    Freshly Made Sketches 290

I had a wonderful Friday! It was Sunny and really nice all day! I went over to Heather’s in the morning and she made me breakfast! I worked on some things while she did her work. Around 1:30 I headed home and had a little lunch and then I did a little cleaning. Jim came by around 5:00 and we went out to dinner and then watched a movie. I’ll be seeing him later on today for the walk! This morning I’m off to Wading River to perform a wedding! Bet you didn’t know that I was Justin-of-the-Peace?! 😀

I have a fun simple card to share with you today for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Smoke Gray. Across the top is a piece of Soft Navy, I heat embossed the images and greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set in WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Under that is a piece of Slate Gray that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals Dies. The die that I used to cut the flag I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called, it’s from Simon Says Stamp and I heat embossed one more star on it. Finally, just a few Rhinestones scattered among the stars completes the card. I really am quite fond of that stamp set, love the clusters of stars! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

    Paper Players 346

It was another day that started out gloomy and turned bright and sunny by the afternoon! I got lots accomplished too, made a few cards, made a bunch of thank you cards for a friend, ran to the Post Office and had dinner with my Parents. We did another Wine Wednesday this week. Heather, Steph and I were joined by Taylor for a little while. Always love to get see the child! This morning I have a lot of planning to do, staying focused is the key! LOL!

One of my cards that I made yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I played with some more of my Simon Stamps! To create my background I used the Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil along with my Stencil Brush and some Lake Shores Ink. The corners are rounded with my Corner Chomper and the panel is adhered to a Black panel that is then adhered to my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I die cut the Echo Park Picture Wheel Die from more Black and adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The feathers, leaves and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the feathers in Teeny Bikini, the leaves in Jellybean and the greeting in Scuba. I used the Coordinating Happy Day Dies to cut them out. The leaves and feathers are adhered to each other, a piece of Hemptique Black Natural Hemp Twine is tied into a bow around the bottom and they are adhered to the picture wheel with E-Z Runner. For the greeting I used some more 3M Foam Tape. Just a few Recollections Enamel Dots complete the card! I still have a soft spot for some feathers and I love that picture wheel! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Sketch Challenge! Thanks so much for visiting today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Happy mid-week already! It was another overcast day here. It didn’t rain until much later in the day but it was cloudy all day. I did a little crafting in the morning and then ran over to Sue’s to drop off some things. I went out to lunch with her and Michael, we had Panera, it’s been forever since I’ve had that! After I got home I watched a little TV and then ran a few errands. This morning I’m going to get crafty again and get some more projects out of the way! 😀

Just as an FYI I’m taking part in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life this Saturday. I’m part of Meg’s team. My Brother lost his first wife to cancer, she was 29, and I lost one of my best friends, he was 25. We have all had cancer touch our lives in some way. Let’s help put an end to this terrible disease. If you can please click HERE to donate. Thank you!

    City on My Mind

Well what started out as a sunny morning yielded to clouds for the rest of the day. I did begin my day with some bagels with Heather and Stephanie which was nice. After that I came home and worked on some crafty projects and cleaned a little. The evening was spent on the couch with the TV and Taylor stopped by for a bit before I called it a night. More crafty things to work on today! Fun! 😀

We are continuing on with Simple Sunday! This card is super simple to make and would work with pretty much any cityscape dies that you have! I used the Poppy Stamps Downtown Urban Landscape Dies to cut the top part of a piece of Basic Gray. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Embossing Powder onto the bottom right of the buildings. I used a combo of E-Z Runner and Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered the buildings to the card along with three separate gold buildings that I cut from Gold Mirror Card using the companion Poppy Stamps Downtown Skyscrapers Dies. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! Like I said, super simple but I think it’s pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed today’s Simple Sunday card! Thank you so much for visiting! Hello peeps! Well, we got a little reprieve from the rain yesterday but it’s supposed to be back today. I picked up Heather at the Car Wash at 8:00, dropped her off and then took her back around 12:00. From there I went over to Sue’s to see her and Michael. I helped Michael with his new MacBook Air, it’s about time! LOL! We had a nice visit! From there I stopped at Target on the way home, had a little dinner with my Parents, spoke to Jim for a while and watched a little TV before calling it a night. Today, more crafty things to do and organizing! 😀

