Can You Case It #67 – The Mother’s Day Edition!

I can’t believe that it’s Sunday already! Slow down weekend, please! LOL! The weather here started out at 36 degrees but made it up into the high 50’s and it was sunny so that was nice! I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning while I Skyped with Eva and made a card or two. Daniel was over at my parents so I went and spent some time with the little guy. We shared some cheese and a Hershey Kiss, shh… don’t tell mum! LOL! Around 1:00pm I had a hankering for a drive so I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte and had lunch with Angie and Renee. We had some Panera and I hung out there for a while and chatted with the peeps that were doing the crop there. Scrapbookers are hard core! Those ladies are there from 8:00am until 10:00pm!! Whoa! After, I came home and relaxed, and that was nice!

Sunday’s are Can You Case It days and I’m pleased to introduce you to my last two team members! They have been on the team for a while but I have claimed them for my own! LOL!

So there you now have met my entire Design Team! I’m very happy to get to work with so many talented people!

Now we are on to this week’s challenge, an early Mother’s day one…

CYCI #67

I got a fun new die from Simon Says Stamp and just had give it a test run! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is some of the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper. I took a piece of Blushing Bride and used the Simon Says Stamp Umbrella Shaker Die to cut the window out. Some Window Sheet is adhered to the back and Foam Tape surrounds the edges. The frame and handle are also cut out with the die from Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy, they are adhered with some Multi-Purpose Glue. I filled the shaker portion with sequins and seed beads and adhered the panel to the card. Some More sequins are scattered across the card. My greeting is cut from Lost Lagoon using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Die and also adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. I love that you can see the DSP through the umbrella!   8. I would love to receive a card like this on Mother’s Day Justin so I know your Mum is going to love it too. I’m glad to see you mixed the beads with the sequins because I think they are easier to “shake” and the static doesn’t make them cling to the window sheets. Nice, bright, springy colors too and a very happy card for a very happy celebratory day. My girls have told me they are planning a “minion” Mother’s Day celebration for me this year. I won’t see them until the week after the “official” Mother’s Day but that’s fine. This should be an interesting experience – they always cook up something fun. LOL

    I hope the weather today allows for a ride with the top down. It’s too dreary and cool here today to get to enjoy that. You keep playing with your new watch and discovering all it’s mysteries. Have yourself a Spectacular Sunday my friend. Love and hugs – XOXOXO:)

    1. Thank you very much Grace! I made another Mother’s Day card today, she might get that one instead! I love the sound the beads make when you shake the card! But you are right, they do help the sequins move about! I think that Mother’s Day is actually every day!! Sounds like you will have a lovely time with your wonderful daughters!
      The weather today was good but I ran errands with Heather and we took her car. It really wasn’t top down warm today! We had sun but it was only in the 50’s again. I am really loving my watch and got to pay for some stuff with it today much to the surprise of the cashiers! LOL! I hope that you had a nice day my friend! XOXOXOXOXO 🙂

  11. Hey Justin, what a beautiful shaker card, and such pretty colours! I also love yesterday’s card with the typeset paper – that could be one of my favourite of your cards ever! How exciting that you got your watch!! Excuse my ignorance, but do you actually make calls and SMS with it? And are those your initials on it? Pretty fancy. I have never used Siri, what do you ‘use’ her for? Hope the rest of your Sunday was relaxing, Monday morning here again – I’m sure they are more frequent than Friday nights, lol!       Thank you so much! I’m so happy that you enjoyed both of the cards! I am really enjoying my watch! You can make calls, send texts and pay for things with it! Yup, those are my initials! You use Siri to interact with the watch, you can open apps, get directions, send texts and do pretty much anything that you can do on the iPhone! Ha! I was just thinking that it always feels like there are more Monday’s! He he! I hope that you have a good one! XOXO 🙂

    Justin, this card is AWESOME!! I love the flowers behind the shaker umbrella!! April showers bring May flowers right?! So your card is raining flowers and love 😉 I appreciate the tip for adding seed beads to the sequins for better “shake” and less cling.

  16. Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!? This is SO nice! I love shaker cards, but what a super great idea to use the umbrella!
    Love the colors and a great use of the soon to be retired All Abloom paper. It’s all around perfect Justin! I’m sure whoever gets this card, will be grinning from ear to ear! Hugs!
