Paper Craft Crew 177

Again… way too cold for me! It was incredibly windy here yesterday, like gale force wind which made it even colder! Nope, not for me! I was at Scrap-A-Latte all day and I spoke to Michael, FaceTimed with Andrea, got a visit from my friend Paul, I even got to see Angie before her class. When I got to my parent’s Daniel was still there so I got see him for a bit and had some dinner. I came home and made a quick card before heading over to Heather’s to help her with some computer stuff. We did a quick Target run and watched some YouTube videos while waited for the Mac to update. A very good day indeed!

My quick card that I made is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS177 DT Sketch 1-13-2016

I mentioned that I got some new goodies from Stampin’ Up! and they helped me create today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. Across that is a piece of Basic Black that I embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting and flower are from the Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb and flagged the ends before adhering it to the black with Foam Tape. The rose is stamped in Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush and Smoky Slate, the leaves in Pear Pizzaz, Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow, they are all cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and one big Sparkling Clear Sequin complete the card. I love the way all of the black really makes the rose pop! I also love the shading that the Smoky Slate gives to the rose! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Don’t forget to check out the blog and see what the rest of the Team has done! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂

Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Good day everyone! I’m back in NY, missing my cousins already. We went our for a breakfast yesterday before heading to Heathrow. It started to pour once we got to the airport. Tracey and Jules waited with us for  a long while, we even sat and had a Costa Coffee before we said our goodbyes. The flight home on British Airways was really nice! We sat in Club World with the nice big seats that turn into a flat bed! Lunch was delicious and so was the snack before landing. My friend Betty met us at the plane and walked with us through to baggage claim and we were out in 15 minutes! Heather and Stephanie picked us up and Heather and I had our movie moment! LOL! I unpacked last night and went to be early so that I can try and reset my clock. Today I have some cleaning to do and then finally sit down and make a card, the first time in over two weeks! That has been the longest for me in over 4 years! Wish me luck! Here are some pictures from the plane yesterday…

BA Club World Seats

Our nice big comfy seats, and yes, you sit facing the back of the plane!

BA Club World TV

A view from the seat just as we were flying out into the Atlantic.

Now on to today’s card which I actually made before I left. The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the “Vintage” Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate on a piece of Solar White 80lb. Down the left side is one of the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Real Red and up in the right corner is a stamp from the “Vintage” Office Ephemera Stamp Set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Two of the stamps from the same set are stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Basics Set and is stamped in Pacific Point, Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, the stamps are adhered with SNAIL and the butterfly and greeting are adhered with Foam Tape. For the greeting I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket Border Die and stamped it from the Butterfly Basics Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I resisted the urge to add some sequins, LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for sticking with me through these last two weeks and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 412

So, another weekend done. It was Michael’s last weekend here, he goes home on Saturday. I have had the best time with him this summer! It is going to very hard to say goodbye but hopefully it won’t be for too long. There are a lot of people rooting for him to come back ASAP! It’s also my last week at work for a while. As of Friday I’m on vacation until September 21st! I have Sunday and Monday to pack and then I’m off to London with my friend Brian for two weeks. I will be blogging but not a card every day. I’ll be sharing pictures and tales of my travels. Hopefully you will come along with me on my trip!

The start of another week and it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo412

I wanted to do something a little different, play with color a little bit. The base for my card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. For the background I used a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. That large cool globe is the Tim Holtz Globe Die cut from Cucumber Crush and backed with a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The tag is cut from a piece of Crumb Cake using the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Framelits and Stamps. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Follow My Heart Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord thorough the hole before adhering it to a strip of Vellum with Fun Foam and SNAIL. That is then adhered to the card with more SNAIL hidden behind the tag. A Red Glimmer Paper heart is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered to the corner of the tag with Foam Tape. I love the subtle neutrals with the pop of the Cucumber Crush and Pacific Point, it really makes the globe stand out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by today! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Fab Friday 71

Hello my friends and welcome to Friday! My other visit to the off-site location for work yesterday was a good one. I got a lot accomplished the rest of the day too. After dinner I came home and Skyped with Andrea for a bit and worked on some projects. Taylor stopped by and we watched some of Enemy of the State, still a good movie after all of theses years. The rest of the evening was pretty quiet. Tonight Michael is going to make dinner, I’m looking forward to that! The weekend, who knows! I do have to share a picture of little Daniel from the wedding that he went to in the Dominican Republic. He really needs to be in Gap ads!

