Cherry Blossoms Lantern Birthday

Another fun filled day at The Ink Pad with Jane yesterday. After we closed up I made my way over to the Subway at Union Square and on the way I stopped in a looked around Urban Outfitters and Burlington Coat Factory. I’m obsessed with getting a new backpack, a really specific one. It has to be small but hold a lot and have a lot of organization inside! I have been looking for this backpack for a long time! LOL! Anyway, I stopped and got some pizza on my way to Kim’s and watched Kingsman: The Secret Service again while I had dinner. This morning I’m off to visit my friends Jon and Mary for a bit and then I’ll head back down to The Ink Pad for another fun day with Jane! I’ll make my way back home this evening, I’m going to see if Kim wants to have dinner before I go!

Today I have a card using some new Mama Elephant Sets! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with a strip of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape down the left side. The main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink on to give it that subtle blue color that I love so much! The images and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Lunar Extras Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black, along with the string for the lights, and colored them in with Copics. They are cut out with the Coordinating Mama Elephant Lunar Extras Creative Cuts and adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. My greeting is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A simple card but I love the way that blue background makes the images pop along with the strip of black tape! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! I thank you for stopping by today! Have a super Sunday my friends! 🙂

Ahh… the day after Christmas. I hope that everything that you got was exactly what you wanted and that you will not have to be returning or exchanging anything! I had a lovely Christmas! My brother, Erika and Daniel showed up at my parent’s around 12:00 along with Taylor. The first thing that my brother did was to take Daniel outside to take some pictures. I also took a few and here is one of the cuter ones…

Daniel & Goose 2015

He so damn cute with his little vest and collared shirt along with his tie! Love that little boy to pieces! He gots lots from Santa and the rest of the crew. His favorite was his Thomas the Tank Engine train and track that he got. He played with that for quite a while. We had a tickle war, one of my favorite things because he has the best laugh! Andrew and his girlfriend Kayleigh stopped by for a bit and then after my brother left I FaceTimed Tracey and got speak to a big part of the gang over in London! We had a very non-traditional Christmas dinner, home-made macaroni and cheese along with some ham, actually one of my favorites! After dinner I came home and crafted for a bit and then watched Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, very good just like the rest of them! Not a bad Christmas at all! I hope that yours was just as good! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for the weekend, I’m going to stay at Kim’s and hang at The Ink Pad, Saturday with Barbara and Sunday with Jane. Should be a fun relaxing weekend!

So after Christmas what’s the next card that we need? Why Thank You cards of course! I made a quick and simple set using a Winter stamp. I love when you can use a stamp for other things than what it was intended for! My cards are all Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. I stamped them all with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Background Stamp, two with Simon Says Stamp Mint Candy Ink and the other two with Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink. Across the middle of each one is a strip of Recollections Silver Glimmer Tape. I used the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set to cut out some Black 110lb and adhered them to the cards with Multi-Matte Medium. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. Like I said really simple and that Falling Snow Background Stamp just looks like fun confetti! I hope that you like the set of Thank You cards for today’s post! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

And there are a little less than two more days left until Christmas! Am I ready… nope! I got a few more things accomplished yesterday before I headed into Manhattan for a bit to see Isabella. It was a very rainy and damp day here yesterday and looks to be the same today, but it’s still nice and warm! Heather picked me up from the Hicksville Station with some Wendy’s and we ran over to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I stopped back home for a few minutes before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Tuesday! We had to do it early this week because Thursday is Christmas Eve! A good time was had by all as usual! I finished my card that I was working on when I got home and then was too tired so off to bed. Apparently I was really tired because I woke up late today!

The card for today is a simple shaker! I started off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On a piece of Solar White 80lb I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Green Leaf, Khaki and Fog Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb. To create the shaker I cut out the Hero Arts Large Mason Jar from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed the sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To the back I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of Foam Tape. Some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter is added on top of the image and then I lined it up and adhered the two piece together. A strip of Recollections Sliver Smooth Glitter Paper is adhered to the base and then the shaker panel is adhered next to that. A pretty quick and simple shaker to make but still a fun card to give! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks very much for visiting and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Winter Wonderland Ornaments & The Ink Pad Tags Class!

Sunday… the day of… rest?! Nah! I had a restful Saturday instead. I got my laundry done and did some crafty things, snuck in some TV. I love when I watch a movie and it makes you think, and not what you would expect to think about either. Anyway, today I’m off to Manhattan to hang out with Barbara at The Ink Pad. It’s going to be another chilly day, only in the 40’s! Where did those 60’s go?! They say they will back in a few days and I’m looking forward to their return! What’s on for you today?

My project that I have to share with you today is another ornament, this time a shaker! I cut some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Basic Backer Die. The background is a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock cut with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Skyscapes Dies. I adhered it to the backer with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. I cut it in a little less than half and then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. My skyline is cut out of some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I added some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter and then adhered the ornament half to the backer with more Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s twine tied through the top give me something to hang it on my tree with! I really do love making these ornaments and the Scene It Dies make is super easy! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament, they are fun to make and I hope that you will try one!

Pals Paper Arts 280

Yesterday was my friend Heather’s Grandfather’s funeral. The service was in Valley Stream and I went with Brian. It was a lovely service to remember a very nice man. I had only had the pleasure of meeting him a few times but on those occasions he was always smiling. The priest said that you should think of the times that you got to see him and remember what stands out most in your mind, for me that was him smiling. From there we went to the National Cemetery for the Air Force ceremony. I have never been to a military service and it was quite interesting to see. No matter when you hear TAPS played, especially on a single trumpet in the rain, it’s sad. But I can still see him smiling. After the service Brian and I had lunch and then I came home and stopped by parent’s to see Daniel, he can always make you smile too! I spoke to Andrea for a bit and then Taylor came over and we went to the mall so she could get some shoes. We stopped at IKEA and I got a few Christmas decorations and then came back home, spoke to Andrew for a bit and crafted before calling it a night.

I haven’t played along with the Pals in a while but when I saw this weeks’ sketch a card popped into my head so I had to participate…

PPA 280

It’s a very clean and simple card but was fun to make! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is another piece of Solar White 110lb, I wrapped some DMC Gold Thread around the bottom and then adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The tree is from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set (I have been using that a lot lately!) and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Canson 140b Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a wet paintbrush to color in the tree. It’s cut out with Paper Snips and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The merry is cut from a piece of Craft Smart Holiday Foil 6×6 Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Deco Tree Craft Dies and is adhered to the tree with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Christmas and Seattle Mix Sequins scattered across the front complete the card. I love the heat embossed and watercolored images, the variation in color is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Thank you for visiting today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 217

Happy Friday! Made it through another week! It rained here all day yesterday, but I will take that and 60 degrees over snow any day! I got a late start to my morning, woke up with a headache, never fun. I finally got my act together and went over to my friend Sue’s house to work on some more Etsy stuff. We took a break and had lunch at Panera, I had the Tomato Soup (my favorite) and a grilled cheese, perfect lunch for a rainy day! We stopped at the Post Office and then finished up and I headed home for some dinner with my Parents and Daniel. Daniel and I played with his colored pencils and he told me what color they were and then counted them as he put them back into the container. He’s pretty smart for a two year old! After dinner I came home and worked on some craftiness and then watched a little TV. Pretty good Friday!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I want to thank Amy for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now, here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 217

I of course saw a shaker card! Shocker! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create the shaker I cut out a piece of Mossy Meadow with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles for the outside and the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles for the inside window. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back and then a single layer of Foam Tape goes around to seal in the Chunky Glitter that I actually picked up from the Target Dollar Spot. A piece of Cherry Cobbler is then adhered to the back and seals in all of the sparkly goodness! At the top of the card is the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Token Craft Die that I cut out from three pieces of Solar White 80lb. I adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-purpose Spray Adhesive. For my greeting I stamped the & A Happy New Year from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered that to the card with more Foam Tape. I love the dimension that you get when you adhere the die cuts together and all of the sparkly glitter in the shaker is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I thank you for taking some time to stop by and see what I’m up to today and hope that you have an incredible Friday! 🙂

Well, that was avery long but fun day in Manhattan! I took the 7:01 train out of Bethpage and got into Penn Station around 8:00, late as usual. I headed over to Isabella’s and spent the morning with her, always a good time. Her brother is staying with her so I got to meet him, very nice guy. Around 1:00 I headed down to meet Kim for lunch. We went to this little place by her office and I had a delicious sandwich with grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce and olive oil. From there I went over to visit with my friend Barbara, the guy at the front desk in her building called up and said that she wasn’t there so I sat in the lobby. Around 4:25 I got a message from her asking if I got stuck somewhere and I said that I had been in the lobby since 3:50. She came down and got me and had a word with the guy at the front desk! We had a nice visit and are going to have lunch in January. After I left there I headed down to The Ink Pad to get ready for my Tags class. One of Michael’s friends from Brasil is in Manhattan and she came to the class. We had a nice time as always. Here is a picture of the happy class working on their tags…

TIP December Tags Class

And here is a picture of Carol and I…

TIP Carol and I

After class Carol waited with me because she was going the same way as I was so we took the Subway together and I made sure that she headed in the right direction back to her hotel. I made the train at Penn by 1 minute only the get home late because the were delays due to an unauthorized vehicle on the track in New Hyde Park. I finally got home around 11:00, had a cup of coffee and went to bed!

Thankfully I had made my card for today’s post on Monday night and it’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #275

Traditional Christmas colors! My card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the front with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. Down the right side is a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. My greeting and trees are from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered the slope to the card with Foam Tape. The trees are heat embossed with more Silver Pearl on Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Paper Snips. The tree trunks are Soft Suede and they and the middle tree are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The other two tress are adhered with Foam Tape and that’s my card done! I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, so subtle yet neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I’ll have the tags that we made in class for you tomorrow! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 216

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I’m up and out early today, off to Manhattan! I have an appointment at the Apple Store on West 14th for my iPhone and it’s horrible battery and then I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara. Tonight we are all going to dinner for a sort of Holiday party! So much fun! Yesterday I crafted and watched Daniel again for a bit. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s to get them and the girls and take them to the airport for their little Disney weekend! The traffic was horrendous but that’s NY! When I got home I had some dinner and then Heather stopped by for a bit. Her grandfather is in the hospital and is 93! He’ll be out and back to his old self in no time but I’m sending him well wishes to him anyway. What are you all up to this weekend?

I stopped at Michaels the other day with Sandy after dinner and found this Hero Arts Set that I have wanted for a while and that’s what I used to make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 216

Before I get to my card for this week’s challenge I wanted to thank Linda for making me her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

Today, the card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. That awesome holographic paper is from a 6×6 Pad from Craft Smith that I also picked up from Michaels a while ago and creates my background layer. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I used the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edges Dies on the left side of. The ornaments, string and greeting are all from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the crystals in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock. They are colored with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and water. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and then heat embossed the strings in Ranger Liquid Platinum and the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder before adhered the ornaments to the Vellum with Foam Tape. Some more Foam Tape hidden behind the ornaments adheres the Vellum to the card. I love those crystals watercolored and that holographic paper is just the coolest! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 79

Happy end of the week and start of the weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday! In the 60’s so I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte with the top down in the car to see Renee. We got caught up and then I came back to my house and Daniel came over for a visit with my dad. He watched some Mickey Mouse and the Beanstalk and had a Lays Dark Chocolate Covered Potato Chip! I asked him if it was good and he said very good… more?! After dinner with my parents and brother and Daniel of course I ran to Target and then headed over to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday! It’s always nice to get the weekend started a little early! We really do have a good time and a really good laugh every time! This morning I have a few projects to finish and then I’m taking Brian and Kim to the airport with the kids. They are taking them on a surprise trip to Disney for the weekend! A very nice early Christmas prezzy! My dad decorated the front yard yesterday and Daniel was inspecting everything for him. I love this picture of him standing next to the Santa that they have had since I was little!

Daniel & Santa 2015

Santa needs a bit of touching up! He still looks good for his age! LOL!

It’s time for the last Fab Friday of 2015! This time around we have some colors…

Fab Fri 79 12-11-2015

I decided that I wanted to do a little simple watercoloring! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wood Embossing folder, this time the birch trees. On the left I adhered a strip of Real Red and Mossy Meadow and then adhered the panel to the card base. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper that I die cut with the Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag Die. My bird is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Using the Hero Arts Bird Rubber Stamp. I scribbled some Pool Party, Real Red and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers onto an acrylic block and used a wet paintbrush to color him in, I dried him and then added another layer to give him a more feathery look. The greeting is form the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Natural Hemp Cord through the top and then adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added a few Studio Calico Wood Stars to complete the card. I am quite fond of that odd little bird, he’s sort of cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for the last Fab Friday challenge of 2015! Go and check out the blog and see what the rest of the team has done to inspire you to add your creation to the gallery! Thank you for visiting today and I hope that you have a fun Friday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Gratitude

OSAT Header

Hello! I hope that you are all enjoying your week! I had a productive day with Sue and listing things on Etsy. I finally set up my store too and you can visit it HERE. I have just a few cards up on it for now but will be adding more in the future! After that I came home and spent a little time with Taylor before getting ready to go out with Sandy for dinner at Friday’s. We had a lovely time and it was great to catch up with her. She brought over her new MacBook for a few lessons and she will be an expert in no time! It’s so nice and thin, she got the space gray one, really beautiful! She left around 10:30 and I watched a little TV before calling it a night.

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Gratitude! If you have arrived here from Marisa welcome! She had some great projects, didn’t she?! I have a card and a fun gift card holder for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is the card. I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wood Embossing Folder. A partial circle is cut out from the lower right with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and Fun Foam and SNAIL adhere it to the card. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink using the Hero Arts Holiday Pine Branches Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I adhered them in the circle with SNAIL. For the 25 I used some Gold Glimmer Paper and the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. I also cut out a piece of Fun Foam and adhered it to the back with Multi-Matte Medium before adhering them to card with the same. The thanks is cut from Solar White 80lb and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Kraft with the pops of Green and Gold, makes for an elegant yet understated thank you card!

OSAT December Blog Hop - Card-WM

Next up is the coordinating Gift Card Holder. I used the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die to cut out a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The front is stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. Some Scor-Tape is used to adhere the box together. The stamped images and numbers are the exact same as the ones that I used on the card. I adhered the leaves with SNAIL and the numbers are adhered with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I love the pillow box from Lawn Fawn, it’s sized to perfectly hold a gift card!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and gift card holder for the OSAT Gratitude Blog Hop! You can click on the button below to continue on with the tour and you will go on to see what Renee has come up with! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂
