some videos on YouTube and then surfed around on-line for a bit. A nice quiet evening!

Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I have a few new stamps that I have been wanting to use for a while so I incorporated them into today’s card. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock covered in a piece of Night of Navy. I used another piece of Night of Navy and the Hero Arts Tiny Star Background Stamp with some Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder for my background. A piece of Smoky Slate is punched out with the Confetti Stars Border Punch and adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flagged piece is Basic Gray. The greeting is a Simon Says Stamp set called Sparkle and Shine and is heat embossed with more Liquid Platinum on Vellum. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut it out and some 2-Way Glue and a tiny piece of Kool Tak Clear Foam holds it in place. The star is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Stars Framelits and Heat embossed with the Liquid Platinum as well. A Stampin’ Dimensionals holds it to the card. Finally a few Hazel & Ruby Shine and Sparkle and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins on the flagged piece complete the card. I love that detailed starry background, I think it looks great with the Confetti Stars Punch! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Hi there! How was Monday? Mine was good, my friend Robin was back from vacation so we did lunch and then had some surprise birthday ice cream cake for her! After dinner I talked to Andrea for bit on Skype and then ran over to Brian and Kim’s. Brian is trying to decide what MacBook he wants. He is convinced that in this day and age of the cloud needs a huge hard drive in the computer. I told him not so any more. We will continue the discussion later in the week. Taylor came over when I got home and she was watching TV and then when the commercials came on she would watch something on her iPhone. It was like media overload! I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make today’s card to keep my sanity! LOL! Oh and a little update on Pinterest, I passed 100,000 followers on Monday!! That is just crazy!!

And today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Coastal Cabana on the top and some Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper on the bottom. They are both cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. Across the middle is a piece of ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack. It’s adhered around the back with Sticky Strip before I adhered it to the base. I cut out a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The hello is also a Simon Says Stamp Die and is cut out from a piece of Coastal Cabana along with the stitched star. I heat embossed them with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder from Ranger. The hello is adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the star with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A bright simple quick card that I hope would make anyone’s day a little better! I really do love the look of the clear heat embossing, it gives the pieces a nice acrylic look! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Melon Nature’s Sheer Perfection

I made the most of a rainy day! I spent some time in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning and around noon I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. She had a crop in progress when I got there and I got to see bunch of peeps. I went there to turn in my cards for the card class on Friday. I’m supposed to have them 2 weeks before and she said that she wanted to be mad at me but the cards were so good that she couldn’t be! LOL! Yay! I spoke with Michael for a bit and then came back home. I stopped by my parents and we had Boston Market for dinner. I was good and had a salad! When I got home I Skyped with Eva for a while and Taylor came by. See, made the most of a rainy day! Today I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Kim’s future apartment! That’s going to fun! 🙂

When I sat down to make my card for today I decided that I wanted to use a color that I haven’t used in a while. After some consideration I settled on Melon Mambo. I used Whisper White Card Stock for my base and covered the front in a piece of Melon Mambo. The background is a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum, I heat embossed the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the background with 2-Way Glue. A piece of Brushed Gold is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Frames Die and also adhered with 2-Way Glue. The flower and the butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and are both heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Melon Mambo Re-Inker mixed with water and a brush to paint the images and then cut the flower out with my Paper Snips and the butterfly is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. You know there has to be a little bling and today’s is some Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects. I also gave the flower and the butterfly a liberal brushing with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that the flower in the stamp set matches the flowers in the vellum and I took a closer picture of the flower so you could see the subtle sparkle that the Wink of Stella adds! Well, it’s Friday! Woo hoo! It was a little chillier here yesterday, only in the 40’s and quite windy. I think it’s supposed to stay that way for the next couple of days. As long as there is no snow, I’m good! Yesterday wasn’t too bad at work and little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got there. He has such little personality and when he isn’t happy with something he lets you know. After my quality time with the little man I came home and Heather called and asked if I would like to take a quick ride to the mall with her, I said sure. She came in for a bit when we got back to my house and then I finished up some projects and talked to Carolyn in Australia on Skype for a bit. It’s so funny because it was Friday there already, a little mind blowing! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill. On Sunday I’ll be heading into Manhattan to go with my friend Kim to take a look at her future apartment. That will be fun! I get to help decorate the place so I will take some before and after pictures! Something I forgot to do when I redecorated her current place. I have fun with anything that I get to be creative with!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

As I have been doing a lot lately my card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of Coastal Cabana, the circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Circles Die and then the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Gold Glimmer Paper goes across the lower part of the card. The star is a piece of Bermuda Bay, I punched out the middle with the star from the “Vintage” Merry Minis Punch Pack and then I used the Stars Framelits to make it just an outline. For the greeting I heat embossed one of the stamps from the Hi There Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched it out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The star is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting with a Glue Dot. Finally, two We Are Memory Keepers Adhesive Backed Sequins are adhered in the upper right. I really do love the gold with the blues, especially the Brushed Gold with the Glimmer Paper! So there you have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Gold Feathers Love

Well, that was a nice sunny not so freezing Saturday! A welcome change from what we have had lately! I spent the morning crafting and then ran out with Taylor for a bit. We had McDonald’s for lunch. I can’t remember that last time that I had McDonald’s. My friend Sandy stopped by, she just got back from Florida. She has some nice color, I’m a little jealous! After she left I straightened up the house a bit and watched a little TV. Not a very exciting day but sort of relaxing and that’s good! Oh, did you remember to put your clocks froward?!

