Good morning peeps! How is everything on your end? Things are good here, other than it snowed, hailed, sleeted then rained here yesterday. We got every form of winter precipitation in one day. It’s supposed to be party sunny here today and go up to 50 on Wednesday with some rain. By the weekend it’s going to be in the 20’s again. Crazy weather! I sound like I am a little obsessed with the weather don’t I?! LOL!

Today my post is for Mojo Monday. This week’s sketch has been provided by Julee Tilman…

It’s got some more layers than we have had in previous weeks, a good excuse to bust out a lot of product! The base of my card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. Before I adhered it to the card I used some Sticky Strip to hold a piece of Pool Party 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon in place. The next layer is a piece of Rich Razzleberry that I embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the main piece I stamped the images form the Best of Birthday’s 25th Anniversary Set in Rich Razzleberry. I cut one of the presents out with my Paper Snips and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The backing is a piece of Pool Party and the flags on the bottom are cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and Stamped with an image from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set in Pool Party. I adhered it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Pool Party is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scalloped Circle Punch and embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Some Summer Starfruit is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional to the Pool Party scallop circle. The image is from the Ciao, Baby! Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I really like the way the scallop circles all layer so nicely together and the color combination is neat too. Freshly Made Sketches #69

Hello there! How are all of you doing today? I’m good, I have to run into Manhattan tonight after work so it’s going to be a very long day! I’m hoping to not sleep past my stop on the way home, I have done that before and it’s not fun at all! It was rainy and overcast here again yesterday and is supposed to get much colder. I think we are supposed to get some snow tonight too, hopefully only a dusting. On a side note the 2013 Spring Catalog is one of the featured catalogs on the Google Catalogs App for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices. For today’s post I have my Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. This week our sketch is provided by Linda…

A super clean and simple sketch indeed! In the spirt of trying to get some Valentine’s card ideas that’s what I went with. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Pool Party on the bottom left and some Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper** on the top right. For some separation I punched out a piece of Primrose Petals with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and used some 2-Way Glue to adhere it diagonally. The images are from the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and they are cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. The greeting is from the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I’m really liking the Pool Party and Primrose Petals together and the Sycamore Street DSP from Sale-A-Bration is one of the best yet! Paper Craft Crew Sketch 25

Wednesday already?! Where is the week going? I have been a very busy boy all week, although it does mean that we are closer to Friday! LOL! I know, I’m a little obsessed with Friday! How is everyone today? I’m not too bad. It sleeted here a little last night but has turned to rain and is supposed to stop soon. I guess it’s winter again!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week have a sketch and color combo. I did the sketch but not the color combo…

Colors: Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Basic Gray

I wanted to use some Summer Starfruit and one of my favorite Designer Series papers, Comfort Café has it in it so I choose the rest of the colors from there. The base of the card is Soft Suede Card Stock. The background is a piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper. I backed it with some Very Vanilla to make it a little more ridgid so that it was easier to adhere the piece of Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back with some Sticky Strip. A strip of Midnight Muse embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder goes down the left side. I punched out some Cajun Craze with the Curly Label Punch and stamped them in Midnight Muse with an image from the Creative Elements Stamp Set. The hellos are form the Petite Pretties Stamp Set** and are stamped in Summer Starfruit. I used the Petite Curly Label Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the larger labels with SNAIL. They are then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the way the the image from Creative Elements is similar to the pattern in the DSP and I love the colors! Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #23 & Blog Candy!

Hello peeps! Well I must say that it was nice to have a day off yesterday and I got a lot done too! I ran some errands, made some cards and straightened up the kitchen. It is a little too cold for my liking around here lately and I think it’s supposed to get a lot colder over the next few days. I’m definitely more of a spring person than a winter one! My poor convertible doesn’t like this weather at all either, she is wondering when she will be topless again! I spoke to my aunt in Wisconsin today and she told me that they have had about 20 some inches of snow, that is definitely not for me! How many more months until spring?!

I decided that I hd to use my favorite stamp set from the Holiday Catalog one last time. I also needed some bright colors to chase away some of my winter blues. The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the card I used some Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, that I recently acquired from the Clearance Rack, across the middle and secured with some Sticky Strip around the back. The main panel is a piece of Pool Party that I cut the bottom off of with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. I stamped the images from the Affection Collection Stamp Set in Pool Party and Pacific Point. The banner and the winged heart are cut out with my Paper Snips and are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to each other and the card. I used the Small Heart Punch to punch out a piece of Red Glimmer Paper and affixed that to the winged heart with some SNAIL. The love is stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I backed it with a piece of Pool Party that is punched out with the same and the middle is cut out and adhered to the back with SNAIL. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals keep it on the card. I really love the Affection Collection Stamp Set and am going to miss it. I hope that enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this weeks sketch challenge. Swallowtail Christmas Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday peeps! I’m off to Manhattan this morning and I’m taking the train in because of the snow they say we are going to get. The only good thing about the train is that I will get some reading done. I’m trying to get through the second Hunger Games book Catching Fire, I usually only get to read on the train and I haven’t been taking the train in a lot so it’s taking me a long time to get through it! Hopefully I can finish it today.

