Paper Craft Crew 228

Oh, the rain decided to stick around for another day, and I’ll say it agin, better than snow! Renee and I had a productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. She cut out lovely titles on the Cricut and I made some cards and did a lot of paperwork! I had text Andrew in the morning to tell him that I missed him and he came over last night with Pizza! We got all caught up! Isn’t it great when you have friends that you can just pick up where you left off with?! I also fished catching up with This is Us so I can watch yesterday’s episode tonight when I get home! Today, I’m off to Manhattan! Going to see my friend Ella in the morning and then head down to The Ink Pad to visit my friend Anna! I need a city day! 😀

Wednesday and time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I went nice and simple with lots of stamping! I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and heat embossed the circles from the Concord & 9th Love you, Mean It Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder twice. Using my ruler and a pencil I drew two lines down the card to serve as a guide for where I wanted my stamping. All of the images are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Pink, Soft Lilac, Red Royal and Lime Green. I erased the lines and then used the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies to cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card. A little Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive adheres it to the card. All that was left to do was to adhere the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock! I love the simplicity and the cascade of flowers, they were so much fun to stamp! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s card and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and visiting with me! Have a lovely Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 83 – A Sketch!

Well, we definitely got that Nor’easter yesterday! Crazy winds and lots of rain last night. There were power lines down and all sorts of other storm related things happening. I was glad to be in the house, binge watching This is Us! Completely addicted to the show, I’m up to episode 9! The earlier part of yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy. Renee had her Home Decor Class, lots of people coming in to paint their wood pieces. I managed to get a few things done and ran to the Post Office to mail out some crafty goodness, always a highlight of the day! Today, more projects to do! Love my job! 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

The first thing I did to create my card was to stamp the Concord & 9th Tree Ring Photopolymer Stamp in Hero Arts Soft Brown and the heart and love from the Concord & 9th Tree Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Crimson Hybrid using my Mini MISTI onto Ivory 110lb, I triple stamped the tree ring and double stamped the heart and love. They are trimmed out with my Scissors and put aside. To my card base of Ivory 110lb I adhered a piece of Carta Bella Beach Day Surf Shop 12×12 Paper. Much the Renee’s delight I inked the edges with Soft Brown using my Mini Ink Blending Tool! (she likes to ink everything!) The paper is then adhered, a little askew, to the base. I used Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhered the tree ring and heart to the card. I slipped a piece of Chinese Red in between. It needed a little subtle sparkle so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry and Sand Sequins and the card is finished! We all know how I love a little woodgrain and that’s why I love that Paper and Tree Ring Stamp! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and get inspired by the rest of the Team and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for stopping by! Have a nice Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 481

We are supposed to be getting a Nor’easter today! Thankfully not snow but lots of rain and high winds. Makes yesterday’s overcast weather seem quite nice! LOL! Renee, Angie and I had a productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I got some more administrative things finished and made my card for today. It was my Brother’s Birthday yesterday so I left the Store a little early, ran home and finished up a few things before heading out to his house for Dinner. Most of my time was spent playing with Daniel, what better way to spend a Sunday evening?! We had loads of fun, he has quite the extensive array of toys! When I got back to my house I watched Ever After, still one of my favorites. I’m a die hard romantic at heart! Today I have projects and all sorts of other fun things to do! Happy Monday! 😀

The start of a new week and of course a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I pulled out a favorite set of mine that I haven’t used in a long time! The flower and leaves are from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Ink using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and put aside while I worked on the rest of the card. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and for my background I used a piece of Photoplay This Guy 12×12 Paper. The half circle is cut from a piece of 48lb Vellum with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. Across the lower part of the card is a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Card Stock. I used it hide the adhesive for the vellum and adhered both to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a square of Dark Molasses which is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The flower and leaves are adhered to the square and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and Clear Droplets are added to complete the card! I do love that flower, especially against the dark wood and gold glitter really makes it pop! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery! Thank you for staring another week off here with me! I have looked at all of the new release and there are some awesome stamps set and dies in there! I can’t wait to get my hands on it! It was also a nice day because of the Crop. I had a good time with all of the ladies! After work I came home and watched a little TV, I’m getting caught up on This is Us and I’m really enjoying it! I did have a few errands to run so I went to the gas station and Target. Today I’ll go through the pre-orders from yesterday and start making my list! 😀

