Happy Bermuda Hardwood Hello

Hello peeps! I hope that you all had a nice Friday! I got to do my monthly errand of delivering the posters to our other locations at work yesterday! Always a good day for me! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte and met up with Andrew. He spent the day inputting names and email addresses into a spreadsheet and Constant Contact so that’s all done! I tinkered around with the monitor for the computer and got it to work as a touch screen, like it’s supposed to be! When I got home I went into the Stampin’ Galley and got lost in watercoloring. Realized that it was 12:00 and thought, hmm… I’d better get to bed! It’s nice to get so involved in something that you loose track of time every once in a while, wouldn’t you agree?!

One of the things that I watercolored last night even made it to a card! It’s the funky little bird! For the base of today’s card I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of Very Vanilla is stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Crumb Cake and covers the entire card front. The funky little bird is from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Elegant Eggplant and Bermuda Bay for the main colors, the branch is Soft Suede and his beak is Crushed Curry. I mixed in a little water with the colors from my squished Ink Pad lids and just filled him in. I decided that the background looked a little dull against all of his boldness so I used some Soft Sky to fill it in. He is mounted to a piece of Basic Black and adhered to the card with SNAIL. My greeting is actually three pieces of Basic Black that are cut out with the Hello You Thinlits and glued together with Multi-Purpose Glue. I really do love that funky little bird and he looks nice and spring like in his bold colors! The stacked greeting is also neat, I love the dimension that it has! I hope that you enjoyed my simple watercolor card for today! Thanks for checking in with me! I wish you all a super Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 235

Finally Friday! This week has been a long one! Lots of work to do including the move which wasn’t too bad. It was really cold again here today, I think the high was 15! It was my co-worker Cindy’s Birthday today so we all ate lunch together and that’s always nice. I went straight from work to Scrap-A-Latte to relieve Andrew who had been there since 10:00am. We are babysitting the store while Renee is enjoying the warmer weather at CHA in Anaheim, CA! Lucky!! I closed up at 7:00 and stopped by Brian and Kim’s on the way home to catch up with them. I got home around 9:00 and sat down to make my card for today. Happily finished that and then watched a little TV Before heading off to bed. Not a bad Thursday and it’s back to the scrapbook store tonight. Oh, I also edited the background picture on the homepage so you should actually be able to see the Brooklyn Bridge and the new Freedom Tower too! You’ll have to let me know if I was successful! 🙂

Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 235

Today’s card is inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest and it begins with a base of Soft Sky Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack to go down the right side behind my background which is a piece of Soft Sky that I stamp in Soft Sky with the Dictionary Background Stamp. It’s mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Vintage Designer Series Paper, but I not going tell you what it is, lets see if you can guess and leave me a comment just for fun! On top of that is a piece of Pool Party with the left end angled. My greeting is from the Fabulous Four Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Island Indigo. That and the stamp in the upper right are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Speaking of the stamp that’s from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I finished off the card with some Sparkling Clear Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects. A fun simple card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge and I hope that you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me on my favorite day of the week! Have a fabulous Friday Everyone! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 168

To describe the temperature here as cold would be an understatement! It is downright FREEZING! I guess if it wasn’t so windy it wouldn’t be that bad, but it’s pretty darn cold, like minus 10 cold! I was also quite tired yesterday. I made it through the day at work and got a lot done. I stopped by Scrap-A-Latte after work to meet up with Andrew so we could go over any last minute things with Renee and get keys. When I got home and went to my parents little Daniel was there and I chased him around for a bit. Then I came home and took a nice two hour nap! I did feel a lot better after that and was able to sit down and make my card for today.

After a little holiday break the ladies over at Freshly Made Sketches are back with a new sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 168

Very nice and simple! To start off my card I used a base of Daffodil Delight Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with some very strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue to hold it in place. The image is from the Sale-A-Bration A Happy Thing Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color it in. My greeting is from another Sale-A-Bration set, You Brighten My Day, also heat embossed in Gold on Vellum Card Stock and punched out with the Banner Punch. I cut out a piece of Wild Wasabi and Gold Glimmer Paper to put behind it and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. I needed a nice bright happy card on such a chilly day and I think this one fits the bill! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge using some of the new sets from Sale-A-Bration. Thanks very much for taking some time out of your day to check in with me! Here’s to a good Thursday, we all know what tomorrow is!! 🙂

