    Celebrate Balloons

Starting off the week with a smile! Is there any other way to do it?! I had a wonderful weekend! I was over at Jim’s again yesterday and we finished the end table and the chairs! We are really happy with the way they came out! I called the chairs Shipwreck Chic because we power washed them to get the four layers of paint off and it really distressed the wood! You can see the before and after…

We also finished watching Stranger Things, I’ll have to find a new series for us to watch now! I have a ton of stuff to get accomplished today! It’s a Monday for sure! 😀

Another simple card for you today! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added two pieces of paper from the Pinkfresh Studios Indigo Hills 6×6 Paper. The top one is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My balloons are from the Concord & 9th Happy Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Fresh Peach. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more E-Z Runner. I do love to use sequins to fill in some of the white space on my cards so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear ones today! I love that PinkFresh Paper, so nice and thick and the balloons are just fun! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks for starting another week off here with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

    Cupcakes & Sprinkles

Yay for the weekend! I had a pretty busy day yesterday. Got my haircut in the morning and spoke to my friend Greg for a little while. I went over and saw Heather, we had lunch and I ran a few errands. The evening was quiet, just a little TV. Today it’s supposed to be rainy so maybe some crafty time?! Good way to spend a rainy day! 😀

I have another card to share with you today that uses the Concord & 9th Sprinkles Turnabout Set! The background is stamped with it using my MISTI with Freshly Cut Grass and Merman Ink onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I adhered the trimmed piece to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The cupcakes are stamped in Black Licorice for the outline and the same two ink colors to fill them in. My tag is cut out from a piece of Mermaid Card Stock with the Concord & 9th Sprinkles Tag Dies along with the cupcakes. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the bottom of the tag. I tied a piece of Natural Green Twine through the top and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The cupcakes are adhered with 3D Foam Squares and a little drop of Multi-Matte Medium holds the twine in place! I’m loving that Sprinkles Turnabout, confetti sprinkles in any colors! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you so much for visiting! Have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Sprinkled with Love – Concord & 9th Guest Designer for Feature Friday!

Happy, happy Friday peeps! Yes, another beautiful day, and yes I spent a good part of it outside. The morning was spent catching up on things around the house, I do need to be somewhat productive! It was a quiet day all in all. I finished the evening off by watching Collateral Beauty, not the best movie I have seen but not terrible. It’s going to be cooler today but no rain so we should be ok for the day! 😀

I have the extreme pleasure of being a Guest Designer for Concord & 9th this month along with the rest of the fabulous Design Team over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! For the next four Friday’s we will be featuring a new product from the August Release! This week it’s the fantastic Sprinkles Turnabout Stamps and the Sprinkles Tag Dies!

As soon as I saw the Sprinkled with Love greeting in the set I knew just what I was going to do! I started my card by using the Sprinkles Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp to heat emboss in Hero Arts Gold and stamp in Ballet Slippers, Peachy Keen and Bubblegum Ink onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. It’s trimmed to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhered to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I used the solid heart die from the Heartstrings Dies and the small heart from the Sprinkles Dies to cut out a large and two small hearts from a piece of Guava. I heat embossed the sprinkles in Hero Arts Gold and White Embossing Powder and the greeting in White onto the hearts. They are then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Those Turnabout Stamps are just so cool and this one is no exception! Love it along with the greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card for Concord & 9th! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of talented Teammate’s projects! I thank you so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

The gloomy Tuesday morning turned into a nice day around 1:00PM! I can deal with that! And we are at Wednesday so time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

A card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock starts off today’s card. I used the Concord & 9th Globe Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set to heat emboss the world onto a piece of Soft Sky with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. The Coordinating Dies are used to cut it out. I also die cut a banner with the Concord & 9th Best Banners Dies from a piece of Black 110lb. The world is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed onto another piece of Black 110lb with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Before I adhered the globe to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner I added a piece of Copper Washi Tape. The world’s is adhered to the globe with 3D Foam Squares and the best with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A little cascade of Pretty Pink Posh Copper Sequins and the card is done! SIP Challenge 111

That was a very rainy Monday indeed. It rained all day, not really helping with the Monday’s at all! I did get my computer stuff done that I wanted to in the morning and did a little laundry too. In the evening Jim came by, we had Wendy’s for dinner and then watched TV. I’m having him watch Stranger Things, so far he likes it! This morning I want to get more computer stuff accomplished. Wish me luck! 😀

It’s Tuesday so time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Waves Stencil and my Mini Ink Blending Tool along with Soft Pool Ink to create a background. The images and greeting are all from the Hero Arts Seahorse Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the large and medium seahorses in Cornflower. The additional layers are added to the large seahorse with Pool and Navy using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I stamped three of the small seahorses in Pool onto the background along with the greeting in Navy. Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finish the scene. I do love that seahorse and the subtle look of the stencil behind it! I hope that you enjoy my Design tEam card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Magic Unicorn – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th

Another productive day yesterday! I got a lot of things checked off my to-do list and enjoyed the weather. It’s supposed to be rainy here this morning but clear up by the afternoon. Last night was a relaxing TV and read a book kind of night. Today I have some more around the house things to do and then when the weather clears up I think I will go and take a ride somewhere! 😀

Be sure and stop by there too! It’s Concord & 9th’s 2 year anniversary this month so they will have lots of fun things panned! Look forward to celebrating along with them!

