Magnolia Thanks – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

Hello strangers! LOL! I have had the pleasure of spending a few days in Brunswick, Georgia at my friend Kim’s Sister’s house. I got out of New York just in time leaving on Thursday before the storm hit. The weather here has been lovely, sunny and in the high 60’s to low 70’s. We went to St Simon’s Island, the Okefenokee Swamp Park and Savannah. I have been taking lots of pictures and have a few to share with you…

It’s time for my March Solo Post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! I combined a few sets to make a simple card.

I started by stamping the watercolor strip from the Concord & 9th Seasonal Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set in Merman onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock down the left side. Next I stamped the wreath from the Concord & 9th Magnolia Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set in Jalapeño and Noble Fir using my Mini MISTI. It’s cut out with the Coordinating Die and adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. For my greeting I used the thanks die from the Concord & 9th Fabulous Phrases Dies to cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card and a piece of Solar White 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. To adhered it to the wreath I used Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Gold Sequins on the wreath and the card is done! I love that wreath!

Paper Craft Crew 281

Hello from foggy Long Island! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We got up into the 60’s, something we haven’t seen in a while! I made sure that in between trying to get some work done I went outside to enjoy the mild weather. So nice to not have to put a jacket on! I did manage to get a lot accomplished and finished off the evening with a Target run and a little TV. This morning I’m going to get a haircut and do some things around the house. It’s supposed to be warm again and then we are to have rain for the next four days. At least it’s not snow! 😀

I also squeezed in a card yesterday for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I used one of my all time favorite color combos and some new to me goodies! My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Concord & 9th Many Thanks Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp stamped in Merman, Peacock, Freshly Cut Grass and Hippo using my MISTI. I find that if you print out the alignment guide from the Concord & 9th web site it makes it so much easier to get a perfect image! I added the background to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of 53lb Iridescent Vellum with the corners rounded on the right. The greeting is cut from Peacock using the Concord & 9th Fabulous Phrases Dies. I added it to the vellum with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Along the bottom is another piece of Peacock cut out with the Concord & 9th Many Thanks Dies. That is added to the Vellum with 3M Foam Tape. To adhere the Vellum to the card I used Multi-Matte Medium behind the die cut and XOXO. I liked the shimmer on the Vellum so much that I decided to use my Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer Pen to add some more to the dies cuts. All that was left to do was to round the right side corners of the card and done! I forgot that I had the Vellum and I love the way it add some shimmer and tones down the background but you can still see it! Fab Friday 131

And a happy Friday to you! I was over watching Daniel and Tristan again yesterday. Tristan has given up on her naps, maybe she just likes to spend time with me?! LOL! We had fun as always, she is such a smart little girl! After work Jim came by and we had a little dinner and watched TV. Nice to relax for a bit! This morning I have a lot of computer stuff to get finished and a little cleaning and laundry to do. Not sure what’s on for the weekend but hopefully something fun will materialize! 😀

It’s time once again for a Fab Friday challenge…

I do enjoy a nice simple sketch! Onto my card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of patterned paper from the Pebbles Yours Truly 6×6 Paper Pad down the right side flagging the bottom. My ampersand is from the January 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit and is cut from apiece of Classic Cherry. I added some sparkle with my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to bring out the detail, you can see it much better in real life! It’s adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. My you and me is from the stamp set in the Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto more Classic Cherry. I cut them out and added them to card with more 3M Foam Tape. A few of the sequins from the Kit are added and the card is done! Nice and simple, a good way to spread a little love anytime of the year! Paper Craft Crew 280

Wow! It’s Wednesday already?! Where has this week gone?! Monday I had the Kiddos and Tristan decided that she wanted to skip her nap! By the time my Brother got home she was cranky! Not gonna lie, I was happy to get to leave! Yesterday I ran into Manhattan to see my friends Jon and Mary. I had a little Penn Station pizza for lunch before heading back out to the island. My Mum is in a lot of pain, she is allergic to all pain killers apparently, that just is not good! She is doing well with her physical therapy and she gets her staples out this week, hopefully that will help. Oh, Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I hope that you get to spend some quality time with your love no matter who that is! I have a bunch pf computer stuff to get through today along with some laundry and a little cleaning. How romantic! LOL! 😀

