  • Embellished Gold & Black Wedding

All around yesterday was a pretty good day! Work was very nice, all of the people in my department had lunch together for my birthday and they decorated my desk too. I came home and Heather stopped by for a little bit. My friends Brian and Kim had a little get together for me last night. Andrew, Danielle, Taylor, and my friend Stephanie joined us, we had some food and drinks, and Andrew brought his Cards Against Humanity game over. If you have never played this game and are not easily offended, I highly recommend it. We spent about 3 hours gasping and hysterically laughing at the extremely creative cards that they’ve come up with. I say it all the time, but I am quite lucky to have the friends that I have. Sometimes all you need is a small get together to make a birthday perfect. To make a great day even better, all of your birthday wishes brought a big smile to my face. Thank you so much for your kind words!! 🙂

*We interrupt this program for a special message.*

Hi folks, Andrew here! Unfortunately, I tried to type up a surprise message for Justin yesterday and WordPress decided not to post it. No worries, though, I’m here today to amend that situation! LOL! I just wanted to wish Justin the happiest of birthdays and say how lucky I am to have him in my life and call him a friend. When everyone else fails to be there, Justin is without a doubt by my side if I need him and I can’t thank him enough for all he does for me. I’m glad that he enjoyed his birthday, and I’m glad I was there to enjoy it with him. LOL! Alright, I’ll keep this short, but especially after WordPress screwed up yesterday (GR!), I had to make sure I hijacked his blog for a birthday wish. Ha ha! Enjoy your day, everyone! 🙂

*Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.*

The card that I have for you today is one that my friend Danielle had asked me to make for her. Her and her boyfriend are attending a friend’s wedding today. I have to tell you, it feels much easier to take make a card for someone when you know the person. That being said, here’s what I came up with…

The card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock and my background is a piece of Basic Black. I used some Sticky Strip to adhere a length of the Gold Sequin Trim around the back and then adhered the card to the base with Fast Fuse Adhesive. The two images are from the Embellished Events Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. The greeting is from the “Vintage” Follow My Heart Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Kraft Card Stock and cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits; some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. Wedding cards always need a little more bling, so I adhered some Basic Jewels Rhinestones to the champagne flutes. A nice, simple, elegant wedding card with just the right amount of sparkle! I really like the way the champagne flutes look like actual glasses when they are embossed on the vellum. I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and if you haven’t tried heat embossing on vellum, I don’t know what else to do. LOL! Thanks for stopping by, and have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 50

A very happy Friday to you all! And a happy birthday to me! LOL! When I arrived home from work yesterday, there was a very nice little surprise waiting for me. I got some happy mail, all the way from my friend Carolyn in Australia! She sent me a lovely birthday card and some very delicious Tim-Tams.

    Carolyn Birthday Card-WM

Isn’t that a cool card?! She really does make the neatest easel cards. And how appropriate is that mustache? LOL! I was also lucky enough to get my hands on the new iOS 8 software for the iPhone and iPad. I did mine in the morning and Andrew stopped by last night and did his. There are a few new features that are quite neat, like the ability to respond to a text message without leaving the app that you’re in. Siri is also vastly improved and if you have a 5S and your phone is plugged in, you can just say, “Hey Siri”, and she’s ready to go. Pretty cool stuff! My brother just happened to be on his way back from Chicago yesterday and took this very cool picture of the 9/11 Memorial as he was coming into New York and I just had to share it with you.

    SouthwestJDK 9-11-2014

You can really see the lights from the memorial and I think the wing in the picture is pretty neat. Pretty strange to think that it’s been 13 years since that tragic day. And I can still tell you exactly what I was doing that entire day. Some things you just never forget.

