Freshly Made Sketches 152

That was a busy Wednesday! Work was back to crazy, just like I like it… NOT! After work was nice though. I met Heather and we went to Chili’s for dinner. I haven’t been there since the Polar Vortex! We had the 2 for $35 dinner and margarita special. It also came with dessert and we had the peanut butter skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle! YUM! After dinner we went to Lowes to get Heather a new lock for her front door. We laughed about silly things while I installed it. It’s one of those with a keypad and the instructions aren’t very helpful but we finally got it working. I came home, had some coffee and made my card for today. A nice end to a busy day!

Speaking of my card it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and here is the sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches #152

Very simple, I like that sometimes! For my card I started with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and my background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My strip across the lower portion of the card is Smoky Slate that I punched with the Confetti Stars Border Punch. I used the Stars Framelits to cut out a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and then pierced around the edge with the Eclectic Paper-Piercing Pack. My greeting is from the Hello There Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Smoky Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Starburst Framelits are used to cut it out and it and the star are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Simple but sweet! LOL! I like the way the Silver Foil plays off of the Smoky Slate and with all of the stars goodies we have now it’s so easy to make a fun card!   1. Really nice card! Looks like one that Heather should give you for installing that lock! Sounds like a fun evening. I just told my daughter that for a short week, it sure is feeling like a long one! Enjoy your day!

    1. Thank you Stephanie! LOL! Yes, she should definitely give me something for installing the lock! It was a fun evening and sort of spur of the moment which is always good! Yes, I hate to agree with you but it does fee rather long. Almost there! 🙂

  2. How did I miss that star embossing folder? I got my star bundle yesterday but didn’t get time to play yet. It certainly has a lot of pieces with the set. Love how the whole “stary” card came together, one I would like to CASE for my nephew’s band concert, of course, with a different sentiment. Great card.

    1. I don’t know Nancy! But I will tell you that I missed that we have a 2″ Circle Punch now! Did you know that?! You are not alone my friend! You are going to love the star goodies, I sure am! Stars are good for much but yes, it would be perfect for a band concert letting your nephew know that he is the star! Thanks!! 🙂

  5. Hello Justin! Beautiful card today! I love it! I love all the stars and the silver foil with the smoky slate and blackberry bliss is just perfect!! I’m lovin the milk bottle too! You really do a nice job with your photos! Sounds like a fabulous dinner last night…especially your dessert! I’m all about the dessert!       Thanks very much! I am big star fan and am glad that we have so much to choose from now! The colors are fun, muted but they pop a little too if that makes any sense?! I have some other props that I have gotten and some more that I want. I feel it adds a little more interest than just the plain old boring white background and I’m happy that you are liking it! Dinner was great and the company fantastic! I would love to be able to be a photographer or full time crafty person, maybe one day! Thanks again! Hope your day was good! 🙂

    1. LOLOL! Sorry, I should have said in today’s picture! The milk bottles are quite popular right now, I love them! I think I’m going to paint the inside of a few with our colors! Chilis was great food and fun, the dessert was definitely a keeper! Enjoy your evening! 🙂
