SIP Challenge 58 – A Sketch from Lisa!

Well that was an interesting Monday! When I arrived at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store there was no electricity! Renee had a class at 11:00 and the troopers that they all are they came and scrapbooked! Thankfully there was just enough light to let them sit at the first table although it did get a little warm in there! The power finally came back on around 1:00, that is a long time for me to be without a computer! LOL! I did manage to get some stuff done but not as much as I had wanted to. Guess I’ll have to kick it into high gear today!

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 58

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6×6 Paper Pack. My ice cream is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card, I created a mask with a piece of Post-it Tape and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Ground Espresso Distress Ink to the top part. It’s cut out with the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Dies. I used my Heat Tool to dry the ink and then applied a thick coat of Versa-Mark to the entire piece and dipped it in some Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and heat set that. The stick is a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet and is cut out with the same dies. I adhered it to the bottom of the ice cream and then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Hero Arts Tangerine Hybrid and Tide Pool Ink. What was missing… oh yes! Sequins! LOL! I added a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon, Pumpkin, Watermelon, Lime Sorbet and Sparkling Clear around the ice pop and the card is finished! I love the clear embossing over the ice cream! It makes the chocolate look good enough to eat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a tantalizing Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 57 – Black & White!

Hello my blog people! How was your Monday?! Mine was crazy busy! LOL! No surprise there! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun. I got my Notions order in and had one more person for Card Class today. My friend Lori also stopped by to get her dies that she ordered. Around 5:30 the heavens opened up and it poured for about 1/2 hour then the sun came back out. I had a quick dinner with my Parent’s and then came home and started working on some of the 100’s of projects that I need to finish! Today I have a conference call in the morning and Renee has Kids Camp at the store. It’s all a go all the time and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Today is Tuesday and that means that we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge to share with you…

SIP Theme 57 B&W 800

Ahh… Black & White! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and heat embossed the greeting from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flowers are from the Altenew Dahlia Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Jet Black and the highlights in Evening Gray and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out. They are adhered to the card with a mix of Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting to help balance the card out and it’s done! I do love those Dahlias, especially in just the gray and black! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Black & White Challenge! Check out the rest of our talented Design Team’s cards over on the BLOG and let’s see what you come with by sharing your creation with us in the gallery! SIP Challenge 56 – Christmas in July!

Another crazy Monday! The morning started off with a visit from Taylor and Kiera at 8:00AM! That’s a little too early for company! I do like to have my mornings to myself. I hurried to get ready and left the house around 9:00 to head over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Once there I settled in to get my Newsletter finished and out! It was done by 11:00! Yay! The rest of the day I spent making parts for upcoming projects. I need to get into the habit of doing that! Renee left a little early, she’s still not 100%. Once 7:00 rolled around it was time for me to go. It was in the 70’s which makes for a very nice top down ride home in the car! When I got to my Parent’s my little buddy Daniel was there along with my Brother and Erika. She thinks that today is the day! Fingers crossed that all goes well. After my little visit with them Heather came by and her and I ran to Target. She is going to have a procedure done on her back this morning. Fingers crossed for her too! I have a bunch of orders to get in for the store and some more projects to finish! Always a busy but great day!

Let’s see… Tuesday… ahh yes, that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Theme 56 800

Christmas in July! I still think that it’s a bit too early for Holiday cards but I guess better early than when I usually start to make them, around November! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Soft Sky to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and then used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals to cut out a window from it. Some Foam Tape is adhered to the back and then it’s adhered to the card. My Poinsettias are from one of last year’s My Monthly Hero Kits. I stamped them in Crimson Hybrid, Raspberry Jam, Red Royal, Butter Bar and Orange Soda for the flowers and Green Hills and Forever Green for the leaves. Some Glossy Accents is added over the flower centers and once they were dry I adhered them to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner. My greeting is form the same set and is stamped in Red Royal right in the center of the oval! It needed something else so, yup, you guessed it, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry Sequins! I do love the blue background for the nice red flowers and sentiment, really makes is soft but bold! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Christmas in July Challenge! Make sure and stop by the BLOG and check out my fellow Designers cards and enter your in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 55 – A Sketch and Final MMH Sneak Peek!

