    Floral Merry Christmas

Happy weekend! It was another chilly day yesterday and we are to have some snow and rain today. The only consolation is that tomorrow it’s supposed get up into the 50’s! What a nice day I had at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The Card Class was great and everyone had a fun time! The night group is always a great group and they all had their cards finished in two hours! After work I headed over to Heather’s to help her take some of the Christmas presents over to Geroge’s house. He was out to dinner with friends so I got Heather on a Friday night! We laughed and watched some YouTube videos before I headed home around 12:30. Today Renee has a No-Frills Crop so I will get to see some of my ladies! I also have the pleasure of attending my old job’s Holiday Party! I’m going to pick up Danielle and head over later on tonight! It will be fun to see everyone again!

I just had to share this picture of Daniel and Tristan, it was one of the ones that they choose for their Christmas card this year…

    daniel-tristan-xmas-2016

They are both just so cute! It looks like they should be in a children’s clothing ad! I know, I’m biased! 😀

Today I have a quick simple card to share with you that uses a spring themed die for a Christmas card! I used the Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame Fancy Die to cut out the center of a piece of Herb Garden. To make some of the flowers and butterflies stand out I used my Versa-Mark Pen and some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder! I die cut the merry using the Hero Arts Merry Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Set from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and two pieces of Black 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The frame is then held over a piece of Chinese Red and the merry is put into place so that I could determine where to heat emboss the Christmas. I adhered the red to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Some 3M Foam Tape pieces are added to the back of the frame and it’s adhered to the red. I adhered the merry to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and used some more to add a bunch of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I do love that Floral Frame, especially with the small heat embossed sections and think that it makes for pretty Christmas card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for stopping by! Have a sensational Saturday! 🙂

  • Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class!

Well, I think that I experienced a new level of freeing cold yesterday! Not so much the temperature which was 22 but the wind was had gusts up to 60mph! It was the kind of cold that gets into your bones and you can’t get rid of it! Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun! My friend Jan comes in between the two times so she can be nice and relaxed! She does such a great job when she does! I had to run out to the Post Office, I drove because it was way too cold and windy to walk! Renee and I spent the rest of the day finishing up projects and around 5:15 my little buddy Daniel called me to ask me when I was coming home because he was waiting for me! I left at 5:30, can’t keep that little boy waiting! When I got my Parent’s I had dinner with him and Taylor. After he showed me a new truck that he wants, I’m sure that my Parent’s have already bought it! LOL! He also insisted that we take a selfie! He members better than I do!

    daniel-me-12-2016

As you can see from the picture he was trying to push the button! My Parents took him home around 7:00 and I headed over to Heather’s to get her so that we could run some errands. We finished that quickly and went back to her house. I helped her wrap one of George’s Christmas Gifts and was home by 10:30. Today is the second day of Card Class sure to be even more fun! 🙂

I have seen a few requests in the comments recently asking me to share more of the things that I do at the Store so today I’m sharing the four projects that we made in this month’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class. The featured company is Hero Arts!

The first card is the shaker! I used the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies to cut out the window from a piece of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Fun Foam. Then I traced the inside the window onto a piece of Moonstone Blue. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cup O Joe and the snowflakes from the Hero Arts Holiday Mittens Stamp & Die Combo in Tide Pool. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Black. Next I added the Acetate to the back of the white panel and and then adhered the Fun Foam with E-Z Runner. Some Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter is sprinkled on the blue and then the white window panel is adhered to it with more E-Z Runner. My tree is from the Hero Arts Snowy Tree Stamp & Die Combo, it’s stamped in Mint Julep and Tide Pool. I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying so that I could emboss the snow layer in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. The tree is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I love the card, it’s a simple shaker but looks like you are looking out of an apartment window at the Brooklyn Bridge in the snow!

    sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-2

The second card is another simple Christmas card. I stamped the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background onto a piece of Solar White 80lb with Mint Julep Ink. My tags are from the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Stamp & Die Combo. The large tag is stamped in Dark Quatz and the smaller one is heat embossed with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Next I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine into a bow and adhered the panel to my card base of Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The tags are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins are added with two to hide the adhesive holding on the Vellum tag. Love the simplicity of the card and the different colors!

    sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-1

My third card is actually one that I CASE’d from Yana Smakula! As soon as I saw the card I loved it and had to make it right away! The background is created by stamping some of the images from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Die Combo, the first layer is heat embossed in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing powder and the second layer in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool to add a little Soft Pool Ink to highlight the heat embossed images. Next I used the die from the set to cut out a notch in the side of the card. I turned the card over and placed a gift card so that it showed though the notch and traced around it on a piece of Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the place where the gift card was traced onto the Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the background. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I used 3D Foam Squares to adhered the greeting over a piece of Natural Twine and then adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Rose Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are added, a gift card is slipped into the slot and the twine is tied in a bow! I really do love the idea of this card, that Yana is so clever!

    sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-3

Finally, instead of another card this month I thought it would be neat to make two quick and easy tags! All of the images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped the jars in Soft Pool, the trees in Green Hills, the deer and bear in Cup O Joe and the house in Wet Cement. A little snow is stamped in more Soft Pool and then they are cut out using the Coordinating Dies. I punched a hole in the top and tied some Natural Twine though. Super simple yet really neat gift tags! That Winter Scene Set is still a favorite of mine!

