Another fun day in Manhattan with Barbara and Anna at The Ink Pad! It was a pretty busy day too! I made a little sample using Tim Holtz Christmas Minis Stamps and some Distress Inks with a watercolor brush. I got a nice close parking space to the store, after driving around for about 20 minutes! AfterΒ we closed I gave Barbara a ride up to her brother’s and then took the Triboro Bridge to get out of the city. The traffic wasn’t too bad and I was home by 8:30. I had a quick sandwich and made my card for today. After that I was exhausted and went to bed! Today I’m off to see The Hunger Games – Mocking Jay Part 2 with Andrew and Brian! Oh, my parents got a little Christmas tree that lights up and turns with a train that goes around the bottom the other day and Daniel loved it! Can’t you tell from the huge smile on his face?!
My card for today uses a new set that I picked up from Hero Arts. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb for the front and then used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out a window. A piece of Soft Sky serves as my background and I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste on it to create the snow. Next up I took the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies and cut another piece of Solar White 80lb using just the die without the stitching and layered them on top of one another and adhered them over the background. All of my images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the trees in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf, the deer in Hero Arts Wet Cement and the house in Hero Arts Cup O Joe. They are all cut out with the matching Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with either SNAIL of Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue with the Hero Arts Happy, Happy Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and the the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the little scene in the cut out and the soft colors. The greeting is also neat because in England it’s Happy not Merry Christmas! I hope that you enjoyed my fun winter scene card for today! Thank you so much for visiting and I wish you all a superb Sunday! π

Justin,
Daniel couldn’t be cuter!! Love that tree! I want one.
Your card is lovely.
Hi Gerri!
He is a happy little guy! The tree is fun! Thank you! Glad that you like the card! π
Love your card and it gave me a great idea for a card that I’m going to make for my son with a moose punch that I just dug out. Daniel is so cute – your photo catches the wonderment of Christmas. Enjoy!
Thank you very much Wendie! It’s so great to see how happy a little thing like a tree can make Daniel smile! His wonderment is infectious! π
Good Morning Justin –
I see a little mischief in Daniel’s eyes. Is he waiting for everyone to turn around so he can actually touch that train? LOL It wouldn’t surprise me because he is at that really curious age. He is going to make Christmas so much fun for the entire family this year. Kids are an excuse for adults to play with toys once a year and it’s oh so much fun!
Your card is just beautiful and I love little miniature scenes. This was a great card to use the hills without the stitched lines and also to use paste to get the snowflakes in. I just love it and you really don’t have to wait until Christmas to send it to me. π
You have yourself a Super Sunday and a Terrific Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be grateful for. Love and Hugs to you my friend, XO
Hi Grace!
Yes, Daniel always has a little hint of mischief and you never know when it will come out! He was waiting to touch the train! LOL! Christmas is always better with little ones!!
Thank you! I do love that stamp set, so many little fun elements! I haven’t used embossing paste in a while and it does make for some great snow! LOL! I’ll get it in the mail!
I had a nice day and hope that you enjoyed your Sunday too! Thanksgiving snuck up me! We do have a lot to be grateful for! Love and big hugs to you! XOXO π
Daniel=adorable!
Love this card, even though I HATE snow this scene is gorgeus. Love the soft muted colors. I finally ventured outside today, beautiful sunny and the winds have stopped. I’ll admit the trees are pretty the rest needs to mely quckly. Take care.
P.S. I did copy your gold embossed leaf card, OMG that is so beautiful. I hate to mail it
Thank you so much Linda! He is a cutie! I don’t like snow either but a winter scene does make for a fun card! Hope that your snow goes away soon!
The gold leaf card was fun to make! So glad that you made one too! Someone will appreciate it!! π
Ohhhhh….love this card. Absolutely beautiful. And I love the font on the phrase…on my list. LOL
