Mitten Tulips Thanks CASE

Is it Sunday already? Wow, yesterday just flew by! I had a nice time in the city and then I went to visit my friend Sandy and we crafted for a bit. I always have fun crafting with Sandy! Today’s post is a Thank You card that I made a little while ago for my friends Danielle and Anthony. I CASE’d the card from Stampin’ Success. They have some really neat ideas in there! The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock cut to 5 1/2 x 7 and folded in half to make it note card size. I stamped the border along the bottom from the Make a Mitten Stamp Set in Gumball Green. The “tulips” are stamped from the same set in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Mitten Builder Punch. The strip of hearts is embossed with the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using some Summer Starfruit. I cut thin strips of Gumball Green for the Stems and the leaves are the thumbs from the Mitten Builder Punch too. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I really like the idea of using the Mitten Builder Punch to make the tulips, so clever. I hope that you liked today’s thank you card and thank you so much for coming by today. Have a great Sunday everyone! 🙂

Control Freaks October 2012 Tour!

Welcome to the Control Freaks October 2012 Tour! You are probably arriving here from LeeAnn Greff’s blog! Didn’t she have some awesome projects?!?! This month’s theme is “The Men in our Lives” featuring masculine projects. The men in my life would be my dad, my brother… oh and me! LOL! I love to do masculine projects, there are some great stamp sets that you can use. I have featured some of my favorites, Postage Due, Fine Feathers, Nature Walk and You’re Amazing. I have two 3D projects to share with you today. The first one is a box and the second one is a banner. We’ll start off with the box.

The bottom of the box is Soft Suede and the top is Night of Navy. I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create it. A great tip to remember is when you go to make the lid move your card stock ever so slightly over to the right for each side. It really helps the lid fit much better. I used a piece of burlap for the background, it gives it a nice rough feel. The greeting is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. I scored the tabs and adhered them to the sides of the lid with Sticky Strip. The two tickets poking out are stamped in Soft Suede using the Take a Ticket Wheel and cut out with my Paper Snips.I flagged a piece of Night of Navy and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the burlap. Some Champagne Glimmer Paper is punched out with the Merry Minis Punch pack and they too are adhered to the flagged piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The box is not overly complicated and I think makes a nice place for your dad or brother’s birthday gift!

The banner contains a lot of elements! The base of each banner consists of a piece of Not Quite Navy that is flagged on the bottom and a piece of Crumb Cake that is also flagged on the bottom and the embossed using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All of the letters are stamped in Not Quite Navy using the Morning Post Alphabet and cut out with my Paper Snips. On the first and last banners we have a piece of Very Vanilla that is stamped using the Travel Journal Builder Wheel in Soft Suede and then flagged on both ends. A thin piece of Not Quite Navy is flagged and placed on top of that. The stamped image is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The rosette is made from First Edition Designer Series Paper and has a piece of Not Quite Navy and Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with Circle Punches. The second and sixth banners have a piece of Soft Suede punched out with the 1″ Square Punch and pierced around the edge using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. A piece of Not Quite Navy is flagged on each end and pierced along the middle and placed on top of that. The stamped image is from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. In the upper corner is a piece of Not Quite Navy that is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and pierced around the edge. The bee is from the Nature Walk Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. The third and fifth banners have a piece of Not Quite Navy that is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The stamped image is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The 3D star is cut from a pattern and scored using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, folded and mounted on a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally the center banner has a piece of Not Quite Navy  that is punched out with the Decorative Label punch and an oval is pierced in the center. The bird is from the Language of Friendship Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede on Soft Suede and punched out with the Bird Builder Punch. In the upper left corner is a Vintage Faceted Button with a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper in the center and a piece of Not Quite Navy cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies, cut in half and adhered underneath.

WOW! That was a lot of product! LOL! I really hope that you enjoy my two projects for this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour. A CASE from Shelli

Good morning everyone! It’s the weekend and I couldn’t be happier! I have some projects to finish and peeps to see, it’s going to be a good time! Today’s post is a CASE from So Shelli. Last month there were a bunch of projects posted by Sara Douglass and I fell in love with this one. I thought it would be the perfect Wedding surprise for my brother and Erika on their special day. I only change some minor details but kept it mostly the same. You can see the original post here.

