Hello Thursday! So happy to see you again! You are a good day because you are right next to Friday! How are we all doing today? I’m well, I had to do some tech support with my Aunt in England yesterday evening. She was pretty amazed that I was able to walk her through what she had to do to get her internet connection back up. It was a relatively nice day here yesterday, I think we made it to 52 degrees! I must admit that while it was still a little chilly I did have the top down in the card on the way home. I just can’t wait any longer!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week we have a sketch from Rita…

I wanted something a little springy so here’s what I came up with. The base of the card is Pretty in Pink Card Stock. I used the Borders Scoring Plate and my Simply Scored to create the background on a piece of Lucky Limeade. The piece of paper on the left is form the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper Pack, I thought it echoed the chevron background pretty nicely. A piece of Calypso Coral is cut on the bottom edge with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. Some Early Espresso 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip and another piece is knotted on it. The greeting is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and is stamped in Calypso Coral. I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out. It’s backed with a piece of So Saffron, also cut out with the same Framelits and pierced around the edge with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. A piece of Early Espresso is flagged on either side and adhered in between the to Window Frames. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I kind of like the bold Limeade for a background more that I thought I would. I hope that you like my Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card for this week’s sketch from Rita. Freshly Made Sketches #78

Friday, need I saw any more! I was in the city until 10:00 last night and I got off the train at 11:05, I’m a little tired today. For some added fun the hockey game let out just before I got to Penn Station, again, need I say more?! What’s on for the weekend? I’m off to the airport to get my friend Kim tomorrow night. I have always loved the airport and been fascinated with planes since I was a little kid. I would like to be on one somewhere soon!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week we have a fun sketch from Jen M….

I love the Sent with Love Suite, it speaks to my love of planes! The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock. The background is a piece of Sent with Love Designer Series Paper. At the top is a piece of Island Indigo the I cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit on the one side. A piece of Real Red is embossed with the Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered on top. All of the images are from the Sent with Love Stamp Set. The main image is stamped in Calypso Coral and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. I stamped the image again in Island Indigo and used my Paper Snips to cut out the plane. The words are stamped in Real Red and both pieces are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I backed it with a piece of Sent with Love Designer Series Paper, also cut out with the Ovals Framelits, and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting in the lower right is stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, yup, another Dimensional holds it in place. Freshly Made Sketches #77

Hello everyone, how are we today? I’m good but that was one big bad Wednesday! I’m glad that’s done and we are almost at Friday! It was a really nice and sunny day here on Long Island yesterday. The weatherman said that it’s just a taste and that today it will be in the 20’s! It was 50 degrees here yesterday, that’s quite a drop! Time for the thick coat once again, maybe for the last time… we can only hope. 🙂 A quick thank you to Theresa for pointing out that I forgot that I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch on the right side of the main panel of the card that I posted yesterday! 🙂

So, for today’s post I have my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I have to say that I really like their re-design that they did over on their blog. This week we have a sketch from Jennifer T….

I have been having a very good run with my visual memory this week. I saw the sketch and immediately thought of the new Best of Flowers Stamp Set. For the base of my card I used a piece of Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. A strip of Lucky Limeade is embossed using the Borders Scoring Plate. I pierced the right side and a “Vintage” Sweet Shop Jelly Bean Brad is placed there and some SNAIL and Sticky Strip hold it to the card. The layer behind the main image is a piece of Primrose Petals that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The main image, as I mentioned before, is from the Best of Flowers Stamp Set and I used my Primrose Petals and Lucky Limeade Stampin’ Write Markers to ink it. The greeting is from the Essentials Wood Mount Set and is stamped in Basic Black. I backed it with a piece of Basic Black and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the way the black looks with the Primrose and Limeade, it gives it a touch of elegance. I hope that you like my Freshly Made Sketches Card for this week’s challenge from Jennifer T. Ahh… Thursday, you are so close to Friday and that makes it a good day! It snowed here but it didn’t start until around 10:00 last night so now they are saying that it won’t end until Friday night. I really hope that it’s just rain. I know, I complain a lot about snow but I have a convertible and she’s mad that she hasn’t gone topless in a while! 😉

Keeping to my schedule this week today is Freshly Made Sketches day. Thais week we have a sketch from Linda S….

