SIP Challenge 45 – Welcome Baby!

Another interesting day for me in Manhattan! I took the same train that I always do but decided to mix things up a bit and take the Subway from Jamaica Station. Thankfully I got a seat because there were some delays and it took just over an hour. There was also some guy on the train that was singing and dancing around for no good reason. It’s a little crowded in the mornings on the Subway to share your “talents” or lack there of! LOL! I was by myself until 2:00 when Mary came in. A Stampin’ Up! Demo from Wisconsin by the name of Melynn Long stopped by and we had a very nice visit! I made the 7:11 train and stopped by my parents for a bologna sandwich before coming home and wondering on my projects for the evening. Today I’ll be back at The Ink Pad with Barbara and the second Hand-lettering Class so I’ll be at the store until at least 9:30. I enjoyed sitting in on the class last time so I’m sure that it will be fun again!

It’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge time and this week we have a Welcome Baby Theme…

SIP Theme 45 800

I had a pram exactly like that when I was a baby! My card is a very non-traditional one! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Curved Edge Die to cut off the lower right of the card front. The background is a piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper also cut with the Curved Edge Die and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I die cut a tag from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord through the top. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My fun pickle jar and greeting are from the Unity Stamp Co. In a Pickle Stamp Set. I stamped the pickle jar in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color them in. A nice thick coating of Glossy Accents is applied over the “glass” to make it look nice and real! The jar is adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and then the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black in the lower right on the card inside. I think that it’s a nice funny congrats for an expectant mum! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the clever Design Team has come up with to inspire you! Don’t forget to share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today! Have a superdelicious Tuesday! 🙂

Slide Frame Floral Thinking of You

The two longest days of the week are over! Manhattan was just lovely once again, sunny and really warm! I got in early and went for a walk over to the Apple Store on 14th Street to have a look round. After I was finished I went back to The Ink Pad and finally caught up on my comments! I feel so much better! Barbara and I had a good day, we cycled between having the door open and the air conditioner on! I got the same train out to Babylon as I did yesterday and Brian was waiting at the station for me. We had Taco Bell for dinner and class was fun once again! When I got home I had a cup of coffee and then ran over to see my friend Louis for a bit. I got back to my house around 11:45 and made my card for today. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to spend the day with Barbara! YAY!

I really liked using the Fresh Cut Florals Set so I decided to use it again. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The photo frame is from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Memory Planner Collection and is adhered to the card with Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive. I die cut all of my flowers and leaves using the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Dies and then stamped them with Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Hot Mama, Jellybean and Green Apple Ink using the Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped on a strip of Solar White 80lb in Onyx Black. I adhered it to the card over the frame with Foam Tape. After arranging my flowers and leaves I picked them up with Press n Seal and added Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape to the back and then adhered them over the frame too. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added for some sparkle and the card is done! I really do love that W Plus 9 set and I can’t believe how long it has taken me to use it! I hope that you enjoy today’s card! Thanks for stopping by and have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Oh yes, it’s Friday! Yesterday was a long day! LOL! I took the 8:12 train into Manhattan. I had to run up to 72nd Street and pick up some books for Anna and bring them back to the store. I stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got some cupcakes to give as a thank you for them. After I retrieved the books I headed down to The Ink Pad. Barbara and I had another nice day and the weather was just beautiful! We had sushi for lunch and a little treat of some Pinkberry in the afternoon! I got the 4:56 train out to Babylon and Andrew picked me up at the station. We stopped at Wendy’s and grabbed some dinner. Class was loads of fun like always! Danielle drove me home and we chatted for a bit. I came into the house and sat down to make my card for today and then I was more than ready for bed! I get to do it all over again! Hopefully everything goes smoothly again!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Before I get to today’s card I want to thank Narelle for choosing me as the King of Clean for her wonderful sketch from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Sometimes something that has been sitting on my desk for a while sparks the entire card! My base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Ivory 110lb and stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Encore Gold Metallic Ink and then coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. It’s then cut out with the large banner from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tucked one of the flowers from the The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Dies that I colored with my FineTec Metallic Watercolors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the for everything in more Encore Gold Metallic and coated it with some more Clear Embossing Powder. The Thanks is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and adhered to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the flower in the Gold and the Woodgrain Stamped in the Gold and heat embossed is so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I have been behind on my comments and I apologize for that but I intend to catch up today! I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 191

No matter how long the day is as long as it’s in Manhattan it’s a good day! The Ink Pad was great as always! Anna and I had a nice productive day, we got lots of stuff entered and put away. I stayed late because there was a class, Handlettering taught a very talented young lady named Caitlyn. She has an Etsy shop if you want to take a look at some of her work you can find it HERE. Kim came by the store and we had Noodles for dinner, she is off to Missouri this morning, I’ll really miss her this week seeing as I’m going to be in the city a lot! By the time I got home it was 10:45. Taylor was there with Kiera keeping Winston company. I sat down and made a card and relaxed a for bit. Ready to do it all over again tomorrow! 🙂

