Well, it was another gorgeous weekend here on Long Island! Sunny but not too hot just how I like it! I got lots of crafty things done yesterday and spent some time outside enjoying the weather. It was just too nice to be indoors all day! I hope the weather was nice by you and you got some outside time in too! Did you all enjoy the Creation Station Blog Tour yesterday? I hope that you got some inspiration for your new catalog goodies! I really need to order some of those Gift Card Holders, they are neat! Today I have some pictures for you! I did manage to take a few pictures while I was in Manhattan on Saturday. They are not very exciting but a little glimpse of what I get to see. The first one is of the elevated pedestrian walkway at Hunter College…
Pretty cool how it just goes across Lexington Avenue! The next one is of Bloomingdale’s which I’m sure you have all heard of…
Another Lexington Avenue Staple! It’s funny because before I went into the store I pictured it much bigger than it is. Next I took a really cool picture from under the Citibank Building…
It’s one of my favorite buildings in the city. It’s on stilts! If you Google it you can see a lot of neat information about the construction. They had some problems in the beginning. I also like how the sun is reflecting off of the building next to it!
Remember the Blog Candy winner Karen? Well, she was so sweet and sent me a thank you card and a little gift! I love them both and think they are amazing! Here is the card and cute notepad using the Stamp Set A Happy Hooray that she won!
Thank you so much Karen! What a nice surprise to get in the mail! 🙂
Now we are on to today’s post. It’s for the Paper Players 200 challenge! Wow! I have been participating since challenge #78 and haven’t missed one! The ladies have chosen their favorites from the past 200 and you can then pick one of them! I went with the one that Nance choose…
I picked it because it was before I started playing! Yes, I used the Star Framelits again! LOL! I just can’t get enough of them! My card base is Basic Black Card Stock. The background is some Silver Foil Sheet that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The two stars are from the Be the Star Stamp Set and are stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Stars Framelits. I cut out a piece of Vellum Card Stock with the Circles Collection Framelits to back the star and make it stand out a bit more. My greeting is form the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Project Life Card & Labels Framelits. I punched out another piece of Silver Foil Sheet with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to go over the star on the greeting. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really am loving the Star Framelits (promise I’ll put them aside for bit! LOL!) and the Bermuda Bay with the silver and black is a great combination, don’t you think?! I really hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players 200 anniversary sketch challenge. Thank you very much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to and I hope you have a great Monday! 🙂

Hello Beth!
Yes! There is a ton to see looking up in NY! Thank you! I’m happy you enjoyed the card! You are going to have fun on Friday! You enjoy your week too! 🙂
Boy did I read the title wrong. I thought it said 200 pics! I missed the &!! The gift and Karen’s card are great! Your card is great too. The stars are on my wish list!
LOL! That would have been a lot of pictures! Yes, Karen’s card and gift are great! Glad you like mine too! The stars are fun! 🙂
Hi Justin and Happy Monday! Love your pics of the city. I’m intrigued by the CitiBank building…stilts, really? I pictured the Bloomingdale’s building a little different as well. LOVE your card and can’t wait to get my hands on the star framelits! I have the Pictogram Punches coming too! I love how you used the vellum underneath your big star. Fabulous! Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate that. I am really loving my stamp set in fact I used it to make thankyou cards for my ladies that ordered from my last workshop. Have a great day!
Hello and happy Monday to you too Karen! You should look up the Citibank Building! There is a story behind everything, I always look up stuff to find out more about it! As you can see I love the Star Framelits! LOL! The big star needed something to make it stand out and I love Vellum too! I really do love the card and notepad that you sent! Thank you again! I’m so glad that you are enjoying the stamp set! Enjoy your day too! 🙂
Hey Justin, so glad you liked it. Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate those. I just really wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your generosity and to let you know how much I enjoy your blog. (And I just wanted to do a little something nice for you! You deserve it!) 🙂
I really did appreciate it Karen! So nice of you! Love it!! Have a great day my friend! 🙂
Yay, so glad you are playing along with our 200th Paper Players challenge, Justin! (Though I had no doubt you would!) Love your shiny, starry creation. This stamp set may have to go on my wish list. Karen’s creations are gorgeous, too! Nothing better than unexpected goodies in the mail!
I haven’t missed one in a long time Sandy! LOL! It’s a fun simple card! I agree, a little unexpected prezzy in the mail is great! 🙂
PS: Does Karen have a blog? Or maybe a Splitcoast gallery?
I will have to ask if Karen has a blog, I feel terrible that I don’t know!
Hi Justin & Sandy! I don’t have a blog set up…just haven’t taken the time. I may do that one day. Thanks for the kind words…you guys made my day! 🙂
Thank you for answering! Well, if you need help let me know Karen!! You need to show off your work! 🙂
The silver foil card stock embossed with polka dots EF is absolutely “knock-your-socks-off” and add to that the vellum circle and the punched out star over the word “star” and this card turns into a masterpiece! I love every single thing about it Justin!
Thanks for sharing Manhattan photos with us once more. I know everyone just loves seeing them. One of these times when I’m in Manhattan I am actually going to go into Bloomies instead of just walking by. A few years ago I did make the mistake of going into Tiffany’s and boy, my charge card company just loved it and I expected to get a dang thank you card from them after that one. However, as I tell my girls, “every woman should own something from Tiffany’s during their lifetime”. LOL They held me to it and I ended up buying each of them one of the Tiffany heart lock necklaces. Now I keep my mouth shut! LOL
Have yourself a Marvelous Monday and again, this card was amazing.
Thank you very much Grace! I do like the way the Silver Foil Sheet embossed, they look like little jewels with the Polkadot one! I love sharing my Manhattan pics with you! I always just walk by Bloomingdale’s, I only went on once. Tiffany’s is a lot of fun and very expensive! I actually got a Thank You card from the manager of the Coach Store by me one Christmas, I spent a lot of money! Ha! It’s true that everyone should own something from Tiffany’s! Learned your lesson huh?! I hope you are having a good Monday! 🙂
Wow, this packs a punch with the Silver Foil and Bermuda Bay ink. The star really shines. How exciting to receive a surprise package in the mail. Such fun and great stuff. Going to checkout the Citibank building, interesting. I did a search on Sam Smith and listened to one of his songs. Don’t even remember the name of the song. Enjoyed it.
Thank you Lisa! Bermuda Bay is definitely a favorite and I love it with Silver! I loved my little package from Karen, so nice! I’m glad you enjoyed the Sam Smith song! I think he’s a very talented singer, he’s the male Adele! 🙂
Hey Justin,
Love the card! Great choice of colors! You just keep playing with the Star Framelets, more inspiration for me! HA-HA!!! 🙂 Hope you are enjoying your day.
Karen, you did an awesome job, as well. Love your choice of colors too. Take care and stay safe. XOXO Donna 🙂
Hello Donna!
Why thank you! LOL! I think people might get a little sick of the stars if I’m not careful! I had a nice day as I hope you did! 🙂
Hi Justin! Loved seeing your pictures in Manhatten. I haven’t been there in a few years, but have strolled down Lexington Ave. many times! Your card is fabulous! I just love the silver foil embossed with the polka dots! The vellum is the perfect touch behind the Bermuda Bay Star! Just awesome! X
Hello Claire!
Thanks! I’m happy to share them! It makes me so happy that you guys like seeing them! So glad you enjoyed the card too! 🙂
Karen’s card and gift is fantastic! Love the Silver paper on your card, really highlights this simple but gorgeous card
