Once again people, it is my favorite day of the week… FRIDAY!!!!! It seemed to take a little longer to get here this week, but I’m happy we have arrived. We had two snow squalls here today. If you follow me on Instagram (@jrk912), I uploaded a video of one of them. It was a brisk 9° when I woke up this morning and we are supposed to hit a high of a whopping 21 today! I would like my 58° back from last weekend please. Tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan for a little while. If I can manage to take my hands out of my pockets while walking around, I’ll be sure to take some pictures for you to enjoy!
What makes this Friday more awesome than last Friday? It’s time for the next Fab Friday challenge! This time around we have a color challenge for you…
If you pay close attention to the colors, they are actually in the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. Remember yesterday when I said that I tried something new, that something new was using Embossing Paste. My card base is a piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Black. The honeycomb pattern on the Basic Black is created by using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die to cut out a piece of card stock that I used temporary adhesive to adhere to the background. I tinted the Embossing Paste with Crushed Curry Re-Inker and then used a credit card to spread it over the Die Cut. Once it was covered, I removed the Die Cut and let it dry. The flowers are from the Simple Stems Stamp Set, are stamped in Strawberry Slush on Whisper White and are cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. The butterfly is from the Nature’s Hello Host(ess) Stamp Set (apparently my stamp set of the week!), is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits Dies. All of the flowers and the butterfly are adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Trying out the Embossing Paste was definitely an interesting experience but I think it came out pretty nice! Let me know what you think in the comments. So there is my Fab Friday card for the color challenge. Make sure you pay a visit to the blog to see what my fellow Design Team members have come up with and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery as well! As always, I greatly appreciate you stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic Friday! 🙂
