Paper Craft Crew 228

Oh, the rain decided to stick around for another day, and I’ll say it agin, better than snow! Renee and I had a productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. She cut out lovely titles on the Cricut and I made some cards and did a lot of paperwork! I had text Andrew in the morning to tell him that I missed him and he came over last night with Pizza! We got all caught up! Isn’t it great when you have friends that you can just pick up where you left off with?! I also fished catching up with This is Us so I can watch yesterday’s episode tonight when I get home! Today, I’m off to Manhattan! Going to see my friend Ella in the morning and then head down to The Ink Pad to visit my friend Anna! I need a city day! 😀

Wednesday and time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I went nice and simple with lots of stamping! I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and heat embossed the circles from the Concord & 9th Love you, Mean It Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder twice. Using my ruler and a pencil I drew two lines down the card to serve as a guide for where I wanted my stamping. All of the images are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Pink, Soft Lilac, Red Royal and Lime Green. I erased the lines and then used the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies to cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card. A little Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive adheres it to the card. All that was left to do was to adhere the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock! I love the simplicity and the cascade of flowers, they were so much fun to stamp! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s card and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and visiting with me! Have a lovely Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 481

We are supposed to be getting a Nor’easter today! Thankfully not snow but lots of rain and high winds. Makes yesterday’s overcast weather seem quite nice! LOL! Renee, Angie and I had a productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I got some more administrative things finished and made my card for today. It was my Brother’s Birthday yesterday so I left the Store a little early, ran home and finished up a few things before heading out to his house for Dinner. Most of my time was spent playing with Daniel, what better way to spend a Sunday evening?! We had loads of fun, he has quite the extensive array of toys! When I got back to my house I watched Ever After, still one of my favorites. I’m a die hard romantic at heart! Today I have projects and all sorts of other fun things to do! Happy Monday! 😀

If you haven’t taken a look at the Lawn Fawn Pre-Order Sale that is going on over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Web Site you still have a few days to do so! 20% off the new release and FREE shipping over $50! Click HERE to check it out!

The start of a new week and of course a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I pulled out a favorite set of mine that I haven’t used in a long time! The flower and leaves are from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Ink using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and put aside while I worked on the rest of the card. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and for my background I used a piece of Photoplay This Guy 12×12 Paper. The half circle is cut from a piece of 48lb Vellum with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. Across the lower part of the card is a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Card Stock. I used it hide the adhesive for the vellum and adhered both to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a square of Dark Molasses which is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The flower and leaves are adhered to the square and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and Clear Droplets are added to complete the card! I do love that flower, especially against the dark wood and gold glitter really makes it pop! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery! Thank you for staring another week off here with me! Paper Craft Crew 227

A lovely, dreary, rainy day is what we had here yesterday. At least it wasn’t cold! Another fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store despite the weather. I got my card made for today and ran to the Post Office to mail out a few orders. Speaking of orders, thank you so much for them! It means a lot to me that you choose to get some of your crafty goodness from me! As a thank you to all of my faithful blog readers you can use discount code JKCARDSBLOG17 to take 10% off every order from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The discount can’t be combined with other discounts. And remember that all orders over $50 ship for FREE! Don’t forget about the two sales that are going on now as well! You can read more about that on yesterday’s blog post! I spent the rest of the day working on things and I also had the pleasure of speaking to my friend Anna from The Ink Pad! Oh how I miss her! The rest of my evening was the usual dinner and then TV. Not the most exciting person at night lately, I know. I’ll have to work on that! 😀

Let’s see… Wednesday, oh, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep my card clean and use only one stamp set so I pulled out one of my favorites! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half I added a piece of American Crafts Peacock Glitter Tape. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Tide Pool and Mint Julep and the leaves in Lime Green. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner and 3D Foam Squares. For the greeting I heat embossed the hello in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tropical Sea, flagged the right side and used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card. It needed a little bling and I wanted something different so I added a few gems from the Hero Arts Pool Mixed Accents and that did the trick! I love the colors together and the fun sparkle of the Peacock Glitter Tape! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and for your support! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 82 – Natural Elements!

