Just because I like to keep things as exciting as possible I started this post on the plane. Wouldn’t you know that they had free in flight wi-fi on my jetBlue flight! Pretty neat, we all know how I like to be connected at all times! LOL! Speaking of the plane, here it is!
Apparently I got out of NY just in time, they are supposed to have a major snow storm Monday night into Tuesday morning. They say up to 18 inches. They can have all the snow that they want while I’m away, in fact get it all out of the way before I get back!!
I ‘m lucky enough to have been invited to stay with my friend Germaine and her husband Mike In Rotunda West. They have a lovely house in a beautiful area. Dinner was delicious and we had home made bread pudding for dessert! Here is her cute fluffy cat Ginger…
She looks a little bored with the fact that I was taking her picture!
It’s Monday and following along with our regularly scheduled programming I have my Paper Players card for this week’s sketch challenge…
I really love that Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper, especially since I’m such a fan of inked backgrounds, it’s perfect for them. I would however like a whole stack of the stars pattern please! The base for my card today is Blackberry Bliss Card Stock. My background is created with a piece of the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper and Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy Ink applied with the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. You could easily do this technique with Sponge Daubers, I just like the handle on the tool. Across the bottom of the background is a piece of Vellum Card Stock to go along with the sketch. My circle is a piece of Night of Navy and all of the little circles are cut out using the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Circles Die. I then cut that out with the Circles Collection Framelits and backed it with a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. The enjoy is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and is cut out from Whisper White and adhered with little pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love that Irresistibly Yours DSP inked with the Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy for a cool night sky! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. Thank you for coming by today to visit! Have a wonderful Monday!! 🙂

Lovely card. The background is Amazing.
Thank you Crystal! I love the inked backgrounds and that DSP makes them so easy! 🙂
very pretty card i love the colors you used. My daughter had to go to Buffalo yesterday until Wednesday for work. I am worried about her and all the snow. We live in NE Ohio and get snow but not like Buffalo!
Thank you MaryJo! I’m not sure how bad they got it upstate. I know that Long Island got about 30 inches. I’m sure that your daughter will be just fine! 🙂
Hi Justin! You made it out in the nick of time! Watching the Today show and boy, you are gonna get bombarded with snow! That will make your FL trip even more enjoyable! 😉 Hope everyone stays safe. We are only getting about an inch or two today. Your card is awesome Justin! I love the way you colored that paper! And those dies are to die for…yeah, no pun intended but you just keep tempting us…Enjoy the warmth and sunshine…looking forward to your pics! Have a wonderful day!
Hello Karen! Yes I did and I am having a wonderful time! They got a lot of snow and I’m very happy that I missed it! Glad that you like the card! I love that inked Night of Navy with Blackberry Bliss! LOL! Yes, I am guilty of being a bad influence! I am loving every minute in Florida! 🙂
Have a wonderful vacation!
Thank you Wendie! 🙂
Hi Justin – you really missed the bullet. We are supposed to get 27″-30″ out of this Nor’Easter which they are now categorizing as a blizzard because we can expect sustained winds up to 60 mph. In this area we all know that means power outages. I hope not because I really get antsy when I can’t read your blog and Brian’s blog.
I hope SU realizes what a gem they have in that DSP and offer it in packs where each pack is a different design. Why don’t you put a little bug in their ear about it? Maybe if they find out how much everyone wants that, they will put it in their lineup in the next new caddy. I mean look how fabulous that paper makes your card look. The best thing is that you can make it any colors you want to match whatever design you have decided on. I sure hope they don’t miss the boat on this one.
I would very much like for you to bring me back Ginger. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw the photo! I promise I will give her the best kitty home EVER. I give you my permission to laugh at us all while we are shoveling and you are in a swimming pool somewhere in Florida. Have enough fun for all of us my friend. Hugs 🙂 XO
Hello Grace!
Yes, I did!! I guess that makes up for the 22 hour trip to Utah! LOL! I hope that your power stayed on! I can’t stand it when the power goes out!
I’m sure that they know how great that DSP is! I don’t think that I can influence them into selling packs of individual sheets! That would be pretty impressive! LOL! I hope that they do carry at least some of the prints over into a new pack for the next catty!
I think that Germaine would miss the cat! She was very friendly and a nice little companion! I won’t laugh but I’m so happy that I’m not up there! Hope that you faired ok! Hugs to you! XOXO 🙂
Where do I start????? I love your card and the colors, I really like that punch you used on the circle putting all the little holes in it. Okay, next, glad you got out of there before the weather hit. I am hoping that this weather won’t cause any delays for me. I am changing planes in Denver and last year because of weather back east my flight crew didn’t make it to Denver at all. I just hope that doesn’t happen again. I don’t want to miss any part of Leadership. I do hope that I will get to “meet” you once again. It’s always fun seeing people when you follow their blogs.
Thank you very much Sandy! I too am very happy that I got out of NY! That doesn’t usually happen! LOL! I hope that your flight worked out ok!! I hope to see you too! Make sure that you find me!! 🙂
Yes, it looks beautiful. I like the stars with the circles and just enough shine.
ENJOY your vacation too.
🙂
Thank you so much Nancy! I am having the best time! 🙂
Hi Justin,
Wow! I love this card! Absolutely, love everything! It’s awesome how you think! You just never cease to amaze me! Your work is brilliant.

You have all the fun and enjoyment you can. You so deserve it. You brighten many lives around this world. Now it’s time to take care of yourself and relax for the week. However, we all know that won’t be happening anytime soon.
We’ll, it’s been nice chatting with you. Have a great time. Take care! Hugs! 🙂 Donna

Hey Justin, what a beautiful card! The background looks like a night sky with all those stars, and I love that enjoy word too 🙂 Ginger looks like she has made herself at home – very cute!! I have seen the news and the weather you have escaped, you couldn’t have timed this holiday any better – good job! Enjoy the sun and the ‘not being at work’! Cheers Justin 😀 xxx