It’s time once again for a new Paper Craft Crew sketch…

I have been wanting to use a new to me set that I picked up at The Ink Pad last week when I was there! I started by stamping some leaves from the Neat & Tangled Calathea Photopolymer Stamp Set in Merman, Minty Fresh, Peacock and Freshly Cut Grass onto some Solar White 80lb. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I then stamped more onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added the die cut leaves with 3M Foam Tape and and stamped my greeting in Peacock onto a strip of Solar White 80lb. That is added across the leaves with a few Little Things by Lucy Shimmer Pool Accents. A nice simple card using some of my favorite colors! Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Watercolor!

Ahh… Friday! I haven’t see you guys since Wednesday and it seems like forever!  My time at The Ink Pad was fun as always, I miss being at the store and if it wasn’t so expensive I would definitely go in more often! Wednesday night Jim came by for dinner and we watched the Mummy with Tom Cruise. I watched Daniel & Tristan yesterday, Tristan was a little bit of a beast but we all have our off days right?! Last night I assembled a power wheels motorcycle for a friend’s son’s birthday and finished off my evening by watching a few episodes of Altered Carbon. Not sure how I feel about it yet! This morning I have a bunch of flyers to do for Jim and some more odds and ends to get finished. 😀

It’s one of my favorite times of the month! Time for a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th blog…

I haven’t watercolored in ages! I decided to something simple and I forgot how much I like the results! Onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card I applied some clean water and then used the red from the Gansai Tambi Set. I need to remember to get a hard board to tape the watercolor card to, from what I have seen it really helps keep it nice and flat while you work on it! My impatience led me to use my Heat Tool to speed up the drying and then I ran the paper through my Big Shot to flatten it. It’s adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. For the greeting I used the L O V E from the Concord & 9th Love You So Die Set and cut it out twice, once from Black 110lb and then from Tropical Sea. They are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium, I added the black and then offset the teal. The card needed a little sparkle so I pulled out my Little Things by Lucy Shimmering Pool Mix Jewels and added a few randomly around the greeting! A very simple way to add watercolor to your card! I love the dark edges and variation in color!

SIP Challenge 135 – All You Need is Love!

And I woke up to some snow this morning! What a wonderful way to start the day! NOT! I did have a fun weekend! Saturday I hung out with Heather for a while. We ran errands and had lunch. Sunday Jim came over and we continued the great purge of my apartment. He is definitely the king of getting rid of stuff! With his assistance I managed to donate six boxes to good will and threw out nine bags of trash! It’s always easier to clean and purge when you have help, wouldn’t you agree?! Yesterday I went over and watched Daniel and Tristan. I’ll be back over there on Thursday too! My Mum is having double knee replacement surgery today so her and my Dad won’t be able to watch the kids for a while. I’m happy to pitch in until Mum is able to watch them again. She is very nervous but I’m sure that everything will be fine. 😀

My first post for this week’s is for the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

Just in time for Valentine’s Day!! I kept things simple! Onto my card base of Grey 110lb Card Stock I stamped the heart from the Concord & 9th Cuddles & Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hippo using my Mini MISTI just in case I had to stamp it again! I find myself using my MISTI a lot, it’s nice to have a little safety net so to speak! Next I used the Concord & 9th Hearts and Love Dies. The solid one with the outline is cut from Black 110lb and the thin one from Gold Mirror Card. I added Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to the back and added them to the card. I still love my sequins, a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold ones did the trick for today! I do love that love die, so many different ways that you can use it! SIP Challenge 134 – Colors!