My card is based on Mary Fish’s tutorial that she posted earlier in the week. You can take a look at it here. I liked the punched out butterflies with the DSP behind them and the little ones in the middle and I thought it would work well with this sketch. The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. The Pool Party panel has the butterflies punched out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Behind it is a piece of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. I adhered the Pool Party panel over the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little butterflies in the middle are punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch from Island Indigo. I stamped the buttons from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set in Tangerine Tango and punched them out with a standard hole punch. The bitty butterflies and the buttons are adhered with Mini Glue Dots. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is also stamped in Tangerine Tango. I like the dimension and interest that the butterflies give the card while still keeping it simple. We all know that Sahara Sand is my new Crumb Cake! I hope that you like my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Thanks for sharing some creativity with me today. So here we are at Thursday, only one more day until the weekend! Not a lot of interesting stuff going on here. It rained most of the day yesterday but the sun finally peeked out around 3:00pm. Winston is sleeping next to me, and snoring a little like he always does. He keeps me company all the time, he’s my little buddy!

Three panels to play with. I decided that some bright colors were in order to chase away yesterday’s grey skies. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The panel to the left is a piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the flowers from the Secret Garden Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla and cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. They are adhered to the panel with SNAIL. The panel in the middle is Raspberry Ripple that I stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Raspberry Ripple. I choose the greeting from the From My Heart Stamp Set and cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the greeting and the panel to the card. The flag is from the same Designer Series Paper for a little balance. I love the way the greeting fits inside the floral frame, it’s like it made to! Hey there peeps, how are we all this Saturday morning? Things are good on my end. I came home last night and Taylor and I blasted some music while I crafted for about 4 hours! Now that is an exciting Friday night huh?! I know how to have a good time! LOL! I hope that your Friday night was more exciting than mine, not that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy myself!

Today’s post is for this week Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. I’m a few days behind this week so I’m playing catch up. This week our sketch is provided by Allisa…

A super simple sketch indeed! The base of my card is a recently neglected color of mine, Wisteria Wonder Card Stock. I rounded the right corners with the 1″ Circle Punch. I then cut out a piece of Crumb Cake with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the scalloped edge. I stamped the image with the Swallowtail Clear Mount Stamp in Wisteria Wonder on Very Vanilla and cut that out with the Ovals Framelits too. It’s adhered to the Crumb Cake piece with SNAIL and then to the card base. The greeting is from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder. I used my Paper Snips to flag the ends and the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce the chevrons on the edges. Some SNAIL holds it in place. I love the Wisteria and Crumb together, it’s a nice sooting color combination don’t you think? I hoep you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Freshly Made Sketches # 73

Morning! How are we all doing this fine Saturday? It was actually really nice here yesterday, we had a high of 50 degrees and I had a nice evening last night. Some TGI Friday’s with Danielle, Anthony, Bill and Heather is always a good time! I will be doing some much needed crafting today, a nice relaxing Saturday for me!

I have my Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card for you today. Jen B. has given us this nice square sketch…

I really can’t get enough of the Sent With Love Stamps and Designer Series Paper. I love the images and the colors are great too. The base of my card is Calypso Coral Card Stock. I used the clouds from the Up, Up and Away Stamp Set stamped randomly in Calypso Coral for the background. The center circle is Pool party and I stamped the airplane image in Island Indigo. For the two clouds I punched out the frosting from the Cupcake Builder Punch in Whisper White and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The band of paper across the bottom is from the Sent With Love Designer Series Paper Pack. I stamped the special Delivery in Calypso Coral. Another airplane is stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered to the inside of a Soda Pop Top that is then adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. Like I said before I really do love the stamps and paper from the Sent With Love Bundle. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card and as always, thank you for stopping by. Freshly Made Sketches #72

Hello from really snowy Long Island. Boy did we get walloped last night! I think we got about 16 inches of snow. 🙁 I will not be leaving the house today, my car doesn’t like the snow at all. When I let Winston out last night at 11:45 it was a blizzard. Sigh, guess I’ll get a lot of stuff done around the house today! I did watch Skyfall last night and I have to say that I really enjoyed it, but I’m a big James Bond fan so my opinion may be a little swayed!

Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Cindy has provided us with this sketch…

This was one of those cards that as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to use. I got some new goodies from Mr. Brown today so I used some of those too! The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used some Whisper White that I stamped with an image from the new Sent With Love Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler for the top half of the background. The bottom half is a piece of the Sent With Love Designer Series Paper. Across the middle is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Dude, You’re Welcome Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with my Paper Snips. For a little added detail I stamped another one of the images from the Sent With Love Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and tilted it ever so slightly for a little imperfect tag on a package look! I love the Sent With Love Stamps and DSP. I have wanted a plane for the longest time and the patterns in the DSP are great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Hello peeps! What’s going on in your neck of the woods? Same old same old here on Long Island. But the week is almost over, time seems to moving along at a rapid pace. I can’t believe that we are at the end of January already! Ahh… but before you know it it will be spring! I like the fact it stays light past 5 o’clock now. More daylight always means more happy!

So today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. But before I get to that I want to thank one of the amazing Demonstrator Support Reps from Stampin’ Up! Last week I email Demo Support because I wanted to know exactly how they made one of the cards they demoed at Leadership. I thought it was strange that I had not heard back, they usually get back to you within two days. Well, I got an email from Pam today with the instructions and an apology for the delay. Thank you very much Pam! You made my evening. I’m thanking Pam in the hopes that she sees this because there is no way for us to email the same rep back so, today’s card is for Pam. 🙂

I love that fact that it has a tag on it. I haven’t done anything with a tag in a long time. The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. It is definitely my new Crumb Cake. I love the grayish sand color! The background is made with a piece of Island Indigo embossed with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I created the tag using my Simply Scored Tool. I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ and used the Diagonal Plate to score the corners and then cut the off with my Stampin’ Trimmer. The reinforcement at the top is punched first with a regular hole punch and then with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I used a stamp from the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set inked in Sahara Sand to give the tag some texture. The feathers (my question to DS) are made from Creped Filter Paper and the Blossom Builder Punch. I sponged them in Island Indigo and adhered a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine on the back and used my Paper Snips to cut in at an angle along the edges. They make some really nice looking feathers! They are adhered to the tag with Multipurpose Glue. The flower is from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo on Sahara Sand and cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I backed it with a piece of Island Indigo punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and a piece of Sahara Sand punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. An In-Color Printed Brad holds it together and the flower and the tag are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I stamped a piece of Sahara Sand with the vine from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set in Sahara Sand and then stamped the greeting form the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Island Indigo. A flagged end and some SNAIL and the card is complete. I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Hello and welcome to Thursday! It is bitterly cold here and I think it’s just about time that we had a warm up! I don’t think I have been able to go outside without gloves on for three days now. I will say one thing for the cold, poor little Winston doesn’t dawdle outside, he does his business and back in he comes. I feel bad and want to get him some boots but I tried that once and he wasn’t a fan! He would take a step and shake his paw, another step another shake and on and on. Poor Mr. Winston!

Anyway, enough about my little buddy and on to today’s post which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This time around we have a simple sketch from Rita…

When I saw the sketch I immediately wanted to use a butterfly. I love butterflies and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Does it make me less of a man… possibly. LOL! I guess that’s maybe why my card turned out so masculine today. The base is a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock. A piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack is on the left side. For the main image I stamped the ferris wheel from the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set** in Midnight Muse and punched it out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I backed it with a piece of Midnight Muse that I cut out with the 3″ Bigz Circle Die. For some interest I pierced around the edge using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it in place. The greeting is from the same set also stamped in Midnight Muse. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with some SNAIL. This is a nice and simple card but the DSP it gives it a little oomph. A quick greeting change would make it good for almost any occasion.
