Paper Players 253

Yay! It’s Wednesday! I always love when we start the wind down into the weekend! Yesterday it was overcast and rained a little but was really humid all day. After the fun filled day at work was done I stopped by my parents to see little Daniel. We played with an old camera and took turns taking pictures of each other. Once he found out how to open the film door that had to be done each time too! He’s so funny. Michael came by around 5:00 and he and I both worked on some projects for a bit before heading out to dinner at Villa Montie. They have the best pizza I think I have ever had and Michael agreed! After that we went to the Broadway Mall to see Jurassic World. It was a really good movie with some amazing special effects! I have decided that I would like my own Velociraptor! LOL! What a fun backyard pet that would make! I also ran into one of my co-workers Mary. Love her!

I have a quick card for you today and it’s for this week’s Paper Players color challenge…

Paper Players #253

Love those colors!! I saw Jennifer McGuire stamp with White Pigment Ink and then stamp over it with regular ink and have wanted to give it a try, this color combo seemed perfect for that! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped my greeting from the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set in Smoky Slate. My panel is a piece of Sahara Sand, I stamped the flowers in Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink and then again in Sahara Sand on top of the white. The leaves are then stamped in Mint Macaroon, they are both from the Simon Says Stamp with W Plus 9 Many Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I backed it with a piece of Mint Macaroon and then adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A very simple card but I love the look of the flowers, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge! I always appreciate you stopping by so thanks and have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Ooooh…… Aaaaah……. I love this card…… cool stamping technique, clean design, and the neutral colors all really work for me!

  2. Beautiful Roses! That sounds like a great technique. I wonder if Sandy would try that one. Does the white take a long time to dry? Love the colors too.
    🙂

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! It’s a really fun technique! We’ll have to ask her!! I hit it with the heat gun and it sped everything up! 🙂

  3. Just gorgeous, Justin! Great use of the colors, I like how you stamped over the white craft ink. Love the new stamp set, too!

    1. Thanks very much Sandy! The technique is fun and I love the look! The stamp set is cool! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin,
The card is Beautiful!! I love the muted effect the sahara has when stamped over the white. I have to try this technique.
I’m going to the movies with my niece to see ‘Minions’ this afternoon. She’s a teacher and is off for the summer. I love Minions.

    1. Hey Gerri!
Thanks so much! I love the technique, it’s so soft and pretty!
Oh! The Minions movie looks like fun! Who doesn’t love the Minions?!?! I would like one of them too! 🙂

  5. Good Morning Justin:
So, you are back to your super duper busy self eh? LOL I would like to try that stamp on stamp technique. I think it looks really nice and I’m wondering if that technique would work as easily with color combinations like perhaps a red and a pink. Hmmmm, certainly would be worth a try! Thanks for passing that on.

LIke Gerri, I”m loving the Minions. My two daughters are coming up on Friday from CT so that we can attend the Barnes and Noble Minions night together. Then Saturday night we’ll go see the Minions movie. If it’s half as good as the Despicable Me movies were, we should have a great time.

Glad you’re having a Happy Hump day. Hopefully it will go quickly for you and you will be back at the weekend before you even know it. Have yourself a Happy Hump Day! Hugs from Maine! 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
YES! I missed being busy! LOL! The technique is cool and nice and easy especially with Photopolymer stamps! You’ll have to let me know how it goes with red and pink!
The Minions are the best! A Minions night sounds like lots of fun! I have heard that the movie is fantastic!
Thanks! The week is turning out much better than I thought it would! I hope that you had a good Wednesday too! Love you my friend! XOXOXO 🙂

  6. Love this card. But I told you that yesterday. LOL. Not colors I would ever think to use together but they actually play together nicely.

    1. Thanks very much Michael! Yes, you did tell me that! Thanks for your input too! Not colors I would normally put together either but I do like them too! 🙂

  7. Cool technique, love the look, especially with these colors. YES, Jurassic world was AWESOME, I want T-Rex, shes is so cool, and saved the day! Sorry, Chicago has the BEST pizza hands down LOL

    1. Thanks Linda! Yes, I thought that the colors would work well with the technique! The T-Rex is really cool but a big big for the yard! LOL! I have had Chicago pizza and it is very good but I have to say that NY pizza is pretty awesome too! 🙂

  8. Love these bold blooms and that awesome sentiment, Justin! I don’t know how you find time to stamp with your busy schedule, though!!! So glad you were able to squeeze in some stamping time and share this with us at the Players!

    1. Thank you so much LeAnne! It’s a cool and fun little set! Stamping is my therapy!! Although I’m thoroughly enjoying my wonderful summer! Love playing with you guys! Have a fun week! 🙂