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the Concord & 9th Sunshine Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Soft Sky and trimmed it to cover the front of the card. The unicorn is from the Concord & 9th Unicorn Awesomeness Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored in the horn, mane, tail and hooves with Copics and used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. My clouds are cut out with another one of the Dies from the Unicorn Set. I adhered the back one with E-Z Runner and the top one with 3M Foam Tape. The unicorn is added and the greeting, also from the Unicorn Set is stamped in the lower left. That unicorn really is a great image and I especially like him with the sun rays and clouds! Fab Friday 118

Hooray for Friday! The weather was just about perfect here yesterday again, we have been so lucky lately! I had some computer stuff to do in the morning and so I took the laptop and sat outside. I squeezed in a little cleaning and a few other household things in the afternoon. After dinner I headed over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. We had a few errands to run and met Stephanie at Target before heading back to Heather’s. George spent some time with us when he got home, we always have so much fun! Today I have some more computer stuff to do, hopefully outside again! 😀

It’s a Fab Friday week and we have some nice bright colors for you…

I pulled out the Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Set, haven’t used that one in a while, and made a one layer card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Soft Pool. The card is then placed in my Mini MISTI for the rest of the stamping. The flamingo is stamped in Soft Pink for the first layer and then Ultra Pink for the second and third. I stamped the legs, beak and greeting in Soft Granite. The grass is stamped in Lime Green with the water ripples added around them in Tide Pool. I added a little Black Glaze Pen to the eye and a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is done! I do love a one layer card and the sequins again come in handy for filling in some of the space around the image! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! • Freshly Made Sketches 299

    Freshly Made Sketches 299

That was a very quiet Wednesday. I guess they are good to have every so often. Taylor did come by in the evening and we watched a movie. This morning I do have a bunch of things to do and some errands to run. What are you up to today?! 😀

Another thing that I did do yesterday was make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

To start my card I adhered a piece of Desert Storm 80lb to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the left is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Story Teller 6×6 Paper Pad cut into strips to match the sketch. The large you is cut from a piece of Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Big You Die, it’s adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Onto another piece of Black I heat embossed the hello from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and adhered that to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A simple card with one of my favorite types of pattern paper, a map! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

  • Sweet Blackberry Birthday Wishes

    Sweet Blackberry Birthday Wishes

What a nice Saturday I had! It rained for a little while in the morning but stopped by 10:00. I took a ride over to Jim’s to drop off some things and we ended up working on another project. This time we took two old wooden crates that he had in the garage and sanded the paint splatters off of them. We did a wash of a grey paint and then he had the genius idea of going over it with some black shoe polish to darken it up a bit! Here is what they looked like before we started…

And here is the finished product…

We just need to put legs on it and then it will be an end table for his den! I love the way the piece turned out! Who knew that refinishing furniture could be so much fun?! 😀

I was inspired by the color of the wood from yesterday’s project for today’s card! The background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background on in Black. It’s adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the cone in Soft Brown and Cup O joe and the ice cream in Passion Flower and Grape Juice. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of 65lb Vellum and adhered behind the background. I added the cone and ice cream with 3D Foam Squares and a few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst and Sand Sequins to finish the card! I love the fun gray woodgrain with the neat ice cream cone! I hope that you like today’s card and the end table! Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

  • Orage You Sweet 16

    Orage You Sweet 16

Another nice day yesterday but some rain this morning. I went over to Heather’s early and spent the day with her catching up on some things while she worked. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s, they needed a ride to a wedding so I drove them over to Floral Park and then came home and watched TV. Today will be a quiet day I hope! 😀

One of my friends asked me to make a card for a sweet 16 so this is what I came up with. It was inspired by a card that I saw on the Concord & 9th site! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the Sweet from the Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet Photopolymer Stamp Set in Carrot Ink. The crate is from the Concord & 9th Petals & Palettes Dies. I cut it from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and stamped the woodgrain in Doe. The leaves are from the Petals Set and are stamped in Noble Fir on Noble Fir Card Stock and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I stamped the oranges in Carrot on Fake Tan and cut those out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the crate, oranges and leaves to the card leaving room in the crate to stick in a gift card. The 16 is cut from more Fake Tan with the Hero Arts Classic Numbers Frame Cuts and adhered to the lower right on the crate. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and American Crafts Orange Sequins finish the card! I love the sweet 16 with the oranges, a different take on a birthday card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks for coming by! Have a super Saturday! 🙂
