  • Indigo Argyle Amazing Card

Good morning everyone! How are all of you on this beautiful Saturday? I’m good and getting all geared up to start my invitation making marathon! I will have to escape for a little while today, especially if it stays sunny out. 🙂 Today’s card is another one that uses all new products for the new 2012-2013 Catalog and also would make a great masculine card. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock for the background. The images and greeting are from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo. The large image is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I used the Paper-Piercing Essentials Pack, Stampin’ Pierce Mat and the Paper-Piercer to create the border. I love it because it has templates for a lot of the Framelits and Punches and you can either do create a pierced border inside or outside the cutout. The “Amazing” is stamped again and cut out with my Paper Snips and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two pieces of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon are adhered to the back and then it is attached to the background with more Stampin Dimensionals.  I used the Ticket Builder Duo Punch to punch out the “winner” tickets and adhered them with Stampin Dimensionals too. Who wouldn’t want to get a card that says You’re Amazing for a birthday, thank you or just because. Thanks for visiting today and enjoy your day!

  • Burgundy Delicate Heart Postage Birthday

Good morning everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! One of my favorite days of the week! I have lots of crafting to do this weekend, birthday invitations and wedding invitations, I’ll be busy but loving every minute of it! Today’s card is a quick and easy card to make. It has lots of texture and dimension and I used a color combination that I haven’t used before. I started with a base of Sahara Sand, a color that I often forget about but I think I will use more in the future. I used the new Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with some Bravo Burgundy for the strip on the right side. The large stamped image is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. The postage stamp is from the same set and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Sahara Sand and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The large image, postage stamp and greeting are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the elegant simplicity and I think that you could even get away with using this for a masculine card too. Thank you for visiting today and I hope that you have a great Friday!

  • Primrose Lacy Papillon Fan Hello

Happy Thursday! I got my box-o-stampin’ goodies yesterday! It was just like Christmas… only better! Today’s card was made from some of the new stuff that I got yesterday. I started with a base of Primrose Petals Card Stock. I used my Big Shot and ran a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock through with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the front of the card I took a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and wrapped it around the sides and adhered it with Sticky Strip. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals Ink. I used the coordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch them out. The Hello is from the Lacy & Lovely Stamp Set and is also stamped in Primrose Petals Ink and cut out with my Paper Snips. The teeny tiny label is from the Lovely Little Labels Stamp Set, also stamped in Primrose Petals Ink, and punched out with the Little Labels Punch Pack. All of the stamped items are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity and elegance of the card. The Fancy Fan embossing really helps to make the images pop. Thank you for checking in with me and have an amazing day!

  • High Line Rose Wings Believe Frame

Good morning peeps. How was everyone’s Monday. Mine was good because I had card class! It nice because my daughter Taylor comes with me and we get to laugh and make cards for a few hours. Today’s project is a picture in a frame. I wanted to show how you can use some simple elements to embellish a picture. The picture was taken in Manhattan at the High Line which is an old section of elevated freight train track the runs from Gansevoort Street to West 20th Street on the West Side that they have turned into a green space. I went there a few months ago with my friend Kim and took this picture of a flower. I’m not even sure what kind of flower it is but I love the way  it is in focus and all of the background isn’t. The greeting is from the Just Believe Stamp set and is stamped in Rose Red and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The butterflies are form the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and are cut from Rose Red Card Stock. All of the items are mounted to the picture on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I put the picture in a shadow box frame. I think this would make a great gift for anyone. I highly recommend that if you are ever in Manhattan that you go and take a walk on the High Line. Its a beautiful and different way to spend the afternoon. Thanks for checking in with me and enjoy your day!

  • Paper Players #98

Hello everyone and a good Monday morning to you. I hope that you all had a great weekend, I know I did. I had two meetings with friends about making invitations and my brother and his fiancée stopped by and picked their wedding invitations. I had a nice crafty Sunday! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This weeks host is Jaydee and she has given us a theme challenge…

Summertime! As soon as I saw it I thought what says summertime better than a pinwheel! The base of the card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I ran a piece of Real Red Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The pinwheel is made from a 3 1/4″ square piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper. I used a Brights Collection 3/16″ Brad to secure all of the wings to the center. A piece of wooden dowel makes the handle and I tied a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon to the middle. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used the new Bitty Banners Framelits Dies to cut it out. I adhered everything to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. It’s a relatively simple card to make and I love all of the bright colors.  I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank for stopping by. Have a great Monday! 🙂

  • Burgundy Artichoke Vermillion Old & New

Good morning and happy Sunday to you all! I had a very nice day in the city yesterday. It was a little rainy in the morning but I got to drive with the top down in the convertible on the way home. 🙂 Today’s card is a simple card that would be a great masculine card and with a sentiment change could be for anything. I used one of my favorite stamps, the Young Vermillion Wood Mount À la Carte**. He is retired but he’s still a good one. He’s stamped in Bravo Burgundy and mounted on a piece of Bravo Burgundy Card Stock. The leaves image is from the Lovely As A Tree Wood Mount Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke and mounted on a piece of Always Artichoke Card Stock. I used one of the new Naturals Designer Buttons and tied it with some retired Natural Hemp Twine**. I saw the idea for the way to tie the button on Pinterest. It’s backed by some more Always Artichoke Card Stock and adhered to the card with Sticky Strip for extra staying power. The background is Crumb Cake embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and that is mounted to the base which is Bravo Burgundy. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Wood Mount Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke and punched out with the Word Window Punch and the re-punched to make it shorter. I love the colors and the little bird and will miss him now that he is gone! I hope that you like today’s card and thank you for stopping by, have a great day!