Ahh… the weathermen, they rarely get things right do they?! It was supposed to snow this morning and then turn to rain around noon. Nope, it snowed all day, thankfully we only got about a inch but boy did it get cold! Tomorrow night it’s supposed to get down to around -10 degrees! I was speaking to my friend Andrea who lives in Colorado and she said that she sent it my way. I said thank but you really don’t have to do things like that! LOL! My office move went smoothly and I had most of it done in about 3 hours. There are still little odds and ends left in my old space but I’ll get to them tomorrow. I picked Andrew up from the Airport last night around 1:00am, his flight was delayed by a little over and hour and they had to wait for a gate for a long time. In fact they didn’t even end up at the Delta terminal! Not too bad considering that if someone sneezes on the tarmac at JFK they close the airport! I was quite happy to have him back but I think that he forgot to bring the warmer weather with him! 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS126 Sketch 12-07-2015

Fun and simple! I changed a few things around but I stuck pretty closely to it. The card base for today is Basic Black Card Stock. My background is a piece of Very Vanilla and across that bottom is some First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adhered a piece of Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back and slid a “Vintage” Designer Round Ribbon Slide onto it, I still love those things! My panel is also a piece of Very Vanilla and my image is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped on Memento Tuxedo Black. I backed it with some Basic Black and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The “World’s Greatest” and “Hats Off to You!” are also from the same set and are stamped in Lost Lagoon. The “World’s Greatest” Is cut out with my Paper Snips and the other greeting is flagged on the left. Both are adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched out a piece of Lost Lagoon with the 3/4″ Circle Punch to back another hat from the Guy Greeting Set that I cut out with my Paper Snips and popped that up on a Stampin’ Dimensional too! I love the colors and the nice maculae feel to the card, even with the ribbon! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Well, you will never guess what I get to do this morning?! When I get to work I can finally move my office!! The new one is all set to go and I will start moving my stuff back there as soon as I get into work this morning! Took long enough but will be worth the wait for the door alone! LOL! It got quite chilly here yesterday and we are to have a little snow this morning changing to rain later on. I ran out to Target last night around 9:30 and it was a balmy 22 degrees, that’s way too cold for me! Tonight I get to go and pick Andrew up from the airport! He is coming back from nice warm Florida just in time for the cold snap! He promised to bring the warm weather with him, he’d better! LOL! I’ll be glad to have him back though! 🙂

Oh, today is the day people! You can order form the new 2015 Occasions Catalog! I hope that I have helped you create your lists with my projects for the past month! My craftiness last night yielded my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo379

As soon as I saw the little square I knew that I wanted it to be and teeny envelope and I went from there. The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock and my background is a piece of Smoky Slate. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp in Smoky Slate for a little tone on tone texture. The first and second panels are both pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. The first one is backed with Real Red and the one with the ampersand with Basic Black. I adhered a piece of Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the back and then adhered it all to the card base with a mix of Fast Fuse and SNAIL. My little Vellum envelope is made with the Envelope Punch Board. I cut the Vellum to 3″ x 3″ and punched it at 1 1/2″ all the way around. To cover up the adhesive I punched out a piece of Red Glimmer Paper with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The tag is stamped with the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Note Tag Punch to punch it out and threaded a piece of White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon through the hole that I made with the 1/8″ Circle Punch. Another piece of Red Glimmer Paper is cut out with one of the elements from the Circle Card Thinlits and also adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Three Sequins randomly adhered with Crystal Effects complete the card. I really do love the little envelope pocket for the greeting, it adds a fun little extra don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 226

I had a very nice weekend and hope that the same is true for you! I had a semi-productive day yesterday. Not quite as productive as the rest of the weekend but we all need a little down time right?! I did manage to get some cards made yesterday before I headed out with Heather to do some errands. We went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and the mall so that she could return some stuff. We stopped back at my house so that we could take the old wall unit over to her house. My dad has a truck and boy does that come in handy! After that I came home and puttered around a bit and then watch the end of A Good Day to Die Hard and the beginning of Divergent. Then I decided that It was time to get the rest of my stuff done before trying to get to bed early, ha! Back to work today, maybe I’ll move my office?! Maybe not! LOL!

Before we get to today’s post I wanted to take a minute to remind you that beginning tomorrow you can start ordering from the 2015 Occasions Catalog and also qualify for Sale-A-Bration rewards! Do you have your lists ready?! I’m sure that you do! 🙂

After a little vacation the Paper Players are back with their first challenge of 2015 and it’s a theme from Anne Marie…

Paper Players #226

I went with a recycled and repurposed item on my project. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the entire front is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. On top of that I adhered a piece the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum to a piece of Very Vanilla and that is then adhered to the base. My recycled/repurposed item is the denim banner that I cut out with the Party Pennants Bigz L Die. Some Fast Fuse adheres it to the vellum. My greeting is form the Four You Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Kraft and cut out with a die from the Circle Card Thinlits. I used the Butterfly Thinlits to cut out the butterfly and the Hello You Thinlits for the “you”, both from Kraft. The Butterfly is adhered with Glue Dots and the “you” is adhered with Crystal Effects. I fluffed up the butterfly wings and that completes the card. I do love the look of the denim with the gold and Kraft, it makes for a fun combination don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge! Thank you so much for you time today and I wish you all a Magnificent Monday! 🙂

Watercolor Confetti Ballons Birthday

I had another nice productive day yesterday! I straightened up a bit around the house in the morning and then sat down to make my card for today. My dad came over and helped me install the new panels that I got for the closet. They look so much better than what was there before! I headed over to Heather’s around 4:30 and we went to the supermarket to pick up some stuff for last nights little get together. Everyone arrived around 7:30 and the festivities go underway immediately! There is a beam that runs through Heather’s apartment and I decided that it would be fun to hang from it. You really are never too old to act like a fool!

Ceiling Justin

Didn’t know that I was Spider-Man did you?! LOL! We had a very good time and it was so nice get so many of us together! Here we all are, love the timer feature on the iPhone!

My Peeps and I

From left to right there is Kim, Brian, Heather, Me, Stephanie, Neal, Adam and Erin. Quite the happy bunch aren’t we?! It really was a good time and I can’t wait for us to do it again!

I did have some fun making my card yesterday. I watercolored the background and made quite a mess doing it! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Watercolor Paper, I taped it to a glass mat so it would stay flat. Some Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon Re-Inkers are mixed with water and added to the paper that was brushed over with plain water first. I also flicked the brush over the paper for some added interest. My “confetti” is a mix of Perfect Pearls and water that I painted on randomly. The Heat Tool speeds up the drying and also helps flatten out the paper. I trimmed the piece to fit across the entire card front and used Fast Fuse to adhere it. The balloons are stamped in Versa-Mark on Vellum Card Stock with the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set* and heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The matching Ballon Framelits* are used to cut them out. I tied some White Baker’s Twine around them and adhered them with my 2-Way Glue Pen. I really love the background and the vellum balloons are great because the let you see more of it. I really hope that you enjoyed my card for today and that you are inspired to try some watercoloring! Thank you so much for coming by to see the crazy antics from last night too! I wish you all a really great Sunday! 🙂

Stacked Felt Banner Love

I had another productive day yesterday. I got up nice and early did my morning blog stuff and then ran to IKEA and Lowes. I got Kvartal and panels from IKEA to make a sliding door to cover the closet in the room off the kitchen and then stopped at Lowes to get a cord cover to hide the cords that are draped down the wall by the new wall unit. After my errands I went over to Kim & Brian’s for lunch, we had a few glasses of Cupcake Red Velvet, yum! Then it was off to get a hair cut and I got to see Heather, her appointment was right after mine. As a bonus she brought me a Venti So Vanilla Latte! I stopped home quick and picked up Taylor and we ran out to Scrap-A-Latte so I could give Renee the price gun that I ordered from amazon to her. On the way home I got a really bad headache, I took some Excedrin when I got back to the house and waited about 2 hours before it finally went away. My dad, who Andrew calls Stanley, stopped by and fixed my computer chair, the back had fallen off. I don’t think that it will ever fall off again! I was quite happy with all that I got accomplished! 🙂

