  • Paper Players #89

    Good morning and happy Hump Day to you all. I am missing the warmer weather here on Long Island and can’t wait for it to return. Today’s card is for the Paper Players Challenge # 89. They have asked us to make a funny card…

    I have to admit that I was a little stumped as to what to do. I have never been a fan of funny cards, I like the pretty mushy ones the best. I thought about what card to make for a long time, and then it dawned on me, so many people joke about getting married as being the end of your life so why not send a sympathy card! The base of the card is Early Espresso, it is cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 1/4 and 5 1/2 with another piece cut to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 for the front making it an easel card (thanks Sandy!). The background is made using the Big Shot and the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 Embossing Plates with Very Vanilla Card Stock. The greeting is from Petite Pairs and is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch and then mounted to a piece of Calypso Coral at 1 1/2″ and then to a piece of Early Espresso cut to 1 3/4″. The cake if from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and so is the greeting on the bottom. The cake was cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some of the 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon from Sale-A-Bration to decorate the cake. The Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provides the backdrop and that was then mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the flowers and put some Basic Jewels Pearls on them. The lower greeting is punched out with the Word Window Punch and placed on a piece of Calypso Coral punched out with the Large Oval Punch and then a piece of Early Espresso punced out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and then placed on a piece of Calypso Coral and adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals to keep the easel part of the card standing up. Two more pieces of 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon, one across the top and one across the bottom complete the card. I hope that you enjoyed it and found it to be little funny, my married friends did!   • Everybunny Coral Balloon

    Good morning peeps and happy Sunday. I had a nice but busy day in Manhattan yesterday. I saw my friend Isabella and dropped off her Stampin’ Up! order and then had some lunch with my friend Kim. I also got a very nice surprise, I was LeeAnne’s Choice for Pick of the Week at The Paper Players! You can see the card here and the post here. For today’s card I decided it was time to break out the Easter stamps seeing as Easter is only a week away. This card was sent to my friends Mina & Pia. The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder and to that I added a piece of Calypso Coral that I ran through the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 Embossing Plates. I stamped the image from the Everybunny Stamp Set in Jet Black Staz-on and colored him in with Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers. I used the Blushing Bride Marker for a little pink on his ear. The greeting is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Modern Label Punch and mounted on a piece of Wisteria Wonder that I cut out using the Lots of Tags Sizzlits Dies. All of the elements are adhered to the card with SNAIL. I then punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack in Wisteria Wonder for a cute little addition.   • In-Color Flower Burst Thanks

    Happy Sunday peeps! I’m off to the city today to go and see Rent with my daughter and my wonderful friend Kim. It is supposed to rain all day but I still love a day in the city. For today’s card I used, in my opinion, a somewhat underused product… the Flower Burst Embosslit. The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder. The background is created with the Big Shot and the Texturz Plates 1 Backgrounds using some Pool Party. I stamped the greeting from Outlined Occasions (Sale-A-Bration) in Calypso Coral and used my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the stars. It’s mounted on a piece of Wisteria Wonder and adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Flower Burst Embosslit to cut out some Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral Card Stock and they are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.   • Happy Birthday Little B

    Good morning everyone! I hope that you are all having a good week so far. It’s bound to get better tomorrow because it’s Friday! 🙂 Today’s card is for my Godson Brian. I call him little B because I know so many Brian’s! I have used the Uncharted Territory Stamp Set a lot for masculine birthday cards and it really is a great set. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy and the background was created by running a piece of So Saffron though the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1. The image, as I mentioned, is from Uncharted Territory and is stamped in Not Quite Navy Ink. I used the birds from Up, Up & Away, they almost look like they are made for this set.  For the greeting I used my “go to” birthday set Happiest Birthday Wishes. Three gold Metallic Brads finish off the card in the top right corner mounted on some more Not Quite Navy. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

    Good morning and welcome to Monday, brought to you today by the Paper Players Challenge #87…

    This week featuring… buttons! I have quite a few buttons but I always for get to use them, thankfully this weeks challenge reminded me! I used three different stamp sets that all coordinate quite well together. The base of the card is Baja Breeze and to that I added a background of Soft Suede that I ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the Young Vermillion Wood Mount Stamp for the focal image of the card stamped in Soft Suede. The detail in the image is amazing, it’s definitely a favorite of mine. The strip along the bottom, also stamped in Soft Suede, is from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) and it also coordinates with the Tea Shoppe Set (Occasions Mini). I choose the greeting from the Happiest Birthday Wishes (Host(ess)) Stamp Set and they are backed with Baja Breeze. All of the stamped images are adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. For the perfect finishing touch I added three buttons in Baja Blue from the Twitterpated Designer Buttons (Occasions Mini) and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots.   • Razzleberry Bright Birthday