It’s Wednesday so it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

In my cleaning I have found so many things that I haven’t gotten to use! To change it up my card base is Black 110lb. For my background I heat embossed the stars from the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Fog Card Stock. The top half is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. Across the middle is a strip of Gold Mirror Card. Before I adhered the panel to the card base I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine in a bow. I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Die form a piece of Gold Mirror Card and two pieces of Black 110lb. They are adhered to each other and to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I added a few stars from the Little Things by Lucy Brushed Gold Sequins Mix and some Rhinestones for a little more sparkle! I still love that Congratulations Die, one of my faves! Mojo Monday 469

I hope that your weekend was as nice as mine! Yesterday morning Heather and I went to the Deli and had flagels for breakfast before heading over to Valley Stream to pick up her brother. The traffic wasn’t too bad heading into Manhattan but once we got in boy was there a lot! It didn’t take us too long to get to the Javits Center and drop off Russell at Comic-Con. But it took us an hour to get from the Javits Center over to 72nd and Lexington. I got to Jim and Diane’s at 11:00 and Heather had to head back to Valley Stream to stay with her grandmother because they had to take her Dad to the Hospital again. I had a nice visit with Jim and Diane and I got to meet their Daughter Wendy and her daughter too! Around 1:00 I was going to head back to Penn Station when Kim called me and asked if I wanted to meet her for lunch, of course I did! We went to 5 Napkins Burgers and boy were they delicious! The fries were excellent too! After lunch we took a walk over to the Nespresso Store on Madison seeing as the rain finally stopped. We tried a few different kinds of espresso and I bought a few sleeves of pods to take home. I left Kim at 60th and Lexington to get the N back to Penn which took forever to come. Once I got to Penn I had to figure out how I was going to go to get home. There was a derailment on the Ronkonkoma line, the one I usually take, so I had to take a train to Massapequa and have my Parents come and get me. I saw Taylor for a little while when I got home, her mouth is feeling much better. I straightened up a little and made a plan of attack to get the rest of the house cleaned up before calling it a night. Back to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store this morning, I have a bunch of projects to finish!

Monday so it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    mojo469

Today’s card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Herb Garden. I used the Concord & 9th with Simon Says Stamp Cozy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set for all of my images and greeting. The outline image is stamped in Altenew Dark Chocolate Ink onto a piece of Kraft to create my background. Next up is a piece of 48lb Vellum that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circle Stackables Lawn Cuts. A panel and a strip with the end flagged of Dark Molasses is added next. My greeting from the set is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto more Herb Garden and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I stamped the pinecones twice using my Mini MISTI and more Dark Chocolate Ink to get the layers perfectly aligned. They are cut out with the Coordinating Die. One is adhered to the top after being trimmed and the other next to the greeting, both with 3D Foam Squares. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green and Rose Gold Sequins to complete the card. I love the way that you can get a nice layered look with just the one ink color and the set is definitely a favorite of mine! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG for more inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Thanks, as always, for starting your week off with me! Have an amazing Monday! 🙂

    Fab Friday 88

Hi all and a happy Friday to you!! Another amazing day weather wise here yesterday! Another top down to and from work day! The store was quiet yesterday but Renee and I got a lot accomplished. I started my cards for next month’s class and Renee got organized! Taylor and Kiera stopped by, she brought my Copics up because I forgot them at home and they stayed until the store closed. I had dinner at my parent’s and got to see my brother and Daniel! He has such a great laugh! You can’t help but smile when you hear him start giggling! After dinner I came home and made my card for today and then ran out to Target to pick up a few things. Thankfully there are open until midnight! I also got to chat with Heather, she is back at school so there will be no thirsty Thursday’s for a while, bummer! She’s going to try and come by the store for lunch tomorrow, that will be fun!

Well, it’s a Fab Friday this week so I’m over on the blog for our color challenge…

    Fab Fri 88 5-27-2016

I needed to make a quick card, going forward I’m going to make an attempt to work on Design Team stuff ahead but it’s taking a while to get acclimated! I had the base of this card sitting on my desk for about three months so I decided that it was high time I finished it! Speaking of the base it’s Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Scallop Border Die to cut the bottom of a piece of Solar White 80lb that I inked with Simon Says Stamp High Dive using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The thanks is cut from Black 110lb and inlaid back into the die with Multi-Matte Medium. My tree branches are cut from Chocolate Chip with the Memory Box Branching Out Die. I adhered them onto the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. The flowers are punched out from Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey using an old EK Tools Mini Flower Punch and I adhered them to the branches with Mini Glue Dots. Finally I added Pearls to the middles of all of the flowers with Bling Glue Dots and the card is finished! Nice and simple and I love when I get to find a use for something that has been siting on my desk for a while! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Go and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks for coming by today! Have a fun-tabulous Friday! 🙂

    Heart & Feathers Be Happy

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little tired! I guess not working full time for 6 months and then going back full time plus will do that to you! LOL! It’s all good though, I’m loving being at the store and keeping everything organized! Yesterday there was a crop so the store was full! I love getting to sit there and chat with everyone! Angie and I ran an errand to the Dollar Store and then I went out and got us Wendy’s for lunch. It was a busy day and I really did have a good time! I spoke to Michael on my way home and then had Chinese for dinner with my parent’s. Taylor stopped by with Kiera and the had the cutest baby kitten with them. She is a stray and Taylor wanted me to keep her at my house but she wasn’t very fond of Winston! If they can’t find a good home I guess I’ll have to give in! Heather called around 9:45 so I ran over to her house for a glass of wine an some catch up! I’ll be back over at the store for a little while today and then I must do some laundry, almost completely out of clothes! How is your weekend?

When I did finally get home and settled I made my card for today. The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops Craft Die to cut out two pieces of Gold Mirror Card. My feathers are cut from more Ivory 110lb with some cool postage themed Washi Tape adhered to it. I used the Simon Says Stamp Pointed Feathers Dies to cut them out. For the Heart I used Red Felt and the Simon Says Stamp Combined Hearts Dies. My greeting consists of a Black 110lb Be cut from the Simon Says Stamp Be Craft Die and the happy heat embossed onto more Black 110lb with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive except the happy which is adhered with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Cobalt and Raspberry Sequins to compete the card! Oh how I have missed feathers and I do love them cut from the Washi Tape! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by! I wish you all a very happy Sunday! 🙂

Oh boy! The week is moving right along isn’t it?! I woke up later than I wanted to today and for some reason that throws off my whole day. I did manage to make a card this morning with Andrea via FaceTime and we chatted about some Design Team things. Before I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte I stopped by my parent’s to see Daniel and Erika was there. It was another rainy day so perfect to sit and discuss lots of things with Renee. We got a lot accomplished and that made me feel better! When I got back home it was time for dinner and mum made beef stew, perfect for a rainy day. After dinner I came home and watched some YouTube videos and did some research on my little project. Soon I will be able to share with you what I have been working on! I hope that when you find out what it is that you are as excited as I am!

No on to today’s post! It’s for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS193 DT Sketch 5-04-2016

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew just what I wanted to do! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack across the upper half of the card. My circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops Craft Dies from, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card Stock! Sick of it yet?! LOL! I adhered them to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a strip of Black 110lb with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. I didn’t have a gold button so I took one from the giant bin-o-buttons and coated it in Versa-Mark and dipped it in the Gold Embossing Powder. Some Tweezers helped to hold it while I heat set the powder and I had a matching gold button! Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied in a bow and the button is adhered to the greeting strip with a Glue Dot. I just had to use that greeting! I think that it’s so different! This would make a fun wedding card, you could write congratulations on the inside and it would go perfectly with the Sinceriously! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so very much for coming by today! Have a wildly wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 234

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I had yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! Anna was back! It’s was great to see her and despite the circumstances she had a nice trip. She brought me back some really cool prezzies too! So very nice for her to think of me while she was away! I walked over to the Post Office to drop off some packages and then stopped by Chop’t to pick us up lunch. I was fortunate enough to get the 7:11 train home and I went up to Syosset to meet up with some friends for Anthony’s Birthday! It was so much fun to see everyone, my friend Fred was there along with Danielle, her boyfriend Derek, Mum Donna, Sister Stephanie and her boyfriend Matt and my friend Paul! We laughed and celebrated the birthday boy! Can’t wait to make plans with them to go out over the summer! This morning I’m heading back into Manhattan for another lovely day at The Ink Pad with Barbara!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 234

I actually had started to make the card the other day and all I had left to do was to decided what I wanted to do for the sentiment! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb along with the left side cut from Gold Mirror Card. They are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Real Red that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Definitely a very simple card but I love the Gold Mirror triangles inside the Black frame with all of the White along with the nice pop of Red! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for visiting with me today! Have an interesting Saturday! 🙂