Now on to happier things, like my card for the Fab Friday challenge. This time around it’s a color challenge…

    Fab Fri 50 9-12-2014

Funnily enough, I actually did the card for the next Fab Friday challenge and had to quickly make this one last night. Sometimes my lack of sleep works against me. LOL! I have really been enjoying the Kraft Card Stock, so yes, you will be seeing a lot of that for the next few cards, and the heat embossing continues. The base for my card today is Whisper White Card Stock and I adhered a piece of Kraft to cover the entire front. On top of that is a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum leaving a little bit of the Kraft peeking out the left side. All of the stamps that I used on this card are from the Garden Party Stamp Set. My tag is a piece is a piece of Pool Party and I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the bottom corners. The greeting is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder along with the small flowers and they are cut out with my Paper Snips. The larger flowers are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and again, cut out with Paper Snips. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the tag and a piece of Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon is threaded through the top of the tag and a piece of Gold Baker’s Twine is tied around it. To finish off the card, I put two strips of the Beach House Washi Tape on a diagonal in the upper right hand corner. Again, loving the Kraft Card Stock and I like the way the gold looks with the Pool Party and Calypso Coral. And there you have the correct card for the Fab Friday color challenge this time around. Take a few minutes to visit the blog and see what the other designers have come up with. And if you have a minute, make a card and upload it to the gallery so we can see your take on the color challenge. I hope that you enjoyed today’s post. Variety is the spice of life! Thanks so much for coming by, and make sure you enjoy your Friday! 🙂

  • Mojo 362

Yesterday was just another day, nothing exciting to report. Work was work. I did stop by and see Brian and Kim last night. Brian was nice enough to go and get Carvel. I haven’t had that in forever! Some vanilla soft serve with whipped cream and colored sprinkles. YUM! We are supposed get some rain today and it’s supposed to be in the 80’s. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice and that’s good because we are having a little get together at Brian and Kim’s for someone’s birthday! Wonder who it could be?!

My post for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge from Julee Tilman…

    Mojo362

I decided to use some colors that I don’t usually use together, I’m loving the Kraft Card Stock and I wanted to see how it would look with Blushing Bride. For my card base I used a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and I adhered a piece of Kraft Card Stock to cover the entire front. I have been doing that a lot lately, i saves from having to line the inside of the card. The panel in the middle is Blushing Bride and I embossed it with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the main panel I used a piece of Basic Black and a strip of the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. Across the top is a piece of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon that I cut the edges off of and pulled some threads out. It’s adhered with Fast Fuze. A piece of Gold Baker’s Twine is adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip over the top of the burlap. The feathers (yes, there they are again!) are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and are heat embossed with Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock and cut out with the Feathers Framelits. I tucked them under the greeting which is from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it and a piece of Kraft out with the Bitty Banners Framelits and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and is also heat embossed with Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum, a glue dot holds him in place. The panel is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals and that completes the card. I love the Kraft, Blushing Bride and Basic Black together. Along with the Burlap it gives the card a nice earthy feel. So that’s my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch., I hope that you enjoyed it and I thank you, as always, for coming by to see me. Enjoy your Thursday peeps, we are almost there! 🙂

Happy Wednesday! Love the halfway point almost as much as I love Friday! LOL! So I don’t know if you are aware of how much of an Apple fan I am but yesterday was like Christmas! Apple announced their new iPhone 6’s, yes two of them! One with a 4.7″ screen and one with a 5.5″ screen. They also announced their new Apple Pay system where you can pay for things with your iPhone, I will be loving that as I hate to carry a wallet! They always have one more thing and this time it was the Apple Watch!! I can’t wait to get that! I have a smart watch now but it’s no where near as smart as the Apple Watch! I also got to “live” text the whole keynote to Andrew while he was in school! I felt like a little tech blogger! LOL! You can pre-order the new phone on Friday, it was a special day already but now, well, it’s even more special! UPS and FedEx are going to busy next week! 🙂

Oh, I forgot to tell you yesterday about the Stampin’ Up! weekly deals so here they are…

It’s Wednesday so that means it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This is what we have for you this week…

