Blushing Surf Enjoy

Happy Sunday peeps! Michael’s baby book class at Scrap-A-Latte was fun yesterday! After we were finished there we stopped back at my house to pick up a few things and then made our way towards Manhattan. I dropped Michael off in Astoria so he could meet his friend Marcia for dinner. I then headed over the 59th Street Bridge to Kim’s apartment on 63rd and I was lucky enough to get a parking space pretty much right across the street! Score! I took the stuff up to the apartment and then went for a little walk. When I got back I put on the TV for a bit and then went and met Michael at the 59th Street Subway. On the way back to the apartment we stopped for some Pinkberry frozen yogurt. This morning was another lazy one and now we are at The Ink Pad. A pretty good weekend so far!

So, today’s card uses one of my favorite sets, it’s a “Vintage” one but I still love it! My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Blushing Bride and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The cake and wreath are from that favorite set, the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb and some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue Ink with the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to give the paper that faded look. The image is then heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with my Paper Snips. The wreath is also heat embossed but on Vellum and cut out with a die from Dies By Dave. I adhered the wreath with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and the cake with Foam Tape. I used some more of the inked paper to cut out the Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy. It’s cut out three more times from white and then adhered together with more Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes today’s card. I really do still love the Your Perfect Day Set, especially that wreath! Thank you very much for stopping by to see me today! I hope that you have a super Sunday! 🙂

Welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper!!!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a rough start yesterday, lesson learned, but the rest of the day was nice. I went over and hung out with Brain and Kim for a bit and then came home and worked on some projects. I had a lot to get done this weekend in preparation for today’s announcement! I have been toying with the idea of starting my own challenge blog. I love playing along with all of the challenges that I do each week and seeing all of the amazing cards and projects that are submitted. I had fun being the co-captain on Can You Case It with my friend Eva. Since I already had a talented bunch of people Eva and I decided that I could take some of my team and move forward with my little project. So today marks the very first Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

I’m excited to be able to do this and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the rest of the Design Team! We have added a few new faces and there are some that you know from CYCI. We thought that we would start things off with a nice easy challenge, Getting to Know You! Make a card using your favorite Stamps, Ink and Paper! Whatever style you like! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! To make sure that there is enough time for everyone to participate this challenge will run for two weeks! Some of our Design Team is also giving away blog candy so make sure and go to the SIP Challenge Site and visit the other designers! We are also giving you the ability to vote for your favorites! Make sure that you cast your vote and the person with the most votes at the end of the challenge will be featured as our Audience Pick!

So without further ado here is the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I actually made a few cards for this but when I thought about what kind of card is my favorite I had to go with a college card! This one was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest a while back. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Two layers, one of Neenah 80lb and one of Pink Pirouette, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Notebook Paper Background Stamp with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and cut out with a die from DiesByDave. I adhered some of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me with Thermo-Web Bling Glue Dots. The heart is a piece of red felt from Michaels and is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits and adhered with Glue Dots. For the flowers I used some Pink Pirouette and Watermelon Wonder with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals Dies, they are also adhered with Glue Dots. One of the Subtles Collection Designer Buttons has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied in a bow and it’s adhered with another Glue Dot. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects. The stamped greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Tip Top Taupe. The you is a piece of Pink Pirouette cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Phew! That’s a lot of stuff! LOL! I love the roses and the addition of the felt to the card, the wreath, well you know how I feel about that! So there is my first card for the NEW Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog! I really hope that you enjoyed it and that you will go over and see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you! We would love to see one of your creations in the gallery too! Paper Craft Crew 147

We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card! Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! So today marks the 400th Mojo Monday sketch challenge!! I’m very proud to say that I have participated since challenge 220! That means that I have made 180 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge!! Crazy! I also would like to throw my hat in the ring to be considered for the Design Team!

They are going back to their roots for this sketch, it’s the very first one that they had…

Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Can You Case It? 71

It was chilly here again yesterday but sunny! It did warm up a bit later in the day, enough to take a ride to Scrap-A-Latte with the top down! In the morning I crafted for a bit and then Taylor came by in the afternoon after she got out of work, that’s when we went over to see Renee. We also had some Blaze Pizza for Lunch. That has become one of my favorite places to get pizza! You can make your own with like 40 different toppings and it $7.95 per pie, and it’s delicious! We came home and puttered around the house before running out to Michaels to pick up some necessities! LOL! The rest of night was spent crafting and chatting. A nice way to spend a Saturday! This morning I’m out to breakfast with Sam and Kim, it’s been too long and we need to catch up!