Daniel DR 2015

Love his little outfit, especially the sleeves rolled up!

Another good thing about this Friday, it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge…

Fab Fri 71 8-21-2015

It’s too early for such fall colors! LOL! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flagged two pieces of paper, one from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack and another from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. The larger flag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Blackberry Bliss is also flagged and adhered to the large flag with Foam Tape. The greeting and stamped image are from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set, the image is stamped in Delightful Dijon and the greeting in Tangelo Twist and Blackberry Bliss. I used the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits to cut out the greeting and they are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A piece of Hemptique Harvest Hemp Cord is tied in a bow around the Blackberry Bliss piece and a few My Minds Eye Wicked Enamel Dots are adhered under the greeting. A fun simple card just because! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Fab Friday Color challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for visiting today and have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 263 & Card Class Cards!

Another beautiful day here on Long Island and a happy Saturday to you! Yesterday after work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of card class with Michael. We had some Red Robin burgers for dinner with Nicholas, yum! LOL! The class was lots of fun as always, the Friday night crowd is a little rowdier than Thursday. Here is a picture of Melissa, Andrew and I…

RC SAL Card Class Peeps

After class I came home and worked on my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael while he gives his baby book class and then we are off to Manhattan tonight to stay at Kim’s again. Tomorrow we will be working at The Ink Pad so come on by if you are in the area! Speaking of The Ink Pad, if you take a little detour and go over to see Jenny of at Craft Test Dummies she has a post and a video about her little visit to The Ink Pad and you can see what she picked up!

If you scroll down to the bottom you can see my two cards that I made for card class using Reverse Confetti. I’m loving that little bird on the birthday card!

No on to my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 263

I went with a nice simple card using one of my favorite sets from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set on a piece of Rich Razzleberry in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the strip across the lower half of the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzaz on Solar White 80lb. I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut it out and adhered it to the card with a strip of Foam Tape. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes off the card. I do love that butterfly and since it’s Photopolymer it’s nice and easy to stamp the three different colors. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to stop by and visit with me! Enjoy your Saturday my friends! 🙂

SIP Challenge 9 – A Sketch!

Monday, glad that you are done! It wasn’t too bad of a day at work so no complaints. I came home, ate dinner and then retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to work on some projects! I needed to get a few cards made and I still have a few more to go before I get all caught up! I really do love to end the day with a little creativity! Now if I could just find a way to get to be creative all day! Any suggestions?! LOL! I have some more pictures to share with you today from my adventures with Michael over the weekend!

Mini FlatIron

We just thought that this building was really cool! Love the pops of red!

Chinatown Street Art 1

And this is what I mean by seeing the city in a while new way! I never noticed that on the building before!

Chinatown Street Art 2

Michael has a great eye for street art! How cool is that?!

I’ll have some more pictures for you tomorrow! Now lets get to today’s post which is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time we have a sketch for you…

SIP Sketch Challenge 9

I had fun putting together my card and I think that you could use it for a couple of different occasions! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a circle from a piece of Smoky Slate with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and then embossed it with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. It’s adhered to a piece of Basic Black with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The images are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink for the flowers and Catkin for the leaves. They are die cut using the matching 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Craft Dies and adhered in the negative circle with Glue Dots and Foam Tape. My greeting is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Wafer Thin Die and it’s adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A little Stardust Stickles is added to the centers of the flower and completes the card! I think that this would make a fun Wedding card but also be great just for any time you need a congratulations card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s card! We hope that you will enter one in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch! Thank you for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 193

Yay it’s Friday! Boo, I have to work! Hopefully it will be a quick day! Yesterday was overcast but nice, lots of thing accomplished at work. Robin and I had Panera for lunch, I got my favorite the Chicken Cobb with Avocado Salad, YUM! After work I came home and made a few cards and then went out to the Saab to see if I could fix the iPod cable. Of course, I didn’t check to see which replacement I needed and I guessed wrong! Oh well, we’ll have to try that again! Nothing like taking apart the entire dashboard all for nothing! Happy thoughts! LOL!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 193