The card that I have for you today popped into my head on Friday night and I had to get it out. It’s strange how sometimes I can see an entire card put together and I just have to get it out. I don’t know where this came from either, I must have seen something with feathers! The base for the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I covered the card from with a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic. The feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and all eleven of them are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with the Feathers Framelits. I adhered them tucked under each other to a piece of Basic Gray. The Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart is cut out from a piece of Blushing Bride. I heat embossed it with some Ranger Extra Thick Embossing Powder a few times. When they say thick they don’t lie, it actually dripped at one point! The Simon Says Stamp Sending Die is cut out from a piece of 110lb Neenah Solar White and heat embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. I adhered them both to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine and Sparkle and Shine Sequins are randomly scattered on the card. The Basic Gray is then adhered to piece of Fun Foam and that is then adhered to the card base. You know that I love all of the feathers and the embossed heart is just cool! Yay! It’s the weekend! I did have a nice Friday! When I got up yesterday morning and looked at the temperature it was 1 degree, I don’t think that I have ever seen that before and I hope to never see it again! I went to start my car and the front two tires were a little flat so they had to be filled. It’s not easy to get that cap off when you can’t feel your fingers! Work was good, my friend Robin and I went to Monty’s for pizza at lunch. Despite the fact that it was 16 degrees out! LOL! She has heated seats in her car and I wanted to take it back into the office with me! I came home and had dinner with the ‘rents and then made my card for today. Taylor came over and we ran out to Target. They still had some Valentine’s chocolate left and it was 70% off so I had to get some of that! Today I’m off to Manhattan for a little while and then I’m going to run out to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, weather permitting. We are to have some snow again and they aren’t sure how much. Fun!

Today’s card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I have been wanting to use this die that I have for a while and I thought that this sketch was perfect for it! The base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Gray. My strip down the left side is Pear Pizzaz that I embossed with the Large Polkadot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The die that I mentioned is the Ring Frame from Simon Says Stamp and is cut out from a piece of Pool Party. I used three of middles from the circles for my stamping. The greeting is from the Hello There Host Stamp Set and the swirls are from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are both heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. I adhered the ring frame to the card with itty bitty pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals and the stamped circles are adhered with SNAIL. A few sequins from the Hazel & Ruby Green with Envy Collection are scattered around the card and adhered with Crystal Effects. I really love the color combination and the ring frame is just cool! Fab Friday 58

Welcome to frigid Friday! Yes, this is technically my second post for today! It’s one of those rare occasions where the Control Freaks Blog Tour falls on a day where I have a Design Team post the next day! So it’s also bonus Friday! LOL! Yesterday was quite chilly but nothing compared to this morning with a high of 1, yes 1 degree! Yikes! With the wind chill it’s around -10! Double yikes! But yesterday Daniel was at my parents again! He was extra happy and he had his shirt on that I got him from Disney! Here we are, it’s been a while since we had a selfie!

I just can’t take how adorable he is! And he knows to smile for the camera! LOL! So, it’s Friday, I’ll be happier at 4:00 when work is done! I’m off to see Renee tomorrow and then into Manhattan on Sunday to see Isabella and Kim. Should be a good weekend! It’s supposed to rain on Sunday but be in the 40’s, I’ll take that! What are you all up to this weekend?

So my next card for today is for the Fab Friday challenge and this time around we have a sketch for you…

This was one of those sketches that I knew what I was going to do as soon as I saw it! I had the square cut out for a few days and just had to put the rest of the card together! The card base is Pool Party Card Stock. My shaker in the middle is a piece of Pool Party with a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum on top. They are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and Stitched Circles Dies. I backed it with a piece of Window Sheet. The stamp is form the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla. I used a double layer of Foam Tape to enclose the gold sequins and seed beads. Two pieces of Gold Glimmer Paper are cut out with the Banners Framelits and then again with the Stitched Circles and adhered on either side of the frame. I love all of the sparkle from the shaker and the colors remind me of Tiffany’s! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge. Mojo 385

Brrr… it was a new kind of cold here yesterday! Bitter and the wind definitely didn’t help! I let my car warm up for 15 minutes and the poor thing still wasn’t ready to go! Work was the usual fun, except while I was doing something yesterday afternoon I got the message that there were no more licenses left to add any more users. Our illustrious IT Support company of course didn’t get back to me. Oh well, looks like I have to wait to hear back from them before I can continue! Mum made Chicken in White Wine with Mushrooms last night for dinner, one of my favorites! After I quickly ran to my house along with Winston, who doesn’t care much for the cold either. Once inside I retreated into the Stampin’ Galley and had a little Skype session with my friend Andrea and made today’s card. Not too bad for a Monday. How was yours?!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge for the talented Julee Tilman…

I always love the Mojo sketches! In continuing with my agenda to banish Winter I have another bright card! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Soft Sky that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. My angled strip is Blackberry Bliss, I used one of the dies from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes, it’s just a strip that lets you add a stitched detail to the edge of most anything. The square in the middle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares. I choose a strip of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with a piece of Wild Wasabi. It’s adhered to the square and then they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the thanks from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set stamped in Blackberry Bliss. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles along with a piece of Rose Red to back it. One of the roses from the Artisan Embellishment Kit is adhered in the lower left with a Glue Dot and then the whole thing is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For little sparkle I adhered a few sequins from Doodlebug randomly with Crystal Effects. I have had the Painted Blooms DSP for a while and never realized just how pretty it is and yes, my obsession with all things stitched continues! LOL! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Hopefully it will have the desired effect and make you think warm Spring thoughts!