It’s Sunday and that means that it’s time for another Can You Case It challenge, This week we are bidding a fond farewell to the soon to be Vintage 2013-2015 In-Colors…

Yes, I was the one who threw in the gold! LOL! I really am going to miss Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. The panel has a piece of PinkFresh Studio Mint to Peach Ombre Airmail Washi Tape just for Michael! 😛 The greeting and cake are from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set, I promise that I will stop using it soon! LOL! I stamped the greeting in Crisp Cantaloupe and quickly coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. If you do it fast enough it will stick! The neat little card is the Reverse Confetti Mini Circle Garland Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts die cut from some Gold Foil Sheet. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. My cake is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Crisp Cantaloupe and cut out with my Paper Snips. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I really am very obsessed with that Stamp Set, I just love it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge! Perfect Borrowed Birthday

And it’s the start of the three day weekend! I had a nice Friday, work was good, I snuck out at 2:00! I came home and worked on my card for today and Skyped with Andrea. Sandy stopped by to pick up something that she left at my house on Thursday night and she also brought over her goodies that she got in the mail and now I have a few more things that I want! We also ran to Michaels quickly! Anthony and Bill came to get me at 7:00 and we went to Smash Burger for dinner. I had sweet potato fries, onion straws and fried pickles along with my burger! I did share everything except the sweet potato fries, they are delicious because they are so nice and crispy! From there we stopped at Starbucks and I had a mini vanilla bean Frappucino. We met up with Marissa and her friend Gina at the bar and had a fun time. I came home and went straight to bed! LOL! Today I’m planning on stopping by Scrap-A-Latte for a bit and then crafting too! A nice relaxing start to the weekend!

I promised that I would get all caught up on my cards from the classes at Scrap-A-Latte so here are the ones from last month’s class. We featured Reverse Confetti and I had loads of fun making the cards!

Today I have a birthday card for you! Have you ever gotten a little obsessed with a stamp set or a particular layout?! I am a little obsessed with a particular stamp set and layout lately and I love to see how many different ways that I can use both! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape. The panel is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack, it’s adhered to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive and cut out with another one of the fantastic dies from DiesByDave! How happy was I when I saw this one?! I punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack from Blackberry Bliss and adhered them to the wreath with Bling Glue Dots. A few pearls are adhered to the centers with Crystal Effects. I cut out some Basic Black and Neenah Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die. They are adhered together and then to card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set, I heat embossed it on Basic Black with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Three sequins adhered to the card with more Crystal Effects compete the card! I really am obsessed with the Your Perfect Day Set and the layout, but I have used it for quite a few different style cards! Paper Players 245, Freshly Made Sketches 186 & Pals Paper Arts 251

Yes, you read correctly, you get three cards today! Not a bad way to start a Monday?! My day yesterday was just lovely! The weather was perfect, I got some projects finished, took ride in the convertible and ran some errands. A very nice Sunday indeed! I even got to relax a little and chat with the people upstairs. I finished the night off with some Chicken Tikka Masala and an Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Beer! Everyday should be like yesterday! How was your Sunday? I hope that it was just as good as mine!

So back to the three posts, I honestly don’t know how I got so behind this week! But I wanted to get them all in, hence the three cards! We’ll start off with the usual Monday card for the Paper Players…

Despite my manliness I do enjoy making a nice girly card from time to time! The base of this card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I flagged a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. On top of that is a White Tea Lace Paper Doily. The floral piece is cut from some American Crafts Glitter Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die to cut out a piece of vellum to serve as the pocket for my greeting which is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. I punched a hole in the top and threaded some Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine though it and slipped it into the little vellum pocket. A few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some more of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me complete the card. The pink, pearls and doily make it girly right?!

Next up we have my card for his week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I used the sketch in a not so literal way this week. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and the greeting is stamped in Soft Suede using the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I then adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. All of the images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used the coordinating Bird Frame Cuts to cut them all out. For the bird I used Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon, his feet are Hello Honey, the flowers are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral and the branches are Soft Suede. A little White Signo Gel Pen and Sakura Black Gel Pen make his eye a little more realistic. All of the pieces are then adhered to the background with either Foam Tape or SNAIL. I just love that bird and can’t wait to try him out in other colors!