  • Freshly Made Sketches 267

    Freshly Made Sketches 267

I had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Renee got to go into Manhattan, she had lunch at Eataly and went to The Shops at Bryant Park and then saw the tree! If she has pictures I’ll share some of them with you! Karen stopped by the store in the morning and I got to speak with my lovely friend Grace! After a little trip to the Post Office I worked on a few projects and made a card that I didn’t like at all! Wonder if you will ever see that one?! I also cut for Card Class, I was on top of things! LOL! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then ran to Target to pick up a few necessities including some of that Reindeer Confetti that I used on yesterday’s card! There is a link at the bottom to go to the Store and pick one up if you want! See that… always thinking of you guys! All that was left to do was to make my card for today! 😀

That card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    freshly-made-sketches-267

I needed to use that fun My Monthly Hero Kit again so I heat embossed the sparklers in WOW! Metallic Gold, Silver and Copper Sparkle Embossing Glitter onto Black Card Stock and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For my tag I used the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies and then cut off a little from the bottom to give me a shorter tag. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Metallic Silver Embossing Glitter. The secondary greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I cut the reinforcement from a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic, adhered it to the tag and then tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine thought the hole. All that was left to do was to adhere it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Black Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. How perfect is that Sparkle Embossing Glitter for those sparklers?! It’s also a pretty simple card with a lot of impact! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I always appreciate your visit and wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 78 – Winter Holiday!

SIP Challenge 78 – Winter Holiday!

The day started off with some rain that washed away the snow so it wasn’t so bad! When I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store I was happy to see that the ceiling didn’t leak! I guess they finally finished the roof. My Ornament Class was fun, since it’s the Holidays and difficult for people to get to come in at specific times we will be extending the class though the end of the week! After work I did the usual, had dinner with my Parents. Heather is back from New Orleans and she came by to get me so I could run to DSW with her. After that I came back home and worked on my card for today. Renee has her All Occasions Card Class today and I have to start thinking about getting ready for this month’s Card Class, it’s Thursday and Friday! 😀

I can finally share what Andrew and I have been working on, the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store is now online! I will be adding more products daily and there will be specials for all of you! Now through December 31st you get 10% off of any purchase of $20 or more, just use the code SIPFBJKC2016 when you check out! Shipping is free on all orders over $50! Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    sip-theme-78-800

I just had to use one of my favorite sets from Hero Arts again! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Holiday Floral Wood Mount Background Stamp onto a piece of Purple Hearts with some Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder and adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner. That favorite set that I mentioned is the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Stamp & Die Combo, I stamped the coffee cups in Hero Arts Passion Flower and Intense Black Inks and cut them out using the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. The cheers is from the September My Monthly Hero Kit and is cut from a piece of Blue Mist and two pieces of Solar White 110lb. I used my trusty Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them to each other and some 3M Foam Tape to adhered it to the coffee cups. The rest of my greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhered it to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Lavender Moon and Cornflower Sequins and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the cheers was all that was needed to complete the card! I really do love the Coffee Cup Stamp & Die Combo and I have used it a lot in my Holiday Card making this year! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Winter Holiday Theme! Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of my talented Design Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting today! Have an awesome Tuesday! 🙂

  • Dapper Cheers New Year!

    Dapper Cheers New Year!

I had such a nice day in Manhattan yesterday! Despite the packed train on the way in! It was so nice to see Jim and Diane! They really are two of the nicest people and kindest too! After I was done visiting with them I headed down to the Subway to make my way to The Ink Pad. The train was so crowded I didn’t have to hold on to anything! Once I got to Union Square I had a nice if not really chilly walk over to the store. It was so good to see Anna and she had some surprise news for me! She ran off to Vegas with her longtime boyfriend and got hitched! How fun is that?! We had lunch together and got all caught up! I was hoping to hear from my friend Kim so that I could see her too but by the time she text me I was already on the train on the way home. I did get to sit next to a very nice lady and we talked all the way! She had gone into the city to see the Radio City Christmas Show for the first time and loved it! Dad retrieved me from the station and we had Chinese food for Dinner. After that Taylor and I went to Walmart and I bumped into my friends Dorothy and her hubby! We chatted for a bit, I love running into peeps when I’m out, such a nice surprise! Today I’m back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, I hope that Renee is feeling better!

