It was another overcast day here until around 5:30 and then the sun came out. We are to have another rainy day today, I guess it’s making up for all of the nice weather we had over the summer! Last night I took my aunt and uncle out to Jackie Riley’s Pub for a few drinks and we met up with Brian. I’m not one to go out to a bar but we had a really nice time! I even ran into my friend Victoria, always nice to see her! A pretty good night for a Wednesday!
Before I headedΒ out last night I made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
A simple shaker card, well about as simple as a shaker card can get, and something nice and bright too! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I cut out the negative circle with the Circles Collection Framelits. I used the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle and Circle Loops dies to cut out some Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Real Red. The Happy Birthday is adhered around the negative circle with 2-Way Glue along with the rest of the die cuts. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the panel. Another circle is cut from a piece of 1/4″ Fun Foam and that is then adhered to the back of the panel with SNAIL. Some confetti that I got from Party City is added and the panel is then adhered to the card with some more SNAIL. Like I said, as simple as a shaker card can get and nice and bright! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a terrific Thursday! π

Hey Gerri!
Thank you! I love the Simon dies, so much fun! Have a super day! π
I missed a day, but loved your card yesterday about butterflies in my stomach. I recognized GM in Massapequa. Delish, I agree. Today’s card is fabulous. Those dies are to die for.
π
Thank you Nancy! Love using Journaling Cards! Yes, GM is great! Glad you enjoyed today’s card too! Stay dry! π
Cute card, Justin. I love the circle birthday with the balloons inside and the cupcake. Cute, fun and bright! Great card.
Thanks HJ! We all need a fun birthday card, right?! Hope you had a good day! π
Hi, Justin! The dust has finally settled on September’s busy schedule, and it’s starting to look like October is filling up too. No rest for the weary! Your last several cards have been simple but effective. I really love today’s card. It looks so easy and your balloon confetti is a terrific idea! When I am out that way Tuesday, you have motivated me to make a stop at Party City and look at all the confetti to use for my upcoming cards! I did get the Memory Keeper woven embossing folder you used one day, and it came with another one that looks like a woven basket pattern — a two-fer! You cost me money again! Of course, you are worth it…have a great Thursday! Nancy B
Hello Nancy!
I know what you mean! I would rather be busy, make you feel more alive! I’m happy to hear that you have been enjoying the cards! Today’s is definitely the easiest shaker I have made and the colors just make it fun! I never thought about Party City and I was in there for something else and just happened to see it! Love the 3D Embossing Folders! Don’t forget, I cost me money all the time! LOL! Hugs my friend! XOXO π
Love it!
Thanks Colleen! π
Hi Justin:
Just playing catch up. Loved your family photo in yesterdays post. How Blessed you are!
Love today’s card and those Simon Says Dies are fabulous with a capital F. Just a fun and happy Happy Birthday card. I think the white space on the card really brought the colors to carry the joy intended on the card. Fantastic!
Crazy busy here. Terrible weather here yesterday with lots of power outages and street flooding. Our area received 6.8 inches of rain. We needed rain but that was a bit much. Still trying to get the fall cleaning finished before I leave on the 15th. Also making lots of soups and cookies for the freezer. Can’t make my 6 apple pies until I get back.
Gotta fun but I hope you had a terrific Thursday and wishing you a Fantastic Friday. Luv and hugs – XO π
That would be gotta run – see what happens when I rush? LOL
LOL! He he! I like gotta fun better Grace! π