And last but certainly not least is my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I got to use some new goodies from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog which you can order from starting June 1st! The card base for this one is Whisper White and I ran a piece of the Vintage Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape down the left side. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the card. The flag on top of that is a piece of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. The butterfly is from one of the NEW Host Sets called Floral Wings. I stamped the butterfly in Daffodil Delight, the flowers in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Pacific Point. Since the dies aren’t available yet I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some pearls go down the body and a few random Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around the card. Finally my greeting is form the same set and it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. A fun, bright, cheery card even if I do say so myself!

Can You Case It #70

Happy Sunday! I do so enjoy my weekends! I had a nice productive morning yesterday, got lots of projects finished. Taylor came over and finished watching the rest of her Ink Masters show, I’m easily distracted by the TV but managed to stay focused! LOL! Last night a bunch of friends went out to celebrate our friend Neal’s birthday. We went to a restaurant in Huntington called XO. The food was really good and we had a great time! There was even some chocolate fondue for dessert! My favorite thing to dip were the little Rice Krispies Treats! When I got home Taylor was here watching another show called Freak Show. I question her taste in TV sometimes! LOL! All in all a really good day! How is your weekend so far?!

My card that I have for today is for this week’s Can You Case It challenge. This time around it’s a Designer’s Choice – May Flowers…

I wanted something really clean and simple. I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest. My card base is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape. My background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped my favorite wreath from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in the NEW Cucumber Crush Ink and used my Paper Snips to cut it out. It’s mounted to the card with some Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Garden Party Stamp Set and are stamped in the NEW Watermelon Wonder Ink. I also used my Paper Snips to cut them out. The greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I coated both the flowers and the greeting in Versa-Mark and then dipped them in Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and heated them with the Heat Tool to give them that super shiny look! They are all adhered to the wreath with SNAIL. A nice simple card using some old and new favorites! SUO Challenges 122

Another pretty nice day here, too bad I had to spend it in work! LOL! Work wasn’t too bad but tomorrow might be, I have a training scheduled and the trainer may not show and I don’t know the system well enough to do it my self! Yikes! Fingers crossed! I did have the top down in the car on the way home from work and that made things better for a while. After dinner Taylor and I ran to Michaels, I watched another YouTube video when I got home and had to go and get some Faber Castell Pitt Markers for another project that I want to give a try! YouTube is a very expensive time vampire for me! LOL! I do have a fun picture to share with you, my brother was fixing the siding on his house, he had a little mishap with a Mig-Welder and caused a small fire! Thankfully he had Daniel there to help him!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Fun Flowers challenge. I wanted to use some more stuff from the current catalogs before they become Vintage! The card base for today is the usual. I ran a piece of Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape down the left side. The bacground and next layers are pieces from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. The top layer is adhered with a piece of Fun Foam behind it. On my strip of Whisper White I stamped the stems and leaves from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Wild Wasabi. The greeting is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the flowers I stamped them in Rose Red and cut them out with my Paper Snips, some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the panel and more Fun Foam adheres the panel to the card. Not an overly complicated card but I really like the unusual layers and the popped up flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s SUO Challenges Fun Flowers challenge. Freshly Made Sketches 185

You know when you have one of those days, the ones that seem a lot longer than a regular day? That was my Wednesday. It was dreary and rainy for most of the day, well, drizzly. Work was a little on the crazy side. Lots of running around and I can prove that because my Apple Watch tells me that I walked 5 miles! Under normal circumstances I would say that being busy makes the day move along but that wasn’t the case. I came home, had some dinner and spoke to Andrea for a bit and then started to work on my project. I also FaceTimed with Michael for a while, that is always a nice way to end the day. Before I knew it it was 11:00 and I still had a bunch of blog stuff to do. So wait, did the day move fast or slow?! Let’s just say that it was an unusual day! Tonight I’m accompanying my friend Marissa to the LI-LGBT Network Gala. The company that I work for is a sponsor. I’ll try to get some pictures of us all dressed up, it should be lots of fun!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her King of Clean for her sketch challenge from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now a look at this week’s sketch…

I received a package in the mail yesterday with some more crafty goodies inside so I had to use at least one of them on today’s card! The base is the usual! For my background I heat embossed the Hardwood Background Stamp on a piece of Whisper White using some Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder (the new goodie!). It’s mounted to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My two flagged strips are pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Lawn Fawn Large and Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Basic Black to serve as a frame for some Vellum. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A piece of Daffodil Delight is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Some 2-Way Glue adheres it to the card. I really love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and I think that it looks so cool with the Hardwood Stamp on White! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!