    PCCCS109 Sketch 9-10-2014

A really fun and different one don’t you think?! The funny thing is that I knew I wanted to use the Confetti Stars Punch, I just wasn’t sure how. My card starts off with a base of Crushed Curry Card Stock. On the lower half of the card I adhered a piece of paper from the Flashback Designer Series Paper Pack. In the center is a piece of Real Red that I punched with the Confetti Stars Border Punch and the used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the bottom. I adhered a piece of Pool Party 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the back before using some Multi-Purpose glue to adhere the red to the base. My flag coming in from the top right is a piece of Basic Gray and on top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla. I stamped the notebook paper from the Tap, Tap, Tap Stamp Set in Pool Party, used the Spiral Border Punch along the left side and then rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder. The typewriter and greeting are from the same set and are heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Smoky Slate. My two stars are from the Be the Star Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Stars Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of those pieces to the card. A Silver Basic Metal Button is adhered with a Glue Dot to the ribbon to finish off the card. I love the mix of colors and yes, I’m still a little addicted to heat embossing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Please take a minute to head on over to the blog and check out the other designer projects. Why not make one and upload it to the gallery for us to see?! I appreciate you stopping by to see what I have been up to. I hope that you all have a very happy hump day! 🙂

  • SUO Challenges 105

I made the best of my Monday, like I said no point in dwelling on the negative! Work just keeps getting crazier but it is what is. I just keep telling myself that it all gets better once it going home time! I made my escape and went to my parents for dinner. My little man Daniel was there cute as ever. His mom was feeding him and makes the cutest faces when he gets something that he doesn’t really like! But he still eats it and makes the face ever time! LOL! After dinner I went over to Sandy’s house for card class. It’s always a laugh and I’m usually the jokester! When I got home Taylor had stopped by and gave me some more props for my pictures, Christmas stuff which I needed. I made some coffee and sat down at the computer to catch up on comments and emails. Then I get caught up looking at stuff on-line and before I know it it’s midnight!

The post that I have for you today is for the SUO Challenges blog. The rest of the Design Team and I have created projects for this challenge which is Embellishments! What do you think that I used?! My card begins with a base of Blackberry Bliss Card Stock and my background is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, although in the pictures it looks a bit Coastal, that I adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I used the Striped Scalloped Thinlit to cut out some Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the lower half of the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. A piece of Gold Baker’s Twine helps break up the transition to the plain card stock. My tree is from the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow on Pistachio Pudding. I heat embossed the ornaments in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched the tree out with the Tree Punch. To back it I cut out a piece of Blackberry Bliss with the Chalk Talk Framelits and stamped a stamp from the “Vintage” Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set in Encore Gold Metallic Ink. The tree and the tag are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Good Greetings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow up in top left corner. Three 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins are randomly adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue on the top right. Yes, I did use some sequins, shocking huh?! LOL! There is my Design Team card for the SUO Challenges Embellishments challenge. Take a minute and go over to the blog to see what the reset of the Designers have done and enter you card in the gallery! I hope that you enjoyed my card and that you shave a Terrific Tuesday! Thank you for your visit! 🙂

  • Creation Station Tour – Tags and Letters

    creation station header

Hello everyone! The Unite and Excite event was lots of fun! I got to see some of my friends and make new ones, too! We went to Bertucci’s for lunch afterwards and had a great time. When I got home, Andrew came by and we ran to the Apple Store to get his phone fixed. Spent some time at the house and then had Panera for dinner. Aside from the muggy and rainy weather, I’d say yesterday was a pretty good day! Here is a picture of me and Donna from the event!

    Donna and Justin 9-2014

Today it’s time for the Creation Station Blog Tour! I’m hoping that you have been along for our previous ones! If this is your first time here, welcome and I hope that you find inspiration in the projects. This time around we are featuring the alphabet stamps and tags. If you are following the tour you have arrived here from Deborah Smart’s blog, clever projects, don’t you think?! I have three cards for you today. Without further ado…

My first card is a very simple and quite masculine card. It begins with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and my background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that the “tag” stamp from the Bits and Pieces Stamp Set fit perfectly inside the Note Tag Punch. It is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Very Vanilla. I sponged some Crumb Cake on the edges and punched a hole in the top with the 1/8″ Circle Punch. A piece of Basic Black Baker’s Twine goes through the hole and some Crystal Effects hold it exactly where I want it. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Some more sponging and a Silver Basic Metal Button is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the tag and the greeting to the card. A very monochromatic and masculine card.

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Card 1-WM

For my second card I did a holiday card. The card begins with a base of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background I stamped the snowflakes from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Mossy Meadow Card Stock. My tags are punched out with the Note Tag Punch from Kraft Card Stock. I used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out the word “JOY” from the tags and backed them with Cherry Cobbler with Stampin’ Dimensionals in between.

