Mojo 342

Well, I’m glad that Wednesday is behind us! That was a long day indeed! I got home around 10:15, way too long of a day. For as long as it was it wasn’t too bad of a day. It was really windy here yesterday again and didn’t feel very spring like and today promises more of the same. One day Spring will finally get here and stay, I hope! Today will be a good day and tomorrow will be even better, hopeful I will get to sneak out a little early. I didn’t get to go the airport yesterday to set up the TV, they need to get some kind of variance for the space so we have to wait for that first. Always something to cause a delay, but that’s just the way it goes! How are things by you? Hopefully all is well! 🙂

Today my post is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge from Julee Tilman…

Mojo342

For some reason, I had an inner need to use the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper on today’s card. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock and my background and strip of paper down the middle (which is backed with a piece of Strawberry Slush) are both from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper Pack. Next up is a strip of Basic Gray that I cut along the bottom edge with the Finishing Touches Edgelits. My square is a piece of Crushed Curry backed with a piece of Basic Black and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Starburst Framelits and that, too, is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The arrow is a piece of Strawberry Slush that I cut out with one of the elements from the Label Card Thinlits and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. I’m a big fan of all of the geometric patterns in the Kaleidoscope DSP as well as the colors, they are nice and bright and who doesn’t need a little brightness in their day? I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I always appreciate your visits and I hope your Thursday is a good one!

  1. I love today’s card, Justin! The message is so uplifting and the colors in the DSP are so bright and vibrant. A good card to give someone a well needed boost!

    1. Thank you Melanie! Yes, that is one of my favorite greetings and I love the colors in that DSP! Definitely a good booster card! Have a great day! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin,
Happy Day before Friday!!! It sounds like you will definitely be ready for Friday to be here!
I really like this card, very graphic and I love the balance of color against the black and white.
I like everything about this card and don’t own one item! Except for the cardstock!
Now that the retirement list has come out and project life and then the new catalog, I will be placing orders like crazy, and now with free shipping, how can I not order!!
Anyway, Sorry I haven’t posted this week, I am having a new bathroom put into my basement, so I have been crazy busy with all the entails…I keep telling myself, This will all be worth it!
    Hope your Thursday is great,
    Donna

    1. Hello Donna!
A happy day before Friday to you too! I am so ready for it this week! Thanks, the card was fun to make. I have way too much stuff but I need it! LOL! Yes, the FREE shipping is great, although it kills me to wait 7 days to get my stuff! A new bathroom is a big job but it definitely will be worth it when it’s all finished! Thanks for taking some time today to show me some love. Right back at you! Have a great day! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin! Wow…such a long day for you yesterday! Hang in there…it’s almost your favorite day of the week! Love this card! The bright colors and geometrical shapes and of course, the sentiment! I think your blog followers will agree with me that YOU make our world a better place! 😉 Have a wonderful Thursday and thanks for sharing with us!

    1. Hey Karen!
Yes, it was a very long day indeed, but it’s over so it’s all good! Friday will be here before you know it! Thank you! The sentiment is definitely great as are the colors. I really can never express how much better all of you make my world! I appreciate the time you share with me too! I hope your day is great! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin,
Love the graphics. I felt like it was a Where is Waldo. I recognized many elements of shapes, cuts and triangles. I said to myself, the star burst-oh this matches; the rotary cut trim-oh this matches; the DSP, etc. The colors are also very bright and cheery. Great, great, great. 🙂

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you! It’s very modern and fun that DSP. I do like a repeated pattern, it definitely helps to tie everything together. I hope you have a very enjoyable Thursday! 🙂

  5. Good Morning Justin:
The Kaleidoscope DSP is my favorite ever! I think that’s because you don’t have to have every color ink pad to match it up with something. I use the triangle sheet a lot against a black background card stock and it really is an eye popper. I bet this was a fun card to make. One more day and you can play…………………..

    1. I think it might be my favorite ever too Grace! The triangle sheet is the definitely the best one! Thank you! It was a fun card to make. Yes… tomorrow we have Friday! 🙂

  6. Like your card ! This card would be a great example of Card Making 101….you did everything from A to Z in your version of this sketch . I love how you stuck to the sketch (except the flower …arrow works better ) plus you pulled your colors from the dsp for your CS and used a more subtle pattern for your back ground ! If I taught card making I would use this card for newbies ! Well done Justin !

    1. Thank you Sonny! That’s a great way to look at the card. I didm’t even think of it! I love it when people see things in my stuff that I miss! Have a great day!! 🙂