TGIF peeps! I have had a busy week, sorry for being MIA again! Tuesday I had the kiddies, always a good time! Wednesday I went into Manhattan to see Anna, I’m going to be helping her out with some things for the store which will be fun! I miss my store and have always loved The Ink Pad. It will be good to get involved and crafty again! Jim came by in the evening and we watched some TV. Yesterday I was just busy with all sorts of things all day so last night I needed a little more down time and that resulted in a trip to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday! Taylor came by too! This morning I’m off to get my haircut and then lots more stuff to get finished! Not quite sure what’s on for the weekend yet but hopefully it will be fun! 😀

While I was at The Ink Pad I picked up a die that I have wanted for a while and I had to use it on my card! The die is the Hero Arts A Bit of Handmade Kindness Fancy Die and I cut it out from some Gold Mirror Card. My roses and leaves are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Pink, Quartz and Raspberry Jam and the leaves in Moss and Lime Green. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and added to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with E-Z Runner and 3M Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is adhered with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive in the upper right. It needed some more sparkle so I added Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins around the flowers cluster. A little bunch of roses along with that greeting is sure to brighten someones day don’t you think?! Paper Craft Crew 276

Hey there! Happy Hump Day! We were supposed to get snow this morning but it’s raining instead and will turn to snow for a few hours before it stops. Still over the Winter! I had a busy day day yesterday dealing with little issues here and there. Why does everything happen all at once?! I’m sure that it’s the same for all of us but boy one thing goes sideways and everything else follows! I should have it all under control today, positive thinking right?! I did go over to Jim’s last night and we got his Mom’s den all put back together. Check that project off of the list. This morning I’m off to watch the kiddies! Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday! 😀

I received the My Monthly Hero Kit yesterday so I used that for my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the Love from the Set in Soft Pink and Red Royal using my Mini MISTI. In the upper left and lower right are pieces of Galvanized Curious Metallic Card that I cut out with one of the Dies from the Kit. They are adhered with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. There is a fun pack of Sequins included and I could resist adding some, they give it just the right amount of sparkle! I do really like that Love with the layering, so neat and different! SIP Challenge 133 – Sketch!

Well, that was a quick Monday! I did a few things around the house in the morning and then went out with Heather to run a some errands. She made us lunch at her house, a nice salad and grilled turkey and cheese sandwich. When I got back the kids were at my Parent’s so I went and saw them for a little while. The evening was finished off with a little Hawaii Five-O on Netflix! I need the nice warm scenery! LOL! I have a few things to do this morning and then later I’ll head over to Jim’s so we can put his Mum’s den back together! 😀

Tuesday and time for a new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog…

A nice simple sketch! I pulled out my Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy Photopolymer Stamp Set and started by using my Mini MISTi to stamp the flower in  Bubble Gum, Crimson Hybrid and Raspberry Jam Ink. The coordinating Die cuts it out. Onto a piece of Solar White 80lb I stamped a stem in Moss Hybrid and cut that out with the Hero Arts Circle Infinity Dies. For my background I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Stamp in Charcoal onto a piece of Grey Card Stock. That is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the card is a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and over that I used some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhere the circle. The flower is adhered with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting its from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. That is adhered with more 3M Foam Tape to the circle. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Charcoal Sequins finish the card! Love the bold pop of red against the white and gray! Paper Players 376

Hello friends and a happy Martin Luther King Day to you! A Monday is always better when it’s a Holiday!! I had a nice weekend and hope that you all did too! On Saturday Jim and I drove up to the lake house in PA to check on the work that was done, not very happy with it so I emailed the contractor and told him what needed to be fixed. It was incredibly cold but so beautiful there! Really great to get to see the place in the winter!

We stopped and had dinner at Cracker Barrel on the way home, not as good as we had remembered! Yesterday we painted his Mother’s den a nice grayish blue color. That was an all day project, the cutting in and trim takes such a long time! Today I will be recovering from using all of those muscles that I never do! LOL! 😀

I squeezed in a quick card this morning for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Whenever I’m feeling a lack of Mojo I always grab some solid image stamps and create a stamped background. It also lets me get some more use out my neglected sets! Onto a panel of Solar White 80lb I stamped the greeting and images from the June 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit. The greeting is stamped in Charcoal and the images in Stone Wash, Lemon Yellow, Bubble Gum and Antigua. I adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon and Lemon Drop Sequins. A simple a fun card to let someone know that you are thinking of them! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thanks for starting your week off here with me!