MMH_Logo_TB

I trust that you all had a safe and happy 4th of July! I spent most of my day catching up on projects and straightening up the house some more! It feels so good to get back some control over the chaos! I still have a long way to go but I’m getting there! Around 3:30 I headed over to Brian and Kim’s for a small little BBQ with a group of friends. Taylor and Kiera stopped by too! Brian made some really good eats and I had some Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Beer! One of my favorites! I came home at 8:30 to stay with Winston, he hates fireworks and shakes like you wouldn’t believe! And let me tell you, it sounds like a war zone around here from 8:30 until well past midnight usually but the rain started at 11:00 so it ended a little early!! You would never know that fireworks are illegal here! Today is a very busy day here on the blog! I have my SIP post this morning and then a fun Blog Hop at 1:00PM EST to celebrate the release of the July My Monthly Hero Kit! Be sure and come back for that! You are sure to see some of my favorites hopping along!

To get things started today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! It’s also my last Sneak Peek of the MMH Kit before the launch later on today! Here is this week’s sketch from Sandy…

SIP Sketch Challenge 55 800

I think that I can safely say that the Octopus from the Add-On Set is my favorite, well him and the Jellyfish! I had to use him one more time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of the Silver Swirl Text Weight Paper from the Kit. Down the right side is a piece of the Aqua Lagoon Metallic Card Stock, also from the Kit. I do love to stamp some of my own patterned paper and the Coral from the Main Set is perfect for that! I stamped two of them in Hero Arts Tide Pool and Charcoal Ink adding some bubbles stamped in Soft Pool. After trimming down the piece I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. That fun super detailed Octopus is stamped in Soft Pool for the first layer and Tide Pool for the second. I matted him with some Dark Gray card stock and adhered that panel to the card with more E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the Add-On Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on more Dark Gray and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. He needed a little shine so I adhered a few of the Star Sequins from the Little Things by Lucy Mermaid Exclusive Mix with some Multi-Matte Medium. Love the softness of the colors and the Silver Swirl Paper is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge and my final Sneak Peek for the July My Monthly Hero Kit! Stop by the Stamp, Ink, Paper BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! SIP Challenge 53 – CASE the Designer!

We have had a great run of weather lately! Sunny and mild here again yesterday and my car is loving it! It was another good day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got a lot of administrative things done and also found out that putting orders together at 12:45AM is not such a good idea! Thankfully I have a great Rep and she corrected my mistakes! It’s always good to have a second pair of eyes! I left the store around 6:30 and headed over to Heather’s. She had an amazing dinner waiting for me and a much needed glass of wine! We chatted and I worked on some store stuff while she did her school paper. It’s funny how you can sometimes get so much more accomplished when you have some company! Today I have lots of stuff to work on at the store! I have to decide what I’m doing for next month’s Card Class and get some samples made and I also have to get ready for Thursday’s Intro to Altenew Class. Such fun work I have to do! 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means that I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog for this week’s challenge…

SIP Case Challenge 53 800

Now there is a fun and different challenge! While I was at the store yesterday I was digging around in the drawers in the back and came across some dies. I decided that I would put them together to make my card! The card base is Solar White 80lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The filmstrip is cut from some Battleship Gray with one of the dies from the My Mind’s Eye Hello World Dies Set. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My three feathers are cut from Pale Aqua, Tropical Sea and Gold Mirror Card using the feather die from the My Mind’s Eye On Trend Die Set. I adhered the feathers to each other and to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. The banner is a piece of Slate with the right side flagged and that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is cut from some more Gold Mirror Card using a word die from the Paper Smooches Christmas Words 2 Die Set and that is adhered to the banner with more Spray Adhesive. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Gold and some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Green with Envy Sequins to finish the card. Sometimes it’s fun to use some random die cuts to make a fun card, don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper CASE the Designer Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s cards, including our newest resident Crystal! Don’t forget to play along by entering your card in the gallery! SIP Challenge 52 – Card Maker’s Choice and Year Anniversary Giveaways!