    Good morning and happy Saturday! What is everyone up to this weekend? I’m going to make some cards today for some friends and spend some time outside, it’s supposed to be nice today. Today’s card is great when you just need a quick and simple birthday card. The card is a note card size and would be perfect for anyone. I used the Notecards Pack, they come with 20 pre-cut and scored note cards and 20 envelopes in Whisper White. The background is Daffodil Delight that was ran through the Big Shot in the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) to stamp some more Daffodil Delight and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and then cut it in half to make the vases. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and backed it with Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. The greeting is from the Party This Way Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the Word Window Punch and backed by a piece of Rich Razzleberry punched out with the Modern Label Punch. I adhered it all to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The card would be perfect for anyone and with a quick greeting change could be a thank you too.     Good morning and welcome to Wednesday, we are halfway there people! For this weeks Paper Players they give us a color challenge…

    And what a great combination of colors it is. I love Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Crumb Cake. I will miss Pear Pizzaz when it retires in a few months too. I also did something that I never usually do, my card today has a very vintage feel to it. I sponged everything in Crumb Cake. The base of the card is Pool Party. I took some Wisteria Wonder and ran it through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Texture Impressions Embossing Folder. The sponging on it really makes the design shine through. I rounded the corners with the 1″ Circle Punch on the card and background. The stamp is from the set Up In the Air (Host(ess)) from the Occasions Mini Catalog and is stamped in Black Staz-on Ink. I colored in the flowers with my Stampin’ Write Markers using Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzaz. I then stamped the birdhouse again on crumb cake and popped it up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. The backing for the image is Crumb Cake and I flagged the ends with the 1 3/8″ Square Punch and rounded the other side with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The strip across the middle is Pear Pizzaz with a piece of Crumb Cake 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon across it. I mounted the image with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals and there you have it, Paper Player Challenge #86. Thank you, as always, for stopping by and enjoy your day!

    Happy Tuesday morning to everyone. I still can’t get myself straightened out after we adjusted the clocks, my mind hasn’t reset itself yet! Is anyone else having this problem too?!?! No on to more important things, I give you this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge…

    I always enjoy making my Mojo card and I’m using some of the pre-order items that will be available for customers to pre-order on April 1st. The card base is Whisper White. I ran some Daffodil Delight through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The bottom is the new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (Pre-Order) in Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo. The stamped images are from the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) and were markered with Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo Stampin’ Write Markers. The tulips are stamped in Daffodil Delight and perfectly aligned with my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I used the Eyelet Border Punch for a nice edge along the bottom and then it is mounted on Island Indigo and adhered with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little piece behind it is Lucky Limeade. I used one of the greetings from the Perfect Words Stamp Set (Host(ess)), it’s stamped in Lucky Limeade and punched out with the Word Window Punch and backed by a piece if Island Indigo punched out with the Modern Label Punch. A piece of the Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon finishes off the card nicely. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Sophia’s Birthday 🙂

    Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! Make sure that you cram a lot into this weekend because we loose a hour Sunday night! As promised, today’s card is for little Sophia who turned two yesterday. She is such a cute shy little girl and her big sister loves her so much. For the card I started with a base of Melon Mambo and I ran a piece of Daffodil Delight through the Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the images from the Every Little Bit Stamp Set in Mambo Melon on Whisper White Card Stock and punched them out with the 1″ Square Punch. I rounded the opposite corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder and did the same to the pieces of Melon Mambo that I punched out with the 1 3/8″ Square Punch. The greeting is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Stamp Set (Host(ess)) and is also stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper white and mounted it to another piece of Melon Mambo. They both have the bottom corners rounded and I also rounded the bottom of the card. I hope that you enjoyed today’s simple kids card.     Good morning and happy Wednesday! I like Wednesday’s because it means that we are half way through and that much closer to Friday! For this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge they provided us with this lovely sketch…

    I wanted to use as much Sale-A-Bration as I could for this card. I love all of the products in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog but these three are my favorites! I started with a card base of Poppy Parade and to that I choose a background of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (sale-A-Bration). The Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die (Occasions Mini) is a great product once you get the shims for your Big Shot correct. I use two of the plastic ones and then use my Paper Piercer to push the pieces through. I cut it in half and then punched out a piece of Very Vanilla with the 2 1/2″ Circle punch and cut that in half and placed it behind before adhering it to the DSP. I think it gives it a little more separation. The strip of Peach Parfait was flagged with the 1 3/8″ Square punch. It makes it so easy to add a flag to anything. Some Everyday Enchantment Brads from the Ribbon and Brad Pack (Sale-A-Bration) are placed along the bottom edge. I stamped an image from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) in Poppy Parade and backed it with some Calypso Coral and rounded the corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. It’s mounted on some Stampin’ Dimensionals and the flower at the top I punched out with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and placed another brad in the middle and the adhered it with a glue dot. The piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon is adhered with some Sticky Strip for extra staying power. To finish off the card I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. I love playing along with Mojo each week and hope that you enjoyed today’s card.