So it’s Wednesday right?! LOL! That means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS191 DT Sketch 4-20-2016

I have really been enjoying the look of White Pigment Ink on Kraft Card Stock especially with another ink color stamped over it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Mossy Meadow onto the base for my background. The circle is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. My greeting is stamped onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink using the A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount Stamp. My flower and leaves are stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and they are from the Hero Arts For you Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the second layer of the leaves in Forever Green Ink and the second layer of the flower in Grape Juice. The flower is cut out with my Scissors and both the flower and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give the card a little shine. That Hero Arts For you Flowers is definitely becoming one of my favorite Color Layering Sets! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has come ups with to inspire you and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and partaking in my busy week! SIP Challenge 44 – Inspiration!

Yes, we had one absolutely lovely day here yesterday! It was in the high 70’s and indeed I was out in the car with the top down and the music turned up nice and loud! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea and got a few things accomplished. I left the house around 12:00 and I had a quick lunch with Bill. From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish the cards for this week’s class. It was nice because Renee’s son Nick was there so I got to catch up with him! When I got back home I had some dinner with my parents and then spoke with Anna from The Ink Pad. Her dad passed away and my heart goes out to her and her family. She has to go to Taiwan for the services so I’m going to help out at the store for the next week. It’s going to be a very very busy week! Let’s see if I can get everything done! 🙂

Tuesday and we have another fun challenge for you over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

SIP 44 Lighthouse Inspiration 800

That is actually the Fire Island Light House not too far from me here on Long Island! I went with a nautical feel for my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Real Red. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut it out. For my shaker I also used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Acetate. The top panel has a circle cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink from the Simon Says Stamp Naughty Nautical Photopolymer Stamp Set. My back panel has some Tide Pool Ink applied with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Die and the Stitched Circles. I stamped the sailboat from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Ombre Ink again and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Some Foam Tape is applied to the back of the front panel in a double layer and I added Seed Beads and Sequins before adhered the backing. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I probably could have put a little less shaker bits inside but the seed beads make a fun noise and keep the sequins from getting stuck! I also think that greeting is really neat! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Don’t forget to visit the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see what you make so be sure to share it with us in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂

Masked Vintage Roses

Nice weather here again yesterday! Sunny and warm, still could be warmer but I’ll take it! I didn’t do very much yesterday, I slept which was actually nice. I did get some crafty time but not as much as I would have liked! My parent’s went to Pennsylvania yesterday and they brought back some really good old fashioned donuts! Last night I got to catch up with Michael and did some more research. It’s amazing how much knowledge you can gain from the internet! Today I definitely have some projects to get finished! I will be getting up at 4:00am tomorrow morning to take Heather to the airport. She has to go to Dallas for business overnight. Could she have picked an earlier flight?! That’s going to hurt!

Last night I had the urge to do a one layer card. I haven’t done masking in a long time so I thought that I would give it a go! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Altenew Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks and the leaves in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink. I created my mask with a piece of Masking Paper and used it over and over! By the time I was finished it didn’t have any stick left to it and was covered in ink! My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped in Onyx Black and trimmed out with my Scissors. I used some Foam Tape to adhere it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, I love how they look like water on the flowers! The Altenew Crisp Inks are really nice and I can’t wait to get some more colors! I hope that you enjoyed my sort of one layer card for today! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 232

Well, the weatherman didn’t lie, it was gorgeous here yesterday! We still have a little ways to go in terms of temperatures being a little warmer but I did sit outside in the sun for a little while today and it was glorious! This morning I had one of those I don’t know where to start mornings, aren’t they the best?! I did go over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte for a little while. We had a nice little chat and I got some things to make the cards for next week’s class. Long story that we will skip! After that I hung out with Daniel and then had dinner with the fam. Today I’m hoping that it’s nice again because I want to spend some time outside! Maybe even top down warm! Fingers crossed!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 232

Wow! Is that clean and simple or what?! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The feathers are cut out using the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. I adhered some Washi Tape to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut two out from the front and one from the back so that they all wouldn’t face the same direction. They are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My strip of Vellum is coated on the bottom with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder. A thin strip of Foam Tape behind the line adheres it to the card. The greeting is a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Craft Die and adhered to the Vellum with more Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Sand Sequins and a few Queen & Co. Red Rhinestones Finishes of the card with a little bling! I love that Washi Tape and for the life of me I can’t remember where I got it! Washi problems! Must start labeling more things! LOL! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for sharing a little of your Saturday with me! Have a fantastic day! 🙂