My post for today is the Christmas card and gift bag that I gave my mum. I have mentioned before that she is a big fan of butterflies. When I saw the Swallowtail* in the new 2013 Spring Catalog I knew I had to have it. The base of the card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I stamped the Swallowtail Stamp* in Raspberry Ripple on Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I like that the stamp is so large that it goes off the card stock. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with some Gumball Green Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the bag I used a small size white bag that I got from the craft store. I stamped the Swallowtail Stamp*, again in Raspberry Ripple on Whisper White Card Stock. The image is the same as the card but I stamped it in Gumball Green ink this time. My mum loved the card and gift bag. This is a great simple elegant card and could be used for so many occasions with a simple greeting change. I hope that you enjoyed the Swallowtail card and bag. Merry Christmas! & Sneak Peek!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope that you are having a nice day with your family and friends! I still have some cards to make so I better get to it! In the mean time here is my card for today. It’s my Christmas card to all of you! The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I rounded the corners with the 1″ Circle Punch on the base and the background layer. The background is Very Vanilla and I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the outline of the ornament. The greeting is from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple, it’s mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flagged piece of paper is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack*. I stamped an image from the Mixed Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple and punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. I used one of the new Designer Builder Brads* on top and the image under the bubble is from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set*, punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and too is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and again is stamped in Raspberry Ripple, cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simple elegance and the new Print Poetry DSP Stack coordinates well with the Ornament Keepsakes Set. I hope that you enjoyed your Christmas card and that you have a very happy day! Sahara Burgundy Sleigh Flurry

Ahh… Monday… but it’s Christmas Eve! Are you all finished with your shopping or are you like me who will be stopping by Target later?! I got most of the last of my Christmas cards made yesterday. I still have some stuff to do but I’m hoping that I can get it finished tonight. Today’s post is a card that I sent to a friend. She sent me a lovely card so I wanted to return the favor. The base of the card is Sahara Sand and I stamped it with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand. Down the right side is a piece of Bravo Burgundy, the one side is cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies, and a strip of Brushed Gold Card Stock is adhered on top. The image and greetings are from the Open Sleigh Stamp Set and are all stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I cut the sleigh out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Behind it is a another piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that I cut out with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. I love the color combination and the vintage feel of the stamp set. I hope that she enjoyed the card and that you like it too. Thank you for spending a little of your time with me. I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas Eve! Artichoke Sand Burgundy Thinking Hello & Sneak Peek

It’s Sunday and that means that today is the last full day for last minute holiday shopping. Tomorrow being Christmas Eve the stores will be closing at 6:00. I’m thinking that I forgot to get some stuff so I will need to go out today, most likely earlier rather than later. I have some serious crafting to get done today too. Will someone please be kind enough to remind me in August next year that I need to start making my holiday stuff? Thanks, it’s much appreciated!

Today I have some more sneak peeks of the 2013 Spring Catalog. Some stamps and and a new embellishment. For the base of my card I used a piece of Always Artichoke Card Stock. The background is my new fave the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* on Sahara Sand. The strip of chevrons is stamped in Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set*. The main image is from the Just Thinking Wood Mount Stamp. I stamped it twice, once in Bravo Burgundy and again in Always Artichoke and the Artichoke piece is cut out. Before I adhered it to the Burgundy piece I used one of the new Designer Builder Brads. The image in the middle is from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set, punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy with an epoxy bubble on top. Both of the stamped pieces are mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the chevrons form the Oh, Hello* set and Sahara Sand is becoming my neutral of choice lately. Control Freaks December Blog Tour!

Hello there! How are all of you people doing? I’m doing great, and how could I not be?! It’s time for this month’s Control Freaks December Blog Tour featuring Winter Fun! I am the first stop on the tour but you also may have arrived here from the über talented Connie Babbert’s blog. Didn’t she have some amazing projects?! I have two projects for you this time. One is a masculine box with a lodge feel and the other is a fun card that would be good for just about anything.

First up we have the box. I used one of the Kraft Gift Boxes. These are great item from the Annual Catalog. They are great to decorate with some Designer Series Paper and embellishments. I adhered some paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack around the sides. I like the plaid pattern in Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Early Espresso. On the top of the box I made a paper bow from some Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. It’s 3/4″ wide and if you use your Bone Folder to “curl” it a little it tends not to crease when you make the bow. On top of the bow I stacked three of the Naturals Designer Buttons, adhering them together with Mini Glue Dots. For the tag I stamped an image from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla. I punched out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the 1″ Circle Punch, scored it down the center and adhered it to the tag with some Sticky Strip. A quick punch through the top and some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to attach it to the bow and you’re done. Quick and easy, great for a masculine treat!

Next up we have the card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. A piece of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack is flagged and adhered to the background. The stamped image is form the Wonderful Winterland Stamp Set stamped in Basic Black. I colored it in with Island Indigo, Pool Party, Blush Blossom, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers. The 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch is used to punch it out and a piece of Pool Party cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die backs it. They are mounted to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is form the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. I love the little girl and bunny sharing some cocoa, a friendly little card for someone special.

Paper Players 126 & News!

Ahh… Monday… back again I see! How was your weekend? Mine was GREAT! I got most of my to do list accomplished and had so much fun at my two parties. Just when I thought that it couldn’t get any better I got some exciting news! I will be a Guest Designer on the Paper Players Challenge for the next six months starting in January! WOW! I’m a huge fan of the talented group of ladies and am honored to be with them. I can’t wait to get started. How fitting that today is my post for this week’s challenge!

This week’s challenge will last for two weeks and Ann has given us a Clean & Simple Challenge with snowflakes…

I love snowflakes, just as long as they are on a card and not floating through the air! My card starts off with a base of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. For the Whisper White panel I started by punching a hole in the upper left with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I cut out a piece of Window Sheet and adhered it to the back over the hole. The stamped snowflakes and greeting are from the Snow Swirled Stamp Set and are stamped in Not Quite Navy. All of the snowflake images have a Basic Jewel Rhinestone in the center of them. The snowflake on the Window Sheet is created but cutting out some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. I adhered the two parts together and to the Window Sheet with some Mini Glue Dots. The panel is then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simple elegance of the card and the shadow that the Silver Glimmer Paper snowflake casts on the card base. I hope you enjoyed my Paper Players Challenge card for this week.
