SIP Challenge 82 – Natural Elements!

Still not feeling great! It has been over a week, I’m over the stuffy head! I was only at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning, I left around 2:00 to go over and work on some things with my friend Sue. I got to see my friend Buddy too! He’s a 60+ pound lap dog! LOL! So lovable and cute though! After I left Sue’s I came home and had dinner with my Parent’s and then it was time for TV once again. I wish I had more energy when I get home, time go cold! 😀

I’m having another big SALE over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Web Store! You can take 30% off anything in the CHA Clearance section and 40% off all products in the 2016 Holiday collection! The sale is on through Wednesday! The codes are CHAFIN17 for the 30% and CHAHOLFIN17 for the 40%!

I did make a quick card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and that’s what I have to share with you today…

Ahh… Natural Elements, we all know how I enjoy a little woodgrain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I wanted a piece of newsprint and couldn’t find one so I went to good old Google and printed a sheet out from there. It’s cut out with the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies and adhered to the background with E-Z Runner. My tag is a piece of Kraft and I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp on it in Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting and all of the other images are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I heat embossed the greeting onto the bottom of the tag with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. My images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, the rose and bow in Red Royal and the leaves in Green Hills and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and used a Craft Knife to cut slits in the jar so I could pass the stem through. Everything except for the bow is adhered with Tombo Dot Runner. I used a 3D Foam Square to adhered the bow. A little dot of Multi-Matte Medium holds the twine in place and the card is done! I have said it before, I love the way flowers look against a woodgrain background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Natural Elements Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 270

    Freshly Made Sketches 270

Well, it definitely got colder here yesterday. It is supposed to warm up again next week and I look forward to that! I got my haircut in the morning and then ran over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to meet my friend Patrice. She showed me all of the cards that she has been working on recently and also gave me my Christmas card and a Get Well card that I will share with you soon! From there I went over to Heather’s to help with the move. We got a lot accomplished in a very short amount of time which was great. I went home for a little while and got caught up on my blog comments and took a little nap. I’m feeling much better but not 100% yet. Around 7:30 I headed over to George’s and the three of us went out to dinner in Huntington. We had Argentinian food, it was delicious. All small plates which was a great way to get a taste of a lot of different things. What nice way to end the day! Today is Renee’s anniversary crop so I’ll get to see some of the ladies! Always a good time!

When I got home last night I sat down and made a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A nice simple sketch deserves a nice simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Floral Background stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. I also heat embossed the same image onto a piece of Basic Gray with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Basic Gray panel is trimmed down to match the sketch. For my greeting I heat embossed one from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. Before I adhered the dark gray panel I added the greeting strip on the left and a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock to the right. A nice simple card but the embossing really adds a little wow! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a bit of your Saturday with me! Have a sensational day! 🙂

  • Grateful Wintry Leaf

    Grateful Wintry Leaf

Well, what snow we didn’t get on Friday we certainly got yesterday! I think the final total by my house was 6 inches and further out on the Island they got up 12 inches. When I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store it had just started. We decided to close early so I stopped by the Post Office to drop off a bunch of packages and then headed home. The roads were terrible, it was really cold so none of the snow melted. It was like you were driving on little tiny frozen marbles! Thank god for traction control! I’ll tell you, my little car is packed full of nice surprises! The rest of my evening was spent relaxing, I did make another quick card and today I want to get some projects finished at the Store. Hopefully they will have done something with the roads by morning! 😀

As I always say I do like to stretch my stamps and use them for more than what they are intended for and I think that we could all use a little more grateful in our lives! Today’s card uses a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Authentiqe Wintery 12×12 Paper. I heat embossed the leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. The coordinating dies are used to cut it out along with three pieces of Black 110lb that are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. On my strip of Kraft I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Onyx Black and adhered the strip over the leaf to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All that was left to do was to adhere the grateful to the strip with Multi-Matte Medium. A nice simple card that gets stepped up by the heat embossed Vellum leaf! I hope that you like today’s card! As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

  • Stellar Sparkly City

    Stellar Sparkly City

The sun finally shone yesterday, nice and bright but it was wicked windy again. They are saying that we might get snow on Friday and Saturday. Big bummer! Renee and I had another lovely day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. The construction is winding down and the leaks have finally stopped! I worked on some of my projects and so did Renee. After work I had dinner with my Parents and talked to my friend Sue for a bit. Then I straightened up the house, got to keep on top of that! LOL! A quick run to get gas and to Target and then a little TV before bed. I have heard from a few people that I need to watch This is Us. Do any of you watch it and if so what do you think? 😀

It’s day three of my big sale over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Today all Hero Arts is 25% off! Use discount code CHANEW20173!

