Dapper Father’s Day

I know, you are probably sick of hearing of the nice weather we have been having is but it was another gorgeous day again! I went over to the store in the morning and hung out with Renee and Angie. I also got a card made that I gave to Sharon, Sue’s daughter for her Graduation party, I’ll share that with you later in the week. From the store I headed over to the party in Rockville Center. It was at Kasey’s Kitchen on the roof! A very nice venue with good food. I got to meet a lot of Sue’s family and spent some time chatting with her husband Joe and her sister. After the party I headed back to the house for a bit and then went over to Neal and Stephanie’s for a little impromptu BBQ. Brian, Kim and the kiddies were there along with Adam and Erin and their daughter. It was a fun time and I was home by 8:30. I watched some YouTube and then made my card before calling it a night. Today the store is closed so I’m going to make a valiant effort to make cards and get ahead for the week!

Speaking of getting ahead the card that I made last night is a Father’s Day card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. All of the images and greetings are from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set. I drew some pencil lines across a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the Happy Father’s Day in Hero Arts Wet Cement. Next up I cut out another piece of Black 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cuts and heat embossed the Love You in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Then I adhered a piece of Vellum to the back. Some Foam Tape is adhered around the edges and then it’s adhered to the card. The images are all stamped in Onyx Black and cut out with my Scissors. A little more Foam tape adheres them to the Vellum and the card is done! I love the retro feel of the stamp set and fun images! I’m also impressed that I got a Father’s Day card made this early! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for stopping by! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 238

Yes, yet another nice day! That’s three in a row! Woo hoo! My ride to the store in the convertible was lovely as always. The Hero Arts order arrived and I got it all entered, priced and put out! We had a nice busy day in the store too! I think that Renee was a little exhausted at the end of the day! I hope every day is like that! Taylor stopped by and her and I had Blaze pizza for lunch. I also got to speak to Michael and filled him in on the goings on at the store. After work I stopped by my Parent’s and saw Daniel, Jason and Erika. I wear a baseball cap in the car now, my hair is long and gets knotted! When I came in Daniel looked at me and said “look Nanny, Uncle has a hat on!”. I said that I was wearing it because I wanted to be like him and he went and got his hat and put it on gave me a high five! He is just way too cute! Around 7:45 Anthony and Bill came by and we went to Friday’s for dinner and then stopped at Target. They dropped me off and I came in and made my card for today. This morning I’m going to the store for a little while and then I’ll be heading over to celebrate Sue’s daughter’s graduation! She got her Doctorate! That’s impressive!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 238

I used some of the new Hero Arts goodies that arrived! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered that to the card. The bike, camera and greeting are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the bicycle in Wet Cement and the camera in Memento Tuxedo Black. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb. I adhered the greeting, camera and bicycle to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Espresso and Charcoal Sequins are added around the bridge and the card is finished. I love the images in both of the sets but the stellar greeting is definitely going to be a favorite! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you fro coming by today to see me! I wish you all a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Paper Players 296

Yesterday may have been the perfect day weather wise! It was in the 80’s with bright sun!! I drove over to the store with top down in the car and no jacket! Renee had a class and it was fun to chat with the ladies that came in. My friend Maggie had seen that I put up on Instagram that I had the We R Memory Keepers 3D Embossing Folders and asked me to mail that to her so I got that all packaged up and sent that out. We had Subway for lunch and I stopped at Aldi to get more Sweet Cream coffee creamer. I spoke to Michael for a bit and Sue too! Angie stopped by towards the end of the day and we laughed taking about kids! I also got to drive back home with the top down! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was extra sweet and cute! We sat on the front porch and looked at the planes and played catch for a while. Boy do I love that little guy! After dinner I came home and sat down to make my card. I finally got to play with some of the new Lawn Fawn! LOVE all of it!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #296

To start my card I cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the main panel for my card. I spritzed a little water on it and blotted it off with a paper towel and then hit it quickly with my Heat Tool to make sure the ink was set. I stamped some of the bubbles in Versa-Mark and covered them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set them. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts to cut out the part where the window would go. I put the panel on the base of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered the middle circle to it. On the back of the main panel I used Scor-Tape to adhere a piece of Acetate and then cut out a piece of Fun Foam with the Stitched Circles and adhered that to back with E-Z Runner. My images are from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the tail of the Merman, his crown and the school of fish. All of the images are then die cut using the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Lawn Cuts and adhered to the circle with Multi-Matte Medium. A little sprinkling of Chunky Gold Glitter and some Iridescent Flat Sequins is added and the the main panel and that is adhered the card base. My greeting is from the Big Scripty Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the hello and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally the school of fish is adhered with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I really love that ink-blended background and the super cute stamp set is great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Your visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 196

Another fun day at Stamp, Ink, Paper! Renee got a new line of paper in that moved like hotcakes! My second half of my Lawn Fawn order arrived, I entered it in the system, priced it and put it out. I got in touch with the customers that wanted it and they came in throughout the day to pick it up. Renee and I bounce ideas off of each other all day and she called me after she left with a really good one!! Can’t wait to share it with you! When I got home I had dinner, mum made chili! One of my favorites! My friend Sue stopped by and we chatted for a while and I subjected her to my latest YouTube obsessions! After she left I sat down and made my card, it was going to be a quick card… ummm… not really! Does that happen to you? You set out to make a simple card and end up using half of the supplies that you have?! LOL!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS196 DT Sketch 5-25-2016

When I saw the sketch I remembered that I had a butterfly die that I had picked up a while ago on one of my trips with Sue and Michael to a craft show. About time I used it! The card base today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I splattered some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine on the front and worked on the rest of the card while that dried. A piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, again! LOL!) is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is a two piece die from Paper Artist. I cut the back out from a piece of 36lb Vellum and the top from a piece of Basic Gray. A tiny piece of Scor-Tape holds the two together and also adhered it to the Mirror Card. Another piece of Mirror Card is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Loopy Circles Craft Die and adhered to the butterfly with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut it out and used a piece of Kool-Tac Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. Yes, I’m obsessed with that Mirror Card, but you have to admit it does look pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and tale a peek at the rest of the Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to visit with me! Have a happy Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Mojo449

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here with me! I wish you all a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Earthy Beautiful Day

Another long day at the store but I’m loving every minute of it! I did get my haircut in the morning before heading over and I got to drive with the top down! That kind of happiness just sets the tone for the rest of the day doesn’t it?! I got a lot accomplished, mostly organizing and planning, two of my favorite things to do! Angie was there and was working on all kinds of things with Renee. It’s so nice to be surrounded with all of that creativity all day! Sandy stopped by to make a purchase and Danielle came by to make the class cards which I will post tomorrow. I’ll be back there today, it’s supposed to be a rainy day here, what better way to spend a rainy day than in a craft store?!

The card that I made for today was started at the store and I finished it when I got home. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the stamped images and greeting are from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the gorgeous flower in Altenew Morning Frost, Evening Gray, Moon Rock and Lava Rock Crisp Ink using my MISTI. The leaves are stamped in Evening Gray and Moon Rock. I heat embossed two more of the images in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on Sahara Sand. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I arranged them on my card and the used Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are turned over and adhered to the card. The greeting is stamped in Lava Rock and the card is done! I love that amazing flower and I think that it looks so cool in the grays with the little hints of gold! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for spending a little of your Saturday with me! Have a lovely day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 195

Another odd weather day here yesterday! I know we had little tastes of Spring but I’m ready for it to come and stay please! Brian came by and picked me up in the morning so we could go and get some things for my project and drop them off. We stopped by Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and Brian Had his little girl Savannah with us. She has the most infections little laugh! You just can’t help but smile when you hear it! Renee had fun playing with her for a little bit. On the way home we stopped and got her a Happy Meal from McDonald’s, one of the only things that she will eat! Brian dropped me back off at the house and Heather called. She asked if I wanted to get lunch and go over by her so I stopped at Subway and picked up two sandwiches. Always a good time with Heather! When I got back home Taylor was here doing her usual binge watching bad TV on Hulu! I FaceTimed with Andrea and made my card for today. She got some spiffy new glasses and they look really nice on her! After dinner Taylor and I ran out to Bed Bath and Walmart so I could pick up a few things. Today, yup you guessed it, lots more to get done!

If it’s Wednesday then that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS195 DT Sketch 5-18-2016

I like it when I can use just one stamp set to make a card and that’s what just what I did! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Blue Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set. For the strip across the bottom I heat embossed the clouds in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder onto a piece of Vellum and put adhesive on the part that would be hidden behind the square. That square is a piece of Marina Mist that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The clouds, hot air balloon and banner are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. Some Silver Sequins are added with two Basic Jewels Rhinestones in the middles of the larger ones. I do love that set, the sketched look gives the images a nice soft feel to them. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the cards created by the Team and enter yours in the gallery! SIP Challenge 48 – Colors!

I trust that you all had a nice Monday! It was a little chilly here during the day but sunny and warmed up a little in the evening. I had a nice simple day. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and crafted for a bit. In the afternoon I ran a few errands and then came back home and binge watched some YouTube on the Apple TV. Mum made tacos for dinner and they were delicious! To end my evening I chatted with Michael for a bit, watched some more YouTube and relaxed. Today I have a bunch of things to do to get ready for my upcoming project finish! I’ll be able to tell you all about it on Thursday! Finally! To say that I’m excited doesn’t begin to cover it! 🙂

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some colors from Sandy…

SIP Color Challenge 48 800

Whenever I have the urge to use some Lawn Fawn it seems to last for a few days! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to it. For the frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames to cut out three pieces of Calypso Coral, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Baked with Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. Everything except the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. They are then die cut using the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto another piece of Calypso Coral and then cut out using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape and the card is finished! You already know how fond I am of Lawn Fawn, I just really love their images and most of them work with most of their other sets! Freshly Made Sketches 236

Well, it turned out to be a nice morning here! I went to Scrap-A-Latte and met Sue for the yard sale at 8:45. We were there until around 11:00 chatting with people. Sue got some stuff, I was good and did not! I got to drive back home with the top down, that always makes me happy! When I got back home I had a little lunch and then FaceTimed with my cousins in England again! Love chatting with them and there were a bunch of them this time! After that I ran to BestBuy to pick up a new universal remote called Blumoo. It works with your iPhone and the Amazon Echo. I’ll let you know what I think of it after I have played around with it for a bit. Around 6:15 Brian stopped by to drop off a shelving unit and we chatted for a bit. Some dinner was had with the Parent’s and then it was back home to make a card and watch a little TV, for research purposes for the remote of course! LOL! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to meet up with the peeps from The Ink Pad to go to the Stationary Show at the Javit’s Center. I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s all about! After that I’m going to meet up with Kim, her sister Angie and niece Tayler who are in from Missouri. That’s going to be fun!

Today I have my card that I made for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches to share with you! Here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 236

The card has a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Recollections Color Splash 6×6 Paper Pad in the upper right corner. Across the bottom is a piece of Gold Mirror Card. My greeting and butterfly are from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Thank You onto a piece of Black 110lb with some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and adhered the strip to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is stamped in Altenew Ocean Waves and Dusk Crisp Ink and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is applied over some of the black on the wings and a few Pretty Pink Posh God Sequins are added for some extra sparkle! I love that butterfly and the Altenew Crisp Inks stamp so nicely! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for your visit today! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – May Flowers!

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

I had a busy day yesterday! I had to run out to Riverhead to get some documents, it’s an hour from me and thankfully Sue came along for the ride! We were in and out so that was good. The weather was absolutely gorgeous here too! Nice bright sun and temps in the 70’s! We stopped and looked at few things at a store and then had some Sonic for lunch! When we got back to my house Sue took a bunch of stuff home to work on for me and then I went over to see my parents and little Daniel. He has a cold that he got from his cousin! Those little ones do like to pass around the germs don’t they?! I stopped back at my house and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to watch the store for Renee while she went and spent some time with her grandkids! I got to FaceTime with Andrea for a bit and I worked on some stuff while I was there. Today I’m going to meet Bill for lunch and then get a bunch more stuff done. Hopefully it will be nice again! I did enjoy my time in the convertible yesterday!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here after seeing Megan’s fabulous projects, welcome! This month we have a May flowers theme! More flowers! LOL! I have been on a flower kick lately, thankfully I have some new ones for you today!

First up is a card that uses some Altenew goodies! The card base is Neenah Solar White cut to 4″ wide with the front covered with a piece of Black 110lb. My flowers are from the Altenew Painted Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Hero Arts Bubblegum and Raspberry Jam Ink for the flowers and Simon Says Stamp Jellybean and Green Apple Ink for the leaves. The outlines of all of them are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and arranged them on my card. Some Press ‘n Seal is used to pick them up. I added some Foam Tape and Tombo Mono Adhesive to the back and then pressed them to my card and peeled off the Press ‘n Seal. The little black and white leaves are tucked in and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. You can see how nice and easy it is here…

I stamped the butterfly from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Bubblegum and Raspberry Jam and used the Coordinating Dies to cut him out too. Some more Foam Tape holds him in place. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I love the loose artsy feel of the flowers and butterfly and I think they really pop against the black!

OSAT April Blog Hop - Card-WM

Next up is a fun tag! I painted a Wooden Tag with some Black Acrylic Paint while it dried I heat embossed a Wood Rose with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. My greeting is heat embossed in more Gold and is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. I adhered the rose to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium and then tied a piece of American Crafts Pink Twine though the top! I think the tag would make a very nice package decoration and then whoever you give it to can keep it and use as for a little home decor!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and tag for the OSAT May Flowers Blog Hop! You can click on the button below to continue on with the tour and you will go on to see what my fabulous friend Dena has come up with!!