Where to begin! I cut out some First Edition Designer Series Paper with the Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die, I think it was three pieces all together. I used some Sticky Strip and a Jumbo Sticky round to form the rosette. A piece of Pool Party is cut out with the Oval Accents Bigz Clear Die and embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On top of that are two of the scalloped pieces from the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die cut from Wisteria Wonder and stamped with the Distressed Dots Background Stam in Wisteria Wonder. I used the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Dies to cut out a piece of Elegant Eggplant and cut one in half and put that on top of the other pieces. A piece of Elegant Eggplant is flagged on both ends and mounted to that with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped from the Forever With You Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant on Pool Party. The butterfly is cut from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die in Pool Party and stamped in Pool Party with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp. I punched a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and pierced two holes in it and threaded some Pool Party Bakers Twine through it before adhered it to the butterfly. The greeting on the Very Vanilla flag is stamped in Elegant Eggplant and the “is” is stamped on a piece of Pool Party that is punched out with the Small Heart Punch. A piece of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon is tied just underneath it. The picture is backed with a piece of Pool Party and they are all adhered to dowels with Sticky Strip and hot glue. The jar has a piece of Pool Party that was cut out using the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die. I wrapped a piece of First Edition DSP around it, punched another piece os Silver Glimmer Paper out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and tied a piece of Linen Thread around it. To keep everything in place I filled the jar with small river rocks.

Erika and Jason both loved their little surprise waiting for them on their table and I hope that you enjoyed it too. Thank you so much for spending some time with me today, I appreciate your visiting and love to read your comments! I hope that you all enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and that means only one more day until the weekend! We can do it, I know we can! LOL! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week Jennifer T. has provided us with this sketch…

I have been wanting to use the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set that I just recently got and I thought this would be the perfect sketch! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I took a piece of Sahara Sand and punched out two pieces of card stock with the Ornament Punch. I adhered them to the Sahara Sand with temporary adhesive and used the Stampin’ Spritzer filled with a mixture of Early Espresso Re-Inker, water and alcohol to mist over it. After it dried I removed the ornaments and had the neat masked effect that you see on the card. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edges. A piece of Very Vanilla is randomly stamped with the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Gumball Green. I adhered it to the spritzed piece with Snail and used some Sticky Strip to attach a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. The piece is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the ornament and the merry christmas from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set in Primrose Petals and punched them out with the Ornament Punch and the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Basic Jewels Pearls, whenever I use pearls I always think of Ann Schach! I really like the masking technique and the color combination. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so very much for stopping by and have a fun day!

Fab Friday 02

A good Sunday morning to you all. I hope that you had a nice Saturday. I was in Manhattan yesterday and I got to see some friends and do some shopping. My cousin, my friend Kim and I went to Korea Town and had some delicious Korean food. We also had the rehearsal dinner last night for my brother’s wedding. My gift was this amazing sign that he made me…

It is laser cut from 1/8″ Stainless Steel. I love it! He’s quite the crafty person just with a different medium. 🙂

Now on to today’s post that is for the Fab Friday Challenge #2. First I would like to thank the crew over there for choosing my card as one of their Fab Faves for the last challenge. You can check out my original post here and see the Fab Friday post here. This time the gang has given us a color challenge…

And what a soothing color combination it is. I wanted something clean and simple so I CASE’d a card from this month’s Demonstrator Magazine Stampin’ Success. The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used a piece of So Saffron cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and rounded the corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I then stamped the dots from the Border Banter Stamp Set in So Saffron and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The chevron stamp from the same set is stamped in Basic Gray on Basic Gray and flagged on the one end and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut three strips of Basic Gray in 1/4″ x 4″ strips and adhered them to the card across the lower half with SNAIL. The greeting uses the the border from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and the words from the From My Heart Stamp Set, both stamped in Basic Gray, and cut out with the Labels Collections Framelits Dies. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals mount it to the card. I really love the colors combined with the simplicity of the layout, it really helps call you attention to that sweet greeting! I hope that you enjoyed today’s Fab Friday Color Challenge card. Thanks so much for checking in with me and have an awesome day! 🙂

Happy Birthday…

To me! LOL! So, today is my birthday and I decided to be a ninny and make myself a card! I used some of my current favorite things and some of my favorite neutral colors. The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a piece of Basic Gray. Before I adhered it to the card I used a piece of Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon with a Round Designer Ribbon Side across the card and adhered it to the back with some Sticky Strip. The happy birthday is form the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and Is stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. It is mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Crumb Cake, also cut out with the Labels Framelits, that I pierced with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The second greeting/image is from the Convention 2012 Stamp Set I Am… and is stamped and heat embossed the same as the first. For a little bling I used two Basic Jewels Rhinestones above and below the happy birthday. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for visiting with me. Have a “Happy” Day!