I actually made today’s card and then looked at this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and decided that it would work for the sketch…

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Kraft. From a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock and Gold Mirror Card I cut out the skyline and bridge using the Hero Arts Skyline Fancy Dies. I cut the skyline apart so that it would cover the entire length of the card and adhered it with E-Z Runner, the bridge is adhered with 3m Foam Tape. My tag is a pice of Ionized Curious Metallic that I cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies, the reinforcement is cut from Gold Glitter Card Stock. I adhered the reinforcement to the tag and then tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine though the top. My greeting and all of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Versa-Mark and Onyx Black onto 48lb Vellum. The Onyx Black ones are heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and the bicycle and camera are heat embossed in Gold and Silver. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out everything except the cassette tape, that’s cut out with my Scissors, and used a combination of E-Z Runner and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhered them to the tag. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold onto another piece of 48lb Vellum and adhered around the back of the tag. I added some 3M Foam Tape to the tag to adhere it to the card. You know how much I love a city scene card and this one may just be my favorite! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for taking some time to come by and visit! Have a super Thursday! 🙂

  • Bon Voyage 2016

    Bon Voyage 2016

Angie and I had a very pleasant day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and it was pretty busy too! Heather stopped by around 2:00 and I ran across the street with her to NY & Company so she could pick up a few things. After work I came home and watched a little TV, had tacos for dinner, made my card for today and watched some more TV. I don’t have any special plans for this evening so I may just watch a few movies before the ball drops. Sometimes a nice quiet evening at home is a good thing, even on New Year’s Eve! 😀

I had this image in my head of a map with planes on it so I pulled out my June My Monthly Hero Kit and made a quick card to bid farewell to 2016! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Kraft covering the front. My papers are from the DCWV Maps, Text & Ledgers 8×8 Paper Pad. I adhered them on angles with E-Z Runner and curled up some of the corners. The planes and suitcase are cut from Real Red, Galvanized Metallic, Bermuda Bay and Kraft. They are adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. My greeting is also from the June Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and adhered to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. The June My Monthly Hero Kit is still one of my favorites and I do love a little map paper, especially when it depicts a place that I really want to go! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for checking in one last time in 2016! I wish all of you a very happy, healthy and crafty New Year! 🙂

It felt good to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! I had a few orders to get out and Renee, Angie and I all worked on projects. I left the Store a little early to come home and give my house a thorough cleaning. Need to get everything spruced up for the New Year! I had a little dinner with a friend and then watched some TV and went through some pictures on the Apple TV. Today I have a ton of projects to work on, I’ll be a busy boy! 🙂

My main panel is Wildflower Honey, I arranged the images onto it and then stamped the cork popping and little bursts in Versa-Mark. They are heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder, the images are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting is also from the December Kit and is cut from a piece of Silver Glitter Card Stock and two pieces of Black. I adhered them to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray and then to the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen on the champagne bottle and hat along with just a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Gold Sequins and the card is finished! • Vintage Snowglobe Christmas

    Vintage Snowglobe Christmas

Happy Christmas everyone! I had a nice relaxing day yesterday! In the morning I went over and met Heather and we ran a few errands before heading back to Geroge’s to have some lunch with him. After that I came home and watched a little TV, had dinner and then crafted for a bit. I did run out and do my last minute shopping and it was actually quite pleasant! Today I’ll be at my Parent’s house looking forward to watching Daniel open his presents! 🙂

I’ll keep today’s post short and sweet! This is a card that I made a few weeks ago and didn’t like! You can let me know what you think of it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background Stamped stamped in Tide Pool. The images in my shaker are from the Hero Arts Vintage Wishes Stamp & Die Combo, the snowman is stamped in Black and the trees in Soft Pool. For the front of my shaker I partially die cut the Jar Frame Cuts that coordinates with the Hero Arts Winter Scene Stamp & Die Combo from a piece of Tropical Sea and heat embossed the top of the jar in Hero Arts Platinum and Silver Embossing Powders. I assembled my shaker and all that was left to do was stamp the greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and add it under the jar! I don’t know what it was that I didn’t like about the card but now that I look at it it’s not so bad! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! • Golden Pewter Pine Joy