SIP Header

Wow! Now that was a Monday! LOL! There are so many aspects of running a store that are pretty stressful and irritating! But you take the good with the bad! I was a busy little boy at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I got my cards put up in a display for sale, finally! Remember the store in Wantagh that wanted my cards, well they still want them! I have to find the time to go over and talk to them about that! Now there will be two places that people can buy the cards! Lots of product ordering issues at the store and none of them have easy fixes. Guess you just keep chugging along! When I got home last night I had some spaghetti at my Parent’s and then came home to Taylor watching The X-Files on Netflix. I love that show and have seen every episode! The rest of the evening was spent getting everything together for today’s SIP post! It’s our one year anniversary! I can’t believe that it’s been a year! We have some fun prizes that we are giving away to our three winners this week too! Each of the Design Team members has contributed something! I have added the Lawn Fawn Stinkin’ Cute Stamps and Dies!

While I was at the store yesterday I was going through the stamps that I brought with me and came across this set that I had wanted last year. I decided to do some Ink Blending! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is cut from a piece of 12 x 12 paper, Bo Bunny’s Believe Line the Marvelous piece. All of the images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp and Dies Set. I heat embossed all of the butterflies in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. They are colored in with Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink using a Dauber. The bodies are stamped in Onyx Black and the they are all cut out using the included Dies. I arranged them on the card and stamped the greeting in Onyx Black and then adhered them all to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Bronze, Ocean Spray Iridescent and Pansy Purple Sequins are scattered about and then card is done! I love those butterflies and I think that they look really cool in the bright colors against that fun paper! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the One Year Anniversary Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice Challenge! SIP Challenge 51 – Sunsets!

What a beautiful day it was here yesterday! The sun was shining and there was a nice breeze down by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got a lot accomplished too, love it when that happens! Renee had her Christmas Card Club and I finished up some preparations for Thursday’s Stamping 101 Class! I spoke to Andrea and Michael, always a pleasure! My lunch was salad again, I’m keeping up with my healthy eating so I can loose this lovely donut that has appeared around my waist! Gotta get bikini ready! LOL! Today I’ll be doing a little research to see what else I want to bring into the store, one of my favorite things to do!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We have a beautiful inspiration picture…

SIP Challenge 51 - Sunsets 800

Oh how I would like to be on the pier! The base for my card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. On one of them I used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Border Lawn Cuts. I can’t stop making the Distress Ink backgrounds and today I used Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch for the ocean and Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple for the sky. A little flick of water and some blotting before I adhered the background with Tombo Extreme and the ocean with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to the card. My images are from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Foam Tape and E-Z Runner to adhere them to the card. For the hello I inked up another piece of Watercolor Card with Candied Apple Distress Ink and then used the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello Lawn Cut to cut it out. The Waving is from the same stamp set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used Multi-Matte Medium To adhered the hello and some Pretty Pink Posh Sunshine Glow, Blue Lagoon and Sparkling Clear Sequins to the card. A little brush of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen one the mermaid and the card is finished! I really do love the way the Ink Blended backgrounds look, especially in the bright colors! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! SIP Challenge 50 – A Sketch!

So it was supposed to rain all day yesterday! I have to say that I love it when the weather-peeps are wrong! It actually turned out to be a nice day! I headed into Manhattan on the 11:11 train and walked down to The Ink Pad to see Anna. We had a nice visit and talked about store stuff. From there I went over to Barnes & Noble, I haven’t been in a bookstore in way too long! I need to start reading again too! I used to read all the time! I was on the hunt for a specific magazine and they had it! The current issue of Simply Cards from the UK has a free Altenew Stamp and Die set included! I picked up a copy for me and one for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I met up with Barbara by the magazines and I had a veggie pizza from the cafe which was pretty good! We chatted and then wandered around. She took me to Flying Tiger and I got some fun stuff there! We then went over to Madison Square Park and Barbara had Shake Shack. I got a Vanilla frozen custard, yum! Her are a few pictures from my little adventure…

Now on to today’s post! I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog with the rest of my Design Team for this week’s sketch challenge…

SIP Sketch Challenge 50 800

I had this idea for a shaker card since I first saw the Lawn Fawn So Smooth set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I stamped all of the images from the Lawn Fawn So Smooth Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them in with Copics. The berries and glass are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. For the blender I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle to cut that and another piece of the patterned paper along with a piece of Soft Sky and Thick Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the “glass” part of the blender and a piece from the Fun Foam. The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the front panel and then adhered the Fun Foam. Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Clear Glass Seed Beads are added and then the back is adhered. The shaker is then adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is done! I really do love that So Smooth Set and the fruit, beads and sequins really do make it look like a real blender! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over and check out the rest of the Team’s cards on the BLOG and be sure to enter your project in the gallery! SIP Challenge 49 – Flowers!

Now that I get to spend everyday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store inside Scrap-A-Latte I can’t even say anything bad about Monday! What could make the day better? Why getting to drive there and back with the top down in the car listening to some unnecessarily loud music! Have you heard the new Justin Timberlake song Can’t Stop the Feeling? It’s the perfect happy upbeat song for nice rides in the car! Who doesn’t like a pocket full of sunshine?! I got lots accomplished at work but was bummed when I found that the second half of my Lawn Fawn order didn’t come. I discovered that it was too big to ship through the Post Office so it went UPS and that added an extra day. Guess there is a lot in that box! We had some new customers come by the store and I even got to talk tech with one of the husbands! 😀 I had a little dinner when I got home and talked with my parents and neighbor for a while before coming inside and making my card for today. This morning I’ll get the Lawn Fawn order all sorted out and make some samples! Yay!!

That card that I made last night… it’s for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 49 Flowers 800

Ahh… flowers… who doesn’t like flowers?! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. That fun gold frame is cut out from a piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, I use a lot of it!) using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Those pretty flowers in the center are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Inks and the leaves in Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Moon Rock Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and arranged on the card. Some Press ‘n Seal picked them up, keeping them exactly where I placed them, while I added Tombo Dot Runner and Foam Tape to the back. They are then placed back on the card, pressed in place and the Press ‘n Seal removed. For the greeting I stamped one of the sentiments from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set in Moon Rock and cut it out with my Scissors. A little Foam Tape adhered that to the top of the card. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added for a little sparkle! I LOVE that Altenew Ink, such good coverage and really easy to clean off your stamps too! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the BLOG and see what my talented Team has come up with to inspire you! Add your card to gallery so that you can share with us! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to today! Have a thoroughly phenomenal Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 48 – Colors!

I trust that you all had a nice Monday! It was a little chilly here during the day but sunny and warmed up a little in the evening. I had a nice simple day. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and crafted for a bit. In the afternoon I ran a few errands and then came back home and binge watched some YouTube on the Apple TV. Mum made tacos for dinner and they were delicious! To end my evening I chatted with Michael for a bit, watched some more YouTube and relaxed. Today I have a bunch of things to do to get ready for my upcoming project finish! I’ll be able to tell you all about it on Thursday! Finally! To say that I’m excited doesn’t begin to cover it! 🙂

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some colors from Sandy…

SIP Color Challenge 48 800

Whenever I have the urge to use some Lawn Fawn it seems to last for a few days! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to it. For the frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames to cut out three pieces of Calypso Coral, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Baked with Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. Everything except the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. They are then die cut using the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto another piece of Calypso Coral and then cut out using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape and the card is finished! You already know how fond I am of Lawn Fawn, I just really love their images and most of them work with most of their other sets! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fabulous cards!