I went super clean! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black with two pieces of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Calypso Coral and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collections Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and two Basic Jewels Rhinestones are adhered to the centers of the flowers for some sparkle! Nice and simple but I really love it, that DSP is definitely one of my favorites, love the colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Woodgrain Vellum Embossed Butterfly Wish

Ahh… Wednesday, the halfway mark! My day yesterday was nice. I had a somewhat productive day at work, got some things done which like I always say is a good thing. After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Renee and Michael. We discussed some crafty things and I got my stamps for the next class. We headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and made sure that we embarrassed Renee with some birthday shenanigans, it’s her birthday on Sunday. An early happy birthday to her! The rest of the evening was spent crafting. Another great day! Yay!

I also got a very nice present from a wonderful person… so nice to get a just because, thoughtful gift! I’m a little obsessed with London, especially the Underground. This is a vintage map of the London Underground from circa 1950…

Vintage London Underground Map MT

Today I have a nice simple card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I inked up the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand and stamped it directly onto the card base. The greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black directly onto the card too. My butterfly is heat embossed with two of the three layers form the Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Stamp Set in “Vintage” Pool Party and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. The body is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I used a piece of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card. A nice simple card that would make a fun birthday, thank you or thinking of you card to brighten someones day! I hope that you enjoyed my quick card for today! As always, thanks so much for spending some time with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

A super happy Friday to you! Hopefully it will be a super happy Friday for me too! Fingers crossed that the car is ready today! 😀 I had a great day yesterday! I got some stuff accomplished at the office which sometimes can be a feat in itself! After work I put the top down in the car and stopped by the house quick before heading over to pick up Michael. We went to Scrap-A-Latte so that Renee and Michael could discuss his upcoming classes. Michael are even going to try and do a joint class together! From there we stopped at Friday’s for some eats. Love those warm pretzels with the craft beer cheese! After dinner I drove him out to Astoria where he is staying at a friends apartment in his old building. He is working at the Ink Pad in Manhattan and it’s a nice quick commute! A pretty great day! 🙂

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…

Fab Fri 67 6-26-2015

All of the fun new In-Colors! I have to admit that I thought about this one for a while! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The entire front is covered in a Mint Macaroon striped piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Star Framelits to cut out pieces of Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder in graduating sizes and adhered them from smallest on the bottom with some SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Tip Top Taupe with the left side flagged. It’s also adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects for, well, a little sparkle! I really do like that Pretty Petals DSP Stack, the colors in it are fun and the patterns are nice and varied! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Take a minute to visit the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery! Thanks so much for spending some of your day with me! Control Freaks June Blog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is more goodies from the NEW 2015-2016 Annual Catalog! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the very clever Debbie Henderson’s blog, she always has great projects doesn’t she?! Today, I have a card and a matching tag using one of my favorite new stamp sets from the new Catalog!

Up first is the card that starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Blackberry Bliss. To create the shaker I started by stamping the Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp in White Staz-On Ink on a piece of Window Sheet. The frame is a piece of Very Vanilla that I cut using my Stampin’ Trimmer. It’s adhered to the Window Sheet with SNAIL. My greeting is from the Butterfly Basics and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Mint Macaroon. I put some Foam Tape around the edges of the back of the frame, doubled up for a little extra height, and then filled it with some clear seed beads and clear sequins. The back and the front are adhered together and then to the card base. My large butterfly is from the Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Very Vanilla. The second layer is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the I cut it out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits and adhered it to the card with some more Foam Tape. I do love to make a shaker card and the addition of seed beads keeps everything moving!

CF June Tour - Card-WM

For the coordinating tag the butterfly is created in the same way except it is stamped off once. I made the tag myself because I wanted it a little wider than the punch would accommodate. The Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp is stamped on the tag with Blackberry Bliss and the greeting is again heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I adhered the butterfly to the tag and tied a piece of Gold Baker’s Twine through the top. It hung on a bottle of MacMurray Ranch Pinot Grigio. A nice quick way to dress up a bottle of wine!

CF June Tour - Tag-WM

I hope that you enjoyed my card and tag for this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour and your look at some more of the new products from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog! Thank you very much for stopping by! Now to continue on with the tour I’ll send you off to my very talented friend Melissa Davies! Have a wonderful day everyone! 🙂