Still not feeling great! It has been over a week, I’m over the stuffy head! I was only at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning, I left around 2:00 to go over and work on some things with my friend Sue. I got to see my friend Buddy too! He’s a 60+ pound lap dog! LOL! So lovable and cute though! After I left Sue’s I came home and had dinner with my Parent’s and then it was time for TV once again. I wish I had more energy when I get home, time go cold! 😀

I’m having another big SALE over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Web Store! You can take 30% off anything in the CHA Clearance section and 40% off all products in the 2016 Holiday collection! The sale is on through Wednesday! The codes are CHAFIN17 for the 30% and CHAHOLFIN17 for the 40%!

I did make a quick card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and that’s what I have to share with you today…

Ahh… Natural Elements, we all know how I enjoy a little woodgrain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I wanted a piece of newsprint and couldn’t find one so I went to good old Google and printed a sheet out from there. It’s cut out with the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies and adhered to the background with E-Z Runner. My tag is a piece of Kraft and I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp on it in Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting and all of the other images are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I heat embossed the greeting onto the bottom of the tag with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. My images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, the rose and bow in Red Royal and the leaves in Green Hills and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and used a Craft Knife to cut slits in the jar so I could pass the stem through. Everything except for the bow is adhered with Tombo Dot Runner. I used a 3D Foam Square to adhered the bow. A little dot of Multi-Matte Medium holds the twine in place and the card is done! I have said it before, I love the way flowers look against a woodgrain background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Natural Elements Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 270

Well, it definitely got colder here yesterday. It is supposed to warm up again next week and I look forward to that! I got my haircut in the morning and then ran over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to meet my friend Patrice. She showed me all of the cards that she has been working on recently and also gave me my Christmas card and a Get Well card that I will share with you soon! From there I went over to Heather’s to help with the move. We got a lot accomplished in a very short amount of time which was great. I went home for a little while and got caught up on my blog comments and took a little nap. I’m feeling much better but not 100% yet. Around 7:30 I headed over to George’s and the three of us went out to dinner in Huntington. We had Argentinian food, it was delicious. All small plates which was a great way to get a taste of a lot of different things. What nice way to end the day! Today is Renee’s anniversary crop so I’ll get to see some of the ladies! Always a good time!

When I got home last night I sat down and made a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A nice simple sketch deserves a nice simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Floral Background stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. I also heat embossed the same image onto a piece of Basic Gray with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Basic Gray panel is trimmed down to match the sketch. For my greeting I heat embossed one from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. Before I adhered the dark gray panel I added the greeting strip on the left and a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock to the right. A nice simple card but the embossing really adds a little wow! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a bit of your Saturday with me! Have a sensational day! 🙂

Grateful Wintry Leaf

Well, what snow we didn’t get on Friday we certainly got yesterday! I think the final total by my house was 6 inches and further out on the Island they got up 12 inches. When I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store it had just started. We decided to close early so I stopped by the Post Office to drop off a bunch of packages and then headed home. The roads were terrible, it was really cold so none of the snow melted. It was like you were driving on little tiny frozen marbles! Thank god for traction control! I’ll tell you, my little car is packed full of nice surprises! The rest of my evening was spent relaxing, I did make another quick card and today I want to get some projects finished at the Store. Hopefully they will have done something with the roads by morning! 😀

As I always say I do like to stretch my stamps and use them for more than what they are intended for and I think that we could all use a little more grateful in our lives! Today’s card uses a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Authentiqe Wintery 12×12 Paper. I heat embossed the leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. The coordinating dies are used to cut it out along with three pieces of Black 110lb that are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. On my strip of Kraft I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Onyx Black and adhered the strip over the leaf to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All that was left to do was to adhere the grateful to the strip with Multi-Matte Medium. A nice simple card that gets stepped up by the heat embossed Vellum leaf! I hope that you like today’s card! As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Stellar Sparkly City

The sun finally shone yesterday, nice and bright but it was wicked windy again. They are saying that we might get snow on Friday and Saturday. Big bummer! Renee and I had another lovely day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. The construction is winding down and the leaks have finally stopped! I worked on some of my projects and so did Renee. After work I had dinner with my Parents and talked to my friend Sue for a bit. Then I straightened up the house, got to keep on top of that! LOL! A quick run to get gas and to Target and then a little TV before bed. I have heard from a few people that I need to watch This is Us. Do any of you watch it and if so what do you think? 😀

It’s day three of my big sale over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Today all Hero Arts is 25% off! Use discount code CHANEW20173!