I have another simple card with a stamped background to share with you. I really am loving the stamped backgrounds lately. It’s a great way to stretch your stamps! To create the background I stamped the feathers from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Fresh Peach, Soft Granite and Charcoal Ink. My greeting is cut out from a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock and Black. I adhered a strip of 48lb Vellum around the back of the stamped panel with E-Z Runner and then adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My kind greeting is adhered with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive, the black first to the Vellum and then the Silver Glitter on top and slightly offset. Just a few Silver and Sparkling Clear Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and done! I love that kind Die and of course the feathers. I think this makes a fun and different thank you card, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! I always appreciate your visits and your comments make my days much better! Have a nice simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 271

Not a lot to report today! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was quiet, I did get to work on some of my projects and that is always a good thing. I left a little early and came home and watched TV, had dinner and watched some more TV. Aren’t I just super exciting lately?! Today Renee has a private crop and I’ll get to see some of the ladies. That is always fun. What’s on for you this weekend?

My little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Sometimes my card starts with the idea that I want to use a particular set, that’s what happened with this card. I began by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts For You Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Pink, Bubble Gum and Crimson Hybrid and cut them out with the coordinating Frame Cuts. The leaves are stamped in Green Apple Hybrid and Lime Green right on the card front. Next up I added a strip of American Crafts Rouge Glitter Tape across the top and bottom of where I was going to mount my main panel. The flowers are then adhered and the main panel added over them with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut Set. I cut the love out of a piece of Chinese Red and two pieces of Solar White 110lb. They are adhered to each other and to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Last thing to do was to stamp the you so much, also from the Love Stamp & Cut Set, in Crimson Hybrid. I decided not to add anything else to the card, I like it just the way it is! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 227

A lovely, dreary, rainy day is what we had here yesterday. At least it wasn’t cold! Another fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store despite the weather. I got my card made for today and ran to the Post Office to mail out a few orders. Speaking of orders, thank you so much for them! It means a lot to me that you choose to get some of your crafty goodness from me! As a thank you to all of my faithful blog readers you can use discount code JKCARDSBLOG17 to take 10% off every order from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The discount can’t be combined with other discounts. And remember that all orders over $50 ship for FREE! Don’t forget about the two sales that are going on now as well! You can read more about that on yesterday’s blog post! I spent the rest of the day working on things and I also had the pleasure of speaking to my friend Anna from The Ink Pad! Oh how I miss her! The rest of my evening was the usual dinner and then TV. Not the most exciting person at night lately, I know. I’ll have to work on that! 😀

Let’s see… Wednesday, oh, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep my card clean and use only one stamp set so I pulled out one of my favorites! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half I added a piece of American Crafts Peacock Glitter Tape. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Tide Pool and Mint Julep and the leaves in Lime Green. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner and 3D Foam Squares. For the greeting I heat embossed the hello in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tropical Sea, flagged the right side and used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card. It needed a little bling and I wanted something different so I added a few gems from the Hero Arts Pool Mixed Accents and that did the trick! I love the colors together and the fun sparkle of the Peacock Glitter Tape! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and for your support! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 82 – Natural Elements!

Still not feeling great! It has been over a week, I’m over the stuffy head! I was only at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning, I left around 2:00 to go over and work on some things with my friend Sue. I got to see my friend Buddy too! He’s a 60+ pound lap dog! LOL! So lovable and cute though! After I left Sue’s I came home and had dinner with my Parent’s and then it was time for TV once again. I wish I had more energy when I get home, time go cold! 😀

I’m having another big SALE over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Web Store! You can take 30% off anything in the CHA Clearance section and 40% off all products in the 2016 Holiday collection! The sale is on through Wednesday! The codes are CHAFIN17 for the 30% and CHAHOLFIN17 for the 40%!