CCMC 216

Good morning and welcome to day one of our three day weekend! It was a good day yesterday because we got out of work at 3:00. To make the day even better my very talented friend and daughter’s mom gave an early birthday present…

A beautiful bracelet! It’s made with sterling silver beads and hammered button closure with black leather cord. I love it! You can visit her Etsy shop and see all of the beautiful creations by clicking here. I think that she is quite talented! 🙂

Now on to today’s post, it’s for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween and then I thought no, they would be great for a non-tradiotional holiday card. We all know how I like non-tradiotional holiday colors. I got the idea for the card from the Demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success. The base of the card is Night of Navy Card Stock. I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack for the circles on the lower right. I stamped the greeting from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry and then markered the “on earth” in Lucky Limeade and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the whole thing to the card base. The stamped images are form the Merry Minis Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade. I used the coordinating Merry Mini’s Punch Pack to punch them out and they are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity of the card and originally I was going to use Crumb Cake for the background but decided to go with one of my more neglected colors, Sahara Sand, instead. I think it worked out quite well. I hope you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card, let me know what you think by leaving a comment. Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for visiting!

Freaky Monthly Challenge!

A very good Sunday Morning to you all. I spent most of the day catching up on some creativity, which is definitely my favorite way to spend a Saturday! I have some amazing news to share with you all. About a month ago I got a very exciting email Lisa, her blog is Get Your Stamp On! The email asked me if I would like to become a member of The Control Freaks!! I couldn’t believe it! WOW! To be asked to join such an amazingly talented group was beyond exciting. I of course accepted and today I am posting my first card for the Freaks. They have a Freaky Monthly Challenge amongst the members and here is my card for August. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Core’dinations Card Stock in Early Espresso and embossed it with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The fun part is when you use the new Stampin’ Sanding System to sand the card stock and reveal the lighter inside layer. A little rub with the Core’dinations Dust Buddy and I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The next layer is a piece of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Very Vanilla. The layer on top of that is another piece backed with some more Very Vanilla. I used the ticket stamp from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and stamped them in Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo. The Ticket Duo Builder punch is used to punch them all out and I used some 2-Way Glue to adhere them to the DSP. Another piece of World Spectacular DSP is mounted to the ticket layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ballon image is also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with my Paper Snips. The greeting is from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and also cut out with Paper Snips. They are both mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m really happy with the card and hope that the Freaks and you enjoy it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Not Quite Rose Apothecary Label Anniversary CASE

Hello everyone and a good Sunday morning to you all. I hope that you are enjoying the weekend and having some fun outdoors. It was gorgeous here today on Long Island. Today’s card was made for two friends of mine, Chantal and Marc, for their anniversary. It’s a case from the 2012-2013 Catalog. I changed up the colors and added one thing to it. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Rose Red with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On top of that is a piece of Not Quite Navy cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The main image is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out. For a little added interest I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. I stamped the image again in Not Quite Navy and cut out just the enjoying and mounted over the original with some Stampin Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is also stamped in Not Quite Navy and mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the layering and like the added greeting. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you so much for taking some time out of your busy day to stop by, I appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Beautiful Wings Tag Rosette Box

Good morning peeps! How are you all doing today? I’m doing well, I have scrapbook class tonight! I always look forward to an evening of creativity! For today’s post I have made a cute little 3″ x 3″ x 1 1/4″ box. The bottom of the box is Wisteria Wonder and the top is Basic Gray. I used my Simply Scored to make the box and Sticky Strip to hold it together. To decorate the top of the box I started with a piece of Wisteria Wonder Card Stock that I flagged the ends on with my Paper Snips and then used my Bone Folder to curl them ever so slightly. The next piece is a scalloped piece that I cut out with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die in Pool Party. I used the Simply Scored and a pice of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper to create the rosette. The gray piece is stamped with the Lacy and Lovely Stamp Set in Basic Gray and punched out with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch* from the Holiday Catalog. On top of that are two butterflies, one in Wisteria Wonder and one in Pool Party, that I cut out with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. I stamped the greetings from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set in Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Basic Gray and punched them out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. Some Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine is used to tie them to the Vintage Faceted Designer Button and that is adhered to the butterfly with a Mini Glue Dot. I really love the color combination and I am loving the rosettes! I hope that you enjoyed today’s box and thank you, as always, for checking in. Have an awesome day! 🙂
