Paper Craft Crew 173

Ok, Wednesday, yup, the week is moving along at a rapid pace as usual! Yesterday I attempted to get some more stuff done, couldn’t get out of my own way… again. I FaceTimed with Andrea and I did get to talk to Michael and spend some time with little Daniel. He came over to Uncle Justin’s for a visit and touched everything in the apartment once again! But he’s so cute he’s allowed to! After dinner I took a ride over to a local ceramics store so I could get some replacement plastic bulbs for my grandmother’s ceramic Christmas tree which I inherited! The lady there went through the bins and found me some including a new star for the top. When I asked her how much she wanted she said nothing, have a happy holiday! Don’t you love when things like that happen?! The store is called Mom’s Ceramics and it’s on North Broadway in Massapequa. If you are local and looking for some crafty stuff to do pay them a visit! When I got home I watched The Man from U.N.C.L.E., pretty good spy movie. Today I’m back over to Sue’s to work on more Etsy stuff. Speaking of Etsy since I had so many issues with the Stamp Sets in my Store they are now over on my friend Sue’s store at reduced prices. If you are looking for any sets check out Flower Craft Emporium! I have added some cards to the store and will be adding more over the next few weeks!

Today my card takes us over to the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

PCCCS173 DT Sketch 12-02-2015

A nice simple sketch and I had fun making the card mixing elements! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I spattered it with some Heidi Swapp Navy Color Shine and put is aside to dry. The main panel is a piece of Bo Bunny Altitude 6×6 Paper that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals Dies. It’s backed with some Fun Foam and adhered with SNAIL. I tucked a piece of Night of Navy that I flagged on the right side behind the oval. My snowflake is a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake. I used some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere it to another snowflake that is cut from Solar White 80lb and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings Holiday Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Blackberry Bliss with both ends flagged. It’s adhered with some Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon and Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I do really enjoy a little woodgrain don’t I?! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Fab Friday 74

Hmm… I wonder what today is?! Wait… don’t tell me… I know! It’s FRIDAY! LOL! The weather here has been dismal to say the least. Last night I came home and made a few cards and then out to dinner with the family again. It was mum’s Birthday yesterday and she decided that she wanted to go to Applebee’s. The same crowd as Tuesday although little Daniel was a bit of a terror! After he finished his quesadilla and ketchup and broccoli and ketchup he was done and I mean done. Things started flying all over the place. He is approaching the terrible twos so I guess this is the start! Today hopefully work will go fast, I’m off to The Apple Store and dinner with Anthony and Bill tonight. Tomorrow I will be in Manhattan visiting my friends Jim and Diane and then Sunday I will be working at The Ink Pad! If you are around stop in and say hi!

Michael has been on a roll lately! He has another card, this time for the Paper Players, and is participating in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge that Kathy is hosting over at The Daily Marker! Click HERE to go and check it out!

What could make Friday better you ask? Well, it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge…

Fab Fri 74 10-02-2015

I love the sketch and I had some fun playing around with the stamp set from this month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I inked a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink using my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool for the background. The main panel is more 80lb stamped with the glasses, in Cloudy Sky and Sunkist Ink, from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set to create a pattern. It’s adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greetings are from the same set. They are all heat embossed, the I see you in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and the ampersand along with the I Love You in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black. I punched the ampersand out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch, that along with the I Love You is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Some carefully hidden 2-Way Glue adheres the I see you and some Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins complete the card. I love the fact that you can “build” your greeting with the set and the glasses are just fun! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge! Take a quick peek over on the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s projects and enter your take in the gallery! Thank you so very much for visiting me today! Have an amazingly fabulous Friday peeps! 🙂

Sketched Blooms Hello

Hi there and happy Saturday to you! I woke up to some rain this morning, which was unexpected! It’s supposed to be in the 80’s today, let’s hope that those weathermen are correct! I had a nice Friday, it was National Donut Day so Marissa and I went to Dunkin’ Donuts in the morning. She got a box of Munchkins for the training that she was teaching and I got a coffee (not really a Dunkin’ coffee fan) but it came with a free Oreo donut, yum! When I got home from work (I departed at 3:30!) I sat down to make a card and Skyped with Andrea for a bit. Anthony and Bill came and picked me up at 6:00 and we headed to Costco. I needed to get some Crunchy Rice Rollers and of course found lots more things! $100 later and we were off to dinner at Fridays. Before they dropped me off we stopped at Target so Anthony could pick up a new stylus. When I got back to the house Taylor was here watching her Pretty Little Liars marathon (so did not expect that!). She left around 12:00 and I decided that it was time for bed! Last weekend Daniel and his parents went to the Long Island Live Steamers, it’s a place where you can go and ride on small scale trains and learn all about precision steam model making. In true Daniel style his mum had him dress the part. The picture was just too cute not share!

Daniel LILS

Little engineer Daniel! 🙂

I have a update about our friend DiesBy Dave. He has a Pinterest board that you can follow HERE. If you want to contact him you can click HERE and send him an email! 🙂

Now on to today’s card which I made and sent to a very special person as a thank you for a sweet little gift that I received! It was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest a while back. The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Some Washi Tape from Michaels is adhered to a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb along with a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4.5 x 6.5 Paper Pad. My tag is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die and stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. The flowers, leaves and greeting are all from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the leaves in Night of Navy and Smoky Slate on White, the flowers and greeting are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, the flowers on Vellum and the greeting on Night of Navy. To cut the flowers and leaves out I used the coordinating Sketch Blooms Die Collection. Some American Craft Navy Jute Twine is tied through the top of the tag and the tag is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The inspiration for the colors was the Washi Tape and I just love those flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my little thank you card for today! Have a super, simple Saturday and thank for sharing some of it with me! 🙂

Paper Players 237

Yesterday was a very good day! I did wake up late but managed to still get most of the stuff done that I wanted to. Heather came by for breakfast and Andrew stopped by too! It was nice to catch up with Andrew, we have both been really busy lately and I forgot how much fun I have with him. We are going to go to the movies on Tuesday night to see Insurgent, can’t wait for that! After Andrew left I headed over to the Scrap-A-Latte and finished up helping Renee prep for class tonight. I also gave her the six cards that I made using some of the scrapbooking supplies that she sells. I wanted to show how you can use them for making really neat cards too! I hung out there and chatted for a while, some more down time! When I got home I Skyped with Eva while I made some cards for this week. Like I said, a very nice day indeed! As promised here is the video of Satellite Lane’s performance at Harmony Sweeps. Forgive the wobble, I was resting my iPhone on my friend Anthony’s wheelchair!

Pretty cool that they did a skit and not just some songs! 🙂

Well, it’s Monday and you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #237

My friend Andrea sent me a fun stamp set and I just had to use it! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The panel is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and is backed with a piece of Basic Black. I tucked three banners in Mossy Meadow, Always Artichoke and Pear Pizzaz under it. The pickles are all heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the same colors and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used a Gelly Roll Black pen for their eyes, makes them look a little more realistic! They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Pear Pizzaz and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. A few sequins from Hazel & Ruby and Pretty Pink Posh are sprinkled on the left side of the panel and finish the card! I think that it’s a really fun stamp set and there is a little bit of an inside joke about the pickle! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. I also hope that you enjoyed the video and as always, thank you so much for stopping by! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 172

Yes, I saw the heart and made another Valentine’s card! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and my background is a piece of Very Vanilla that is stamped in Blushing Bride, stamped off once, with the “Vintage” En Français Background Stamp. Across the middle is a piece of Naturals Ivory with a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord wrapped around and tied in a bow. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card. The XOXO is from the Circle Card Thinlits and is cut from a piece of Blushing Bride. I used the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart to cut out some Champagne Glimmer Paper and some Designer Series Paper. Hmm.. what DSP is that?! The feather is also a Simon Says Stamp die and it too is cut from Champagne Glimmer Paper. They are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Yes, I am still in love with that Sketch Heart and I have missed that En Français Background Stamp! So there is yet another Valentine! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thanks for stopping by to see the pictures and what I have been up to! Enjoy your Thursday! 🙂

PCCCS130 DT Sketch 2-04-2015

Yes, I have another Valentine’s card! You can never have too much love! LOL! Today’s card starts with a Whisper White Card Stock base. Two pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack adhered to a piece of Basic Black create the background. I adhered a piece of Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the back and then adhered it to the card base. The greeting is from the So You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and backed with a piece of Whisper White. It’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The large heart is from the January Paper Pumpkin kit, I heat embossed it in white Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum along with two stamps from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set. The large heart is cut out with my Paper Snips and the two small hearts are punched out with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I adhered all of the hearts with some 2-Way Glue. To finish off the card I adhered some sequins along the lower right. I really like the white embossed love on the black with the bold background. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to check out the other design team members projects. Ahh Wednesday… so good to see you again! We are at the halfway point thankfully! I got to run around the office today with the painter and the electrician, nope, nothing to do with my actual job but that’s the way it goes. They are both really nice people so it’s all good. I got a text from Kim around 3:00 asking me if I wanted to go over there for dinner, well of course I did! It was nice to have Brian, Kim, Heather and I all sitting around laughing! Those are some of the best nights! Dinner was great too, Chicken Enchiladas from scratch. Brian is a really good cook! I managed to get my card made for today’s post before I went over for dinner, love when it all just falls into place!

Speaking of today’s card it’s for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

PCCCS127 Sketch 1-14-2015

A nice simple sketch and I was going to go for the circle but I decided that I would ink up a new stamp set instead. My card base is Wisteria Wonder Card Sock and the background is a piece of Whisper White. I stamped some of the images from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz on the background. My greeting is from the Simply Wonderful Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and then the background is adhered to the base with SNAIL. A strip of So Saffron goes across the middle. I adhered two banners stamped with the Banner Banter Stamp Set, one in Pear Pizzaz and one in So Saffron, both punched out with the Banner Punch and adhered to the back of the So Saffron strip. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and So Saffron. I used the Flower MedallionPunch and the 1/2″ Circle punch to punch them out and adhered them to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tucked under the flower is a Subtles Designer Button with some “Vintage” Wisteria Wonder Baker’s Twine tied in a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot. Three sequins down the left side complete the card. Yes, more spring like colors to help chase away all of the cold! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. SUO Challenges 114

It was a very rainy and dreary Monday here on Long Island today. Although the rain did make it a bit warmer than it has been. Like I always say I’ll take rain over snow any day! Work was work, nothing special. I came home and had dinner and then made my card for today. I ran over to Kim’s for a quick visit and that was pretty much it. Nothing exciting to report, a quiet sort of day. How are things by you? I’m getting ready to go and See sam Smith on Thursday at Madison Square Garden with Andrew. Kim and Brian also got tickets! It is going to be a great show and I can’t wait!!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Lots of Dots challenge. I sat there for a minute thinking about what I was going to use and then I remembered a certain Designer Series Paper that fit the bill. Today’s card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper backed with some Basic Gray. I stamped the ampersand from the You Plus Me Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush and punched it out with the Note Tag Punch. A piece of Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine is tied in a bow and the tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Silver Glimmer Paper is punched out with the Sweetheart Punch and adhered in the upper right. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Strawberry Slush and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it and the heart the card. A few 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins finish off the card. A nice simple eclectic Valentine for that someone special! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Lots of Dots challenge. Take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done and enter your project in the gallery. Thanks so much for coming by to see me today. Enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 132

Happy Thursday to you! Only one day away from my favorite day of the week! Today was a busy day at work, but a good one, I actually got some things accomplished which is always good. I left work a little early today and met Andrew to take the train into Manhattan. On our walk up I passed the Giant Needle and Button in the Garment District and it reminded me of my friend LeAnne so I took a picture of it.

Giant Needle and Button

We met up with my friend Kim for some dinner, we went to Zuni. The burgers were pretty good, however, I would stay away from the garlic mashed potatoes. LOL! Afterwards we headed over to Times Square and Andrew and Satellite Lane performed some songs in front of Military Island. The reason they were in the city was to sing for a wedding proposal. After some impromptu singing, the couple showed up and at 8:45 a picture came on the SONY Jumbo-Tron in Times Square where the man asked for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. Satellite Lane gathered around and performed “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. A large crowd gathered and all cheered for the happy, newly engaged couple! I have to say, it was quite an experience to watch it happen in person. Below you can see a clip of them performing one of the songs they did before the proposal, Andy Grammer’s “Keep Your Head Up”.

Satellite Lane Times Square 4-2014

Yes, it was a little chilly last night but it pretty cool, huh?! If you’d like to keep up with all of Satellite Lane’s happenings, you can visit their website HERE.

I got home a little late last night as you can imagine, but decided to do my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches #132

It was a great sketch because it was perfect for a quick card. The card base is Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. I rounded the corners on the top of the background and card with the 1″ Circle Punch. My image and greeting are both from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set. The heart is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with my Paper Snips. For the greeting I heat embossed the “Hello Friend” on a piece of Pool Party in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Both elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, a nice simple card! Since Pool Party is a light color, the card almost has a monochromatic look to it, but because of the stripes, the heart and sentiment really jump off the face of the card. Let me know what you think of my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thanks very much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the video as well and that you have a very good Thursday! 🙂

A Birthday Card & Sneak Peek

Happy day after Christmas! Did you get everything that you wanted? I certainly did! I got to spend the first part of the day with my family. I have some pictures for you too. The second half of the day Andrew came by and we just hung out. He is doing well, just some eye discomfort. We also had a Jewish Christmas dinner as he put it, Chinese food! I hope that all of you had equally wonderful Christmas days! I did get to see my little nephew yesterday too. In the first picture you can see that he is hanging on my every word! LOL!

Either that or he is thinking what is this nut talking about! Oh, and if you look on the wall behind me you can see me when I was little! The next picture is Daniel, my brother Jason, his wife Erika and I. Can you tell that we are related?!

Daniels is bored with the entire process that is going on! He did have a very cute little sweater on though, and the shoes!

Today I have a birthday card that I sent to a very good friend of mine who lives out in Indiana. I had actually just gotten my box of goodies when I made this card so all of the stuff on it is from the 2014 Occasions Catalog that you can order from starting January 3, 2014! The base of the card is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper Pack*. The frame, filmstrip, camera and arrow are all cut out with the On Film Framelits Dies*. The frame from Coastal Cabana with So Saffron and the filmstrip and camera from Gold Foil Sheet. The arrow has a greeting from the Express Yourself Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. The greeting in the middle of the filmstrip is from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set* and is also stamped in Tangerine Tango. It’s a fun colorful card and I love the gold accents. I hope that you enjoyed my birthday card and pictures for today’s post. Thanks so much for paying me a visit, have a great Thursday! 🙂