Fab Friday 85

Another busy Thursday spent in front of the computer doing loads of research! Not that I mind it, it’s one of my favorite things to do besides crafting of course! I did get a lot accomplished and have a lot more to do but I’ll get everything in order eventually! My friend Heather went for a second opinion about her back issues and she may not have to have surgery after all! That was some good news! Daniel was at my parent’s yesterday but the poor little guy has a cold so he wasn’t in the mood for any pictures! I did have dinner with the family and then came home and tried to get some more stuff done. I know that I’m being a little cryptic about what’s going on but I’ll be able to share with you soon! Taylor and Kiera stopped by late last night. I haven’t seen Taylor all week, I said that it was nice to know that she remembered who I was! LOL! Today I have a lot of stuff to get accomplished and I hope that I can finish everything! Wish me luck!

Now for the Fab Friday Challenge! This week we have a nice sketch for you…

Fab Fri 85 4-15-2016

I had the urge to play with some watercolors again and a new Thank You stamp that I recently acquired! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in one of my all time favorite blues, Midnight Muse. Across the top half of the card are a piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock and 80lb Solar White with both ends flagged. The greeting is the Hero Arts Thank You with Flourishes Wood Mount Stamp, it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and onto some Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I taped it to a board with Blue Painter’s Tape and used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to create a wash over the image. It’s dried with my Heat Tool and then trimmed before being adhered it to a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back of the panel. I adhered a Tea Lace Paper Doily towards the bottom and then adhered my panel to the card. What’s a card without some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and a few Basic Jewels Rhinestones added in for some extra sparkle?! I do really like that nice large Thank You, I can see it making a very nice set of cards for someone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the blog and take a look at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery so we can see what you do! Thanks for taking some time out of your day to visit with me! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 290

Yes, this is the second post for today! I made my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge and I wanted to get to share it before the challenge ended! Here is this week’s challenge…

Paper Players #290

I have to admit, when I first saw these colors I was at a loss! LOL! But then I was digging around in my stash and found a set that I have had for a long time and I don’t think that I have ever used and I got an idea! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my flowers and leaves are form the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. The dies for the set are solid so you cut them first and then stamp the images. The are all stamped in Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz and Mossy Meadow. I clustered them around my sentiment banner which is from the W Plus 9 Basic Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The outline is stamped in Melon Mambo and the greeting in Rich Razzleberry. All of the leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers and banner with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Watermelon, Pumpkin and Lime Sorbet Sequins for a little bit of sparkle! I love that Fresh Cut Floras set and can’t believe that I haven’t used it before! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Sorry to bombard you with two posts! Enjoy the rest of your Thursday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Toc-Tac-Toe!

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

It was definitely a little nicer here yesterday! Warmer and sunny all day! We are supposed to get up into the 70’s over the weekend finally! My little trip to the Dr. with Brian yesterday morning was a lengthy one! We got there at 8:15 and by the time that he was finished it was 11:15! I had a nice little nap in the car so it was all good! We stopped by the deli on the way home and I had lunch with him and Kim. Once I got back to my house I managed to get a little crafting done. Heather came and got me at 4:30 so we could make a quick run to BJ’s. I had dinner with my parent’s and then headed over to Heather’s. We had a nice evening and watched some YouTube videos and a few movie trailers. Today I need to get my laundry done! It’s been three weeks! I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that I have enough clothes for three weeks to wear or to wash! LOL!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. This month we have a Tic-Tac-Toe board! Love Tic-Tac-Toe, you get a really nice variation in the projects that way!

OSAT Tic-Tac-Toe

If you have arrived here from my friend Dena’s blog welcome! I love her projects!! I have a card and a little tag for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is my card. I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base and covered that in a piece of Desert Storm 80lb. My frame is a piece of Woodgrain Card Stock from Ellen Hutson that I cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. A generous coating of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to it and then it’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My flowers are Solar White 80lb and Cucumber Crush that I cut out with The Ton Petal Cut Peonies Dies. They are all coated with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then adhered to the card. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered to the card with Tombo Vellum Adhesive. The card needed a little more sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I love that Woodgrain Card Stock, I have had it for a long time but just recently “found” it!

OSAT March 2016 Blog Hop - Card-WM

No on to the coordinating tag! The front is cut from the same Woodgrain Card Stock using the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts along with a piece of Fun Foam. The set also comes with a solid tag without the circle cutout and that’s what I used to cut out the Acetate and the backing from another piece of Desert Storm 80lb. I assembled the layers adhering them together with Scor-Tape filling in the shaker with Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Cucumber Crush that is cut out with another die form the same set. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tied a piece of Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Lawn Trimmings String though the top.
