Only today and tomorrow left at work. It’s a good thing too because work was a little irritating today. Sometimes it’s nice to be appreciated for the things that you do that aren’t your job (which encompasses most of my day) and I do a lot of those. Needless to say today I had one of the unappreciated moments. Like I said, two days left! Luckily I didn’t have much going on last night so I was able to have my craft therapy for a good 3 hours! Heather stopped by around 10:00 for a bit and I was up way too late again, oh well! LOL! How is your week going?
One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…
That Julee Tilman comes up with some really great sketches! I used one of my favorite stamp sets from the new catalog, one of the images that I haven’t used yet! My card for today starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Next up is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. The strip of paper going down the right is from the Back to Black Designer Series Paper Pack and I used some more Gold Foil Sheet that I punched with the Scallop Edge Punch along the right side. For the square I used the Squares Collection Framelits and my little marker trick with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker. I ran it though the Big Shot again with the Circles Collection Framelits to notch out the lower right corner. The flowers on the square and the greeting are from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set and are stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I punched the greeting out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and tucked it into the square. I like the way it lets what’s behind it peek through and the Back to Black DSP is great! I do hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and thank you very much for spending some time with me today! Enjoy your Thursday and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for my favorite day of the week! 🙂

Hi there Justin! Keep smilin’…tomorrow’s Friday!! 😉 I love your card!! This is my favorite stamp set 😉 !!! Love the richness to the colors and the gold really makes it all pop. I love your marker technique…it adds so much to the card! Such a pretty card! Have a great day and just think…you’re one day closer to retirement! 😉
Hello Karen!
I am always smiling when I am replying to you guys! Yes, tomorrow is Friday! Woo hoo! Thank you! I think it’s safe to say that it’s my favorite set too! Although I am dying to get Kinda Eclectic! Only a few more days! I like all of the dark with the gold and white. I told you that I would be using that marker technique a lot! LOL! Yes, one more day closer to retirement! Have a lovely day! 🙂
Well good morning Justin! What an elegant card to wake up to. My first thought was “this design would make an amazingly gorgeous wedding invitation”. As I read the description you post before seeing the card I thought – black card stock with blackberry bliss? This is going to be a dark and dreary card. Then – whoa la – this amazingly beautiful card appeared before my eyes as surprising as a rabbit out of a top hat! I just love it, you did a fantastic job.
I understand the feeling unappreciated at work bit. When I used to feel that way I’d look at my watch, allow myself 5 or 10 minutes to have a “pity party” and then forget about it. Life is to short for negativity and really, it just saps too much energy. On top of that you don’t need to waste time worrying about it, you have the convention coming up and way too much to look forward to. By the way, when do you leave for Utah?
Good evening Grace! Thank you very much my friend! I thought it might make a nice fall wedding invitation too! Yeah! I love that you read the description and imagine what the card is, the best is when I can surprise you!
I was just feeling a bit under appreciated and then I come here and read my comments and all is right with the world again! You are right, I will limit myself to a 5-10 minute “pity party” and then move on. I have way too much to be happy about! I leave for Utah Tuesday night, my flight is at 8:30. 🙂
A happy hello to you too! Your card is gorgeous…
Be glad you are not in the teaching business in public school! Talk about unappreciation! Wow, wow, wow…
I’m glad your move is over. I would rather have a tooth filled. You are too happy a person to dwell on any negativity. Just think — you will be at Convention soon! What fun! Bring home lots of good stuff!
Love ya,
Nancy B
Thank you so very much Nancy! I know how under appreciated teachers are, I don’t envy them. I am with you about the rather have a tooth filled than move but I feel settled for the most part and that feels good! I will bring home tons of good stuff and keep you all updated while I’m there! 🙂
LOL I am a nurse, I don’t think I’m ever appreciated, LOL thats not true, I’ve had some wonderful patients, but others and doctors. OMG!
Seriously, I am so blessed to be a nurse, I would never pick a different career.
Anyways… WOW!!!!! Love, love love this. AWESOME, next to Blue Lagoon Blackberry Bliss is my second favorite color. This card has everything going for it.
Without you Linda the doctors would be nothing! You are the ones who provide the care! I’ll bet that you are a wonderful nurse too! Thank you! I do love Blackberry Bliss too! 🙂
I bet if those mean people stamped they’d be happier! If they don’t appreciate having you around, it’s their loss, ya’ know? You know we do! I’m so impressed that with your busy life you ALWAYS post amazing cards to inspire us. This example you posted today is elegant: it’s great the way the stamped flower reflects the image on the DSP, and these dark colors are rich and luscious! Wonderful!
I think the same thing Georgie! I’m a much happier person because I stamp! It keeps me centered! I know what you mean! I need a new job ASAP! LOL! I do know that you do, that’s why you guys are so important to me! You guys keep me going with your comments and fun! Don’t underestimate how much you inspire me! I love the word luscious! It’s my officially my word of the day! Have a super day my friend! 🙂
Wow Justin!
I am speechless! This is stunning, really stunning! I love that the stamp matches the paper perfectly! I also love the marker line you did. Excellent card Justin!
So sorry that you feel unappreciate at work. You know how much we appreciate you! You put in an incredible amount of work into this blog and I am grateful for that. You always brighten my days!
Donna
Yeah!! Thank you very much Donna! I think it’s looks very regal! I love that marker line, I told you that I would use it a lot! To be honest, I don’t even really care most of the time about work, it just bothered me the other day more than usual. You have to know that whenever I hit a slump I just come here and read the comments. They put a huge smile on face immediately! I too appreciate you, more than you know! 🙂
Sooooo pretty, Justin! Another winner! You really know how to tie your elements together. The circles in the background, in the tag, in the scallops . . . . The flowers that are the focal point match the flowers in the DSP . . . . The gold mat and the gold scallop edging . . . . Wonderful!!!
Yeah! Thanks El! I have fun sitting there and playing with all of the different possibilities! 🙂
