Happy Birthday Kim!

It’s Saturday and I survived my lengthy day at work yesterday/this morning! I’m so tired but off to Manhattan for the day. I can do it……………. oh, sorry… nodded off there for a second! LOL! Today’s post is for my wonderful, amazing, awesome friend Kim Doi. She is a great person and I consider myself very lucky to count her amongst my friends. She had seen a card that I made a while ago and said that she liked it so I filed away in my little brain and made a similar one for her. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I used basic Gray for the 3D window frame too. Before adhering the 3D part to the base I punched out some Daffodil Delight with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and adhered it down the left and right edges of the card. The 3D frame is adhered to the card base with Sticky Strip. On the inside the frame the background is a piece of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. All of the stamped images are from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set. The elephant is stamped in Basic Gray and his hat in Raspberry Ripple. Both are cut out with Paper Snips and the hat and the elephant are adhered to each other and the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two winner tickets are stamped in Raspberry Ripple and punched out with the Ticket Builder Duo Punch. A piece of Island Indigo Bakers Twine is strung across the top and the small tickets, stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the Ticket Builder Duo Punch, are adhered with Multipurpose Glue. The greeting is stamped in Island Indigo and the corners are punched with the 1/2″ Circle Punch for the ticket effect. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to punch around the edge before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you like the card as much as Kim did. Thank you for coming by to see me today, I appreciate it. Have a great Saturday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 18

Good morning! Well, this week is moving along rapidly. I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already. It will be Christmas before you know it. Time to finish up those cards and get started on making some gifts! I have a question for you, what do you prefer: a store bought gift, a gift card or a handmade gift? Please leave me a comment to let me know!

My post today is for the Paper Craft Crew. This week we have a sketch…

A fun paneled sketch! My card starts off with a base of Crumb Cake Card Stock. The background uses a piece from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The Cherry Cobbler piece to the left is stamped with the Timber Stampin’ Around Wheel in Cherry Cobbler. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the “Vintage” Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to go to the side of that. The stamped image is from the “Vintage” Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp Set. The snowman is stamped in Basic Black Ink and then colored in with Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers. I punched him out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and backed him with a piece of Crumb Cake that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzilit. Both pieces are adhered together with SNAIL and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Merry Christmas is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the one end is flagged. A flower form the Boho Blossoms Punch in Cherry Cobbler backs a Natural Designer Button with some Linen Thread tied in a bow. That is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot to the left of the flagged greeting. I really like the Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp Set, the images are perfect for some older looking Christmas Cards. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Thanks for checking in and don’t forget to leave a comment on your favorite gift! Have a productively amazing day!

Paper Players #123

Ugh… it’s Monday already! That four day weekend just flew by and it’s less than a month until Christmas! I hope that all of you had a nice weekend and spent time with family and friends and got some shopping done. I spent some much needed time with my peeps and it was great!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. Jaydee has give a this nifty sketch to work with…

My card starts with a base of Pool Party Card Stock and on top of that is a piece of Raspberry Ripple. The main panel is stamped in Raspberry Ripple using the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set. I also stamped some images in Illuminate Glimmer Watermark but they are hard to see in the picture. The edges are made with Brushed Silver Metallic Paper and the Finishing Touches Edgelits and the panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. I cut the snowflakes out in Pool Party using the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. They are held together with some 3/16″ Metallic Brads. I thought they needed some bling so I put some Basic Jewels Rhinestones on them and the adhered them to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Merry Christmas is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I flagged the ends and then placed a piece of Pool Party that I cut out using the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die behind it. Both pieces are adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m really liking the Pool Party and Raspberry Ripple together and the snowflakes are great with their little extra sparkle. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Sketch Challenge card. Thank you for checking in with me and I hope that you enjoy your day!

Fab Friday 07

A good Saturday morning to you all. I hope that you all survived Black Friday! Did you score any huge bargains? I don’t do Black Friday, I am not a person that likes lines of any kind, not that many of you do I’m sure. If I buy anything it’s online, from the comfort of my home. That being said I think I will dig out the Christmas Tree on Sunday morning and that way I may actually start decorating it! I have such aspirations to make all of the ornaments on it, I tried last year and then life just gets in the way! I’ll give it a go again this year and keep you up to date on my progress.

Today’s post is for Fab Friday. This time we have a sketch challenge…

I made a bunch of Holiday cards yesterday and today so I needed to make something else. I settled on a birthday card. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I took a piece of Whisper White cut to 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ and stamped the greeting from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set in Island Indigo. Along the bottom I used the Border Banter Stamp Set stamped once in Island Indigo and a second time in So Saffron. A piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon goes around the center and is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the panel to the base. I haven’t used the Cupcake Builder Punch to make a cupcake in a while and thought that it would be the perfect thing for the card. I punched it out in Island Indigo and So Saffron. I used the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set to stamp it and the adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the card would work especially great for child but could also be used for an adult too. I hope you enjoyed my Fab Friday card. Thank you as always for your comments and for stopping by! Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #62

Extra Happy, part of a 4 day weekend, Friday to you! Is everyone sufficiently stuffed from their Thanksgiving festivities?! I know I am. I had dinner at my parents and then later on went to my friend Louis’ for dessert. Ugh, I think I can safely skip breakfast today! I hope that you all enjoyed your day with family and friends.