When I sat down last night to make my card I had the urge to do something a little different and here is what I came up with. The card starts off with a base of Real Red Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack*. My banner is a piece of red felt and I used the Banners Framelits to cut it out. The holes down either side are cut out one of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits* along with the bow from a piece of black felt. My heart in the middle is cut out with a die from the Circle Card Thinlits. I adhered the banner to the base with some Fast Fuse. Finally, I used the Hello You Thinlits* and some Silver Glimmer Paper to cut out the “you”. Some Multi-Purpose glue adheres the bow and the you to the card. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the dies cut through the felt and I love the texture that it gives the card! Change out the bow for an “I” and this would make a great masculine Valentine too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and are inspired to use some felt on your project! As always, I appreciate your visit and wish you a super Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 234

Well, that was a nice low key day to start off the New Year! I got up a little late but that’s because I didn’t go to bed until 2:00. I finished setting up the wall unit and then sat and enjoyed some TV. I looked over at the Christmas tree and thought, time for you to come down and that’s just what I did. It’s all packed away and ready for next Christmas. I puttered around the house until 1:30 when I decided it was time to get a move on. I took a ride to IKEA with Taylor to get 2 shelves and some different knobs for the wall unit. It was packed! I put the shelves up as soon as I got home and changed the knobs. Around 5:15 I went over and had dinner with the ‘rents and then came back home and made my card for today. Andrew stopped by a little later, he’s off to Florida early tomorrow morning to see a friend. He’ll be back on Tuesday night and I’ll be picking him up! I squeezed in a movie after he left, Live, Die, Repeat – Edge of Tomorrow. I have to say that I didn’t think that I was going to like it but it was quite good! Today I’m off to the scrapbook store for a bit and then who knows! It’s good to be off from work! LOL! 🙂

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 234

I do love the purples and blues together the silver is the icing on the cake! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, I adhered a piece of Wisteria Wonder to cover the front for the background. The piece of Watercolor Paper is inked with Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy using the Tim Holts Mini Ink Blending Tool. At first I thought that I wanted to get rid of the line but the more I looked at it the more I liked it so it stayed. Before I adhered the Watercolor Paper to the background I adhered a piece of 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon with some Glue Dots around the back and then used a combination of SNAIL and Fast Fuse to make sure that it stayed in place. The butterfly is cut out from Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock with the Butterflies Thinlits*. I tied a piece of Silver Baker’s Twine around one of the Mini Metallic Clothespins and used it to hold the butterfly to the ribbon. The greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut it out and slid it under the clothespin. I love the inked background and the cool way that the butterfly is attached to the card! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks very much for visiting me today! I hope that you all have a fantastic fun filled Friday! 🙂

Mojo 378 & the New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! My wish for the New Year is that it’s great for all of us! I hope that you all had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve. I had a nice low key one. No, I did not move at work again yesterday, I’m over it! LOL! Maybe Monday? I came home and my brother, Erika and little Daniel were at my parent’s. One of their little Dachshunds passed away the night before in the car on the way to the vet. Poor little Nick. They came over to bury him in the backyard. After that the six of us went to Friday’s for dinner. I was surprised at all of the large groups of people that were there having dinner. I guess a lot of families decided to have a low key, fun New Year’s Eve. After dinner we went back to my parents and I chased Daniel around for a bit. Sometimes his little legs move faster than the rest of him! They left around 7:30 and I came home and decided that I would put the new wall unit together and switch them out. The main part didn’t take but 20 minutes, the door and drawer inserts took the longest. I did manage to get everything switched and I love the way it looks now. After that was done it was time for a glass of Cupcake Red Velvet wine and some Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. I text a bunch of my peeps to wish them Happy New Year and then finally went to bed around 2:00, hence my lateness this morning! A different way for me to ring in the New Year but not a bad way at all!

My first card for this year is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Now that the Holiday’s are officially over it’s time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day! There are a few really fun new sets in the 2015 Occasions Catalog along with some really great Designer Series Paper so that’s what I used for my card! It begins with a base of Calypso Coral Card Stock and the background is a piece of Real Red. The two flags are paper from the Stacked with Love DSP Stack*, I used a Simon Says Stamp die to create the stitching down the sides on the flagged pieces and also on the piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that goes across the top. My greeting is from the You Plus Me Stamp Set* and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral on Whisper White and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. A little Red Glimmer Paper heart, cut out with one of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits*, I adhered to the greeting with a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional and completes the card. I really like the colors in the Stacked with Love DSP and the You Plus Me Stamp Set has some cool graphic style images! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! It’s the first post of the new year, one of 365! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me and I hope that today is the start of the best year ever for all of us!! 🙂
