Paper Craft Crew 72 & Sneak Peek

What a lovely day it was here yesterday! I woke up to it snowing and it continued to snow for most of the first half of the day. Around 2:00pm it started to rain which was ok because it washed a way most of the snow. The only bad part was that it was about 26 degrees here last night so that turned most everything into a skating rink! Wait, it is going to be in the 60’s here over the weekend! Maybe we can will it to stay!! LOL! My day for the most part was good otherwise. My friend stopped by for a bit, I got my Christmas cards written out and I worked on a project. Now tomorrow to print the address labels and mail those cards!

Today I have my post for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This week we have a neat little sketch for you…

PCCCS072 12-18-2013

I wanted to show you some more goodies from the 2014 Occasions Catalog so that’s all I used! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock and my background is a piece of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper*. My flower and bee are from the Springtime Hello Stamp Set*, the bee is stamped in Basic Black and the flower is markered with Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies to cut out my stamped image and a lager one to put behind it. Some of the Gold Sequin Trim is adhere to the backing along the edge and the stamped piece is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set* and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card and some loose sequins finish it off. I LOVE the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper* and the we all know how I feel about sequins! Thank you for checking out my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Check out the other projects on the blog and let’s see what you come up! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SUO Challenges 86

Snow, more snow, I don’t really care for snow. We have had a lot of snow this year already. I would like the winter that we had two years ago, I think we had one snow storm and then the that was it. I did like that a lot! LOL! Yesterday was a pretty good day for a Monday, not too insane at work and quiet when I got home. I crafted a little and then watched the Sing Off. I don’t watch TV at all usually, thanks Andrew! LOL!

My post for today is for the SUO Challenges and this week we have a very timely challenge for you. It actually helped me out a lot! We ask you to create last minute Christmas cards and gifts. I definitely needed some more cards and I wanted them to be easy to make a bunch of. I looked around for the perfect stamp set and settled on the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Set. It’s one of our most popular sets! The bases of the cards are all Very Vanilla Card Stock. Pieces of Cherry Cobbler make a nice base for my stamped panel. Some more Very Vanilla takes on the stamps. I used Soft Sky, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Gumball Green for the snowflakes. All of the greetings are stamped in Cherry Cobbler to tie in the backing. Simple but fun and way better than any boxed cards you could buy and so much more personal! When you have a lot of cards to send out simple can be great! I hope you enjoyed my stack of last minute Christmas cards for the SUO Challenges. Head on over to the blog to get some more ideas for your last minute projects and share one of yours with us by adding it to the gallery. Thanks for spending some time with me today and enjoy! 🙂

Paper Players 176 & Peeks

Now that was a fun and busy weekend! I spent most of the day yesterday catching up on projects and I’m much further along than I thought I would be but I still have much to do! It was a pretty nice day here, the sun even peeked out for a little while. First today, I want to wish my friend Brian King a very Happy Birthday today!! 🙂

On another note, I was outside last night and I took the picture below. It looks a little creepy no?!

Creepy 12-15-2013

For as good as the iPhone 5 camera is, night shots is not one of it’s strong suits! Kind of eerie though!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week the super talented Sandy has given us a WOW (White on White) challenge…

Paper Players #176

I can’t remember the last time, if ever, I did a white on white card. The only card stock that I used on the card is Whisper White. I did emboss a piece with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder ** for the layer in between my base and front panel. Speaking of the front panel all of the stamped images and greeting are from the Happy Congratulations Stamp Set* and are stamped in Encore Gold Metallic except for the lanterns. The lanterns are heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I hid some Stampin’ Dimensionals behind them to adhere them to the card and give it a little more depth. I had a lot of fun making my White on White card for the challenge. The picture doesn’t really show how nice and shiny the lanterns are and how pretty the gold ink looks. Thank you for coming by to see me and my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. I hope you enjoyed my take on the challenge and that you have a very great Monday! 🙂

Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek

Happy Sunday! My work Holiday party was a lot of fun last night! There were a ton of people there and some delicious food. They play a “Bad Santa” game where you bring a wrapped gift and then you pick a number to decided your turn to choose. You can pick a new gift or steal one from someone else. The person that picks number one gets to go at the end and take whatever they want! I ended up with a Google Chromcast with a little help from some friends! Like I said lots of fun! Here are a few pictures from last night. I’m also sporting my new haircut! LOL!