    Golden Pewter Pine Joy

It was just me and Angie at the Store yesterday. Renee headed down to her Parent’s with Nicholas for Christmas. I had a few orders to take to the Post Office and then some people came in to pick up a few things I had on hold. Heather went to the New York & Co. across the street so I met her there and then we stopped back at the Store to get my things. I stopped home and then went over to Geroge’s for a bit. The rest of the evening was quiet, dinner with my Parent’s and then a few movies. Today I have some projects to work on and some last minute gifts to get, I always wait until the last minute to shop! 🙂

I did make a card last night too. I like the simple elegant feel I think that it has. I used the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background Stamp and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Basic Gray. Then I used the Concord & 9th Joy Die to cut out the letters and adhered them with 3M Foam Tape to a piece of Champagne Curious Metallic. Across the bottom of my card base, Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I adhered a piece of Gold Washi Tape. I then adhered the panel with the Joy using E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My pine boughs are cut from Galvanized Curious Metallic using the Concord & 9th Take a Bough Die. I snipped them in half and adhered them behind the panel with more E-Z Runner. A very simple but elegant card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks for my Christmas Eve visit! I wish you all a very Happy Christmas! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 224

    Paper Craft Crew 224

Brrrr! It’s still cold here! The good news, it’s supposed to go up into the 40’s for the first day of Winter! I’m happy report that I got a lot done at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, not everything that I wanted to but other things came up and needed to be taken care of. Isn’t that always how the day goes?! I had another person make my Holiday Ornament yesterday… Renee’s boyfriend John sat and made one and he did a great job! Angie is on vacation from her day job so she has been at the store, we have had a lot of laughs! After work I had dinner with my Parent’s. They took Winston for a haircut yesterday and he looks all snazzy just in time for Christmas. I had a few errands to run and then I relaxed for a bit. Today I will tackling some more things on my to-do list and then we are having an early edition of Thirsty Thursday tonight! 😀

One of the things that I worked on  yesterday was my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I had the urge to use my Prismacolor Pencils again so I pulled out one of my favorite images to color! That image is from the Concord & 9th Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it a few times in Hero Arts Intense Black using my Mini MISTI onto a piece of Kraft and then went to work coloring. When I had finished I went back in with my black pencil and darkened in some of the lines and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped the same way. For the background I used another image from the set and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Bronze Embossing Powder. For the card base I used my usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Black. The background is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I did the same to adhere the cake and greeting. I really am enjoying my colored pencils and am especially happy with the way the flower centers turned out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Paper Craft Crew challenge of 2016! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • Colorful String of Lights

    Colorful String of Lights

We had a somewhat overcast day all day yesterday. But it was bright and fun inside the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte! Renee had her cookie exchange and it was a good time! My Parents stopped by and picked up some of the chocolate that Cara makes for Daniel and had some of the cookies that I asked my friend Melissa to make! My Grandmother always made Coconut Wheaties and they have always been my favorite! They were also the winner of the cookie exchange! They tasted just like my Grandmother’s, even my Dad agreed! Melissa also gave my scarf that she made for me yesterday! I LOVE it! Here is a quick pic of me wearing it…

I love the colors and it’s an infinity scarf, fits around my neck twice perfectly! You can also see that the scaffolding is still up! Will it ever go away?! Today I have the new release from Lawn Fawn coming as well as a few goodies from My Favorite Things! 😀

The card front for today’s card has been sitting on my desk for almost a month so I thought that it was about time I completed the card! I took a piece of Lemon Lime Card Stock and used the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Lawn Cuts to cut out the negatives of the lights. I then cut the string from a piece of Black and the tops of the bulbs from Silver Glitter Paper. My greeting is from the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice. The sparkles around the lights are from the same set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. I adhered the string and silver bulb tops to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and then adhered a piece of Acetate with E-Z Runner to the back. Next I created wells for the sequins with 3M Foam Tape and filled them with Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Pansy Purple, Lemon Drop, Cobalt and Pumpkin Sequins. All that was left to do was adhered the card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to the back and the card is finished! I think that it’s a very festive card that will go to someone special! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for starting your week off with a visit to the Blog! Have a merry Monday! 🙂
