SIP Challenge 8 – Designer’s Choice!

I’m not even going to go into detail about my Monday. It was a typical Monday though, so you can imagine! LOL! When I got home last night I made a few cards and then headed over to Sandy’s house for Card Class. It’s been a while since we have done one of those and it was great to see everyone again! Michael and Sue joined in the fun too! After that I came home and finished up a few things before calling it a night. How was your Monday?

So, today is Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are giving you free reign again with another Designer’s Choice…

SIP Any Challenge 8

It so nice to just get to sit down and make a card without any rules isn’t it?! My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the flower form the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Crumb Cake. The image is colored in with some Prismacolor Colored Pencils, just a few shades of yellow and green. I tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Rustic Jute Button Twine around the panel and then adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed again in Hero Arts White on a piece of Hello Honey and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix and Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered around the flower and complete the card. I love the way colored pencils look on Crumb Cake, it really makes the image pop! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Designer’s Choice challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and we hope that we will see your creation in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! I wish you a terrific Tuesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Love the yellows! The pencil coloring is very nice, blends very good. I have this set, (from Susan Itell’s Stamp of the Month Club) but have not inked it up yet. Glad your Monday is over. Hump Day is not far away.

    1. Thank you Nancy! I was going to do red but I’m glad that I choose yellow! I have used the stamp a lot, it’s a great image to color in! I’ll be glad when it’s Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. The yellow are the right touch. The colored pencils are so vibrant. What a cheerful, pretty card. I hope your Tuesday is a whole lot better! Maybe you have a real medical allergy to Mondays! Get that checked out. Maybe you can just start work on Tuesday every week. Take care! Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! I do love using colored pencils, and the Prismacolor ones are great! Ha! I think that you may be right about me being allergic to Monday! Can I get a doctor’s note for that?! LOL! Hope you had a good day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Justin, Another beautiful card. I like colored pencils too, so it’s nice to see how pretty they look on crumb cake. Thanks for sharing. (BTW, I’m in IT too; making cards is such a great stress-reliever after a “techy” day.)

    1. Thanks so much Sheila! I do love the pencils on a darker card stock! I can’t wait to get home and make a card! You are right, it’s a great stress reliever! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Good Morning Justin:

You did a fantastic job blending the yellows on the flower. Before reading your explanation I actually thought the flower was heat embossed on vellum. I never think to do I’m Here For You cards but that would be a great thing to have on hand for when a friend is going through hard times. I also like the fact that you left some “white” space which really put the emphasis on the reason for the card. Fabulous!

Monday is in the past so today I’m wishing a Terrific Tuesday for you. Time goes much to quickly to be wishing it away. You won’t realize that until you are older but take it from an old lady, enjoy each day as each day is truly a blessing whether it’s good, bad or indifferent. You have yourself a Tantalizing Tuesday and enjoy every minute of it. Luv and hugs, XO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I like the sentiment, it’s a little more general and who couldn’t use a card that just say that?!
You are right about wishing the week away, I actually would like the month of August to stay. I do enjoy each day and all of the time that I get to spend with the people that I love! So much happens every day, I just like to take it all in. I hope that you had a good Monday and that you will have a terrific Tuesday too! Love to you! XOXOXO ๐Ÿ™‚