I did manage to get one picture before I left the city. I had wanted to take more and stop by the tree and Bryant Park, I’ll go there the next time. This is 34th Street looking down at Macy’s, see how packed it was?!

    34th-st-macys-2016

When I got home I had to make a card for today and decided that I needed to play with some of the add-ons for the December My Monthly Hero Kit! To start the card I used the Hero Arts Party Confetti Background Die to cut out a piece of Black Card Stock and that is adhered to a piece of Gold Mirror Card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Happy New Year Stamp & Cut. I heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of 48lb Vellum and folded the edges over the background before adhering it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I heat embossed the clock, 2017 and 6 in more Gold onto more Vellum. The fireworks and top hat are heat embossed in Hero Arts Black Sparkle Embossing Powder onto Super Gold Curious Metallic. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the clock, fireworks and top hat. The Vellum pieces are adhered with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and the rest with Black 3D Foam Squares. I love that Party Confetti Background Die, especially over the Gold Mirror Card in Black. Makes for an elegant and festive card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by to share in a little of my day! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

  • Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Winter!

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Winter!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! We have a nice simple theme for you… Winter!

    challenge-4-winter

I used one of my favorite sets from Concord & 9th to make today’s card! My background is a piece of Coastal Cabana and all of the other sections are Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. I cut out all of the pieces with the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Dies including my greeting with the included Happy Holidays die! To set my scene I heat embossed the house in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and the trees and roof in WOW! Seaglass Embossing Glitter using the images from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Photopolymer Stamp Set. All that was left to do is score the sides and adhered the pieces together using some Scor-Tape. I really like the blues, I think that they give the card a nice frosty look! I also think that it’s really clever the way that the card for flat and fits inside a standard envelope for mailing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Winter Challenge! We hope that you will stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of fabulous Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by once again today! • Paper Craft Crew 222

    Paper Craft Crew 222

I felt a little punky yesterday, my stomach was a little off and I had a headache in the morning. I felt it coming before I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and as usual, I think it will get better but it didn’t until I finally broke down and took some Excedrin. Finally around 2:00 I felt better and finally got to start on some of my projects. When I got to my Parent’s I got a very nice surprise, my little buddy Daniel was there and so were Tristan, my Brother and Erika! Tristan sat with Erika while I ate dinner and she was fascinated by me for some reason! She just kept smiling and laughing. After I finished eating Daniel was ready for me to build some buildings so he could knock them down! He did share a cookie with me with Erika said he does that with no one else! It’s official, I’m the favorite! LOL! It started to rain as I made my way to my house and once inside I watched a little TV and relaxed. Today they are starting on the parking lot at the Store, that should be loads of fun! 😀

We are at mid-week so today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    pcccs222-dt-sketch-12-06-2016

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Authentique Classic Christmas 12×12 Paper. Down the left I flagged both ends of a piece of Black and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. For my focal point I die cut a piece of Gold Glitter Card and a piece of Ice Gold Curios Metallic using the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies and adhered them to each other and then to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My ornaments are from the Hero Arts Ornaments Stamp & Cut Set, I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto 48lb Vellum, cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the circles with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Black with both ends flagged, it’s adhered with Black 3D Foam Squares. I have missed my sequins so I added a few Gold Pretty Pink Posh ones to finish off the card. I love the almost monochromatic look with the gold and kraft and I still think the ornaments are amazing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Mojo Monday 477

Another nice weekend spent with some really nice people, who could ask for anything more?! The Stamp, Ink, Paper store is always so much fun when there are loads of people hanging to and being creative! People working on scrapbook pages and cards. I got to help Evelyn with her Cricut, something new for me! If it plugs in I get it! LOL! I also got my inventory completed, a very productive day! After work I had dinner with my Parents and Taylor and then came home and relaxed. I try to do that on Sunday nights. Today I have a lot more system stuff to do at the store and hopefully everything will be finished by Wednesday! Wish me luck! 😀

It’s Monday and time for the last Mojo Monday challenge of 2016! We will be taking a little break until January so here is the sketch…

    mojo477

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Herb Garden. For my background I place the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background into my MISTI and stamped in in Hero Arts Green Hills onto Solar White 80lb and Versa-Mark onto Crisp Green and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I then adhered the two sides, matching up the pattern, onto my card base. Across the lower half is a strip of Gold Mirror Card. My greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Lime to Forever Green Ombre Ink repeatedly onto another piece of Solar White 80lb using my MISTI again. The center one is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I backed it with some more Herb Garden and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. To complete the card I die cut one of the snowflakes from the Hero Arts Paper Layering Snowflakes with Frames from a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic. It’s adhered to the card with a 3D Foam Square and in the center is a Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequin! I really do love the way the background came out and the MISTI made it so easy to do! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Mojo Monday Sketch of 2016! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and lets see your one in the gallery! • Wam & Cozy Mittens