Danielle & Me CL 2013

This is Danielle and I in front of the fireplace, they did a really nice job decorating their house!

Ant Nic & Me CL 2013

Here I am with Anthony and Nicole, like I said a really good time! 🙂

For today’s post I have a card that I made for Danielle’s mom’s birthday. I CASE’d the tag from the 2014 Occasions Catalog. I thought it would make a nice focal point for a card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Strawberry Slush backed with a piece of Brushed Gold for my background. The tag is created with a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum* backed with a piece of Whisper White. I punched two holes in the top and threaded some Whisper White Bakers Twine through and tied it in a bow. The greeting is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Strawberry Slush and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the pieces to the card. I really like that even though it’s a simple card the greeting and the Designer Vellum give it a little wow! Thanks so much for stopping by to see my card and I hope that you enjoyed the pictures too! Have a great Sunday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 83 & Sneak Peek

It’s the weekend peeps! Woo hoo! I had a pretty good day at work yesterday. I got to have a staged fight with a trainer that was teaching an investigation class. All of the people in the class thought the fight was real, it was great! LOL! I went to a Stamp-A-Tag at Sandy’s last night, that’s always fun! Today… lots to do and I have my “work” holiday party tonight. Oh, and it’s sneaker Saturday too! Let’s see what I can get done!

Before I get to today’s post I wanted to thank the amazing Mary Fish for selecting my card as her pick for last week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge. You can see my original post here and the Pals Paper Arts winners post here. Now this week from Pals we have a color challenge…

PPA 183

I was going to do a Christmas card but I really want to keep those sneak peeks coming so I went with a birthday card instead! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder** to emboss a piece of Wild Wasabi and backed it with a piece of Rose Red for my background. The greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set* and is stamped once in Rose Red and the again in Wild Wasabi so I could punch out the “a” with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and pop it up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. I stamped it on one of the tags from the Stamp a Tag kit and tied a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine in a bow on top. The pinwheels are from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set* and are stamped in Rose Red and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card in a cog like pattern. I love the Decorative Dots Folder, it looks a little like confetti and makes a great background for a birthday card! Thank you for checking in with me today to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s color challenge. I really do appreciate your visits and comments, have a super Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 33 & Sneak Peek

Friday! Friday! FRIDAY!!!!! Yes, kids, it’s Friday. You know I loves me some Friday! And boy am I glad that this week is done! The weekend holds a lot of stuff for me to do, though. I need to put up my tree, make my Christmas cards, work on my presentation and attend a party on Saturday night. Good luck to me! What’s on for your weekend?

The best part about this Friday is that it’s Fab Friday! This week we have a nice simple sketch…

Fab Fri 33 Sketch 12-13-2013

My card is very clean and simple compared to what you’ve seen on my blog lately. The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used the Banners Framelits Dies* to cut out two pieces of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper** and two pieces of Crisp Cantaloupe to go behind the face of my “ribbon”. My stamped image is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set*, stamped in Summer Starfruit and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies*. I stamped it again in Pool Party and cut out the word “world” and popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Basic Black cut out with the same framelits goes behind and that completes the card! I hope you enjoyed my simple card with some more sneak peeks for you today! Don’t forget to stop by the Fab Friday blog to see what my Design Team cohorts have done with the sketch and upload your card into the gallery so we can see your take on it. Have a fabulous Friday!

Freshly Made Sketches 116 & Sneak Peeks

Today was the start of the deep freeze that we are headed into, yeah! NOT! It was very cold here today and it was a balmy 36 degrees. I say balmy because tomorrow night it’s supposed to 18! Brrr!! I had a busy but good day at work, there always is a lot to get done but I have a good bunch of people in my department so it’s all good. I got to test drive my presentation for Leadership last night and now will polish it and get it finished, less than a month to go! Time really does fly!

My inspiration for today’s post comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches #116

I do love some banners and I got a new goodie from the man in brown yesterday too so I had to use it! The base of today’s card is Coastal Cabana Card Stock. My background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The flags and hearts are from the Language of Love Stamp Set* and are stamped in Coastal Cabana and Blushing Bride. I used the Banners Framelits Dies* to cut out the banners and the hearts are punched out with the Small Heart Punch. My greeting is from the Love You to the Moon Stamp Set* and is stamped in Coastal Cabana and backed with some Blushing Bride. The Blushing Bride hearts are adhered to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the panel to the card with some more. I love the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it looks cool either side that you use and the colors are nice and soft but fun. Are you enjoying your sneak peeks?! I hope so and I hope that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I thank you very much for stopping by and wish you all a happy Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 71 & More Sneak Peeks

Remember I said it was going to snow here yesterday? Well, it did, big flakes for a while. Thankfully it only settled on the grass and not the road. Work was nice again yesterday and my boss Nancy gave me a rosary that she had blessed on her trip to Israel where Christ was anointed and also in the Church of Bethlehem. That’s a pretty big deal, and I’m not very religious and know that! I have to admit that I felt a little different after she gave it to me. I can’t explain exactly how, but I did. I also had some “tangent time” with Andrew last night, always a good time, not very productive but fun! LOL!

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS071 12-11-2013

A very geometric filled sketch so that’s what I went with. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and for the background I used a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper*.  My tag is created using the Angled Tag Topper Punch* and a piece of Smoky Slate with some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon threaded through the top. The triangles and circles are form the Geometrical Stamp Set* and are stamped in Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. The circles are punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and the triangles with the Triangle Punch*. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits*. I thought it needed a little something more to balance it so I punched out some Basic Black with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered all of the pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I don’t usually use a background that is as busy as the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper but I figured I would give it a try. You’ll have to let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Hop on over to the blog to see what the others have done and enter your card in the gallery and you could be one of our featured artists next week! Enjoy your Wednesday peeps! 🙂

I used some new goodies from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Catalog and some from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock. My strip of paper on the left is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack**. I adhered it to a piece of Sahara Sand for extra stability and wrapped some Linen Thread around it before adhering it to the base. A piece of Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies* is the first layer for my stamped images. Next up is a piece of Whisper White that I punch out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. All of the stamped images are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I used the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Circle Punches to punch them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Sahara Sand and cut out with the Word Bubble Framelits Dies*. I love the colors in the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper* and I still can’t get enough of the gold! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I had a nice Sunday and hope that you did too! I woke up a little late yesterday morning but I still managed to get some stuff done that I had on my list. I went and met my friend Heather and we had some lunch and ran some errands. I came home and completed some of my projects and worked on my presentation. It snowed here for a little bit, not my favorite thing to see falling from the sky! It was only a little bit but more than enough for me! It’s supposed to be rainy today so I’ll be glad to get home later. Hopefully work will be quiet… ha!

I wanted to thank Ann for choosing my card for her Cut Above for last week’s challenge. You can see my original post here and the Paper Players post here. The inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us these colors to work with…

Paper Players #175

Even with the pink in there I saw a Christmas card! LOL! I also used some goodies from the 2014 Occasions Catalog, you can get your hands on them starting January 3rd! My card starts off with a base of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock and I used my favorite new die the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* to cut out some Whisper White for my background. Some Silver Glimmer Paper and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies make the snowflake. The flagged piece of Old Olive is the backing for some of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum*. My tag is made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch* and Old Olive. I stamped some images from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple and Pink Pirouette and punched them out with the Mosaic Punch. The rest of the images and greeting are form the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set. I used the Word Window Punch to punch out the Christmas and backed it with a piece of Brushed Silver Card Stock that I cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. To complete the card I used some matte silver and metallic silver sequins, I do love some sequins! The Hexagon Hive Die is definitely my favorite new product from the Occasions Catalog. I love the way that some of the hexagons are cut out and some are left so the base peeks through. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Anne Marie. Thanks very much for stopping by and for all of your comments! They always brighten my day! Have a great one! 🙂
