And Saturday! It was an interesting day here yesterday, we got another foot of snow. This time it was that heavy wet snow, the kind that makes the tree branches hang down. I went over to my parent’s in the morning to wait for Daniel to be dropped off, they had an appointment. When Erika dropped him off we spent some time looking out the window and discussing the fact that I hate snow and Daniel loves it! LOL! Once they got back we had some lunch and then I ventured out to the Deli and broughtΒ Heather some lunch. I spent the afternoon over there researching some stuff while she worked. The snow stopped around 1:30 and the sun came out. Thankfully the roads were mostly clear. After dinner I got ready to go to Adelphi University in Garden City for the Sing Strong Aca-Idol Competition. Andrew’s group Satellite Lane performed along with nine other groups. They were all fantastic! This morning I’m off to The Ink Pad to spend the day with Barbara! What’s on for you today?
My card that I have for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
I have had this journaling card sitting on my desk for a few weeks and decided that I would finally get to use it! My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round all four corners on the card base. Across the bottom is a strip of Blushing Bride. The journaling card is from the My Mind’s Eye Fancy That Collection and is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I cut the congratulations out of some Gold Foil Sheet and another piece of Ivory 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card. I love the gold foil accents in the journaling card and the congratulations looks really cool cut out of the Gold Foil Sheet! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a super Saturday! π

Fantastic card, Justin! I love that journaling card as it’s so pretty with the pennants and the gold. The accents you added to complement it are just perfect – the sentiment and the sequins. Such a great celebratory card! Hopefully today’s sunshine goes a long way toward melting the snow from yesterday. It’s really been a weird winter since it seems that LI is getting the brunt of the storms and snow whereas the HV is not!
Thank you Christy! I like using journaling cards for a focal point on a card and those ones are great! The Congratulations Die is one of my faves, so nice and scripty! Not much of the snow melted and they say we are to get more next week! I’m over Winter! LOL! Enjoy your day! π
This is interesting Justin – when I first looked at today’s card I thought the dark rectangle looked like it was convex with the flags cut out with a die and color put behind it! That may have been because of the shadow on the gold flags. Anyway, I sat and pondered how you could possibly do that and then the light bulb finally went off. See, I took something simple and make it complicated. DUH Anyway, I love the look – especially the one I saw originally. The Congratulations word looks fantastic and I think you are so wise to back your words to give them more stability. Super Duper job as always. Now, stop laughing at me! LOL You have yourself a Stupendous Saturday in the City today and stay away from any cranes you see! Love & Hugs, XXOO π
Thank you Grace! I take simple things and make them complicated all the time! I do love that Congratulations Die and it’s always wise to back it with something when you let it “hang”! I enjoyed my day at The Ink Pad and I hope that you had a good day too! Yes, no cranes! Yikes! Love and hugs to you! XOXO π
Quick, simple yet elegant! At first I thought you made your own banner. OMG, 12 more inches, sorry. We have been cold but no rain since our monsoon on Wednesday. looking at snow here tomorrow, dread it, oh well…..
hubby and I will hit a movie tonite. I have some DT projects to work on, les see if Mojo finds me
Thanks Linda! Most of the 12 inches is still here and we are to get more this week! Over it!! LOL! Hope you don’t get your snow either!
What movie did you go and see? I hope that your Mojo found you! π
Hey Justin, this card is gorgeous! I love that congratulations, and the way it hangs off the edges of the card! Sorry about your snow… We are in for a mega hot week ahead – wanna trade places for a while? Just let me loose in that Scrap-A-Latte shop π xxx
Hi Kelly! Thank you! Yes, I like that Die a lot! You can send your mega hotness here, I would gladly have it over all the snow! I HATE snow! LOL! You would have a better time at The Ink Pad!! More stuff! XOXO π