I did make a quick card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and that’s what I have to share with you today…

Ahh… Natural Elements, we all know how I enjoy a little woodgrain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I wanted a piece of newsprint and couldn’t find one so I went to good old Google and printed a sheet out from there. It’s cut out with the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies and adhered to the background with E-Z Runner. My tag is a piece of Kraft and I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp on it in Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting and all of the other images are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I heat embossed the greeting onto the bottom of the tag with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. My images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, the rose and bow in Red Royal and the leaves in Green Hills and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and used a Craft Knife to cut slits in the jar so I could pass the stem through. Everything except for the bow is adhered with Tombo Dot Runner. I used a 3D Foam Square to adhered the bow. A little dot of Multi-Matte Medium holds the twine in place and the card is done! I have said it before, I love the way flowers look against a woodgrain background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Natural Elements Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 480

Well, I enjoyed my Sunday and hope that you did too! The second day of the Anniversary Crop at the Store was fun! We had an Italian and American Hero, Macaroni and Potato Salad for lunch and of course dessert! Someone made a baked Brie with pears and it was delicious! After work I came home and had a little dinner with my Parent’s. The rest of the evening was spent watching TV. I’m still not feeling my old self yet and have little motivation to do much. Hopefully that will change as the week wears on! 😀

It’s Monday and I get to share my Design Team card with you for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I was lucky enough to get my January My Monthly Hero Kit in the mail on Saturday so I took it to the store to play with yesterday! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Chinese Red. Across the card is a strip of Crisp Green. I used the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies to cut out a piece of Carta Bella Beach Day Surf Shop 12×12 and a another piece of Crisp Green. I ran the patterned paper through my Big Shot twice to get it to be a square and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My images and greeting are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped the bouquet and additional flowers in Hero Arts Bubble Gum and Memento Tuxedo Black which I also used for the wrap. The wrap is colored in with Copics and then adhered with the bouquet and additional flowers to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I heat embossed the Love onto a piece of Chinese Red in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, flagged the right side and tucked it under the flowers. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Watermelon and Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is finished. I love the flowers in the shape of a heart and the fun postage stamp dies! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! Let’s see your take on the sketch, share your card in the gallery with us! Thank you very much for starting another week off here with me! Have an awesome Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 270

Well, it definitely got colder here yesterday. It is supposed to warm up again next week and I look forward to that! I got my haircut in the morning and then ran over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to meet my friend Patrice. She showed me all of the cards that she has been working on recently and also gave me my Christmas card and a Get Well card that I will share with you soon! From there I went over to Heather’s to help with the move. We got a lot accomplished in a very short amount of time which was great. I went home for a little while and got caught up on my blog comments and took a little nap. I’m feeling much better but not 100% yet. Around 7:30 I headed over to George’s and the three of us went out to dinner in Huntington. We had Argentinian food, it was delicious. All small plates which was a great way to get a taste of a lot of different things. What nice way to end the day! Today is Renee’s anniversary crop so I’ll get to see some of the ladies! Always a good time!

When I got home last night I sat down and made a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A nice simple sketch deserves a nice simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Floral Background stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. I also heat embossed the same image onto a piece of Basic Gray with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Basic Gray panel is trimmed down to match the sketch. For my greeting I heat embossed one from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. Before I adhered the dark gray panel I added the greeting strip on the left and a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock to the right. A nice simple card but the embossing really adds a little wow! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a bit of your Saturday with me! Have a sensational day! 🙂

Paper Players 326

It was like a Spring day here on Long Island yesterday! The temps got well up into the high 50’s! Such a nice reprieve from the snow! It won’t last for long, it’s to get cold again today but I enjoyed every minute of it! Renee and I got ready for the upcoming weekend crop at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte. I also worked on my card for today and left the store a little early to come home and take a nap. I went over to the Heather’s for the last Thirsty Thursday at her old apartment. Brian and Kim stopped by and then Heather and I went to see Stephanie at her house for a bit. Today I’m off from the store but after I get a haircut in the morning I’ll head over there for a bit, my friend Patrice is stopping by! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I did use something somewhat recycled on my card. I had a few stamped flowers and leaves from a card that I had made a while ago using the Reverse Confetti Blooms ‘N Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Hero Arts Lime Green, Emerald Green and Butter Bar and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. They have been sitting on my desk for a long time and needed to be used! I adhered them to a tag with 3D Foam Squares that I cut out of Kraft and Crisp Green using the Reverse Confetti Topped Off Tags Confetti Cuts. I adhered the green piece to the tag and then threaded some May Arts Natural Twine through the top before adhering it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly/greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter Bar using the Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set and is cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card and tucked the twine behind it. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green, Lemon Drop and Iridescent Sunshine Glow Sequins and some Clear Droplets and the card is done! I do love those flowers and that butterfly, the greeting is really neat too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂