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Pic 1-WMCreation Station Blog Tour 9 - Pic 2-WM

Some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine is thread through the tops of the tags and they are adhered to the card with SNAIL. A thin strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper goes across the bottom and finishes off the card with a little sparkle. I know it’s unlike me to make a holiday card using traditional holiday colors, but I figured once in a while, I must conform to the norm. LOL!

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Card 2-WM

My last card is a card I have been wanting to make for a while. It starts off with a base of Pool Party Card Stock. I used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out two rows of letters, A-F and G-L, from a piece of Basic Black and backed the “H” and “I” with Real Red Card Stock. That panel is mounted to another panel of Basic Black using Stampin’ Dimensionals and is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. Two 1/8″ strips of Real Red go across the top and bottom and are adhered with 2-Way Glue. I like the color combination and I think the pop of red makes the “HI” really stand in the spotlight among the other letters. LOL!

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Card 3-WM

It makes me feel very creative when I use the same theme for three projects, and they all come out looking so different! I had fun making my cards for the Creation Station Blog Tour this time around and I hope that you enjoyed them. I’m the last stop on the tour, but if you began here, head over to Jen Arkfeld’s blog to start from the beginning! I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for coming by and have a super Sunday! 🙂

  • Black Soiree Feather Hello

TGIS! LOL! My Friday was quite busy! I had to print out some posters at work in the morning and then do my monthly 56 mile field trip to deliver them to our other locations. I also had to stop at one of our new affiliates and take pictures of their sign, It needs to be replaced. On my way back to the office I had a little car trouble. I called my dad and he came and had it fixed in about five minutes! The man is just incredible! What did he use? A pocket knife and screwdriver. He is like MacGuyver! I stopped back at the office to take care of some last minute things and then went and got a much needed haircut. I came back home and had some dinner and Andrew stopped by for a bit. Always a welcome addition to any day! After he left I went over and saw my friend Maureen, we ran some errands and then I came home and puttered on the computer for a bit. I love when a busy day ends so nicely and today is going to be a lot of fun! I have the Unite and Excite event in Hauppauge and they were kind enough to send Donna Griffith!! Love Donna and I can’t wait to see her in my neck of the woods! It will be great to get to meet some of the other Demos from the area too! I’m looking forward to it! I’l let you all know what goes on tomorrow! 🙂

The card that I have for you today is one that was just for fun. I love those Feather Framelits as you well know and some black, white and gold is always fun. Here is what that combination resulted in! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide for tall skinny card! I took a piece of Basic Black and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut off just the bottom and mounted the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The feathers are made with some Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper and Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Feathers Framelits. I adhered them to each other and to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For my greeting I used one of the stamps from the Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Bushed Gold Metallic Card Stock and tucked it under the feathers on the right. To finish off the card I used some Gold Baker’s Twine and a few matte black and gold sequins. Black and Gold are just such elegant colors and the White just makes them pop! I hope that you enjoyed my just for fun card for today’s post. Thanks for stopping by and sharing my day with me! You guys are the BEST! Have a super Saturday everyone! 🙂

Happy Friday my friends! TGIF for sure! It was another extremely busy day at work yesterday but I did manage to get all the things done that I wanted to. After work I had some dinner with my parents and then came home and sat outside and went though my comments and email just enjoying the nice evening. Around 7:30 I got a text from my friend Chantal asking if I was up for a rescue mission. I said sure why not. Apparently the trains were all delayed and some cancelled so she got on a train the let her off at the station by my house. I went over and picked her up and she asked if she could see my apartment and I said of course! We came back to my house and I gave her the “grand tour”, LOL! I haven’t see Chantal in a while so we spent some much needed time catching up. I showed her some pictures of Daniel and she some of her granddaughter Chloe. I drove her home around 10:00 and played some Sam Smith for her, she hadn’t heard him! When we got to her house she said that she would be going inside and downloading his album immediately. She also said that she hasn’t had any new music in a while and that was because she hadn’t seen me! It was such a nice surprise to get to rescue her and spend some time together. Love when things like that happen!

Speaking of Daniel, my brother took this super cute picture of him the other day, I just love the cap and his amazing little smile!

After I got back from dropping off Chantal I decided that I needed to make my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s color challenge…

    PPA 218

I had an idea in my head as to what I wanted to do so I set out to see if I could make it happen! My card today is a bit longer than usual, it measures 6″ by 4 1/4″. The base is Crumb Caked Card Stock and so is the background that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I decide that I wanted to make a dreamcatcher. I used my Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Coaster Board and a piece of Hello Honey. Some Linen Thread is looped around the Coaster Board randomly, I wanted it have a simple handmade look, I used the piece of Hello Honey to cover the top. My feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and are heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Blackberry Bliss. I also cut some out of Brushed Gold and adhered them off to the side behind the Blackberry Bliss ones. Some more Linen Thread ties them to the hoop. The greeting is from the “Vintage” Loving Thoughts Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensional pieces adhere it to the hoop. A few sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim are adhered to the Linen Thread in the hoop and a piece of Post-It Tape holds the string around the back of the card just in case the recipient wants to take it off and hang it. I just can’t stop heat embossing lately can I?! I’m loving the texture that it gives to images and greetings! So there is my late night card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I had fun making the card and I hope that you enjoy it! Thank you for sharing my day with me and I hope you enjoy your Friday! 🙂

First days back to work after a long weekend are usually not that great but mine was! I had to go out to East Hampton to the school that we have there and set up a loop on one of the TV’s using the new hardware and software that I recommended. It’s a 75 mile trip each way and once you get to certain point on the road that goes out there it’s one lane and very slow moving. But, it was a nice sunny, if not very hot and humid day. Top down in the car and the music up nice and loud made for a good if not long ride. It was the day before classes start so the staff was there and they got everyone pizza for lunch. I picked a good day to go out there! LOL! I got the setup done in about 2 1/2 hours and then headed home. You wouldn’t know that Long Island really is long until you head out to the Hamptons! It’s still the place to go after all of these years, I have friends that have houses out there and I have been out in the summer but it’s way too crowded for me. I like to go out in the fall, there are less people but still things to do and places to go. I do love a field trip as you all know! 😀

One of the stamp sets that I use on my card today is called Good Greetings. It’s the Host set for the 2014 Holiday Catalog and you can earn the set for free when you either host a party or place an order for $300 or more between now and October 31st. This is in addition to the regular Host Benefits that you already get. You can see more info below or clock HERE to download a PDF of the flyer. It’s a great set to have in that really cool font! Get yours today!

It’s Wednesday (already!) and that means that today is my post for the Paper Craft Crew Design Team blog. This week we have a fun sketch for you…

    PCCCS108- Sketch 9-03-2014

At first I though postage stamps for the two squares and then I decided that was too obvious so I dusted off an oldie but goodie! For my card base I used a piece of Smoky Slate Card Stock with a small strip of Pool Party going down the left side. The panel in the middle is a piece of Lost Lagoon and I heat embossed the sentiment/image from the Seasonally Scattered Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My two snowflakes are from the “Vintage” Festive Flurry Stamp Set, they are heat embossed in Pool Party and cut out with the “Vintage” Festive Flurry Framelits. I flagged a piece of Whisper White and heat embossed the greeting on it from the Good Greetings Host Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some Dimensionals go behind the snowflakes and flagged greeting and hold them in place. To complete the card I place three enamel dots up in the right corner. The Seasonally Scattered Stamp Set is really cool and looks especially good heat embossed on a darker color, really makes the sentiment stand out and I still love those snowflakes! The card has a somewhat tailored masculine feel to it, wouldn’t you agree?! And there you have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge, Take a minute to stop by the blog and see what creations my fellow designers have for you and enter one of yours in the gallery! I hope that you enjoyed the card! I thank you for stopping by to see what I have been up to and I hope that you have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • Paper Players 211 & The Creative Blog Hop!

Hello peeps! It’s so nice to have off on Monday isn’t it?! I am thoroughly enjoying my weekend and hope that you are too. I went into Manhattan last night for some dinner at my friends Bev and Jason’s apartment. They are the people that my friend Kim watches the dogs for when they go away for the weekend. Always a good time but a late night! Andrew retrieved me from the train station and brought me home. Such a good guy. Today I have been asked to be part of a fun little blog hop called the Creative Blog Hop. I’m honored that my friend Sandy Mathis has tagged me to participate! You may have heard about it already, but if not, it is a venue for crafters of all kinds to talk about ourselves a bit and hopefully make a few new friends along the way. Sandy has a great blog called Stamp with Sandy. She posts regularly and is quite the talented stamper and a very good friend! You can see her post for the Creative Blog Tour here and then make sure and take a look at the rest of her posts!

The hop asks us to answer four questions about ourselves so here goes!

What am I working on now?

I’m always working on lots of things at the same time! I have my weekly Design Team commitments, Blog Tours and regular posts. I’m actually starting to get interested in Mixed Media and got some supplies on Saturday so I’m going to give that a try. What doesn’t kill us makes us more creative right?!?!

How does my work differ from others?

I think that we all have a certain style of card making that we love, mine is collage. I love to see how I can get different elements to work together and look cohesive. I also enjoy lots of other styles and try to be as varied in my projects as I can. We have to keep it interesting not only for our wonderful readers but for ourselves too!

Why do I create what I do?

I started making cards as a creative outlet. I think that paper crafting is a great way to express yourself and it helps me relax. My creativity has turned into a loyal following of blog readers that I have gotten to know over the past few years and now can call them friends. So I guess the best reason that I can think of why I do what I do is to stay connected to my peeps!

How does my creative process work?

I spend a lot of time looking on Pinterest and SplitCoast. I get inspiration form the world around me too. I can be walking down the street in Manhattan and see a sign or building and that can inspire me with colors or shapes. I also am lucky in that I have a photographic memory., I can sometimes put a card together on the train on the way home or while I’m sitting at my desk at work all in my head.

Now, I am honored to get to tag two of my favorite paper crafters in the Creative Blog Hop!

    Wendy Weixler

    Wickedly Wonderful Creations

    Wendy

I am a Stampin’ Up! demo and love using this blog as a creative outlet. I have three great kids, a wonderful husband and a houseful of pets – a toy poodle, two parakeets, and two fish!! Life is good … 🙂

I’m very lucky to have gotten to know Wendy and have spent lots of time with her at Convention and chatting on Facebook! She is a truly wonderful person that I’m happy to call my friend!

    and

    Carolyn Lindemayer

    Carolyn’s Card Creations

    Carolyn

Hi, my name is Carolyn. I’m Mother of 2 gorgeous girls and I’ve been married for 29 years. I have a passion for paper. I started Scrapbooking in 2001 and Cardmaking followed in 2002 and quickly took over. I’ve been teaching ever since. I joined Stampin Up in May 2009 and absolutely love the products and the friendships I’m making.

Carolyn and I have become good friends even though she lives on the other side of the world! We often FaceTime and I have even been lucky enough to have received some TimTams in the mail! Love my little Aussie!

So now next Monday Wendy and Carolyn will select some more people to introduce you to so make sure that you check in with them next week!

Now on to our regularly scheduled programming! Even though it doesn’t feel like Monday it is! That’s a good thing! So if it’s Monday that means it’s time for the Paper Players challenge. This week it’s a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Nance…

    Paper Players #211

I went with the first row down. Sometimes you just need a bright, cheerful birthday card so that what I did. The base of the card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock, I rounded the corners on it and the next layer of Pumpkin Pie with the Project Life Corner Rounder. On top of the Pumpkin Pie I have a piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper that I cut out with the Project Life Card and Labels Framelits. I ran it through the Big Shot again using the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the notch on the left side. My cupcake is from the Cupcake Party Stamp Set and is stamped in Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo and punched out with the Cupcake Builder Punch. I mounted it to a piece of Tempting Turquoise that I punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. It’s tucked into the notch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and I again used the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits to cut it out, Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it in place too. I felt it needed a little something more so I used my Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color some Basic Jewels Pearls. I put some tiny ones on the cupcake and then “scattered” some around the card. Like I said, bright , cheery and simple, a great card to liven up someones birthday, don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Creative Blog Hop post and Paper Players card for today! I’m very lucky to have you all come by and visit with me, I appreciate it and it makes my days much better! Thank you and enjoy your Monday! 🙂
