Pool Indigo Apothecary Pocket Thanks

Good morning to everyone and happy Wednesday. It is supposed to be a nice day here Long Island today and the weekend is supposed to be beautiful. Today’s project is a small thank you envelope. I am always looking for a small card that can be put inside a gift and this one works perfectly. I started with some Pool Party Card Stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die. I used the extend crease pads and a spacer to get the score line just right. Two lines of Sticky Strip and you have a cute little envelope. The image on the front of the pocket is from the Apothecary Art Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out and put a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon behind it and adhered it with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the inside “card” I cut a piece of Crumb Cake to 3 3/4″ x 2″ and used the Round Tab Punch to punch out a piece of Island Indigo and folded it half and adhered it to the Crumb Cake with some more Sticky Strip. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. I used the Word Window Punch to punch it out and put it back in to crop it to the size that I wanted. You can slide the top flap under the closure held on by a 3/16″ Metallic Brad. It’s a different way to put a card with a gift and different is always good. I hope that you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Plum Celery Mixed Bunch

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday… and we know what that means… one more day until Friday! Today was Administrative Professionals Day and my boss Nancy, who is a really great person to work with, gave me a bunch of sunflowers. I thought that was very nice of her. Here is a picture of them…

Aren’t they beautiful?! Ok, now for today’s card… I have mentioned a few times before how much I love the Stampin’ Success magazine that Demonstrators get every month. Today’s card is a modified CASE of one from the current magazine. I started off with a base of Baja Breeze Card Stock. The Distressed Dots Background Stamp is inked in Baja Breeze Ink and stamped for my background. I used a flower image from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) inked in Perfect Plum and punched it out with the Blossom Punch, I also punched out a piece of Certainly Celery with Blossom Punch to go behind it and used a Subtles Collection Glimmer Brad to hold them together. The top of the card features a piece of Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery punched along one side with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The second stamped image is also form the Mixed Bunch (Occasions Mini) set and is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and mounted on a piece of Certainly Celery punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. Finally the greeting is From the Word Play Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum and mounted on some Certainly Celery. I’m loving the color combination, it’s a new one for me, and hope that you like it too. Have an awesome day and thank for visiting!

Mojo 238

Happy Wednesday to you all. Half way through the week is always better that where we were two days ago! I hope that everyone is having a good week, mine is good. I’m finally getting rid of my cold that I have had since Sunday. Today also marks the release of the Retired Accessories List. CLICK HERE to see the list and discounted products available only while supplies last. Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. The talented Mary Fish has give us this sketch to work with…

I knew what set I wanted to use as soon as I saw the sketch. The Tea Shoppe Stamp Set is one of my favorites from the Occasions Mini. It’s also a good reminder that it ends at the end of this month. If there is anything else that you wanted now is as good a time as any to get it. I started off the card with a base of Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the three tea cup image from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) in Pool Part and Wisteria Wonder and punched them out with my 1 1/4″ Square Punch and adhered them to the card with good old SNAIL. I then used my Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the pansy image in Wisteria Wonder and used my Blender Pen to color in the flowers with Pool Party and a touch of Lucky Limeade. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount it on the label. The greeting is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Small Oval Punch. I inked only the word thanks and used the Jewelry Tag Punch for the other greeting. Some Linen Thread and a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the card and it’s done! I love Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder together and The Labels Collection Framelits Dies are great too! I hope you like the card and thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day! 🙂

PPA 133

Good morning everyone on this dreary Monday morning. My friend and I drove back from DC yesterday and it rained the entire time. It was 81 degrees on Saturday and sunny so we did get to have a nice day while we were there. Today’s card is for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch. They have given us this to work with…

I love to try and use only one stamp set to make a card every once in a while. For this card I used Artistic Etchings. The base of the card is Rose Red cut to 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and folded in half. I stamped the Eiffel Tower in Basic Black on Whisper White. I used my Paper Piercer and Mat Pack to add some Silver Mini Brads to the bottom edge. Two pieces of Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper in Basic Black are adhered to the left side. The filigree image is stamped in Rose Red and punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. I used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut out a piece of Basic Black at 2 1/4″ for the backing and mounted it on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also placed a Silver Mini Brad in the center. The greeting is also stamped in Rose Red and I used the 1″ Square Punch to flag the one end and mounted that too with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a finishing touch I stamped the key in Rose Red and cut it out with my Paper Snips. I love the classic simplicity of the card and hope you like it too. Thank you so much for dropping by and have a great day!

Very Vintage Vogue

Good morning all! Happy Wednesday, which means we are halfway through the week! The weather here on Long Island has been beautiful but it’s a little colder today. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather sticking around! Today’s card is a thank you for everyone of you that takes time to stop by here and read my posts. I really am grateful that you do! I started with a base of Rose Red Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through my Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the top half of the background. The bottom half is created using the Very Vintage Stampin’ Around Large Wheel and Crumb Cake Ink and it is rolled onto Very Vanilla Card Stock. To cover the seam I used a piece of Crumb Cake 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon. The flowers are form the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set (Retired List) and are stamped in Rose Red. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and used some Large Pearl Jewels and a Basic Pearls Jewel for the centers and mounted them with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Apothecary Art Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and is also stamped in Rose Red. I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch out the phrase as well as the piece of Rose Red Card Stock behind it. You just punch out a label and then put it back into the punch and crop off the excess. I hope that you enjoyed your thank you card. It really does mean a lot to me that so many of you visit each day. Have a wonderful day!

Riding Hood Grey Corner Catcher

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice Saturday. I had a great day yesterday. I saw some dear friends that I haven’t seen in a while and went down to China Town with my friend Kim. It was beautiful in Manhattan yesterday and we also got to walk through Central Park. I’m so glad that the warmer weather is on it’s way, hopefully for good this time! Now on today’s card, but before I get to that one small piece of business to take care of. Stampin’ Up! released their Retired Stamp Sets List today. It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be! Some of my favorites are staying like French Foliage and Creative Elements. I will be sad to see Fox & Friends and Young Vermillion go but they make way for a bounty of new sets to let us unleash a new chapter of our creativity!  To see a the list of Retired Stamp Sets CLICK HERE.

Now on to today’s card. The Corner Catcher was featured in last month’s Stampin’ Success Magazine and I love them. Mary Fish had a great idea to make a card with one on the corner and here is one of my takes on her idea. I started with a base of Real Red and added a background stamped in Real Red on Crumb Cake Card Stock with the Creative Elements Stamp Set. Using some Basic Grey I Punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and used some Mini Glue Dots to adhere them to the background. The Corner Catcher is made with the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. To make it you start with a piece of card stock that is 4″ x 4″ and you score it diagonally at 2″ on one side in opposite directions and fold. I cut out a triangle to go on the back side to hide the seam. All you have to do after that is embellish it. I used First Edition Designer Series Paper and stamped another image from Creative Elements in Riding Hood Red. Using a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the same background that I used on the card and then stamped a letter from the Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp Set in Basic Grey and punched it out with the Curly Label Punch. That is mounted to a piece of Crumb Cake that is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop circle and then adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and used a piece of Riding Hood Red Ribbon from the Clearance Rack to finish it off. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is also stamped in Riding Hood Red and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you are inspired by the card and that you are looking forward to seeing all of the new products in the upcoming catalog. Thanks of stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Matchbook Post-It Holders