    Wam & Cozy Mittens

Crop days are always lots of fun at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte! I love getting to see everyone! Linda, Lisette and Susan were all working on their Holiday cards! I managed to get two cards made as well! Have I mentioned the randomly flat tire that I get on my car from time to time? Well, my Dad took the tire and got it fixed yesterday morning! It turns out that there was a nail in it since probably about two weeks after I got the tires last year! Crazy that it didn’t go flat all of the time but it’s fixed now! After work I stopped by Heather’s, she was going to the Fire Department Christmas Party with Geroge and needed a little outfit advice! From there I went to my Parent’s to have dinner with them and Taylor and after that I made the mistake of turning on the TV and got sucked into two movies! I had stuff to do but today is always a good time to get that done! LOL! It’s also day two of the Crop, another fun day! 😀

One of the cards that I worked on yesterday is what I have to share with you today! The base is Neenah Solar White 100lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Tropical Sea. I stamped the mittens from the Hero Arts Holiday Mittens Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black onto some Solar White 80lb using my MISTI. Next I took the snowflakes and stamped them in Tide Pool to fill in the empty spaces around the mittens and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The mittens are then heat embossed onto another piece of Tropical Sea with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, the string onto some Chinese Red, I die cut the one on the right along with the string and cut the one out on the left with my Scissors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Little Messages Stamp & Cut Set and is also heat embossed in White onto Chinese Red. The mittens, string and greeting are then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card! I was originally going to color in the mittens which is why I stamped them in Black but changed my mind and opted to make the Tropical Sea ones the focal point instead! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you so much for stopping but today! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

    SIP Challenge 76 – Embossing!

I have lots of issues this time of year choosing the right coat to wear! Today it was a little on the cool side and I just wore my Columbia Fleece, I was cold! I think I need to rethink my layers! It was good to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today. I got some of my to do list accomplished and a few projects completed. I also got a very nice surprise for lunch! Heather stopped by with Pizza! She is so good to me! It was nice to get to see her at the store and we had a nice leisurely lunch and then we ran over to the Dollar Tree so she could get some paper goods for Christmas. I snuck out a little early so I could get to my Parent’s and see my little Daniel! He finished his dinner while I had mine and then we played with his train and some old wooden blocks. Every time I would build a tower he would knock it down and laugh! He really does have the best laugh! My brother took him home around 7:30 and I came home to find Taylor binging on Grey’s Anatomy. She asked if ate and I said that I had and if she wanted some food to go next door so she did. Heather came by around 7:45 to get me so I could go and run a few errands with her. We stopped at Starbucks to get my fave, a Soy Holiday Spice Flat White – No Foam. She has become as addicted to them as I am! A little Heather time is always a nice way to end the day! Today I have a lot of catching up to do at the store and I will get it done! 😀

It’s Tuesday so that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This week we have an Embossing Theme…

I actually started this card a little over a week ago and finished it last night! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Card Stock and used the Concord & 9th Joy Die to cut out the word from the middle. After it was die cut I placed the panel in my Mini MISTI, coated it with my EK Success Powder Tool, put the letters back in and stamped it with the Joy stamp from the Concord and 9th Joy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark. Before I sprinkled on some WOW! Metallic Copper Sparkle Embossing Glitter I removed the letters so that just the outline would be embossed. White I was at it I heat embossed the to the to the world under the Joy and to the right. Next I traced the letters onto a piece of Fun Foam and cut out a rectangle with my Craft Knife. I then adhered a piece of Acetate and the Fun Foam to the back of the panel with Scor-Tape adding more Scor-Tape to the back of that. To create my twine bow I cut a piece of Solar White 110lb with my Paper Trimmer to 1/8″ and then used the bow from the Concord & 9th Mistletoe Card Frame Add-On Dies. The two pieces are coated with more Versa-Mark and sprinkled with more of the Copper Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat embossed. I used my Quickie Glue Pen to adhered the strip and a Glue Dot to adhered the bow. The well I created is filled with some Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold and Cobalt Sequins and the panel is adhered to the card base. We all know how I love a shaker and how cool is that WOW! Embossing Powder, especially on the Blue Jay Card Stock?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Embossing Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the creative Design Team’s cards! We hope that you will take some time and make a card and play along with us! Thanks very much for your visit!
