  • Fab Friday 63

Sweet, sweet Friday! I do love the weekend, I have a lot of projects to get through as always! Yesterday was another nice day but a bit on the chilly side. I worked on some projects last night and spoke with my peeps. It’s supposed to get warmer over the weekend so I will need to go for a ride! After work tonight I’m off to get a haircut and I’m thinking that I may do something a little different, we’ll see. I think that tonight will be a movie night too! What’s on for you guys this weekend?!

I’m over on the Fab Friday blog today for our farewell to the 2013-2015 In-Colors…

    Fab Fri 63 5-01-2015

I’m really going to miss Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe, but I have seen the new 2015-2016 In-Colors and they are pretty cool! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The front of my card is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and I used the Balloons Framelits to cut out the three balloons, overlapping them starting with the top one first. I also cut out two more balloons from Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush in the lower right corner. A piece of Window Sheet and Crisp Cantaloupe are also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. I adhered foam tape to the back of the panel and filled it with some of the 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins and some seed beads. I then adhered the Crisp Cantaloupe panel to the back and then to the card base. A piece of Strawberry Slush is cut out with the Hello You Thinlits and adhered with 2-Way Glue. I love the layered balloons and the fun shaker element! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Farewell to the 2013-2015 In-Colors! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and enter one of yours in the gallery! Thanks for taking the time to come by and see me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 142

What a nice day we had here today! Work was actually a little on the busy side but I kept sneaking outside! LOL! When the wind died down it was actually warm! My parents took Winston to get groomed today and he all sexy again! He’s also extra lovey because he really wants the bandana off, but it’s too cut to take off just yet! Oh, thank you so much for all of your blog name suggestions!! Unfortunately Taylor Made is taken, but I’ll let you know what she decides! I had a nice evening with Taylor, we ran to Target and I found some sweaters on clearance for $3.98! I had to get three of them! LOL! I also spent a little time organizing my non-Stampin’ Up! stamps and dies, I have quite a few, more than I thought! I saw something the other day that said it all started with one stamp… isn’t that the truth! Here is Winnie, it’s very hard to get him to sit still for a picture!

It’s Wednesday! That means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    PCCCS142 DT Sketch 4-29-2015

The sketch has a little bit of a collage feel to it! My card, as always, starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Daffodil Delight. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate, I remembered that I had some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in White so I took the cap off and flicked it on the Smoky Slate. Up in the right corner is a piece of “Vintage” Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape, again something that I clearly forgot that I had! My greeting is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Pear Pizzaz and cut out with the Starburst Framelits. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back and then it’s adhered to the card. A strip of Basic Gray goes across the top and I slipped one of the Hung Up Cute Clips over it. Down in the lower left is one of the Essentials Wooden Elements. Across that is a piece of Basic Gray and some stars from the Hooray it’s Your Day Card Kit. To finish of the card I scattered some sequins from Ellen Hutson, Hazel & Ruby and Pretty Pink Posh. I love the colors, I have been quite the Pear Pizzaz fan lately! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog to see some inspiration from the rest of our Design Team and enter your project in the gallery! Thanks for your visit today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • Can You Case It #67 – The Mother’s Day Edition!

I can’t believe that it’s Sunday already! Slow down weekend, please! LOL! The weather here started out at 36 degrees but made it up into the high 50’s and it was sunny so that was nice! I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning while I Skyped with Eva and made a card or two. Daniel was over at my parents so I went and spent some time with the little guy. We shared some cheese and a Hershey Kiss, shh… don’t tell mum! LOL! Around 1:00pm I had a hankering for a drive so I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte and had lunch with Angie and Renee. We had some Panera and I hung out there for a while and chatted with the peeps that were doing the crop there. Scrapbookers are hard core! Those ladies are there from 8:00am until 10:00pm!! Whoa! After, I came home and relaxed, and that was nice!

Sunday’s are Can You Case It days and I’m pleased to introduce you to my last two team members! They have been on the team for a while but I have claimed them for my own! LOL!

    CYCI #67

I got a fun new die from Simon Says Stamp and just had give it a test run! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is some of the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper. I took a piece of Blushing Bride and used the Simon Says Stamp Umbrella Shaker Die to cut the window out. Some Window Sheet is adhered to the back and Foam Tape surrounds the edges. The frame and handle are also cut out with the die from Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy, they are adhered with some Multi-Purpose Glue. I filled the shaker portion with sequins and seed beads and adhered the panel to the card. Some More sequins are scattered across the card. My greeting is cut from Lost Lagoon using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Die and also adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. I love that you can see the DSP through the umbrella! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Can You Case It challenge! Hmm… what day is it?! Why I believe that it’s Friday!! And it’s a very good Friday, if all goes according to plan I will have my nice shiny new Apple Watch in my hands later on today! I can’t wait to see all of the neat things that it does! Yesterday was chilly, sort of March like! Umm… Spring… where did you get to?! LOL! After I had dinner I came home and worked on my card while FaceTiming with Michael. He suggested some Blackberry Bliss on today’s card and I wanted Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe! You’ll have to ket me know what you think of those colors! I have a sweet little picture of Daniel to share with you. Yesterday was St. George’s Day in England so Erika put him in his little England shirt!

    Daniel England

Just when you think that he can’t get any cuter! I am little biased though!

Now for the rest on today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

    PPA 249

Yes, the base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I ran a piece of the PinkFresh Studios Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape down the left side. My panel is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is one of my favorites from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Mum and You’re Amazing Dies cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The words are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh, Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins finish the card. I actually really do like the Blackberry Bliss with the Pistachio and Cantaloupe! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Thanks for visiting and have a Apple Watch kind of happy Friday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 183

Another pretty nice day here! It was sunny and a bit windy yesterday up until 4:00pm when it started to rain. We are supposed to be back in the 50’s for the next week or so. No more top down in the car for a while! I had a nice evening last night. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then FaceTimed with Michael for a while too. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, always love to see her and we are going to get together for dinner soon. The best news ever, my Apple Watch that said it wouldn’t ship until June, I got the notification that it will be here tomorrow!! WOO HOO!! I cannot wait! Tomorrow is Friday!! I have another busy weekend ahead but it’s a lot of fun stuff so it’s all good! What’s going on in your neck of the woods?!

The project that I worked on last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 183

I decided to do a nice clean earthy card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Brushed Gold with a thin strip of Early Espresso in the middle. My panel is a piece of Watercolor Paper. All of the images and greeting are from the An Open Heart Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow and watercolored. I added some Cherry Cobbler to the berries. For the bird I stamped him in Early Espresso and watercolored him too adding some Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler. The panel is backed with some Mossy Meadow. My greeting is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and wrapped around the back. I then adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love stamping the images and then using a wet brush to pull the ink and watercolor them! I also love the kraft with the gold! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you very much for taking a little time to stop by and see me today! Have an formidable Thursday! 🙂

A lovely rainy and foggy day here on Long Island yesterday. It was really windy in the morning but not too cold, it did do the misty rain thing all day though. April showers bring May flowers right?! I did have a good day yesterday. Work was pretty quiet and after I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Taylor and lock up. I had a little Skype time with Andrea at the store, spoke with Michael, had a quick dinner when I got home and Skyped with Eva too. Tonight I’m back at Scrap-A-Latte for Angie’s Tags class. I’m looking forward to just going there and enjoying creating! I’ll try to take some pictures of the tags that we make and post them tomorrow. As promised, here are some pictures from Friday’s card class!

    Mojo394

Seeing as the retired list comes out today I thought that maybe I should use up some of the Designer Series Paper that I have been hoarding! LOL! The card base, as usual, is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Gray. My background is a piece of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper and on the right is a piece of Brushed Silver Metallic. A piece of Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. I covered a piece of Basic Black with some Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and adhered that to the background. A piece of Basic Gray is embossed with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting and feathers are from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Encore Silver Metallic on Basic Black and punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. It’s adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The feathers are heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some SNAIL Holds them in place. A few Simon Says Stamp Sparkle & Shine Sequins complete the card. I love all of the silver and gray tones on the card and the feathers are still one of my faves! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Thank you so much for you visit today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  • Control Freaks April Blog Tour

    freakwelcome2013

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is Time to Celebrate! It’s always nice to acknowledge someone for an accomplishment or even just for a special day don’t you think?! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the talented Connie Babbert’s blog, she had some great projects didn’t she?! Today, I have three cards, two congratulations and one Mother’s Day so lets get to them!

The first card that I made is a wedding card. I don’t know why but I have been stuck on weddings lately! The card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I heat embossed the Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the top. The greeting and the cake are from my new favorite set the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the cake on Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then used my Paper Snips to cut it out. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The Congrats is also heat embossed but this time with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and yes, I fussy cut it out too! It took a little time but I think that the end result is well worth it! I adhered both parts of the greeting to the card with some Clear Foam Tape. To finish off the card I adhered some Champagne Sequins in the lower right. I love all of the different textures of gold on the card and I really do think that the greeting looks fabulous cut out!!

CF April Blog Tour Congrats Card-WM

CF April Blog Tour Congrats Card Close-WM

My next card is also a Congratulations card but I think this one would work for just about any occasion! The card base for this card is Whisper White Card Stock. I took a piece of Basic Black and embossed it with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to to the card with SNAIL. My two tags are created buy punching the top of a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and some Vellum that I heat embossed the greeting from the Bravo Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. The two tags are tied together at the top with some black twine from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit. I punched out a star from some more Silver Glimmer Paper with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and adhere it to the greeting and hid a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional behind it to keep the tags together. Finally some wood stars from the Hooray it’s Your Day Project Kit are adhered to the background with Multi-Purpose Glue. A fun card with some earthy sparkle to it!