Good morning and happy Friday to you all. I am so glad that the weekend is so close at hand! For today’s post I somewhat cased a project from this month’s Stampin’ Success. That’s the magazine that Stampin’ Up! sends out to us Demonstrators every month. It’s packed with tips, projects and suggestions for your business. I love it and look forward to it all the time. The Workshop project this month is Post-It holder matchbooks. I love when you can make something that is so simple but looks so nice and serves a purpose. The first one that I made is the butterfly one. I used Crumb Cake Card Stock for the base. The butterfly is from the Butterfly Prints Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum on Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the Butterfly Punch to punch it out and then stamped the sentiment and the antennae on the So Saffron Card Stock. I used a Neutrals Collection Brad to secure it and then mounted it on some Perfect Plum Card Stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch along the bottom lip and placed a piece of So Saffron 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) around it. The flowers are punched out using the Boho Blossoms Punch and fastened with another brad. For the second one I used Real Red Card Stock for the base. The stamped image is from the Easy Events Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Ink. I used an eye shadow applicator (like a mini sponge dauber!) to shade in the tree and grass with Lucky Limeade Ink. I then colored in the heart with Real Red and the trunk with Soft Suede Markers. The backing is Lucky Limeade and that is adhered to piece of Soft Suede that I ran through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The lip of this one is punched using the Eyelet Border Punch. I punched out a piece of Lucky Limeade with the Scallop Oval Punch and placed some Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon round it. I’m loving these little matchbooks and they would make great gifts for co-workers or just about anybody! Thanks you so much for stopping by and have an awesome Friday!

Mojo 236

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! I’m very happy today because I’m going to pick my parents up from the airport. They have been in London visiting my mom’s family. I was bummed that I didn’t get to go but I’ll be glad to have them back, I’ve missed them! Today I’m posting my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. This weeks sketch is…

I wanted to do a happy spring card and what better to use than the new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (Pre-Order). It has one of my favorite colors in it, Island Indigo and that’s what I used for my card base. I took a piece of Whisper White and adhered three different coordinating patterns of the Summer Smooches DSP to it. Then I took a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon and wrapped that around the front. I used the trusty fork method to tie my bow and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot. The image is form the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) and is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock and I tied a piece of Island Indigo Bakers Twine through one of the Brights Collection Buttons and adhered that with a Mini Glue Dot. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and too is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle Punch to punch out some Daffodil Delight to mount the stamped image on. I can’t help but smile when I look at the card. It’s nice, simple and happy. Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Foliage Pocket Card

Good morning! I hope that everyone got through Monday ok. Mine was a bit challenging but I survived! Today’s card uses what I think is safe to say is my favorite stamp set, French Foliage. I love the detail and the depth in the stamps and the fact that it all looks so great together. This card is also not your average everyday card, it’s a pocket card. Essentially it’s a card front with a pocket on it to slide the message into. I started with a base of Early Espresso. I added a piece of Cajun Craze Card Stock to that. The pocket is quite simple to make using your Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I used a piece of Crumb Cake cut to 4 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. I scored it on the short side at 1/2″ and 4″. I turned it 90 degrees and scored it on the long side at 4″. On the longer piece I cut off the outside scored pieces and used the 3/16″ Corner Rounder to round the inside flaps and the top. A line of Sticky Strip on each reaming flap and a fold and the pocket is finished. I stamped the images from the French Foliage Stamp Set in Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso on Very Vanilla Card Stock. Three Silver Mini Brads were added and then that was then adhered to another piece of Early Espresso Card Stock and mounted to the front of the pocket. I used the Round Tab Punch to make the pull for the piece that slides in. To finish off the card I placed a piece of Early Espresso 1/8″ Ribbon across the bottom and tied it off. I think that it’s a nice change from the everyday card and hope that you like it too. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Tempting Tango Birthday

Hello everyone and happy Easter Sunday! I hope that you are having a nice time with your family and friends today. I will see my daughter, brother and his fiancé later on. Today’s card is a simple Saturday card. It’s easy to make and not cluttered at all. I have been meaning to use the Pennants Builder Punch and the Pennant Parade Stamp set for a while. The base of the card is Tempting Turquoise. I used the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock for the background. I stamped some Tempting Turquoise with the same color ink and some Tangerine Tango, also with the same color ink, from the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and punched them out with the Pennants Builder Punch. I stamped wish big in the same two colors and punched them out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them on the pennants. I “hung” a pice of White Bakers Twine across the card and adhered the pennants with more Stampin’ Dimensionals along it. The greeting is from the Party This Way Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise, it’s mounted on a piece of Tangerine Tango and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. It’s a nice colorful easy birthday card and would make a great workshop card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day! 🙂