  • Mojo 243 and Sneak Peek

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope that your first day back to work after that nice three day weekend wasn’t too bad. I am constantly just trying to get through to Friday each week! Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Julee Tilman has provided this weeks sketch and it asks round or square…

I always choose the square one, I will have to give the round one a try soon. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock cut to 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and the scored at 4 1/4″ and folded. The background uses the Texture Plates Backgrounds 1*** and is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used some Patio Party Designer Series Paper** for the argyle strip and the hearts. The flagged ends are made just using my Paper Snips and a ruler (I am way too anal to eyeball anything!). The heart piece of DSP is mounted on a piece of Primrose Petals* Card Stock. The greetings are from the Priority Mail Host(ess)** Stamp Set and are stamped in Midnight Muse* and Primrose Petals* Ink. The happy birthday is punched out using the Curly Label Punch and the eat cake is punched with the Postage Stamp Punch. I cut out two circles, one in Midnight Muse* and one in Summer Starfruit*, with my Circle Scissor Pro***. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you like the card and have your lists ready to place your orders for items from the new catalog starting this Thursday at 2:00pm EST, I know I do! • Paper Players #97 and Summer Smooches

Good morning everyone! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend. Mine was good, I went to a BBQ and got to see a lot of my friends so that was pretty awesome. Thanks to Brian & Kim for hosting and for the delicious food. 🙂

Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. LeAnne has given us this sketch to work with…

In the spirit of the fun weekend that I had I decided to do a bright and colorful card. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I took two pieces of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper** and used those for the top part of the background. The bottom half is Bashful Blue and is embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used my Circle Scissor Pro*** to cut out a piece of Tangerine Tango Card Stock and another piece of Summer Smooches DSP** for the center. The butterfly is cut from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz L Die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. The body of the butterfly is a paper bead also made from Summer Smooches DSP** and coated with Crystal Effects, it’s adhered with Mini Glue Dots. For the antennae I used a piece of Hemp Twine***. The flower is a 1″ Circle Punch of Tempting Turquoise and the middle circle is part of the eye from the Owl Builder Punch in Island Indigo. The leaves are made using the 1/2″ Circle punch and reinserting the paper to make the leaf shape. The greeting is form the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The buds are punched form Rich Razzleberry using the small circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the leaves are Lucky Limeade and are also made with the same punch and technique mentioned above. The greeting is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the buds with Mini Glue Dots. I think the bright colors fit in perfectly with weather that we had out here on Long Island this weekend. I hope that you enjoy this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂

  • Comfort Café Bead Pinwheel Postage Thanks and Sneak Peek

Good morning and Happy Memorial Day! I hope that you all have some fun outdoor activities planned today with family and friends. It looks like it may be a nice day here today, hopefully it will stay that way! I went over to Stamp with Sandy the other night and we made paper beads and pinwheels. Today’s card features both of those items and another sneak peek. The base of the card is Soft Suede with a piece of Baja Breeze added as a plain background. The piece of Designer Series Paper in the middle is Comfort Café** from the new catalog. I cut it out with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies** and my Big Shot. The pinwheel is made using a piece of First Edition Designer Series Paper. It is cut to 3 1/2″ square and scored diagonally from corner to corner using the Simply Scored with the Diagonal Plate. You then cut up each of the score lines leaving about 1/2″ in the center. Then you punch holes in the right hand side of each of the flaps with the 1/16″ Circle Punch and one in the middle. You take a brad and go around in a circle attaching all of the flaps and then put it through the middle and you have your pinwheel. I cut a thin strip of Soft Suede Card Stock for the stick and used some Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the front of the card. The butterfly is made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and Midnight Muse* Card Stock. The body of the butterfly is a paper bead made with some more First Edition Designer Series Paper. To make the bead you cut out an 8″ long by 1″ wide triangle and wrap the large end around a toothpick and roll it a little and then use Tombo Multipurpose Glue to adhere the rest of the length which gives you the bead shape. After it has dried for a while you use a paintbrush to coat it with a layer of Crystal Effects to give it the shine and make it a little more durable. It is adhered to the butterfly with a Mini Glue Dot and to the Card With a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting is from the Pretty Postage Stamp Set. I used the 1″ Square Punch to punch it out and then the 3/16″ Corner Rounder to round the corners. I then punched out a piece of Midnight Muse* with the Curly Label Punch for the backing, it is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspired you to try a pinwheel or to make a paper bead. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂
