Happy Birthday Taylor

Hello all of you people out there! It’s Friday and Easter Weekend! I hope that you all have some plans to spend time with family this weekend. As I promised yesterday here is my daughter Taylor’s birthday card. She really likes anchors and ships and more blues and grays so there are no frills or flowers on this card. I started with a base of Not Quite Navy and I took a piece of Baja Breeze and ran it through my Big Shot using the Perfect Details Texturz Plates. The nautical images are from The Open Sea Stamp Set and are stamped in Not Quite Navy and Basic Grey. The whale is from the Fox & Friends Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Grey, I think it adds a little whimsy to the card. The whale and anchor are backed by Not Quite Navy and the ship is backed with Basic Grey and has three Neutrals Collection 3/16″ Brads in the upper right corner. The greeting is from the Party This Way Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and is punched out with the Word Window Punch. I used the daughter stamp from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and placed some more Basic Grey behind it and a piece of First Edition Designer Series Paper on top of some Not Quite Navy. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to help prop up the easel part of the card. Taylor loved her card and I hope that you like it too! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Mojo 235

Good morning peeps! I hope that you are having a nice week so far. Today is my daughter Taylor’s 16th birthday! I am a very lucky dad to have such a wonderful child! Happy Birthday Taylor. I’ll be posting her card tomorrow, sometimes she actually stops texting to read my blog! Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. They have given us this sketch to work with…

I really do love making my Mojo card each week. For this weeks card I decided to use the new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set. I started with a base of Tangerine Tango and I added a piece os the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper. I took my Scallop Edge Border Punch and punched one side of a piece of Tempting Turquoise. The layer over that is a piece of Rich Razzleberry that I ran through my trusty Big Shot with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Another piece of Tempting Turquoise and Designer Series paper is cut out with the Circle Scissor Plus and mounted on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I markered two images from the Bright Blossoms Stamp Sets in Tempting Turquoise, Lucky Limeade and Real Red and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and put some Stampin’ Dimensionals under that too. I hand cut the flagged piece of Daffodil Delight and another piece of Designer Series paper and that too has some Stampin’ DImensionals. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. For the finishing touch I cut a sliver of Whisper white and threaded it through the Brights Designer Series button and glued that on with some Mini Glue Dots. I love the bright cheery colors and the great variety of Designer Series Paper that comes with the Summer Smooches Collection. Thank you so much for dropping by and enjoy your day! 🙂

Paper Players #89

Good morning and happy Hump Day to you all. I am missing the warmer weather here on Long Island and can’t wait for it to return. Today’s card is for the Paper Players Challenge # 89. They have asked us to make a funny card…

I have to admit that I was a little stumped as to what to do. I have never been a fan of funny cards, I like the pretty mushy ones the best. I thought about what card to make for a long time, and then it dawned on me, so many people joke about getting married as being the end of your life so why not send a sympathy card! The base of the card is Early Espresso, it is cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 1/4 and 5 1/2 with another piece cut to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 for the front making it an easel card (thanks Sandy!). The background is made using the Big Shot and the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 Embossing Plates with Very Vanilla Card Stock. The greeting is from Petite Pairs and is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch and then mounted to a piece of Calypso Coral at 1 1/2″ and then to a piece of Early Espresso cut to 1 3/4″. The cake if from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and so is the greeting on the bottom. The cake was cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some of the 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon from Sale-A-Bration to decorate the cake. The Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provides the backdrop and that was then mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the flowers and put some Basic Jewels Pearls on them. The lower greeting is punched out with the Word Window Punch and placed on a piece of Calypso Coral punched out with the Large Oval Punch and then a piece of Early Espresso punced out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and then placed on a piece of Calypso Coral and adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals to keep the easel part of the card standing up. Two more pieces of 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon, one across the top and one across the bottom complete the card. I hope that you enjoyed it and found it to be little funny, my married friends did! Wisteria Pool Party Vogue Thank You

Good morning and happy Saturday to everyone! I’m off to the city again today to drop off some more Stampin’ Up! orders. What kind of fun things are you guys up to this weekend? For today’s card I was asked to make a Thank You card for a friend of mine that lives in Missouri, Dawn. The card uses the Note Card and Envelope Set in Whisper White. I used a plain piece of Wisteria Wonder for the Background. The images are from the set Vintage Vogue and are stamped in Wisteria Wonder. The large flower is cut out and mounted over the smaller stamped flowers with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A piece of Silver Glimmer Paper is punched out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. and adhered to the middle of the flower. The greeting is from Curly Verses and is also stamped in Wisteria Wonder. They are all backed with Pool Party and adhered to card with SNAIL. For a great finishing touch I used a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon across the middle. I also stamped one of the small flowers on the front corner of the envelope. Vintage Vogue Concord Bride

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is just a few hours away! My good friend Angie from Blue Springs Missouri had her fist Workshop tonight and I attended it via FaceTime! You gotta love Apple and modern technology! 🙂 For today’s card I wanted to make a very feminine pretty birthday card. I used some Concord Crush for the base of the card. I took a piece of Very Vanilla and used the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set to make a background randomly stamped in Blushing Bride. I stamped some more images from the set in Concord Crush and cut out the flower image with my Paper Snips and used the Ticket Corner Punch on the F image. I stamped the Happiest Birthday from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) in Concord Crush and used the Ticket Corner Punch on that too. They are both mounted on Concord Crush Card Stock and all of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the perfect finishing touch I used a Twitterpated Designer Button in Blushing Bride on the cut out flower image. Simple Sympathy

Hello there people and welcome to Thursday. Only one more day until the weekend! Today’s card is a card that no one likes to have to make, the sympathy card. It’s always a sad time but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be beautiful and simple. I started with a card base of Baja Breeze and to that I added a piece of So Saffron that I ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. The image is from the Love & Sympathy Stamp Set and is stamped in Baja Breeze on Whisper White Card Stock. I choose the greeting from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set and that too is stamped in Baja Breeze and both are mounted on Baja Breeze Card Stock. A piece of  So Saffron 3/16″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon from the  Elementary Ribbon Originals on the Clearance Rack finishes off the card. A-maze-ing Baja Birthday

Happy Wednesday morning to all of you! Its mid-week which means we are halfway there! For today’s card I finally used some items that I purchased from the Occasions Mini Catalog a while ago. The base of the card is Chocolate Chip. I took a piece of Baja Breeze Card Stock and stamped it with the Woodgrain Background Wood Mount Stamp in Chocolate Chip. The cool little Maze Game is backed with a stamp from the Totally Amazing Stamp Set also stamped in Chocolate Chip and is punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. For a little more detail there is a piece of cheese in the middle that was stamped in More Mustard. I used some Glue Dots and Tombo to adhere it to the card. I stamped the mouse image in Chocolate Chip and punched it out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and backed it with a piece of Chocolate Chip punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The top greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes (Host(ess)) and the lower greeting is also from the Totally Amazing Stamp Set. I think the idea of a maze game on the front of a card is fun. When you send this out  I would use one of the padded envelopes just to make sure that it arrives in one piece! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope your Monday was a good one, mine was ok. For today’s card I give you this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge…

I decided that I would use some of the Sale-A-Bration items before they are gone. The base of my card is Lucky Limeade. I added three strips of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration) for my background. The stamps are from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) and are stamped in Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait for the center images and the stamp image is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I backed the center image with Pool Party and the stamp image is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch and backed by a piece of Peach Parfait that punched out with the 1 3/8″ Square Punch. I adhered the center image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the set Fabulous Phrases and is stamped in Lucky Limeade and mounted on some Poppy Parade. For the finishing touch I placed 3 Basic Jewels Rhinestones on the three outside stamped flower images. I love the Mojo Challenge and hope you like the card. Paper Players #88

A good Monday morning to you. I hope that you all had a nice weekend. As I mentioned yesterday, I went to see Rent and it was great! Thanks to My friend Kim, my daughter and I had a great afternoon! For this weeks Paper Players Challenge Ann has provided this sketch…

I always like to work with a sketch because it makes most of the work, the card layout, so much easier because it’s done for you. As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I used one of my favorite sets, French Foliage. The base of the card is Early Espresso and I used a piece of Well Worn Designer Series Paper for the background. I placed three 3/16″ Metallic Brads in the lower left corner, two in the brownish color and one in the aged silver color just to be a little different. I then stamped a piece of Very Vanilla with the En Français Background Wood Mount Stamp in Early Espresso Ink. I punched a piece of Cajun Craze with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and placed it underneath. The piece of ribbon across the front is Early Espresso 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon. After all of that was assembled I adhered it to the card with some Sticky Strip (I like to make sure that it’s not going anywhere!). The stamped images are from the French Foliage Stamp Set and are stamped in Cajun Craze and River Rock and I backed it with some Early Espresso. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and half of it is hidden behind the stamped images. Enchanted Label Fancy Fold

Good morning and happy Saturday! It’s the weekend so that means I get to spend some quality time with my stamps today! I have a bunch of cards to make and I’m looking forward to a nice creative afternoon. For today’s card I was looking around on Stampin’ Connection, one of the perks of being a Demonstrator, and I came across this tutorial for using the Framelits Labels Dies (Occasions Mini) in a new way. A Demonstrator by the name of Cristy Butzen posted the card. I changed the mechanics of the card a little to make it open a little differently. The base of the card is an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I scored it at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ with my Simply Scored. Using my Big Shot I put the card stock on the cutting plate and lined the Labels Collection Framelit on the center 2 1/8″ score line. Then I slid the other cutting plate into the Big Shot and lined the edge of it up with the 2 1/8″ score line and ran it through. Doing this only cuts out the piece that is under the cutting plate. It is then folded along the score lines and ready to embellish. I used Pool Party cut out with the same size label die and a piece of Very Vanilla cut out with one size smaller. I stamped the tea cup in Calypso Coral and markered the pansy in Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set (Occasions Mini). The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is also stamped in Calypso Coral. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line everything up. A piece of Calypso Coral Card Stock was punched along one side with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. To that I added two lengths of Calypso Coral 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack (Sale-A-Bration). The stamped piece was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Inside I used some of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration) and another Label cut out in Very Vanilla. I love the mechanics of the card and it makes for a nice change from the traditional. Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to stop and have a look. Have a great Saturday!
