SIP Challenge 37 – Wood, Cork, Felt!

Hello! It turned out to be a very nice day here yesterday after a brief shower in the morning. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to go and see Renee and finish my cards for the March Lawn Fawn class. We chatted and then had some dinner before I headed home. When I got back to the house I let Winston out and I was standing there reading something on my iPhone when I was startled to see a raccoon the size of a small bear cub walk by me not four feet away! Thankfully I had already let Winston in! YIKES! I guess as long as neither one of us bothers the other one all is good! LOL! This morning I’m off to spend the day at Scrap-A-Latte so Renee can have a little time off. Come by and say hi if you are in the area!

Tuesday… yup it’s Tuesday! Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are also welcoming Marisa Gunn as a Guest Designer for the month of March! Thanks for joining us Marisa! This week I came up with a fun Wood, Cork, Felt Challenge…

SIP Challenge 37 Wood, Cork, Felt 800

All you have to do is use one of these on your project! I of course had to use all three! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pink Pirouette covering the front. I adhered a panel of Adhesive Cork Sheet on top of that. My tag is a wooden one that I picked up at Michaels along with the butterfly. The flowers and leaves are cut out from some pink and light green felt, also from Michaels, with the Essential by Ellen Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. I adhered them to the wooden tag with Multi-Matte Medium along with the butterfly. A length of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine is tied thought the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with E-Z- Runner. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink on a piece of Ivory 100lb and also adhered with E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with more Multi-Matte Medium to give the card just a little more texture! I really do enjoy using some natural elements on a card, makes for a nice change from paper alone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see what our fabulous Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see one your creations in the gallery this week! Thanks so much for stopping but today! Have a phenomenal Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 36 – Card Maker’s Choice!

What a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte! I FaceTimed with Andrea and I got to meet some new people that came in to buy stuff, sold a lot of Lawn Fawn yesterday and I got my sets to start making the cards for next month’s class! Speaking of next month’s class, I’m pondering an idea of how I can bring the class to you! I’ll let you know when I have more info! I also started working on my card for today while I was there. After I locked up the store I stopped by Aldi, it’s a new supermarket that we have here, they also have them in England! I got some K-Cups for $4.29 for 12 and Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer for $2.19! Not too bad! When I got back home I watched a little TV and then sat down to finish putting my card together for today!

The card that I worked on yesterday is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 36 - Card Maker's Choice 800

I used one of the new Lawn Fawn sets to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. On the one I used Stormy Sky and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The other one I used to cut out the waves with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and the clouds with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. On the waves I used Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I then took the background and the waves and spritzed them with some water, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted it off with a paper towel. Before adhering the waves and clouds to the card with Foam Tape I heat embossed the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Loch Ness Monster is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres him to the card. You know that sequins make everything better so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear ones on the waves! I love the Loch Ness and I think he’s too cute to call a monster in this case! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Make sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and we hope to see one from you in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a creative Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 35 – A Sketch!

Hello peeps! I hope that you had a nice start to your week! It snowed here for most of the day and then rained making a nice slushy mess! It is much warmer so that’s good! I went over to see Heather around 1:30 and we ran to Felico’s so that she could drop off some stuff from a party that she worked on Saturday. From there we stopped at Target and then back to her house for little bit before I headed home for dinner. Around 6:00 Danielle came by and we went to Michaels to get her some of her own crafty supplies for card class. After that we went to 5 Guys so that she could get dinner. They have really good fries! We came back to my house and watched some of the Grammy’s and then spent some time on YouTube. Love seeing Danielle, I miss seeing her every day! Today I have to go over to see Renee, I never made it there yesterday because of the weather.

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Lisa…

SIP Sketch Challenge 35 800

I decided that it was high time that I used a set from Lawn Fawn that I got a while ago! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Real Red for my background and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The frame is cut from some Black 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares along with a piece of Acetate. I adhered the acetate to the back of the frame and then added some Foam Tape. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Milk and Cookies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I colored in the cookies, jar, glass and straw with my Copics. Some Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder is added to the cookie jar and glass with my Versa-Marker. I heat embossed the greeting on a strip of Black 110lb with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The cookies and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins are added to the card and then the frame is adhered over the top. The rest of the pieces are adhered with Foam Tape. I really think that the cookies are cute and I love the clear embossing powder added to the jar and glass, it dries much faster than Glossy Accents! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! I wish you a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 34 – Love!

Happy Tuesday peeps! We got some more snow here, it actually started snowing early yesterday morning and still hasn’t stopped! Ugh! Enough with the snow already! LOL! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue! We got lots more stuff ready for Etsy and had a nice lunch at the Deli. I came home and had dinner with my Parents and then FaceTimed with Andrea while I made my card for today. Before calling it a night I watched a little TV to have a little wind down. I’ll be back over to Sue’s tomorrow to finish up!