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week we have a clever sketch from Jen M…

I was in Holiday card mode yesterday but I don’t like them to scream Christmas. The less holiday color combinations the better! My card starts off with a base of Early Espresso Card Stock. I took two pieces of of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered them to each other. Some sticky Strip holds a piece of Vintage Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon across the middle. I adhered the panel to a piece of Cherry Cobbler and then adhered it to the card base. Using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies I cut out a piece of Very vanilla and pierced the edge with the Essential Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The Beautiful Wings Embosslit is used to cut out some Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the die cut with Sticky Strip and put some Basic Jewels Pearls along the center. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the die cut to the panel and I bent the wings of the butterfly up slightly. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Modern Label Punch to punch it out, put some more pearls on either side, and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the slightly country feel that the Designer Series Paper gives the card and butterflies are my mom’s favorite. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Thank you for visiting with me and I hope that you recover completely from your food comas and enjoy some leftovers today!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #17

Happy Thanksgiving! Today is the day that we stuff ourselves while spending some much needed quality time with family and friends. I love any holiday because it means that there is no work! LOL! I have a 4 day weekend so I’m going to make my holiday cards and get them ready to be sent out. I hope that you enjoyed the Control Freaks Blog Tour yesterday! Thank you all so much for stopping by and for all your comments! You guys rock!

My post today is for my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s challenge. This week we have this sketch to get creative with…

I poked through my Designer Series Paper and settled on some Be of Good Cheer. I like this particular print because it has quite a few colors in it. The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. The background is the piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper that I mentioned. It has Primrose Petals, Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery and some Gumball Green. I put a piece of Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon on the left side adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. Then I embossed a piece of Certainly Celery with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the middle square. The ornaments are from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and Gumball Green. I punched them out with the Ornament Punch and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two flagged pieces are Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi. I punched out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Boho Blossoms Punch and the greeting from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler, with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. A Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle is adhered to it with a Mini Glue Dot. I like the simplicity and softness of the card and I hope that you enjoyed it too. Thank you for joining me for my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge and you for taking some time out of your busy day to visit. Have a fun and filling Thanksgiving!

Control Freaks November Blog Tour!

Hello everyone and welcome to the November Control Freaks Blog Tour featuring Stampin’ Up! products. This month our theme is Christmas projects. I’m the first stop on the tour this month! You may also have gotten here from Robin Spinner’s blog. Didn’t she have some awesome projects?! Make sure that you follow along and see all of the projects on this month’s tour. I made 4 projects for you to see!

The first one is a card that I actually made back in August. I saw a tag that Shelli (Stampin’ Up! CEO) had posted on her blog and I loved it. I wanted it to be a card so I made the necessary adjustments. The base of the card is Early Espresso Card Stock. The large flagged pieces are a piece of Cherry Cobbler embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On top of that is a piece of Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper. I stamped some images from the Affection Collection Stamp Set in Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies and then layered the Heart of Christmas Stamp, stamped in Early Espresso, on top. I stamped it again and cut out and flagged the middle of the greeting and adhered it to the stamped piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The pinecone and pine needles are from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and are stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with my Paper Snips and also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The star is punched from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. A small piece of  1/4″ Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) is folded and adhered under it. A piece of Crumb Cake is also cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits and I pierced the edge with the Festive Paper Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The top frame and bottom frame are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the layering and the colors, not traditional but warm and delicious!

My next project is a place card for Christmas dinner. I took a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and used the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies to partially cut out a piece. I then scored it and folded it. A piece of Lucky Limeade cut out with the same dies and pierced with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack creates a nice base for the ornament. The ornament is stamped in Raspberry Ripple with the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Collection Framelits. The frame and the ornament are mounted to the Very Vanilla base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Happy Christmas is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the ornament. My name is stamped in Raspberry Ripple using the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet and my Stamp-a-ma-jig. It’s a quick and easy way to add some personality to your holiday place settings.

For my third project I made some cute little gift tags. The main piece of the tag is created using the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die. I folded the top and bottom and adhered them to each other and then just the one side. I punched a piece of Gumball Green out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and attached them to the tags with some 3/16″ Metallic Brads. A piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine is wrapped around the two brads to make the loop. The first tag uses the Make a Mitten Stamp Set and the Mitten Builder Punch. The mittens are stamped in Primrose Petals and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals too. I used the Small Heart Punch and the Owl Builder Punch to create the hearts that are punched out in Gumball Green.

The next tag has trees and ornaments that are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack in Primrose Petals and Gumball Green. They are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting on this tag is form the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals.

The last Tag uses the images and greeting from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set. The reindeer and greeting are stamped in Primrose Petals and the oval, which is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch, in Gumball Green. The border on each side is from the Make a Mitten Stamp Set and is also stamped in Gumball Green. All of the tags have a little card that has a piece of Primrose Petals punched out with the Mitten Builder Punch and the to and from is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set. The best thing about these tags is that they also fit a gift card inside! They also look like little manila envelopes!

For my final project I made a card holder. The images are from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set. The gingerbread men are stamped in Soft Suede and the mugs are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the coordinating Holiday Collection Framelits Dies to cut them out. The gingerbread men have a piece of Cherry Cobbler that is punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and embossed with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. They are adhered to pieces of Lucky Limeade that is punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The mugs have pieces of Soft Suede that I punched out with the same scallop punch and embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. They too are adhered to the same size Lucky Limeade circles. All of the images are adhered to the circle pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some Sticky Strip to adhere them to the pegs and some hemp twine gives them something to hang from. This is a simple project and a great way to display your holiday cards!

I hope that you enjoyed my Christmas projects form this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour. Next on your tour is the awesome blog of Patty Bennett. She has some great stuff in store for you to take a look at! Thank you very much for visiting me and I hope that your holidays are magical and filled with happiness!

Mojo 268

Good morning! How is everything by you? Everything here is ok. Just trying to make it through the week! It was a little chilly and cloudy here on Long Island today and it’s supposed to be like that for a while. At least it’s not raining or snowing or for that matter hurricaining! Is that even a word?!?! Well, it is now! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Carole Burrage has provided us with this well rounded sketch…

Hmm… not as funny as I thought it would be! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Chocolate Chip Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Crumb Cake with the Etruscan Elegance Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel in Raspberry Ripple and adhered it to the card base with SNAIL. All of the stamped images are from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and are cut out with the coordinating Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. The large one is stamped in Raspberry Ripple, the medium one in Summer Starfruit and the small one in Chocolate Chip. The two smaller ones are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the larger one with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greetings are both from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set. The longer greeting is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and the Happy Christmas is stamped in Summer Starfruit. I flagged the end of the Happy Christmas and used a Naturals Designer Button tied with some Linen Thread for the embellishment. It’s like the Daydream Medallions and the Etruscan Elegance Wheel were made to go together. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you, as always for your visits and comments. Have a fun day people!

Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week LeAnne has given us a Clean and Simple Gold or Silver challenge…

Perfect colors for the holidays! I started with a base of Midnight Muse Card Stock. The background is a piece of Gumball Green that I stamped in Midnight Muse with the Joy stamp from the Priority Mail Host(ess) Stamp Set. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up up as I went across the card. The pierced edge is made using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The stamps are also from the Priority Mail Stamp Set and are stamped in Midnight Muse. Some Versa-Mark, Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the penny stamp from the Lovely Little Labels Stamp Set gives it some monetary value.  I used the Postage Stamp Punch to punch them out and used the 1 3/8″ Square Punch to punch out some Brushed Silver Paper to back them with. I placed a Basic Jewel Rhinestone on each of the hats and adhered them to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Midnight Muse. I flagged the ends and put some more Brushed Silver Card Stock behind it before I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have had this card layout floating around in my head for a while and I’m happy that I finally got to use it. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Card. Don’t forget to check out the SALE and thank you for visiting me today! Have a great day!

Merry Believe Soiree Gift Tags

Hello! How are you all today? DId you have a nice Saturday? I had a very nice Saturday. I went into Manhattan and met my friend Kim for breakfast. She loves when I come in early (8:15?!), she says what’s the point of a Saturday when I have to get up at 8:00!! Really?!?! After that I went for a walk to visit a friend and then took the subway back to Kim and we walked over to Ward Island and then up to the Target at 116th Street. I definitely got my fill of exercise yesterday, 9.2 miles to be exact!

Today’s post is for some quick gift tags. We all need gift tags and I really don’t like the ones that you find in the stores, especially when I have all of these awesome stamps to use! I cut three piece of Whisper White Card Stock to 6″ x 3″ and folded them in half. I randomly stamped the front of each one with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Bashful Blue. Two of the cards got the Merry and one got Believe stamped in Midnight Muse. The first card is also stamped with the snowflake from the Make a Mitten Stamp set in Midnight Muse. For the second card I added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details and for the third card I used some Basic Jewels Rhinestones. I also stamped the envelopes with the to: from: from the No Peeking Stamp Set in Midnight Muse. These would make great cards for a workshop and they also show how you can step-up a card with simple additions. I hope that you enjoyed my post today and that you are inspired to make some gift tags of your own. Thank you for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