CF April Blog Tour Congrats Tag Card-WM

Finally I have a simple Mother’s Day card. The card base for this one is also Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out multiple different pieces of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper pack. I also stamped some images form the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss and punched them out with the 1″ Circle Punch. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. My greeting is from another Paper Pumpkin Kit from last year and is stamped in Rose Red and then again with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Photopolymer Stamps make it nice and easy to line up the greeting and get perfect coverage! Finally I used a piece of Blackberry Bliss and flagged the ends under the greeting. It seemed a bit plain so I dug out some “Vintage” Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape and adhered it to it. A few sequins sprinkled around the card finish of with a little sparkle! A fun floral card the most special lady in your life!

    CYCI #66

Yes, that’s right, it’s an anything goes week over on the Can You Case It blog! I decided that it was time to use more than just the greeting in the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set! The base for my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I heat embossed with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The three envelopes and the greeting are from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the envelopes in Soft Sky, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand. They are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Very Vanilla and the top is punched with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. The greeting is stamped in Soft Sky. I adhered some DMC Gold Metallic Thread behind the tag which is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three hearts punched with the Confetti Heart Border Punch from Blushing Bride and three from Gold Foil Sheet are adhered to the tag and the envelopes with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.I love the soft colors with the cool woodgrain embossed Kraft! I think this would make a great thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Designer’s Choice challenge from Can You Case It as well as meeting the new members to my Design Team! Thank you so much for stopping by and have yourself an awesome Sunday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 248

Hi there! I’m a little late today, another Friday night out with the gang and it was 2:00am before I got to bed last night! I had a great day yesterday! I had lunch with some friends at work and then came home and made a card quickly before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for card class with Taylor. I got to play with some new stuff for next month’s class before we had a little dinner with Renee and Angie. There is a Panrea across the street so I ran over and picked it up. Class was so much fun! Brian and Andrew were there last night and Sandy stopped by for a bit too! Everyone had fun and we are thinking that we will need to do two classes next month as it’s already filled up! After class Andrew followed Taylor and I to the bar and we met Marissa, Fred, Anthony and Bill there. Taylor took my car home, so nice to have a child that can drive! Brian had stopped to get some food so he got there not long after us. We had a lot of laughs and I went home with Bill and Anthony. They dropped of Marissa and then me. Nothing like a good card class and then some drinks with friends after!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

    PPA 248

I did a nice bright quick card! The base is Melon Mambo Card Stock cut to 5″ x 5″. I used a piece of the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper for the background. My panel in the middle is the library card from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used some SNAIL and Fun Foam to adhere the library card to the card. The fun glasses are cut from a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the MFT Die-namics Geek is Chic Die and heat embossed with Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I added some Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh sequins to the library card for some sparkle and that completes the card. I love the glasses and the nice bright Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper, they make for a fun nerdy card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day here on the blog so make sure that you come back for the Can You Case It post to announce some more new Design Team members and then the Control Freaks Blog Tour is tomorrow night! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 62

Oh yes! Happy Friday to you all! I have had a good week so no complaints here! I stopped home last night and picked up Taylor and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to get all of the prep for tonight’s class done. I really do love spending time with Renee, she’s a funny lady and we always have a good laugh! We even Skyped with Andrea for a bit. I couldn’t leave there without picking up some stuff so I got some goodies from the Prima Butterfly line, some Blue Fern Studios Chip Board and some stuff from My Minds Eye Fancy That line. On the way home we stopped at Michaels to pick up some basic card making supplies for Taylor. She wants her own stuff, she has really gotten into card making lately and is even thinking of starting a blog soon! WOW! That would be pretty cool! She made some cards this week and I wanted to post them here but she said that she wants to post them on her blog. Taking after her old man! Here are the two of us in the car with the top down on the way to see Renee…

    Taylor and Me Car

So today is an extra great Friday because it’s a Fab Friday and here is our sketch challenge…

    Fab Fri 62 4-17-2015

I don’t know why, maybe because I like the stamp set so much, but I have been in a wedding card mood lately! Today’s card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered with a piece of Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. The panel is a piece of Basic Black that I heat embossed the Hardwood Background Stamp on it in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I heat embossed the greeting from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum and adhered it on the back of the panel. Some Fun Foam is used as a backing and some SNAIL adheres it to the card. A piece of Sahara Sand that I flagged is tucked under the bottom. I tore off a small strip of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape and put it on a piece of Whisper White. The edges are trimmed with my Paper Snips and some Foam Tape holds it in place. I wanted my button to match the greeting so I used the Little Pieces Embosslit to cut out some whisper white and heat embossed it with more Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. That too is adhered to the Washi Tape with some Foam Tape. Finally some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the embossed woodgrain to break it up a bit. Another simple card that would be a great wedding one. I think that the black on black woodgrain has a fun look to it! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Before you go take a quick hop over the blog and see what the rest of talented teammates have done with the sketch! Thanks for sharing some of your Friday with me, have a fab one! 🙂
