Oh yes!! It’s Friday!! I do loves me some Friday! Yesterday was a nice day, it was 55 degrees and sunny! Today rain and 60 but that’s just fine! I went to Scrap-A-Latte straight from work last night to see Renee and Angie was there too! I picked out the paper for this month’s card class and we chatted about all things store related. We also got a special treat, some FaceTime with Michael! LOL! I showed him around the store and he asked to get off the ride! Renee looked at me at 7:00 and said do you still have keys… good, I’m leaving! I ended up finishing up with Michael at 7:30 and locked up and headed home. I had a meatloaf sandwich for dinner and then came to the houseย and Skyped with Eva for a bit. Pretty great Thursday!
Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…
So, funny story about the card. I was talking to Eva on Wednesday night and told her the colors for the challenge. She said oh, do something watercolor. I said no, that takes a while and I want to do a quick card. Well, it was not a quick card by any means! LOL! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. My panel is a piece of So Saffron with a piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is from the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set and is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede Ink to watercolor the image and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. It’s adhered to the woodgrain panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Soft Sky. I really do love the Cherry Blossom stamp, especially watercolored and cutting it out really makes it the focal point of the card. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Fab Friday color challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the other Designer’s cards and make one to enter in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me today! Have a Fabulous Friday! ๐

Love love love this card! Love the image too. SU needs a die for this. Glad you caught up with Michael. He sounds like a cool guy. ๐
Thank you so much Michael! Yes, I agree there needs to be a die for this set! Oh Dies by Dave! LOL! Yes, Michael is a good looking , funny, smart and kind guy, I think that you would get along with him really well! Wait…
Gorgeous! I agree with Michael Trent, it would great for Stampin’ Up! to have a die for this stamp set. If not, maybe Dies by Dave?? Love your card!
Thank you Tina!! Yes! I immediately thought about Dies by Dave when I was fussy cutting that out! Great minds! ๐
Absolutely gorgeous, Justin. Love your watercoloring. And to answer your question, I do believe these are intended to be cherry blossoms.
Thank you so much Sandy! Phew! Glad that I got the flower correct! ๐
Really beautiful.
Thank you Germaine! ๐
Beautiful!!!
Thanks MaryJo! Have a nice day! ๐
Justin,
This is such a pretty card. The colors are perfect for an Easter card. Love the added texture of the embossing folder.
Hi Gerri!
Thank you! I do love a little woodgrain! ๐
Hi Justin:
Exceptionally beautiful card today. I think the brilliance of this one is your wood grained textured piece of cardstock in back of the flowers. Of course the flowers are the central image that catches your eye by the wood grained panel is what brings it to the forefront. This card is magnificent and anyone would be absolutely thrilled to receive it.
Today is housework day here so it’s not my favorite day of the week although when I was working Friday always was my favorite. The hubs says he swears we are starting to have three Friday’s a week because he can’t believe an entire week goes by between cleanings. I used to laugh at him but now I’m starting to feel the same. LOL But hey, you do what you gotta’ do right?
No big plans for Easter. I think it will be a quiet day here which is good. That will provide some quiet time to truly think about the reasons for this particular holiday. Enjoy the day Justin, I’m still coming in by the back door. LOL Hugs XO ๐
Hello Grace!
Thank you so much! I really do love woodgrain with florals! I think that it goes so well with them!
I need to do some housework here! My apartment looks like a bomb went off in it! I have to make an effort to get to that this weekend! Ha ! We’ll see how that goes!
I will be at my parent’s for Easter. My brother, his wife and Daniel will be there and Taylor too. I hope that you enjoy your quiet Easter! I can’t believe that you are still having issues! Brian and I were talking about that yesterday. Have to look into that too! Hugs to you my friend! XOXO ๐
Good Morning Justin- wow that is a lot of fussy cutting! Gorgeous card- I can see why it took you a long time but the card is worth it.
I have seen the cherry blossoms in Japan and Washington D.C.- they are glorious!
Hi Marty!
LOL! Thank you! Yes, lots of fussy cutting! Wish there was a die for that! Oh Dave! I would love to see the cherry blossoms in Japan, I’ll bet they are breathtaking! ๐
Your execution of the color palette is so soothing! Beautiful composition.
Hello Michael!
Our cherry trees line our private drive coming up to the bend in the road before you get to the 6 houses up here. The trees are budding out, but the rain has been pelting us for two straight days with lightning and thunder at times. Even puppy Pi, who loves the outdoors, has been sitting in the open garage doorway, just looking out. Ah, Spring!
I had my stitches out on Wednesday! Yay! Now I have to massage the tender palm twice a day with lotion that has vitamin E in it. Talk about soothing…
I’m typing two-handed but it’s still slow. A might better than it was!
Happy Easter, Everyone! I hope the Easter bunny is good to you and Daniel, Justin. With love, Nancy B
Thank you Nancy!
I hope that the rain doesn’t ruin the trees! When they open you should send in a picture so I can share them with everyone!
I’m glad that you are on the mend! Yes, I’ll bet that is soothing and very necessary!
You will be back to your old self in no time!
Happy Easter to you and your family! Loads of love back to you! ๐
Happy Friday Justin! Your card is gorgeous! You truly are the master of fussy-cutting! So soft and pretty, just love it! How fun to be “trapped” ๐ in a scrapbook store by yourself!! Have a great rest of your day!
It was a happy Friday, maybe a little too happy! LOL! I’m behind! Thank you! Oddly I really do enjoy fussy cutting! The end result makes it well worth it! It was definitely fun to be trapped there in the store! Hope you had a good Friday! ๐
So, so pretty! May I say what first popped into my mind?? “Gramma would love this…it’s just her style!” ๐ That’s not to say I think this is for “old” people…just that it has the ring of vintage beauty about it. LUV it! A brilliant use of the woodgrain embossing folder, too. Nice job Justin!
Thank you Colleen! Yes, my grandmother would have loved this card too! She absolutely adored flowers of any kind! ๐
This is beautiful, love the color choices in ths challenge, works well with this stamp. OMG you fusy cut this! You are good, I DETEST, LOL fussy cutting. Never like how it looks.
YES! Friday, have a great weekend
Thank you very much Linda! As soon as I saw the colors I thought flowers! Yes, I LOVE to fussy cut and it’s all my friend Sandy’s fault! I used to hate it! Hope that you will have a great weekend! ๐
What a gorgeous card Justin! It does have a vintage vibe and yet a little uptown flair with the woodgrain panel off set with the So Saffron behind the cherry blossom branch. Yes, put in a request to Dave!! Let me know what happens ๐
I went shopping last night….Got lots of….sequins!! ๐ Mostly Pretty Pink Posh colors, then a few Hazel and Ruby, and an assortment package of Doodlebug. I am officially entering “The Sequin Zone” (*echo, echo – lol!) I can’t wait until they get here!
Thank you Jill! It definitely does have a vintage fell to it! I really do love that stamp! I think that if it gets carried over to the new catalog he might do one?!
YAY! I LOVE sequins as you know and you got all of the best ones! Welcome to the sequin zone!!!! LOL! ๐
Very pretty card!! Great job on the fussy cutting!! I’m not good at fussy cutting!! I always have uneven borders. ๐ Framelits are my favorite!!
Thanks so much Brenda! I do enjoy fussy cutting! ๐
*So* pretty, Justin! Great composition and balance. The embossed woodgrain adds nice texture, and the So Saffron mat sets off the woodgrain background nicely. Love this design!!!
Thank you El! Love the woodgrain! ๐