I actually made today’s card and then looked at this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and decided that it would work for the sketch…

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Kraft. From a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock and Gold Mirror Card I cut out the skyline and bridge using the Hero Arts Skyline Fancy Dies. I cut the skyline apart so that it would cover the entire length of the card and adhered it with E-Z Runner, the bridge is adhered with 3m Foam Tape. My tag is a pice of Ionized Curious Metallic that I cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies, the reinforcement is cut from Gold Glitter Card Stock. I adhered the reinforcement to the tag and then tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine though the top. My greeting and all of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Versa-Mark and Onyx Black onto 48lb Vellum. The Onyx Black ones are heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and the bicycle and camera are heat embossed in Gold and Silver. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out everything except the cassette tape, that’s cut out with my Scissors, and used a combination of E-Z Runner and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhered them to the tag. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold onto another piece of 48lb Vellum and adhered around the back of the tag. I added some 3M Foam Tape to the tag to adhere it to the card. You know how much I love a city scene card and this one may just be my favorite! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for taking some time to come by and visit! Have a super Thursday! 🙂

Bon Voyage 2016

Angie and I had a very pleasant day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and it was pretty busy too! Heather stopped by around 2:00 and I ran across the street with her to NY & Company so she could pick up a few things. After work I came home and watched a little TV, had tacos for dinner, made my card for today and watched some more TV. I don’t have any special plans for this evening so I may just watch a few movies before the ball drops. Sometimes a nice quiet evening at home is a good thing, even on New Year’s Eve! 😀

I had this image in my head of a map with planes on it so I pulled out my June My Monthly Hero Kit and made a quick card to bid farewell to 2016! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Kraft covering the front. My papers are from the DCWV Maps, Text & Ledgers 8×8 Paper Pad. I adhered them on angles with E-Z Runner and curled up some of the corners. The planes and suitcase are cut from Real Red, Galvanized Metallic, Bermuda Bay and Kraft. They are adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. My greeting is also from the June Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and adhered to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. The June My Monthly Hero Kit is still one of my favorites and I do love a little map paper, especially when it depicts a place that I really want to go! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for checking in one last time in 2016! I wish all of you a very happy, healthy and crafty New Year! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 268

It felt good to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! I had a few orders to get out and Renee, Angie and I all worked on projects. I left the Store a little early to come home and give my house a thorough cleaning. Need to get everything spruced up for the New Year! I had a little dinner with a friend and then watched some TV and went through some pictures on the Apple TV. Today I have a ton of projects to work on, I’ll be a busy boy! 🙂

My card that I have to share with you today is for the final Freshly Made Sketches of 2016…

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and folded in half. I covered the front with a piece of Slate Gray and then added a panel of Battleship Gray. I stamped my images from the Hero Arts December My Monthly Hero Kit in Memento Tuxedo Black on Kraft and colored them in with my Prismacolor Pencils. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. My main panel is Wildflower Honey, I arranged the images onto it and then stamped the cork popping and little bursts in Versa-Mark. They are heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder, the images are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting is also from the December Kit and is cut from a piece of Silver Glitter Card Stock and two pieces of Black. I adhered them to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray and then to the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen on the champagne bottle and hat along with just a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I really do love that Hero Kit and the fun gray and yellow combo! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Vintage Snowglobe Christmas

Happy Christmas everyone! I had a nice relaxing day yesterday! In the morning I went over and met Heather and we ran a few errands before heading back to Geroge’s to have some lunch with him. After that I came home and watched a little TV, had dinner and then crafted for a bit. I did run out and do my last minute shopping and it was actually quite pleasant! Today I’ll be at my Parent’s house looking forward to watching Daniel open his presents! 🙂

I’ll keep today’s post short and sweet! This is a card that I made a few weeks ago and didn’t like! You can let me know what you think of it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background Stamped stamped in Tide Pool. The images in my shaker are from the Hero Arts Vintage Wishes Stamp & Die Combo, the snowman is stamped in Black and the trees in Soft Pool. For the front of my shaker I partially die cut the Jar Frame Cuts that coordinates with the Hero Arts Winter Scene Stamp & Die Combo from a piece of Tropical Sea and heat embossed the top of the jar in Hero Arts Platinum and Silver Embossing Powders. I assembled my shaker and all that was left to do was stamp the greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and add it under the jar! I don’t know what it was that I didn’t like about the card but now that I look at it it’s not so bad! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for spending a little of your Christmas with me! 🙂