Its time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a timely Love theme…

SIP Challenge 34 - Love 800

Just in time for Sunday! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Recollections Valentine’s Day 6×6 Paper Pad to make my banner. The heart is some Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I heat embossed my sentiment onto from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set with some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The heart is then cut out with the Lawn Fawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. I used Candied Apple Distress Ink to watercolor the card, making the greeting stand out. A little spritz with my Mini Mister and then some paper towel to pick it up and the heart is finished. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The little gold hearts are cut from Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts Outline Wafer Dies. I adhered them to the card with 2-Way Glue. I love the watercolored heart and the tiny outline hearts are so neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Love Theme Challenge! We hope to see some of your cards in the gallery and for a little extra inspiration check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG! Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 33 – Colors!

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday! It was a lovely warm day here yesterday, it got up into the 50’s! That I can definitely get use to! I’m sure that it won’t last for long so I will relish it while I can! I had a relatively productive morning. I got to speak to my Aunt Shirley in England on FaceTime for a bit and then crafted with Andrea over FaceTime. I use FaceTime a lot! Taylor came by with Kiera in the afternoon and we all had dinner at my parent’s. My shows were on last night, the X-Files and Lucifer and both were great! This morning Andrew is coming by and we are going to take Sandy to the airport and then work on researching some stuff. I haven’t seen him in ages so it will be good to spend some time together!

It’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week we have a timely color combo for you…

SIP Challenge 33 - Colors 800

I love the colors and wanted to do a little watercoloring! I have had this idea in my head for a while so I thought that it was time to get it out! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card taped down with Blue Painter’s Tape to a board for my “canvas”. I laid down a heart die and watercolored the heart staying about 1/4″ inside the die. For the heart I mixed some Royal Langnickel Crimson Red with some White and dried it with my Heat Tool. I added some more white on top and then used Prussian Blue mixed with White to paint around the heart. I dried that with my Heat Tool too. The gold hearts are painted freehand using Fintec Pharaonen Gold. I trimmed down the panel and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The hello is cut from Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and the card using Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The love is from the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink. I love the way the blue really makes the red heart pop and those Finetec Watercolors are amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Take a quick click over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with and share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting today! Have a thoroughly wonderful Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 32 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

There is still snow everywhere around here! The LIRR Had major issues this morning and I’m thankful that I wasn’t one of the commuters that had to wait upwards of three hours for a train! I re-dug my car out with the help of dad and his snowblower, let’s hope that it stays like that! The rest of my day was spent looking for the title to my old car, which I never found but I did go onto the DMV site and ordered a new one. I choose express delivery and it should be here Wednesday morning! I’ll believe that when I see it! LOL! I also watched the second of the X-Files last night, just as good as the first one! After that there was a new show called Lucifer on and I liked that one too! Today I’m going venture out of the house and get in the car, the first time since Friday, so unlike me! I’ll let you know how that goes tomorrow!

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Love Tic-Tac-Toe from Sandy…

SIP Tic Tac Toe 32 800

I went down the middle but hit a few others along the way! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I spattered a piece of Black 110lb with some Heidi Swapp Gold and White Color Shine and then adhered it to the card base. My heart is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Some Ranger Candied Apple Distress Ink is applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool and then I flicked some water onto the heart. After waiting about 20 seconds I used a dry paper towel to pick it up. The arrow is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I cut out with the Reverse Confetti Arrow Confetti Cuts Die, I snipped it in two and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The heart is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL along with a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins. I love the look that the water gives to the heart and the nice way that red pops against the black! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to show us some love and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! SIP Challenge 31 – Birthday!

I had a very low key Monday. I FacetTimed with Andrea in the morning and then took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to go over next month’s class with Renee. A bunch of the ladies were there scrapping the day away and Angie was playing with Renee’s new Cricut Explore Air. They were cutting out embellishments for pages. Boy do they require a lot of assembly! After that I came home and UPS delivered my new Vacuum! I got it on HSN for a great price after my Dyson died. I had it for 6 years but I would expect a $400 vacuum to last longer than that! This time I got a Hoover Windtunnel Air and boy does it have some impressive power! The woman in the video on HSN actually had the vacuum stick to the ceiling! You have to take a look at the live presentation video HERE! I was sold! LOL! After dinner I watched a little TV and then made a quick card. Today I’m going over to see my friend Sue and then this evening I’m going to head into Manhattan and stay at Kim’s so I can be there in the morning for Time Warner. A nice little mid-week break from the Island!

Tuesday and we have another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you! This time it’s birthdays…

SIP Challenge 31 - Birthday Theme 800

My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. The patterned paper is from the American Crafts DIY 6×6 Pad and is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Craft Dies. I adhered it on slight angle to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Craft Die and that too is adhered to the card at a slight angle. The balloons pieces of Recollections Red, Gold and Aqua Glitter Paper cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The gold and red one are adhered with SNAIL and the Aqua one with Foam Tape. A piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with one of the other dies from the Birthday Frame and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to balance the bottom of the frame. SIP Challenge 29 – A Sketch!

I hope that you all survived your first day back to work! I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit. It had been way too long since I have seen her and we got caught up and I picked up some paper to make the cards for this month’s card classes. From there I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit and made my card for today. I spoke to Michael for a while and then had some spaghetti for dinner at Mum and Dad’s. Later on I took a ride over to see Heather and we watched the end of The Notebook and The Lucky One. She is a big fan of ABC Family! LOL! It was quite chilly here, especially last night, and I miss our warm December already!

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week we have a sketch from Carolyn…

SIP Sketch Challenge 29 800

I got some goodies from Concord & 9th yesterday in the mail that I will be using for a class at The Ink Pad on January 29th so I decided that I would break them in! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock with a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper across the top. I stamped the Tree Ring Photopolymer Stamp in Soft Suede on a piece of Sahara Sand and cut it out with my Paper Snips. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The three flags are a piece of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, 7/8″ Natural Cotton Ribbon and a piece of denim from an old pair of jeans. They are all adhered to the card with Scor-Tape. I heat embossed the heart and love from the Tree Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut that out with my Paper Snips too. It’s adhered to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. For a little extra sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the tree ring. I love the stamps and all of the texture from the ribbons and denim! A nice masculine Valentine! SIP Challenge 27 – Thanks!

Well it was warm here again yesterday but really foggy in the morning and then rained for most of the rest of the day. I was sure that Brian & Kim’s plane would be delayed but they actually landed 1/2 hour early! After I dropped them off I came home and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit while I worked on some crafty projects. Later on in the afternoon I got a message from Heather that her Grandfather had passed away and she was there with him. It’s never easy to loose a family member but he lived a nice long 93 years and she has all of the great memories that she shared with him to remember him. Anthony and Bill came by to pick me up around 5:15 and we ran over to Walt Whitman Mall so that Anthony could get his mum’s Christmas Present. We also stopped at Lush and Bill and I got Holiday Spice Flat Whites from Starbuck, my new favorite drink! When I got back home I went over to Heather’s and Stephanie and Brian stopped by too. Nothing like spending a little time with your friends to make the sadness a little easier. This morning I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte for the day to watch the store for Renee. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday!

Since it’s Tuesday it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time the challenge will run for two weeks ending on December 27th. We thought that some Thank You cards would be needed so that’s what the theme is…

SIP Challenge 27 - Thanks 800

I saw a card that Kristina Werner made the other day as part of her Holiday Card Series for 2015 and I had to give it a try! I took a piece of Vellum and heat embossed the Thank You from the Concord & 9th Painted Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The pocket is created with my Fuse Tool and a We R Memory Keepers 12×12 Page Protector. Before sealing the top I added some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequin Mix to the pocket. On the back is a piece of Elegant Eggplant and Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to each other and then to the pocket. I added the white so that you would have a place to write a message. I love this card! It’s like the ultimate shaker card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to play along with us by entering your card in the gallery! SIP Challenge 26 – A Sketch from Maggie!

It was another really nice day here yesterday! I’m liking their forecast that we are to have a warm December! Hopefully that will carry into January, February and March as well! I had a very productive day yesterday! I was at my friend Sue’s most of the day working on some listings for Etsy. I spoke to Michael for a bit and then headed back home to have some dinner with the ‘rents! After dinner I came home and puttered around the house for a bit and then watched a movie. Today I’m going to be productive again and get some little errands done that I have been putting off and spend some quality time in the Stampin’ Galley too!

Today is Tuesday and it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Maggie…

SIP Sketch Challenge 26 800

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the card is a shaker… shocker! LOL! I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die to cut out a piece of Solar White 110lb and the center from a piece of Smoky Slate. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back of the Smoky Slate with Scor-Tape and the snowflake panel is adhered to the acetate in the cut out with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Two layers of Foam Tape around the back make a nice well for my shaker material. I added some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and Silver Seed Beads before adhering a piece of Night of Navy to the back. Three banners, also cut form Night of Navy, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and then the shaker is adhered with more Scor-Tape. My greeting is from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Vellum. I flagged the left side of the Vellum and adhered it to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. As simple as a shaker can get! I’m still loving that Snowflake Block Die and the great blue, white and grey color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge from Maggie! Make sure an stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s (including Michael this week!) cards and show Maggie some love by entering your project in the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a thrilling Tuesday! 🙂
