OSAT November Blog Hop – Let it Snow!

    osat-blog-hop-banner

It was a gloomy day here on Long Island yesterday, it rained on and off. They continued the construction at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store but this time it was really noisy! Hopefully it will be done soon! I worked on a few projects at the Store and my friend Dianne stopped by, always nice to see her! I went straight over to Heather’s after work. She is leaving tomorrow for Florida, there will be no Thirsty Thursday this week. We had a nice evening, got some Subway for dinner and I helped her pack. This morning I’m off to Manhattan for a bit to see Ella. We know how I enjoy a little trip into the city!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my friend Pam Staples blog, welcome! This month we have a Let it Snow theme! Not that I want it to snow at all! LOL!! I have a card and some coordinating gift tags that I made with one of my favorite Hero Arts Sets to share with you!

First up is the card! I started with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and added a piece of Echo Park This & That 12×12 Paper for my background. I stamped the coffee cup from the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags & Dies Combo in Lime Green using my Mini MISTI to stamp it twice. The whipped cream is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Puff Embossing powder and then the cup and cream are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. My mittens and greeting are from the Hero Arts Christmas Mittens Stamp & Die Combo and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the mittens and flagged the left side of the greeting banner. They are all adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I added just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and a Gold Heat Embossed holly bunch to the coffee cup and the card is done! I do love that Coffee Cup Set… hmmm… might have something to do with my obsession with coffee?! 😀

    osat-november-blog-hop-card-wm

Next I have three gift tags. They were super easy to make especially since I stamped them at the same time I stamped the pieces for the card! The sleeve and to and from are stamped in Red Royal. I punched a hole in the left side and added some Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Single Cord Lawn Trimmings. For a little extra something I heat embossed one of the snowflakes from the Holiday Mittens Stamp & Die Combo in Hero Arts White Puff Embossing Powder and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. They are adhered to the tags with 3D Foam Squares. Quick and easy Holiday tags, way better than store bought!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and gift tags  for the OSAT Let it Snow Blog Hop! You can click on the continue button below to start the tour from the beginning and you will see what the talented Anna Smith has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂

    Paper Craft Crew 218

I had a very nice day yesterday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was a good time! I managed to get two cards made, run some errands and place some much needed orders! I snuck out a little early so that I could get to see Daniel before he went home. We had dinner together, he’s a slow eater, especially when he’s watching his hiPad! We played for a bit and then Andrew came over for a visit. He is helping me with a little project related to the store. Hopefully we will have it finished in a week or two! I’m excited to share with you what we are up to! After Andrew left I went over and met Heather and we stopped by Geroge’s and then picked up a few things at Target. When we got back to her house she made some fried green tomatoes and they were delicious! I had a bunch of things to do when I got home so by the time I made it into bed it was after 12:30. Today is a busy day here on the blog, I have the Paper Craft Crew post which you are reading now and at 11:00 I will have my post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge, so be sure to come back for that one too!

Speaking of the Paper Craft Crew we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board for you this week…

    pcccs218-dt-tic-tac-toe-11-09-2016

To start off today’s card I took a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Soft Purple and Tide Pool Ink to it. I then die cut the Hero Arts Jar Frame Cuts from it and stamped the snowflakes from the Hero Arts Wintertime Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Tide Pool. Across the bottom is a piece of Kaiser Craft Mademoiselle 12×12 Paper with the bottom of the jar cut from it. I adhered it to the panel and then adhered a piece of Acetate to the back. On the jar that I die cut I stamped the jar in Tide Pool and the images from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set. The snow is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, the house is stamped in Soft Brown and the tree in Green Hills. Next up I die cut the Jar from two pieces of Fun Foam and adhered them to each other and the a card base of Solar White 110lb with E-Z Runner and E-Z Runner Micro. I added a piece of American Crafts Powder Glitter Tape down the right side. The stamped jar is then adhered inside the well and some Iridescent Seed Beads and Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are added before adhering the panel to the card. Last but not least I stamped my greeting in Cup O Joe, it’s from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set. I still love that Winter Scene Set, the jar definitely makes a fun shaker! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! We hope that you will stop by the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery after getting some inspiration from the rest of the Team! Thank you for coming by this morning, I hope to see you back here a little later on for my second post! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 73 – Grateful!

    SIP Challenge 73 – Grateful!

That was a Monday for sure. I woke up with a little bit of a headache, but it wasn’t too bad. It was hot in the apartment so I’m guessing that’s why. I had a nice quiet ride to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and managed to get two cards made in the morning. The headache got worse as the day progressed and I finally took some Excedrin around 4:30. It had gotten a little bit better by the time I headed home and I felt much better after dinner. I ran a few errands and watched some crafty YouTube videos before calling it a night. Today I want to focus on planning out my classes and future events a little better. I need to work on that, I’m not the greatest at planning ahead! 😀

So, today is Tuesday and that means that there is a new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

    sip-challenge-73

I have to say that the grateful die in the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaves set is probably one of my favorites of all time! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I die cut the grateful from a piece of Deep Blue and then traced the outline onto the card base. I then heat embossed the sentient and leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. While it doesn’t seem complicated it sure did tale a long time to adhere all of those Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins! I kept checking to make sure that I hadn’t missed any spots! After the Multi-Matte Medium dried I put some 3D Foam Squares around the sequins and added Fun Foam to the top and then adhered the panel to the card. I did take a picture of what it looked like before I put it together…

    sip-73-sequins-wm

Messy cluster of sequins! Just a few more Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I do love the look of all of the sequins through the die cut grateful, it almost looks like it’s a shaker! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We hope that you will stop by the BLOG and get some inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and share your card with us! Thanks for your visit today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

    Mojo Monday 473

Another weekend done! I enjoyed mine and hope that you all did too! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun for day two of the crop. I really do enjoy spending time with everyone! My friend Sandy came by to visit me, love when she pops in! I have some serious ordering to do today, need to get things restocked. I’m also working on a bunch of kits as a trial. They will be very limited edition to start and depending on how they do there will be many more (hopefully!)! After work I enjoyed a little time with my Parents and then came home and straightened up. Andrew’s Mum stopped by to pick up two thank you cards that she had asked me to make. We had a nice little visit, she’s such a sweet lady! I also got to see Taylor briefly, nice to know that she’s still around! We are to have nice weather here all week, cool but sunny! I can deal with that! 😀

It’s Monday so we are starting the week off here on the blog with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    mojo473

You know how I love my non-traditional Holiday cards, well I like to think of this one as Christmas in Key West! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Carta Bella Beach Day Surf Shop 12×12 Paper for my background and across the lower half is a piece of Candied Yam. My panel is a piece of Mosaic Blue that I heat embossed my greeting from the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I backed it with a piece of Silver Glitter Paper and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The cute Christmas bulbs are cut out with the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Lawn Cuts. I cut the backers from Solar White 80lb and the fronts from Tropical Sea, Candied Yam, Lemon Lime, Classic Cherry and Lemon Sorbet. The tops are cut from more Silver Glitter Paper. I adhered all of the pieces together and then adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A piece of Lawn Fawn Silver Sparkle Single Cord Lawn Trimmings is threaded through them and the ends are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. For a little sparkle I added Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze, Tangerine, Lime Sorbet, Raspberry, Lemon, Cobalt and Silver Sequins. When I look at this card I see a string of lights on a little beach shack, see why I said Christmas in Key West?! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and lets see your take in the gallery! I thank you so much for starting your week off here, with me! Joyful Forest Deer

And how are all of you today?! I’m doing pretty well! I had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, got a few things accomplished and my friend Sue surprised me with a visit! Surprise drop-ins at the Store are always fun! Renee left early to spend some time with her grandkids and I ended up getting to speak to Michael for a bit before I headed home. My Mum had my dinner ready for me, I’m a little spoiled I know, when I did get home! After dinner I spent some time with my Parents and then Sue stopped by my house to pick up some things that she ordered. Twice in one day! Woo hoo! After Sue left I straightened up around the house and then ran to the bank, gas station and Target. Today I want to continue to get ahead of my projects and there is a crop so I’ll get to see all of the ladies! 😀

I have a simple Holiday card to share with you that I made the other day. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a few of the greetings from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and mounted them to an acrylic block and then stamped them going from upper left to lower right in Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink. Around the left side I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine in a bow at the top and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. Next up is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Squares Stackables Lawn Cuts. The images are from the Hero Arts Vintage Christmas Wishes Stamp & Die Combo, I stamped the trees in Green Fields and the deer in Cup O Joe and then adhered the square to the card with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Lemon Lime that is then adhered to the card with still more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Just a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is done! See, not too complicated and I really just wanted to stamp! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Hello my friends! We have reached the mid-way point in the week! It is warming up here again! Yay! The heat is back on in my apartment and it has been 86 degrees for the past two days. A little too warm for inside the house! I was nice and busy at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! I got some cards made for this month’s Card Class and Renee had her Monthly Memories Class. After work I headed home and had a quick dinner with my Parent’s and then headed over to Heather’s. We ran to BJ’s and then hung out at her place waiting for the new tenant to come by. Heather is selling most of the furniture and it kind of works out perfectly because the girl that’s moving in is coming from her parent’s so she doesn’t have much! Today I will finish the rest of the cards and work on some more upcoming classes. Love my job! 😀

If it’s Wednesday then I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    pcccs217-dt-sketch-11-02-2016

I have been wanting to use the Altenew Coffee Love Photopolymer Stamp Set again for a while and it worked perfectly with the sketch! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Hero Arts Fabulous Flourish Background onto a piece of Blue Mint with Hero Arts Navy Ink and then adhered it to the card to cover the entire front. Some Champagne Curious Metallic is cut out with the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities and adhered over to the left. On top of that is a piece of Navy that I cut out with the die from the Hero Arts Kelly’s To Do List Stamp & Cut Set. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My images and greeting are from that Altenew Coffee Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Espresso Pot in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Galvanized Curious Metallic and the cups in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto some Slate. They are cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is heat embossed onto another piece of Slate in more White and adhered under the panel with more 3D Foam Squares. I added some Little Things by Lucy Nautical and Platinum Sequins Mix randomly and the card is done! I love that Coffee Love Set and I have been really into the blues lately! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the cards from my other Teammates and enter your card in the gallery! I thank you for your visit today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Happy day after Halloween! Have you recovered from your candy comas yet?! It was chilly here yesterday but sunny and the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store closed early yesterday so that Renee and I could go and spend a little quality time with our families! I did get my Hero Arts order and got that checked in and also got my new Kindle! I started reading the The Atlantis Gene, it was a free read on Amazon Prime! It’s pretty good so far! After I left the Store I headed home and met up with my Parents and we drove out to my Brother’s house. Daniel was Marshall from Paw Patrol and Tristan was an elephant! We Trick-or-Treated for a while and then had dinner. Here are some pics along with a selfie of Daniel and I that he said I should take!

And yes, my brother made the firetruck! He’s pretty talented too! We had so much fun with them! Today I need to get some things accomplished at the Store and also finish up some projects. I know, I’m always finishing up projects! LOL! 😀

Let’s see… its Tuesday! Time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    sip-sketch-challenge-72-800

My card for today starts off with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Winter Petite Paper Pad down the middle to the left a little. My star is cut from American Crafts Glitter Card Stock with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Stars Lawn Cuts, I punched a hole in the bottom with my Crop-A-Dile. The greeting is from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder onto a piece of Battleship Gray that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags Lawn Cuts. I tied the large star to the small one with Lawn Fawn Silver Single Cord Lawn Trimmings and adhered the large star to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My seal is created using the Lawn Fawn Narwhal & Friends Lawn Cuts. I cut him out of Black, Slate and Battleship Gray and adhered him together with Dot Runner Adhesive. He is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I think that this may very well be Daniel’s Christmas Card! Love that little seal, he’s so cute! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! It was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday morning! I even got to ride to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store with the top down in the car! YAY! Around 5:00PM the heavens opened and it poured! Like flood the streets in minutes poured! I did enjoy the day though! Angie was at the store when I got there and Taylor arrived just before 10:00AM. We had a nice day, I had a very productive day, I made four cards! I love to get ahead! I also finished Inferno, what a great book, just like all of his others! I’m looking for other books similar to it so if any of you have any suggestions please share! After work I drove home in the torrential downpour and had dinner with my Parent’s. Then I came to my house and straightened up a bit before running to BJ’s, I was almost out of coffee! The rest of my evening was spent relaxing, I try to make Sunday evenings as calm and peaceful as I can. Today I want to get my Newsletter out and hopefully my Hero order will arrive! Fingers crossed! 😀

Why… I do believe that it’s Monday and you know what that means! Time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

    mojo472

I love the little Kelly’s Sets by Hero and I used two different ones on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and for my background I used a piece of Shale. The large partial circle on the left is cut from a piece of Bo Bunny Soiree 12×12 Paper with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies and is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I die cut a piece of Silver Glitter Paper also with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies and cut a piece of Fun Foam with a smaller one. A little E-Z Runner adheres the Fun Foam to the circle and then to the card. Next up is a flagged strip of Slate adhered to the lower half of the card across the circles. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Kelly’s Warm & Cozy Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black and also cut out with the Infinity Circles. More Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adhere it to the card. The little snowflake is from the Hero Arts Kelly’s S’mitten Stamp & Cut Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder onto a piece of Battleship Gray and cut out with the Coordinating Die. Some 3D Foam Squares hold it in place. Of course there had to be sequins! Some Pretty Pink Posh Platinum, Silver and Marshmallow to be precise! A pretty simple card that gets amped up by the heat embossing and the glitter paper! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to visit the BLOG and check out the other Design Team member’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for beginning your week with me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

    Winter Forest Snow Globe

Oh how I love a day in Manhattan! I took the 8:11 train in, it was 8 minutes late as is usually the case with a morning train on the weekend. Once in the city I made my way up to 86th Street on the 1 train and headed to Starbucks to get a Venti Chili Mocha (my new favorite drink!). From there I went and saw my friends Jon and Mary for a while and then Joe and Penny. Around 2:00 I called Anna to see if she was at The Ink Pad, she was so I went down to spend some time with her. We had a nice chat discussing store stuff and made plans to get together for dinner soon! I made it back to Penn Station in time to get the 6:12 back out to the Island and had dinner with my Parent’s. Between the train and spending a few hours reading once I got home I’m almost finished with Inferno! I’m enjoying the book immensely and I’m sure that the movie will be great too! Today I’m alone at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, Renee is going to see Jersey Boys with her Mum and Sister. Hopefully it will be a project filled day! 😀

I finally got to play with the My Monthly Hero Kit from this month and made a fun snow globe shaker! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the front of the shaker I used the snow globe die to cut out the negative from a piece of Solar White 80lb and two pieces of Fun Foam. I laid the panel on the card and traced a circle with my pencil so I would know where to stamp the trees and add the snow banks. Speaking of the trees, they are stamped in Green Fields and the snow banks are cut from more Solar White 80lb. An additional tree is stamped and die cut and then all of the pieces are added to the card front including the deer which I stamped in Cup O Joe and also die cut. A few snow flakes are stamped on the card front from the Wintertime Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set in the Silver Ink included in the Kit. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the front panel and then adhered the two layers of Fun Foam to the card front adding a generous amount of the shaker beads and sequins included in the kit to my well. The bottom of the snow globe is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder along with the greeting from the Kit Stamp Set and it’s adhered to the card to finish off my scene! A fun card where the shaker is the star of the show! I hope that you like my card for today! You visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a simple Sunday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 260

Its Saturday… right?! Just kidding! I know that it’s Saturday today because I’m heading into Manhattan for the day! I’m going to see a few friends and wander for a bit! I had an unfocused day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I made the mistake of starting to read a book on my iPad. I haven’t read a book in years and forgot how nice it is to get lost in the pages! The book I’m reading is Inferno by Dan Brown. He’s one of my favorite authors! I couldn’t put it down! I also wanted to read it before I see the movie! My friend Marianne also came in for class early so we chatted for a while! It’s not a bad way to spend the day, I’ll get back in the swing on Sunday! 😀

Today I have a simple card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I really like the Tag Sets by Lia from Hero and think that they are a great way to make a nice quick card! My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock with front covered in a piece of Dark Molasses. The background is a piece of Kaiser Craft Mademoiselle Collection 12×12 Paper and I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My tag is from the Hero Arts Joyful Tidings Tag Set by Lia, I die cut it from a piece of Forest Green and heat embossed the greeting from the set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied through the top and it’s adhered over a piece of Kraft with the left side flagged using more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I had to add just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to give the card a little sparkle and movement! So what do you think? The tag makes a pretty nice simple card, right?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for visiting today! Have a simple and fun Saturday! 🙂
